Left ventricular (LV) regional myocardial velocity along long- and short-axis in 31 HCM patients and 20 healthy subjects were analyzed by QTVI, and the regional myocardial systolic peak velocities (MVS) were measured. Mean MVS at each level including mitral annular, basal, middle and apical segments were calculated. The ratio of MVS along long-axis to that along short-axis (Ri) at basal and middle segments of the LV posterior wall and ventricular septum were calculated. The results showed that mean MVS was slower at each level including mitral annular, basal, middle and apical segments in the HCM patients than that in the healthy subjects (P〈0.01). There were no significant differences in mean MVS between obstructive and non-obstructive groups in HCM patients. MVS of all regional myocardial segments along long-axis in the HCM patients were significantly slower than that in the healthy subjects (P〈0.05), but there was no significant difference in MVS of all regional myocardial segments along long-axis between hypertrophied and non-hypertrophied group in the HCM patients. Ri was significantly lower in the HCM patients than that in the healthy subjects. The LV regional myocardial contractility along long-axis was impaired not only in the hypertrophied wall but also in the non-hypertrophied one in patients with HCM, suggesting that QTVI can assess accurately LV regional systolic function in patient with HCM and provides a novel means for an early diagnosis before and independent of hypertrophy.展开更多

This index, namely VHFI, was defined as the very high frequency (VHF) component of the power spectrum normalized to represent its relative value in proportion to the total power minus the very low frequency component. Methods Patients (n = 130) were divided into a study group, consisting 66 patients with decreased left ventricular systolic function, and a control group, consisting 64 patients with normal heart structure and function and without severe coronary artery stenosis (〈 50%). Results VHFI in the study group was significantly higher than that in the control group (19.17 ± 13.35 vs 11.37 ± 10.77, P 〈 0.001). Cardiac events occurred in 18 patients during follow-up (33.34 i 3.26 months). Defining the positive test as VHFI =15 and negative test as VHFI 〈15, achieved a sensitivity of 57.58% and a specificity of78.13% for predicting decreased left ventricular systolic function, and achieved a sensitivity of 66.67% and a specificity of 64.29% for predicting cardiac events. Univariate Cox regression analysis showed that positive VHFI test was an independent variable in predictive cardiac events. Conclusions The results suggest that VHFI is a useful tool for quick evaluation of left ventricular systolic function and prediction of prognosis展开更多

Their symptoms and prognosis worsen with increasing severity of MR. Percutaneous Mitra Clip® can be used safely to reduce the severity of MR even in patients with advanced heart failure and is associated with improved symptoms, quality of life and exercise tolerance. However, a few patients with very poor left ventricular systolic function may experience significant haemodynamic disturbance in the peri-procedural period. We present three such patients, highlighting some of the potential problems encountered and discuss their possible pathophysiological mechanisms and safety measures.展开更多

This study aims to reconstruct three dimen-sional modeling of the left ventricle (LV) in pa-tients with heart failure (HF) using CMRtools and thereby derive the LV functional indices. CMR images were acquired in 41 subjects (6 females) with heart failure (HF) and 12 normal controls (4 females). Five comparisons were made (i) nor-mal and dilated heart failure subjects, (ii) male and female normal heart, (iii) male and female dilated heart, (iv) male normal and dilated heart failure and (v) female normal and dilated heart failure. In HF, a significant higher values of EDV (320 刡 79 vs. 126 刡 22 ml, P&amp;lt;0.0001), ESV (255 刡 68 vs. 54 刡 12 ml, P&amp;lt;0.00001) and lower values of EF (20 刡 7 vs. 58 刡 5 %) were found compared that of normal control. There were significant difference on LV EDV and ESV between sex in both normal and HF subjects.展开更多

