In nano-scale semiconductor devices, significant ballistic effects occur due to the mean free path of phonons comparable to the heat source size and device scale. We employ a three-dimensional non-gray Monte Carlo simulation to investigate the transient heat conduction of silicon nanofilms with both single and multiple heat sources. The accuracy of the present method is first verified in the ballistic and diffusion limits. When a single local heat source is present, the width of the heat source has a significant impact on heat conduction in the domain. Notably, there is a substantial temperature jump at the boundary when the heat source width is 10 nm.With increasing heat source width, the boundary temperature jump weakens. Furthermore, we observe that the temperature excitation rate is independent of the heat source width, while the temperature influence range expands simultaneously with the increase in heat source width. Around 500 ps, the temperature and heat flux distribution in the domain stabilize. In the case of dual heat sources, the hot zone is broader than that of a single heat source, and the temperature of the hot spot decreases as the heat source spacing increases. However, the mean heat flux remains unaffected. Upon reaching a spacing of 200 nm between the heat sources, the peak temperature in the domain remains unchanged once a steady state is reached. These findings hold significant implications for the thermal design of silicon nano-devices with local heat sources.展开更多

Both the skin effect of induction heating and electro-thermal coupled effect are considered in the heating model. The local heat treatment temperature difference at the inner and outer side of the pipe is analyzed and the different convection conditions are also considered. The simulation results show that in appropriate induction heating process, the temperature difference in the pipe can be controlled within 30 ℃.展开更多

The effects of rotational speed, solid thermal conductivity and porosity on heat transfer were analyzed. The thermal transport coefficient, defined as the ratio of local heat flux to maximum temperature difference on the disk, was introduced to evaluate the thermal transport capacity in rotating porous disk. For convenience, the conjugation between convective heat transfer inside the rotating porous disk and convective heat transfer over the rotating disk surface was decoupled in the present study. Firstly, the convective heat transfer over the free rotating disk surface was investigated indi-vidually to determine the heat transfer coefficient over the disk surface to the ambient air. Then the convective heat transfer over a rotating disk surface was treated as the thermal boundary condition for the computation of convective heat transfer in-side rotating porous disk. Under the present research conditions, the results show that the centrifugally-driven flow is enhanced significantly with the increase of rotational speed. Consequently, the maximum temperature on the disk surface is decreased and the temperature distribution tends to be uniform. The thermal transport capacity in rotating porous disk is also enhanced with the increase of solid thermal conductivity or the decrease of solid porosity. In the rotating porous disk, the solid phase heat transfer is clearly the dominant mode of heat transport and the fluid phase makes an incremental contribution to the total heat transfer.展开更多

The local atmospheric properties and near-surface turbulent heat transfers were analyzed. The local atmosphere in this region is warmer, more humid and less windy, with weaker solar ra- diation and surface radiate heating than in the Middle Himalayas. The near-surface turbulent heat transfer in the Eastern Himalayas is weaker than that in the Middle Himalayas. The total heat transfer is mainly contributed by the latent heat transfer with a Bowen ratio of 0.36, which is essentially different from that in the Middle Himalayas and the other Tibetan regions.展开更多

In the situation when nonnegative solution (u, v) of the above problem blows up in finite time, it is showed that the blow-up is global and this differs from the local sources case. Moreover, for the special case r = s = 1, lim t→T*(T*-t)^p+1/pq-1u(x,t)=(p+1)^1/pq-1(q+1)^p/pq-1(pq-1)^-p+1/pq-1, lim t→T*(T*-t)^q+1/pq-1u(x,t)=(p+1)^1/pq-1(q+1)^p/pq-1(pq-1)^-p+1/pq-1 are obtained uniformly on compact subsets of/2, where T* is the blow-up time.展开更多

