Experimental investigation and life prediction for the load spectrum with flight mission characteristics on a P/M superalloy

The service load on high temperature rotating components of aero-engines generally exhibits flight mission characteristics. The general shape of the load spectrum is that Type Ⅲ/Ⅳ cyclic loading and creep loading are superimposed on Type Ⅰ cyclic loading. Meanwhile, the sequence of the Type Ⅲ/Ⅳ cyclic and creep loading varies with mission. This work performed load spectrum test with this characteristic on the Ni-based alloy FGH96. Then a life prediction method was developed based on the Chaboche fatigue damage accumulation model and a modified time fraction model. Creep followed by Fatigue (C-F) test was carried out to reveal the creep-fatigue interaction and calibrate parameters. The results show that most test results fall within the 2-fold deviation band. The sequence of creep-fatigue loading within the load spectrum exhibited a limited effect on life. Finally, simplified methods were developed to improve analysis efficiency, and cases where simplified methods could replace the proposed method were discussed. 展开更多

Based on the basic theory of mechanics,kinematic and dynamic analysis for a slider-crank mechanism with a balance mechanism is performed.The theoretical formula of the load spectrum for the interaction between the crank shaft and the bearing seat of the upper beam is achieved by approximately simplifying the mechanical model of the crank shaft.The simulation for the load spectrum data of combined frame under the operating conditions of blanking or piling is performed using Matlab and the law of the load spectrum curves under these two conditions is analyzed.The simulation results show that under a no-load condition,the load spectrum curves of the interaction between the crank shaft and the bearing seat of the upper beam present a form of periodic sine wave and under the piling condition,the load spectrum curves of the interaction between the crank shaft and the bearing seat of the upper beam present a form of periodic pulse wave.The simulation results can provide a theoretical foundation for the load determination during the process of analyzing the dynamic characteristics on the combined frame of a closed high-speed press through the finite element method. 展开更多

In order to overcome this drawback, the rain-flow and reverse rain-flow counting method is proposed in this paper. In this counting method, the rule for counting of the rain-flow method is modified, so that the sequence of load-time need not be adjusted. For the randomness of crane working load leading to the decrease of load spectrum prediction accuracy with time,an adaptive TSSA-HKRVM model for crane load spectrum regression prediction is proposed.The heterogeneous kernel relevance vector machine model(HKRVM)with comprehensive expression ability is established using the complementary advantages of various kernel functions.The combination strategy consisting of refraction reverse learning,golden sine,and Cauchy mutation+logistic chaotic perturbation is introduced to form a multi-strategy improved sparrow algorithm(TSSA),thus optimizing the relevant parameters of HKRVM.The adaptive updatingmechanismof the heterogeneous kernel RVMmodel under themulti-strategy improved sparrow algorithm(TSSA-HKMRVM)is defined by the sliding window design theory.Based on the sample data of the measured load spectrum,the trained adaptive TSSA-HKRVMmodel is employed to complete the prediction of the crane equivalent load spectrum.Applying this method toQD20/10 t×43m×12mgeneral bridge crane,the results show that:compared with other prediction models,although the complexity of the adaptive TSSA-HKRVMmodel is relatively high,the prediction accuracy of the load spectrum under long periods has been effectively improved,and the completeness of the load information during thewhole life cycle is relatively higher,with better applicability. 展开更多

Synchronous acceleration method of the load spectrum for tractor rotary tillage based on wavelet transform 被引量:1

The small load cycle dominates the load spectrum,resulting in inefficient laboratory-based accelerated reliability testing of tractors.While most traditional editing methods focus on accelerating single-type loading spectrum,few are suitable for multi-type loading spectra.This paper proposes a synchronization acceleration method for the rotary tillage load spectrum based on wavelet transform.The method decomposes the power take-off(PTO)torque load data and suspension load data using Daubechies wavelet basis functions,calculates the square sum of cumulative wavelet components at each scale,and identifies large damage segments through threshold setting and Hilbert envelope analysis.Acceleration of the rotary tillage load spectrum is then achieved based on time-domain synchronization.In addition,to measure the acceleration efficiency of load spectrum and find the optimal acceleration parameters suitable for tractor tillage load spectra,a pseudo-damage acceleration efficiency(PDAE)index is proposed to evaluate the acceleration effect.Ultimately,through data comparison,the optimal acceleration parameters suitable for tractor tillage operation load spectra are determined.After acceleration,the time retention ratio of the rotary tillage load spectrum is 85.27%,the damage retention ratio of the PTO torque load spectrum is 97.14%,and the damage retention ratio of the suspension load spectrum is 96.94%.Compared to the damage retention acceleration method,the wavelet acceleration method saves an additional 10.07%of time while maintaining the effectiveness of the load spectrum.This study can provide a reference for accelerating the load spectrum of agricultural machinery and has significant implications for the field of accelerated reliability testing applications. 展开更多