Methods: Routine echocardiographic parameters were measured in 30 hypertensive patients with SIS (SIS group) and 30 hypertensive patients without SIS (non-SIS group). The left ventricular segments and global LS were measured by 2D-STE, and the two sets of parameters were compared. Results: The value of the thickness of the basal segment of the interventricular septum (IVSBT), the thickness of the middle segment of the interventricular septum (IVSMT) and the ratio of the basal segment of the ventricular septum to the middle segment of the interventricular septum (IVSBT/IVSMT) in SIS group was higher than that in non-SIS group. However, the value of left ventricular outflow tract diameter (LVOTD) in SIS group was lower than that in non-SIS group. There was a significant difference between the two groups (all P Conclusion: SIS affects left ventricular regional systolic function of patients with hypertension. 2D-STE can early evaluate left ventricular longitudinal systolic function in hypertensive patients with SIS.展开更多

Methods Patients with coronary artery disease were divided into angina pectoris (11 cases) and myocardial infarction (21 cases) groups. Twenty age-matched normal subjects served as the control group. Septal, lateral, anterior, inferior, anteroseptal and posterior walls of the left ventricle were respectively scanned using color tissue Doppler imaging (TDI). Then SR and strain curves were derived from TDI for basal, middle and apical segments of each wall. SRI parameters were: Systolic SR (SRsys), systolic strain (εsys) and maximum strain (εmax). Results Compared with normal segments, SRsys, εsys and εmax decreased significantly in the infarct and ischemic segments (P<0.01). Compared with ischemic segments, SRsys, εsys and εmax decreased significantly in the infarct segments (P<0.05). Conclusions SRsys, εsys and εmax measured by SRI can be used to quantitatively analyze regional left ventricular systolic dysfunction in patients with coronary artery disease, and aid in differentiating infarct from ischemic myocardium.展开更多

Left ventricle systolic function in the long axis defined as longitudinal strain, and that in the short axis defined as radial strain, apical and basal LV rotations, and LV twist were assessed respectively. The results showed that average peak strain in the long axis at basal, middle and apical levels, and global peak strain were significantly decreased in the patient groups when compared with the control group (P〈0.001 for each). The parameters in DH group were significantly lower than those in DM group (P〈0.01 for each). There were no significant differences in average radial peak strain in the short axis at different levels, and global peak strain among the three groups (P〉0.05). Apical and basal LV rotations, and LV twist were greater in the patient groups than in the control group (P〈0.01 for each). Basal LV rotation and LV twist were greater in DH group than those in DM group (P〈0.01). It was concluded that STI may be used to identify early abnormalities in patients with type 2 DM that have normal left ventricular systolic function.展开更多

Our purpose was to investigate the effect of burden and origin sites on left ventricular (LV) function in patients with PVCs by 7-day Holter electrocardiography (ECG). From May 2012 to August 2013, 112 consecutive patients with PVCs were recruited from the authors' affiliated hospital. All patients received 2-dimensional transthoracic echocardiography, 12-lead routing ECG and 7-days Holter ECG. Serum N-terminal pro- brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) levels were measured. A total of 102 participants with PVCs were included in the final analysis. Origin of PVCs from the tricuspid annulus had the highest burden and NT-proBNP level. LV papillary muscle had a higher LV ejection fraction (EF) level and a lower LV end-systolic dimension (ESD) than other PVC foci (P〈0.05). The high burden group had a higher LV end-diastolic dimension (EDD) and LVESD but lower LVEF than the other two groups (P〈0.05). Female, older age, physical work, and history of PVCs had a significantly positive correlation with symptoms. Male, older age, physical work, and high burden were positive predictors of enlarged LVEDD, LVESD and higher serum NT-proBNP level, but lower LVEF. Seven-day dynamic ECG Holter monitor showed the true PVC burden on patients with PVCs. PVCs with a lower burden or origin from the LV papillary muscle and the fascicle were relatively benign, while PVCs with a higher burden or origin from the tricuspid annulus may lead to cardiac dysfunction.展开更多