The statistical features of the SLTs from 1985 to 2007 are analyzed first. It is found that over the SCS about 68% of the TCs can develop into TSs. The SLT intensity is relatively weak and associated with its genesis latitude as well as its track. The SLT monthly number presents a seasonal variation with two peaks in May and July to September. Based on the daily heat flux data from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution_Objectively Analyzed air-sea Fluxes(WHOI_OAFlux) in the same period, the air-sea exchange during the process of generation and development of the SLT is studied. Results show that the heat fluxes released to the atmosphere increase significantly day by day before cyclogenesis. The ocean to the south to the TC center provides the main energy. Along with the development of SLT, the regions with large heat fluxes spread clockwise to the north of TC, which reflects the energy dispersion property of vortex Rossby waves in the periphery of the TC. Once the SLT forms the heat fluxes are not intensified as much. During the whole process, the net heat, latent heat and sensible heat flux display a similar evolution, while the latent heat flux makes a main contribution to the net heat flux. The maximum air-sea heat exchange always occurs at the left side of the TC moving direction, which may reflect the influence of the SCS summer monsoon on TC structure.展开更多

Combined withnumerical calculating results, the effects of different EBLPWHT mode and parameters, including heattreating position, heating width and heating time, on the distribution of welding residual stressesare analyzed. The results show that, the residual tensile stresses in weld center can be largelydecreased when the weld is heat treated at back preface of the plate. The numerical results alsoindicated that the magnitude of the residual longitudinal stresses of the weld and the zone vicinityof the weld is decreased, and the range of the residual longitudinal stresses is increased alongwith the increase of heating width and heating time.展开更多

But it is only limited to the flow problems in regular regions. At the same time, here is no upwind mechanism to deal with the convective property of the fluid flow in traditional DQ method. A local differential quadrature method owning upwind mechanism (ULDQM) was given to solve the coupled problem of incompressible viscous flow and heat transfer in an irregular region. For the problem of flow past a contraction channel whose boundary does not parallel to coordinate direction, the satisfactory numerical solutions were obtained by using ULDQM with a few grid points. The numerical results show that the ULDQM possesses advantages including well convergence, less computational workload and storage as compared with the low-order finite difference method.展开更多

Complete suppression of sawtooth is achieved for the duration of the ECRH, when the heating power is applied on the high-field side of low-density plasma, and exceeds a threshold value of power. The m = 1 bursts riding on the ramp phase of sawtooth can only be excited when the ECRH location is near the q = 1 surface on the high field side. The conditions under which the various relaxation activities are produced or suppressed are described. Experimental results imply that the energetic electrons generated during ECRH are responsible for the modification/or stabilization/or excitation of the instability. Near the q = 1 surface, the passing electrons play the role of reducing the shear and tending to stabilize the sawtooth activity, while the barely-trapped electrons play the role of enhancing or driving an internal kink instability.展开更多

A greater level of dissolution will result in a change in the density of the solution. When a localized area of the solution is of a different temperature, this will affect the localized density. Density is one of the factors affecting rate of sinking and the difference in temperature will lead to a change in the rate of sinking. Thus, when an object is at different temperatures, it will transfer heat to or from the solution in different manners and the rate of sinking will be different. This study tested whether sinking rate in a solution with excess solute could be used to judge the temperature of an object and the effect was confirmed with impure Graphite blocks in a Potassium Iodide solution.展开更多

A close-loop control program is designed to simulate the temperature field of two different pipes. Both the skin effect of induction heating and electro-thermal coupled effect are considered in the heating model. The local heat treatment temperature difference at the inner and outer side of the pipe is analyzed and the different convection conditions are also considered. The simulation results show that in appropriate induction heating process, the temperature difference in the pipe can be controlled within 30 ℃.

文摘Numerical simulation was carried out to study the centrifugally-driven flow and heat transfer inside rotating metallic porous disk subjected to local heat flux. In the rotating porous disk, the solid phase heat transfer is clearly the dominant mode of heat transport and the fluid phase makes an incremental contribution to the total heat transfer.

文摘The influence of local cooling/heating on two types of nonlinear instabilities of the high-speed boundary layer, namely, the First and Second Mode Oblique Breakdown(FMOB and SMOB),is studied using direct numerical simulations.Local cooling and heating are performed at the weak and strong nonlinear stages of the two types of nonlinear instabilities. It is found that for the FMOB,local cooling at the weak nonlinear region will suppress the increase of the fundamental mode, leading to transition delay.Opposite to local cooling, local heating at the weak nonlinear region of the FMOB will promote the growth of the fundamental mode, resulting in the occurrence of more upstream transition onset. However,if local cooling and heating are performed at the strong nonlinear region, the influence of both local cooling and heating on the FMOB can be neglected.Remarkably, both local heating and cooling can delay the SMOB for different mechanisms.Performing local cooling at the weak nonlinear region of the SMOB,the low amplitude of higher spanwise wavenumber steady mode caused by local cooling lies behind transition delay. When local cooling is set at the strong nonlinear region, the low amplitude of harmonic modes around the cooling area can cause transition delay.Additionally, local heating will suppress the SMOB for the slowing amplification rate of various modes caused by the local heating at both the weak and strong nonlinear stages of the SMOB.