In the fabrication and monitoring of parts in composite structures,which are being used more and more in a variety of engineering applications,the prediction and fatigue failure detection in composite materials is a difficult problem.This difficulty arises from several factors,such as the lack of a comprehensive investigation of the fatigue failure phenomena,the lack of a well-defined fatigue damage theory used for fatigue damage prediction,and the inhomogeneity of composites because of their multiple internal borders.This study investigates the fatigue behavior of carbon fiber reinforced with epoxy(CFRE)laminated composite plates under spectrum loading utilizing a uniqueDeep LearningNetwork consisting of a convolutional neural network(CNN).Themethod includes establishing Finite Element Model(FEM)in a plate model under a spectrum fatigue loading.Then,a CNN is trained for fatigue behavior prediction.The training phase produces promising results,showing the model’s performance with 94.21%accuracy,92.63%regression,and 91.55%F-score.To evaluate the model’s reliability,a comparison is made between fatigue data from the CNN and the FEM.It was found that the error band for this comparison is less than 0.3878MPa,affirming the accuracy and reliability of the proposed technique.The proposed method results converge with available experimental results in the literature,thus,the study suggests the broad applicability of this method to other different composite structures. 展开更多

As the outfield load spectrum is so complicated that it cannot be used directly for test study in laboratory.This paper presents a method to determine load spectrum for high and low cycle combined fatigue of turbine mortise at elevated temperature through experimental and numerical method.First of all,the low cycle load spectrum with duration time is determined through cumulative damage rule.The rain flow counting method is applied to obtain main cycles and sub cycles,and then the stress cycle is converted into pulsation cycle(stress ratio=0)based on the S-N curve and the Goodman curve;Secondly,three groups of different amplitudes tests are established to determine the high cycle amplitude.Finally,another three groups of the high-low combined cycle fatigue(HLCCF)tests for turbine mortise of a certain type engine are carried out.The results show that the macro and micro failure modes are identical with outfield's,which verifies the accuracy of the conversion method. 展开更多

The aim of this study was to analyze the effects of the planting distance and depth on the power take-off(PTO)load spectrum of a small riding-type transplanter for the optimal design of the transplanter.To measure load data during actual planting operation,a load measurement system was developed using a torque sensor,a data acquisition system,and an inverter.Field experiments were conducted at four planting distances(26 cm,35 cm,43 cm,and 80 cm)and three planting depths(85 mm,105 mm,and 136 mm)in a field with similar soil conditions.The measured load data were inverted into a load spectrum using rain-flow counting and Smith-Watson-Topper(SWT)methods.The safety factor of a transplanter according to the planting conditions was analyzed using the converted load spectrum and commercial software.The load spectrum for all planting conditions showed torque ratios similar within a high cycle region of 108 to 109.The torque ratio increased when the planting depth increased and planting distance decreased in the low cycle region under less than 108 cycles.The safety factors of the PTO driving gear and the driven gear increased as the planting distance increased at all planting depths.When the planting depth decreased at the same planting distance,the safety factor of the PTO gears increased.The results of this study might provide useful information for a transplanter PTO design considering the working load according to the various planting conditions. 展开更多