RV “Full volume” images were acquired by RT3DE in 22 healthy subjects. RV end-diastolic volumes (RVEDV) and end-systolic volumes (RVESV) were outlined using apical biplane, 4-plane, 8-plane, 16-plane offline separately. RVSV and RVEF were calculated. Meanwhile tricuspid annual systolic excursion (TASE) was measured by M-mode echo. LVSV was outlined by 2-D echo according to the biplane Simpson's rule. The results showed: (1) There was a good correlation between RVSV measured from series planes and LVSV from 2-D echo (r=0.73; r=0.69; r=0.63; r=0.66, P<0.25—0.0025); (2) There were significant differences between RVEDV in biplane and those in 4-, 8-, 16-plane (P<0.001). There was also difference between RV volume in 4-plane and that in 8-plane (P<0.05), but there was no significant difference between RV volume in 8-plane and that in 16-plane (P>0.05); (3) Inter-observers and intro-observers variability analysis showed that there were close agreements and relations for RV volumes (r=0.986, P<0.001; r=0.93, P<0.001); (4) There was a significantly positive correlation of TASE to RVSV and RVEF from RT3DE (r=0.83; r=0.90). So RV volume measures with RT3DE are rapid, accurate and reproducible. In view of RV's complex shape, apical 8-plane method is better in clinical use. It may allow early detection of RV systolic function.展开更多

Apical four-chamber view was observed for washin and washout of contrast agent from right ventricle. The parameters of TIC were obtained by curve fitting. The differences of parameters were analyzed in different states of cardiac functions. Among the parameters derived from TIC, the time constant (k) was decreased significantly with decline of cardiac function (P<0.001). But half-time of decent of peak intensity (HT) and mean-transit-time (MTT) of washout were increased significantly (P<0.001). The k was strongly related to cardiac output of right ventricle (CO) and ejection fraction (EF) of left ventricle and fractional shortening (FS) of left ventricle. Right ventricular systolic function could be assessed reliably by the parameters derived from TIC with right ventricular contrast echocardiography. The k, HT and MTT are reliable indices for quantitative assessment of right ventricular systolic function.展开更多

Methods We examined 50 healthy subjects(range 12-42 years, mean age 28.3 ± 6.9 years)using pulsed Doppler tissue imaging to characterize the diastolic and systolic velocity profiles of mitral annulus. Recordings were made along the long axis in the apical 4-chamber, 2-chamber, and long apical views of 6 sites(posterior-septum, lateral, anterior, inferior, anterior-septum, posterior)at the mitral annulus. Myocardial velocities were determined with use of variance F statistical analysis. Correlation analysis was employed to test the relationship between age and mitral annular velocities. Results Both early diastolic and systolic velocities at the septum were lower than other sites. There were no differences in mitral annulus late diastolic velocities. Mean early diastolic and systolic velocities was negatively correlated with age. Conclusions Doppler tissue imaging can directly reflect regional left ventricular function.展开更多

The detennina-tion of cardiac perfonnance in vivo showed that supplementation with fish oil(EPA and DHA,70%,1.4 ml / kg) had no significant effect on basal cardiac perfonnance, while it could significantly inhibit changes of+ dp / dt_(max),V_(pm) and HR induced by ISO(0.4μg/ kg,4.0μg/ kg,40μg/ kg)intrave-nously.The results suggested that supplementation with fish oil perhaps affected the function of β-adrenoceptors on rat myocardial membrane.展开更多

Materials and Methods: This was an observational, single centre study conducted in India. A total of 50 patients who were admitted to department of cardiology from July, 2008 to February, 2009 with diagnosis of dilated cardiomyopathy and an ejection fraction of <40% were included. Results: Of the 50 patients, 34 (68%) were males. 27 (54%) patients were in NYHA class II and 23 (46%) patients were in NYHA class III. LA volume was found to be ≥40 ml in all patients. LV function and LA volume were found to be correlated (r = -0.789, p < 0.01). Similarly, there was a correlation between LV function and LA volume index (r = -0.826, p < 0.01). There was no correlation between LA volume index and duration of symptoms (r = 0.04). Conclusion: It can be concluded that there is a strong inverse correlation between LA volume and left ventricular function and also between LA volume index and left ventricular function. The patients with NYHA class III were having larger left atrial volume than those with NYHA class II. Moreover, the duration of symptoms has no correlation with left atrial volume index.展开更多

