Assembly data base stores the geometric models of indi-vidual parts, the spatial positions and orientations of the parts in the assembly, and the relationships between parts. An assembly of parts can be represented by its liaison which has a description of its relationships between the various parts in the assembly. The problem is to not only make the information available but also use the relevant information for making decisions, especially determination of the assembly sequence plan. The method described in this paper ex-tracts the feature based assembly information from CAD models of products and build up liaisons to facilitate assembly planning applications. The system works on the assumption that the designer explicitly defines joints and mating condi-tions. Further, a computer representation of mechanical assemblies in the form of liaisons is necessary in order to automate the generation of assembly plans. A novel method of extracting the assembly information and representing them in the form of liaisons is presented in this paper.展开更多

We considered that the liaison conference played a useful role in both the clinical diagnosis and treatment. Furthermore, the liaison conference was useful for reducing the staff’s anxieties and for contributing to have a proper understanding for the disease. We suggest that a liaison conference should be implemented in pediatric units, for pediatric patients with emotional and behavioral problems.展开更多

Objective: The study was conducted to assess the implementation of a psychiatric consultation-liaison service (C-L) from the perspective of cost-savings, staff satisfaction, patient satisfaction and to assess the gene...Objective: The study was conducted to assess the implementation of a psychiatric consultation-liaison service (C-L) from the perspective of cost-savings, staff satisfaction, patient satisfaction and to assess the general features of patients referred to the C-L service. Methodology: Cost-savings were evaluated using a large cohort of referrals to the hospital were identified using data derived from the Institute of Clinical Evaluative Sciences (N = 2246);these data were divided into pre and post periods with respect to imitation of the C-L service. To evaluate staff satisfaction, 170 nurses and physicians completed an online survey. Patient satisfaction was assessed through a survey assessing various aspects of their experiences with the C-L service that was completed by each patient (N = 40). Finally referrals to the C-L service (N = 445) were analyzed to discern indicators of the C-L service’s efficacy (i.e. reasons for referral, time to accommodate referral). Results: The data indicated: 1) a reduction in the number of re-admissions and length of stay after the initiation of the C-L service translating into significant cost-savings for the hospital, 2) that increased staff satisfaction was associated with providing confidence, support, and improved communication, and 3) that the C-L service accommodated approximately 90% of patients within 1 day. Conclusion: The results of this study support stakeholders’ decisions to implement C-L services and also indicate areas of improvement that may improve the quality of C-L services within other institutions.展开更多

It takes the innovative service program based on an IC2 conceptualized program at Shanghai Jiao Tong University Library(thereafter abbreviated as SJTUL) as a concrete example to elucidate the merit of such an endeavor. Specifically, this paper discusses the particular development background, overall objectives and service contents of the IC2 motivated program at SJTUL. The 330MW co...The phase I unit of power plant was shut down, thus the public system operation unit in the plant is used for power supply. The modified technique greatly increased the power consumption of public system. The 330MW coal-fired unit has no competitive advantage, but the whole plant is forced to conduct single-machine operation because of social responsibility of heating and sludge mixing. The single-machine operation of power plant leads to a large off-grid power settlement amount, and it is impossible to carry out normal starting transformers maintenance, which influences the safety and business benefits of power plant. In this paper, the technique perfection of 6kV phase II and III auxiliary power system liaison is proposed to improve the flexibility of auxiliary power system and realize the mutual backup of two starting transformers, which greatly reduce the off-grid settlement power. Meanwhile, it can give full play to the role of energy storage assisted AGC frequency modulation system and improve the stability of power grid. After demonstration and practical operation test, the safety and economy are obviously improved.展开更多