The rainflow counting method is a reasonable cyclecounting procedure for fatigue life calculation and simulation testing of structures.It defines cycles as closed stress /strain hysteresis loops.Application of the rainflow counting method requires a data processing of the loading spectrum,which consists of the elimination of non-peak value data points,load time histories adjustment and loop extraction.In the data processing of the loading spectrum,if a stress point is neither the peak nor the valley,it will be identified and eliminated from the loading spectrum.Generally,the loading process is idealized as a single peak-valley straight line.But in actually,there are polylines or nearly straight lines between peaks and valleys which can't be ignored.Therefore,in the process of eliminating such data points,it will produce error in method itself.To reduce the error produced by the traditional method itself,a new method which can well simplify the polylines in data processing of loading spectrum is proposed in this paper.Comparing with the original approximation method,the proposed method has higher precision. 展开更多

Sediment load estimation is generally required for study and development of water resources system. In this regard, artificial neural network (ANN) is the most widely used modeling tool especially in data-constraint regions. This research attempts to combine SSA (singular spectrum analysis) with ANN, hereafter called SSA-ANN model, with expectation to improve the accuracy of sediment load predicted by the existing ANN approach. Two different catchments located in the Lower Mekong Basin (LMB) were selected for the study and the model performance was measured by several statistical indices. In comparing with ANN, the proposed SSA-ANN model shows its better performance repeatedly in both catchments. In validation stage, SSA-ANN is superior for larger Nash-Sutcliffe Efficiency about 24% in Ban Nong Kiang catchment and 7% in Nam Mae Pun Luang catchment. Other statistical measures of SSA-ANN are better than those of ANN as well. This improvement reveals the importance of SSA which filters noise containing in the raw time series and transforms the original input data to be near normal distribution which is favorable to model simulation. This coupled model is also recommended for the prediction of other water resources variables because extra input data are not required. Only additional computation, time series decomposition, is needed. The proposed technique could be potentially used to minimize the costly operation of sediment measurement in the LMB which is relatively rich in hydrometeorological records. 展开更多

抽水蓄能电站机组在反复启停和变负荷运行状态下,钢蜗壳结构承受的静水压力会大幅度变化,长期作用下蜗壳可能发生低周疲劳破坏。以某抽水蓄能电站为例,在ABAQUS中完成了钢蜗壳结构的有限元仿真分析,再基于2016年全年水位监测数据编制不... 抽水蓄能电站机组在反复启停和变负荷运行状态下,钢蜗壳结构承受的静水压力会大幅度变化,长期作用下蜗壳可能发生低周疲劳破坏。以某抽水蓄能电站为例,在ABAQUS中完成了钢蜗壳结构的有限元仿真分析,再基于2016年全年水位监测数据编制不同时间长度的原型载荷谱,并在nCode Designlife平台利用雨流计数法对其处理计算,对比了原型载荷谱、处理后的载荷谱及几种极端情况下载荷谱计算得到的疲劳寿命。结果表明:(1)抽水蓄能电站充水保压蜗壳与混凝土间的间隙闭合存在一定的滞后性,与常规电站大直径充水保压蜗壳的间隙闭合规律相似,可能对抗疲劳性能不利。(2)低周疲劳载荷谱可采用雨流计数或常幅值简化编制方式,但对水位消落深度较大的电站,还需要进一步探索可靠的输入方式。(3)在电站运行期内,钢蜗壳无低周疲劳失效风险。研究结果可对钢蜗壳抗疲劳设计载荷的选取提供帮助。 展开更多

We demonstrate that the dynamic load spectra can be identified from the response signal of the system, based on cepstra. An ARMA model is built based on the harmonic retrieval by high-order spectra. The load spectrum of the main bearing of tunnel boring machine( TBM) is difficult to establish because of the complex factors affecting the driving load of tunneling. In this paper, a simulation model of dynamic load of cutterhead is established,with a view to structural features and special conditions, based on a complex combination stratum, the cutter layout model and cutterhead control parameters,and it is a dynamic load boundary of the main drive bearing. Combined with the load distribution calculation of the main bearing and Hertz contact theory, the prediction model of dynamic load spectrum of the main drive bearing is completed during tunneling,and in accordance with the predicted results,the static and dynamics characteristics of load spectrum for the main drive bearing on the thrust and tilting moment are analyzed. The results of cutterhead load show that,in the certain complex stratum, the fluctuations of load for thrust rollers can reflect formation interface information of complex stratum in current tunneling. The main drive bearing bear the thrust and overturning moment of cutterhead under the composite,the external load has a greater influence on the load-spectrum of reverse thrust roller than that of main thrust roller,and the maximum contact stress of the two row roller is almost the same. The load spectrum,obtained by this method,can provide a meaningful reference for the design and checking of the main drive bearing,and also can be the basis of its fatigue reliability. 展开更多