Methods A total of 125 consecutive subjects with acute anterior wall myocardial infarction were selected, and divided into diabetes mellitus (DM) group ( n = 43) and Non-DM group ( n = 82) according to WHO diabetes diagnosis criteria. All patients received successful PCI at 12 ± 8 days from onset. Ischemic viable myocardium was detected with low-dose dobutamine echocardiography, and left ventricular function and wall motion abnormality were also assessed with echocardiography before PCI. The data of clinical manifestations and angiograms before and after PCI were analyzed. Levels of creatinine kinase-MB (CK-MB), and troponin T (TnT) before PCI, 6 hours and 24 hours after PCI were assessed. All patients received clinic and echocardiography follow-up for 6 months. Results Higher rate of TIMI 2 flow, and lower rate of TIMI 3 flow in DM group were demonstrated immediately after PCI, and the rate of serum CK-MB and/or TnT levels were higher in DM group, compared with Non-DM group(P 〈 0.05). 63% of DM patients and 56% of non-DM patients had viable myocardium before PCI( P 〉 0. 05). There were no significant differences of left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), left ventricular end diastolic volume index (LVEDVI), left ventricular end systolic volume index (LVESVI), and wall motion score (WMS) between two groups at baseline before PCI(P 〉 0.05). After six months, WMS was decreased and LVEF was increased in Non-DM group, but the WMS and the LVEF did not changed, and the LVEDVI was increased in DM group compared with baseline; the LVEDVI, LVESVI, LVEF, and WMS were significantly different between two groups (P 〈 0.05 or P 〈 0. 01 ). Conclusions Compared with non-diabetics, delayed successful revascularization with PCI in diabetics patient with acute myocardial infarction has less benefitial effect on the improvement of late phase left ventricular function, and it may be because the insufficient reperfusion or reperfusion injury to myocardium but not the viable myocardium contributing to the poor result. Methods With custom - made software the aortic and pulmonic flow profiles were digitized andconverted to their 4V2 curves, their maximum value of the first derivative, max (dk/dt) were obtained separately in23 and 25patients with congenital heart disease (mean age 4.5 years). Aortic max(dk/dt) and pulmonic max(dk/dt)measured by Doppler were compared with left ventricular max(dp/dt) and right ventricular max(dp/dt) measuredby cardiac catheterization. Results Aortic max(dk/dt) correlated well with LV max(dp/dt) (r=0.817, P<0.001).An excellent correlation of pulmonic max(dk/dt) with RV max(dp/dt) was established (r=0.926, P<0.0001). Therewas a significant correlation between RVSP and RV max(dp/dt) (r= 0.839, P<0.0001). Conclusion Doppler - derived aortic max(dk/dt) and pulmonic max(dk/dt) could be reliable index of left ventricular contractility and rightventricular contractility respectively. When max(dp/dt) is used for assessing RV systolic function, the impact ofRVSP on that should be taken into consideration.展开更多