文摘To understand the local atmosphere and heat transfer and to facilitate the boundary-layer parameterization of numerical simulation and prediction, an observational campaign was conducted in the Eastern Himalayas in June 2010. The total heat transfer is mainly contributed by the latent heat transfer with a Bowen ratio of 0.36, which is essentially different from that in the Middle Himalayas and the other Tibetan regions.

文摘In this paper there are established the global existence and finite time blow-up results of nonnegative solution for the following parabolic system ut = △u + v^P(x0, t) - au^τ, x ∈ Ω, t 〉 0, △u + v^P(x0, t) - bu^τ, x ∈ Ω, t 〉 0 subject to homogeneous Dirichlet conditions and nonnegative initial data, where x0 ∈ Ω is a fixed point, p, q, r, s ≥ 1 and a, b 〉 0 are constants. In the situation when nonnegative solution (u, v) of the above problem blows up in finite time, it is showed that the blow-up is global and this differs from the local sources case. Moreover, for the special case r = s = 1, lim t→T*(T*-t)^p+1/pq-1u(x,t)=(p+1)^1/pq-1(q+1)^p/pq-1(pq-1)^-p+1/pq-1, lim t→T*(T*-t)^q+1/pq-1u(x,t)=(p+1)^1/pq-1(q+1)^p/pq-1(pq-1)^-p+1/pq-1 are obtained uniformly on compact subsets of/2, where T* is the blow-up time.

文摘A South China Sea(SCS) local TC(SLT) is defined as a tropical cyclone(TC) that forms within the SCS region and can reach the grade of tropical storm(TS) or above. The maximum air-sea heat exchange always occurs at the left side of the TC moving direction, which may reflect the influence of the SCS summer monsoon on TC structure.

文摘The distributions of temperature and residual stresses in thin plates of BT20titanium alloy are numerically analyzed by three-dimensional finite element software duringelectron beam welding and electron beam local post-weld heat treatment (EBLPWHT). The numerical results alsoindicated that the magnitude of the residual longitudinal stresses of the weld and the zone vicinityof the weld is decreased, and the range of the residual longitudinal stresses is increased alongwith the increase of heating width and heating time.

文摘A two-dimensional(2D)laminar flow of nanofluids confined within a square cavity having localized heat source at the bottom wall has been investigated. The governing Navier–Stokes and energy equations have been non dimensionalized using the appropriate non dimensional variables and then numerically solved using finite volume method. The flow was controlled by a range of parameters such as Rayleigh number, length of heat source and nanoparticle volume fraction. The numerical results are represented in terms of isotherms, streamlines, velocity and temperature distribution as well as the local and average rate of heat transfer.A comparative study has been conducted for two different base fluids, ethylene glycol and water as well as for two different solids Cu and Al_(2)O_(3).It is found that the ethylene glycol-based nanofluid is superior to the water-based nanofluid for heat transfer enhancement.
文摘The differential quadrature method (DQM) has been applied successfully to solve numerically many problems in the fluid mechanics. The numerical results show that the ULDQM possesses advantages including well convergence, less computational workload and storage as compared with the low-order finite difference method.
文摘During initial studies of ECRH in the HL-1M tokamak, non-standard central MHD activities, such as saturated sawtooth, partially saturated sawtooth, double sawtooth, and the strong m = 1 bursts have been observed while changing the heating location, the ECRH power, the plasma density. Near the q = 1 surface, the passing electrons play the role of reducing the shear and tending to stabilize the sawtooth activity, while the barely-trapped electrons play the role of enhancing or driving an internal kink instability.
文摘Increased temperature of a solution increases its solubility, allowing for a greater level of dissolution of the solute. This study tested whether sinking rate in a solution with excess solute could be used to judge the temperature of an object and the effect was confirmed with impure Graphite blocks in a Potassium Iodide solution.