The simplification of fatigue load spectrum,which can effectively reduce experimental cost,is of great importance for structural fatigue tests.By introducing random variables,the probabilistic tolerance method of removing small amplitude cycles proposed in this paper takes into account the randomness of both load and fatigue limit.The probability of the damage occurrence caused by the removed small loads is calculated to ensure that it cannot exceed the given probabilistic tolerance.Accordingly,the omission level is obtained and the truncated spectrum is formed.The unnotched aluminum sheet specimens are used to perform the fatigue test on the original fatigue spectrum and truncated fatigue spectrum of a transporter.The test results show that there is no statistical difference between the test life of the truncated spectrum and that of the original spectrum,which demonstrates the validity of the small-load-omitting method that considers randomness. 展开更多

Tests with middle-crack tension (M(T)) specimens made of Al 2324-T39 and Al 7050-T7451 are conducted to investigate the influence of low load truncation level on fatigue crack growth. The six different truncated spectra are obtained by removing the small cycles of which amplitudes are less than the specified percentages of the maximum amplitude in the basic flight-by-flight loading spectrum and the remainder of the spectrum is untouched. The tests indicate that the mean level of fatigue crack growth life (FCGL) increases as the load truncation level is enhanced. Considering both the time saving and the influence on FCGL, there is an applicable choice (i.e. spectrum S2 or spectrum S3 in this investigation) for full scale fatigue test. The scatter of FCGL becomes much larger than that under the basic spectrum when the load truncation level is increased to a specified high level, mainly due to the occurrence of crack slanting and branching under the high level truncated loading spectra. 展开更多

背景:上肢工作相关肌肉骨骼疾患因对个人健康和社会经济的危害而备受关注,而肌肉疲劳是主要诱因。目的:通过幅频联合分析法探讨姿势和负荷交互效应对静态上肢作业中肌肉疲劳特征的影响,为上肢工作相关肌肉骨骼疾患的预防提供多维度生物... 背景:上肢工作相关肌肉骨骼疾患因对个人健康和社会经济的危害而备受关注,而肌肉疲劳是主要诱因。目的:通过幅频联合分析法探讨姿势和负荷交互效应对静态上肢作业中肌肉疲劳特征的影响,为上肢工作相关肌肉骨骼疾患的预防提供多维度生物力学依据。方法:14名健康受试者执行肩关节前屈20°,40°,60°的静态任务,任务负荷设置为其最大重复次数(1RM)的10%,30%和50%。同步采集表面肌电信号及Borg主观疲劳感知评估量表数据。采用幅频联合分析计算均方根斜率和中位频率斜率量化肌肉疲劳程度;应用配对样本t检验分析疲劳前后的疲劳状态占比;采用方差分析评估姿势、负荷及其交互效应对疲劳状态占比的影响。结果与结论:①姿势-负荷组合会显著影响作业耐受性(P<0.05),60°50%最大重复次数组合最大保持时间最短(P<0.001);②特定组合下疲劳前后肌肉疲劳状态改变:20°10%最大重复次数组合下,冈上肌和斜方肌上部疲劳状态占比显著下降(P<0.05);40°10%最大重复次数组合下,斜方肌上部疲劳状态占比差异极显著(P<0.01);③姿势与负荷对肌肉疲劳的影响相互独立,在20°姿势下,三角肌前束的疲劳占比在10%最大重复次数与30%最大重复次数、10%最大重复次数与50%最大重复次数的负荷对比中有显著性差异(P<0.05);而在10%最大重复次数负荷条件下,三角肌前束及中束的疲劳占比仅在20°与60°角度间、在疲劳前与全程阶段表现出显著性差异(P<0.05);④姿势与负荷无显著交互效应(P>0.05);⑤提示高负荷与高角度显著加速肌肉疲劳;姿势与负荷独立影响疲劳进程,二者交互效应不显著;幅频联合分析对于姿势与负荷影响下的肌肉疲劳特征敏感性有限。 展开更多