Methods: Twenty-four patients with coronary artery disease were enrolled, twelve of which received OPCAB and the others underwent ONCAB. Left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), E/A ratio at mitral orifice and Tel index were measured using transthoracic echocardiography before surgery and 3-7 days, 1 month, 3 months and 6 months after surgery. Results:Tel index of both groups decreased 3-7 days after surgery, with OPCAB group's lower than ONCAB group's. The difference between pre-and post-OPCAB was significant (P〈0.01), but not for ONCAB group (P〈0.05). Tel index of ONCAB decreased more significant than that of OPCAB 1 month after surgery, there was statistical difference between 3-7 days and 1 month after surgery in ONCAB (P〈0.01). Afterwards, Tel index of the 2 groups decreased steadily with no significant difference between them at other time points. LVEF and E/A ratio decreased at first, then increased gradually, with no statistical differences between the 2 groups at all time points. Conclusion: The recovery of left ventricular function after OPCAB is earlier than ONCAB. 文摘BACKGROUND Chronic heart failure(CHF)is a severe cardiovascular disease that significantly threatens human health.Depression,a common comorbidity, may substantially impact cardiac structure and function. However, the exact relationship between depression and cardiac remodeling and left ventricular functional changes remains incompletely understood. This study sets out to explore, with a clinically grounded perspective, how depressive states may subtly or profoundly influence the trajectory of cardiac remodeling and the functional dynamics of the left ventricle in individuals grappling with CHF.Beyond mere observation,it also aims to untangle the underlying physiological or neurohormonal pathways that might bridge emotional distress and cardiac dysfunction.AIM To delve into how depressive symptoms might shape the progression of cardiac remodeling and impair left ventricular function among individuals living with CHF.Particular attention is given to the role of inflammatory signaling and disruptions in neuroendocrine balance as possible mediating factors.By examining these intertwined physiological and psychological processes, the study seeks to shed light on the reciprocal link between emotional distress and CHF,offering insights that may inform more precise,mechanism-based treatment strategies.METHODS In this retrospective clinical trial,248 patients diagnosed with CHF were analyzed in the tertiary treatment center between January 2018 and December 2022.According to Hamilton's Depression Scale score, participants were classified into two cohort of depression(score 17)and no significant depression characteristics(score 17).Cardiac morphology and functional parameters were assessed using a combination of hyperechocardiocardiocardiography, heart magnetic resonance, and associated blood biomarkers.RESULTS The results of this study underscore the significant effects that depression can have on both the structure and function of the heart in patients with CHF.In particular, the individuals in the cohort with depression were 42.3%±6.7%of the individuals without depression vs 51.6%±5.9%,P<0.01)In comparison, the left ventricular ejection fraction,an important measure of contractional performance, was significantly reduced, underlining the harmful physiological interaction between mood disorders and cardiac efficiency. The measurement of the left ventricular end-diastolic diameter showed a significant expansion of the ventricular envelope in the depression group(68.2±7.5 mm vs 59.6±6.3 mm,P<0.01).Inflammatory markers, including high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP)and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),were significantly elevated in the depressed group(hs-CRP:8.7±2.3 mg/L vs 4.5±1.6 mg/L;TNF-α:42.5±7.6 pg/mL vs 28.3±5.4 pg/mL).Both B-type natriuretic peptide(1256±345 pg/mL vs 756±234 pg/mL)and angiotensin II(86.4±15.7 ng/mL vs 62.5±12.3 ng/mL)levels were significantly higher in the depressed group.CONCLUSION Among people with CHF,the presence of depressive symptoms appears to be closely related to pronounced changes in heart structure and impaired functional abilities. It is likely that depressive states contribute to the progress of heart reform and deterioration of left stomach function, possibly due to increased inflammatory cascades and increased activation of neuroendocrine regulatory pathways.
文摘BACKGROUND Permanent pacemaker implantation has the potential to impact left ventricular(LV)function and hence quality of life(QoL)in the long term.AIM To assess the effect of single-and dual-chamber pacing on LV function and QoL.METHODS This study included 56 patients who underwent permanent pacing:Dual pacing, dual sensing, dual responsive and rate responsive(DDDR)for the initial 3 months, ventricular sensing, inhibited response and rate responsive(VVIR)for the next 3 months, and DDDR mode for the last 3 months.Throughout the study period, various echocardiographic parameters, functional status, and QoL were measured to assess the impact of pacing on LV function compared with baseline and at every 3 months interval.RESULTS A significant change appeared in cardiac function after VVIR pacing which was in diastolic properties of LV as shown by increase in isovolumic relaxation time from(85.28±9.54 ms)to(89.53±9.65 ms).At the 3-,6-,and 9-month follow-up,reduction in LV ejection fraction was observed to be 62.71±4.66%,61.07±4.41%,and 58.48±3.89%,respectively.An increase in the QoL scores was noted at every follow-up visit.CONCLUSION An apparent depressant effect on LV function due to right ventricular pacing, with a higher incidence of adverse outcomes in the VVIR mode.In addition,an upsurge in QoL scores for the study population was noted, which indicates improvement in the QoL of patients post-pacing,irrespective of the mode.Generally, the DDDR mode is a highly preferable pacing mode.
文摘The left ventricular regional systolic functions in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) were assessed by using quantitative tissue velocity imaging (QTVI). The LV regional myocardial contractility along long-axis was impaired not only in the hypertrophied wall but also in the non-hypertrophied one in patients with HCM, suggesting that QTVI can assess accurately LV regional systolic function in patient with HCM and provides a novel means for an early diagnosis before and independent of hypertrophy.
文摘Objective A novel index based on fi-equency-domain analysis of heart rate variability (HRV) was tested on patients with reduced left ventricular systolic function. Conclusions The results suggest that VHFI is a useful tool for quick evaluation of left ventricular systolic function and prediction of prognosis
文摘Many patients with left ventricular systolic dysfunction have concomitant mitral regurgitation(MR). We present three such patients, highlighting some of the potential problems encountered and discuss their possible pathophysiological mechanisms and safety measures.
文摘Cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) has become a reference standard for the measure-ment of cardiac volumes, function, and mass. There were significant difference on LV EDV and ESV between sex in both normal and HF subjects.
文摘Objective: To evaluate left ventricular regional and global systolic function by measuring left ventricular longitudinal strain (LS) in hypertensive patients with sigmoid-shaped interventricular septum (SIS) by two-dimensional speckle tracking (2D-STE);in order to explore whether the sigmoid-shaped interventricular septum affects the left ventricular systolic function in patients with hypertension. 2D-STE can early evaluate left ventricular longitudinal systolic function in hypertensive patients with SIS.
文摘Objectives To detect and compare the systolic strain rate (SR) and strain in the infarct and ischemic myocardium by strain rate imaging (SRI), in order to explore the clinical value of SRI in evaluating regional left ventricular systolic dysfunction. Conclusions SRsys, εsys and εmax measured by SRI can be used to quantitatively analyze regional left ventricular systolic dysfunction in patients with coronary artery disease, and aid in differentiating infarct from ischemic myocardium.
文摘To investigate the value of ultrasound speckle tracking imaging (STI) in the assessment of the short-axis and long-axis systolic function of the left ventricle (LV) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM), 100 subjects with normal ejection fraction were studied, including 41 patients with DM only (DM group), 22 patients with both DM and left ventricular hypertrophy (DH group), and 37 healthy subjects (control group). It was concluded that STI may be used to identify early abnormalities in patients with type 2 DM that have normal left ventricular systolic function.

文摘Recent studies have shown that premature ventricular contractions (PVCs) could enlarge the heart, but its risk factors are incompletely understood as a single 24-hour recording cannot reflect the true PVC burden due to day-to-day variability. PVCs with a lower burden or origin from the LV papillary muscle and the fascicle were relatively benign, while PVCs with a higher burden or origin from the tricuspid annulus may lead to cardiac dysfunction.
文摘The optimal plane for measurement of the right ventricular (RV) volumes by real-time three-dimensional echocardiography (RT3DE) was determined and the feasibility and accuracy of RT3DE in studying RV systolic function was assessed. It may allow early detection of RV systolic function.
文摘Summary: To study reliability and reliable indices of quantitative assessment of right ventricular systolic function by time-intensity curve (TIC) with right ventricular contrast, 5 % sonicated human albumin was injected intravenously at a does of 0.08 ml/kg into 10 dogs at baseline status and cardiac insufficiency. The k, HT and MTT are reliable indices for quantitative assessment of right ventricular systolic function.
文摘Objective To examine the clinical application of pulsed Doppler tissue imaging(DTI)for regional left ventricular function assessment in normal subjects. Conclusions Doppler tissue imaging can directly reflect regional left ventricular function.
文摘The effect of fish oil on the basal left ventricular function and changes of left ventricular function induced by isoproterenol(ISO)were demonstrated in our study. The detennina-tion of cardiac perfonnance in vivo showed that supplementation with fish oil(EPA and DHA,70%,1.4 ml / kg) had no significant effect on basal cardiac perfonnance, while it could significantly inhibit changes of+ dp / dt_(max),V_(pm) and HR induced by ISO(0.4μg/ kg,4.0μg/ kg,40μg/ kg)intrave-nously.The results suggested that supplementation with fish oil perhaps affected the function of β-adrenoceptors on rat myocardial membrane.
文摘Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of long-term treatment with arotinolol in patients with idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy(IDCM).Methods Sixty-three patients with IDCM were evaluated at baseline and after 12-month therapy with arotinolol. The conventional therapy for congestive heart failure was continued throughout the study with arotinolol as the only β-blocker.Left ventricular function was assessed with the New York Heart Association functional class and two-dimensional echocardiography. Results After 12-month arotinolol treatment, there was a significant improvement in left ventricular systolic function.Left ventricular end-systolic dimension significantly decreased from 59.52±8.83 mm to 50.89±8.17 mm(P<0.001).Left ventricular ejection fraction significantly increased from 27.39%±7.94% to 41.13%±9.45%(P<0.001).Left ventricular mass index decreased from 150.47±42.42 g/m2 to 141.58±34.36 g/m2(P<0.01).No adverse events leading to premature discontinuation of study drug occurred. Conclusion In this preliminary study,12-month arotinolol treatment has a favorable effect on left ventricular function in patients with IDCM,and it is safe and well tolerated.
文摘Background: The aim of this study was to determine the relation of left atrial (LA) volume and LA volume index with left ventricular function and to determine the association of duration of symptoms and left atrial volume index in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy. Moreover, the duration of symptoms has no correlation with left atrial volume index.

文摘Objectives To compare the different effects of late successful reperfusion with PCI on left ventricular function and its relationship with viable myocardium after acute anterior wall myocardial infarction in patients with or without diabetes. 文摘Objective This study attempted to seek a new Doppler-derived index for estimating ventricularsystolic function. When max(dp/dt) is used for assessing RV systolic function, the impact ofRVSP on that should be taken into consideration.

文摘Objective: To compare function recovery of left ventricle after off-pump and on-pump coronary artery bypass (OPCAB and ONCAB) using Tel index. Tel index is more sensitive than LVEF and E/A ratio in detecting cardiac function recoveries and can be considered as an accurate and simple method to evaluate left ventricular systolic and diastolic function.

文摘Background Evaluation of left ventricular function plays a vital role in the study of hemodynamics in the circulatory system. This study investigated the feasibility of measuring left ventricular function in rats with catheterization at the apex of the heart. Methods Left carotid catheterization was used to monitor artery pressure, then right carotid-ventricular catheterization and apical catheterization were orderly performed in 20 SD rats to observe the changes of left heart function.Heart rate, carotid arterial pressure, left ventricular peak pressure, left ventricular end-diastolic pressure were recorded by the biological function experiment system, and differential calculations analyzed the systolic and diastolic rate of left ventricular pressure. Results The peak left ventricular pressure was statistically different between when measured by right carotid-ventricle catheterization and by catheterization at the apex of heart(120.7±14.46 mmHg vs.114.04±12.01 mmHg,P<0.05).There was a significant difference in the carotid artery pressure between when the left ventricular function was measured by right carotid-ventricular catheterization and by apical catheterization(115.6±11.24 mmHg vs.108.07±12.33 mmHg,P<0.05),while a different statistical scenario existed for the maximum increase rate of left ventricular pressure(6197.89±1123.28 mmHg/s vs.5985.92±1342.81 mmHg/s,P>0.05);30 min later, the left ventricular pressure and the maximum increase rate of left ventricular pressure were not significantly different between the first and second measurement measured by catheterization at the apex of heart(114.04±12.01 mmHg vs.112.06±11.26 mmHg,5985.92±1342.81 mmHg/s vs.5700.86±598.97 mmHg/s,P>0.05).However,the maximum decline rate of left ventricular pressure was slightly lower compared with the previous measurement(5231.14±1302.57 mmHg/s vs.4862.72±610.49 mmHg/s,P<0.05).Conclusions It is feasible to evaluate cardiac function in rats by catheterization at the apex of heart, and it is superior to right carotid catheterization for its simpler operation, less bleeding risk, less operation time, and the measurement can be repeatedly conducted at least once.[S Chin J Cardiol 2021;22(1):50-56]
