Objective:To investigate the antilithiatic effect of the whole Leea macrophylla(L macrophylla) Roxb(Leeaeeae) ethanol extract in ediylene glycol-induced urolithiasis model of rats.Methods: Forty two seven weeks old male wistar albino rats were randomly divided into two major groups namely:preventive(n=18) and therapeutic(n=24).Preventive group was further subdivided into 3 groups of 6 rats namely:preventive control(PC),preventive lithiatic control(PLC) and preventive lithiatic L.macrophylla(PLLM).Similarly,therapeutic group was also subdivided into 4 groups of 6 rats namely:therapeutic control(TC),therapeutic lithiatic control(TLC).therapeutic lithitatic L macrophylla(TLLM) and therapeutic lithiatic cystone(TLCYS).The lithiasis was induced by 0.75%(v/v) ethylene glycol in the drinking water of all groups except the PC and TC groups.The urinary ionic parameters such as calcium,inorganic phosphate,oxalate,magnesium & creatinine and renal morphology were altered by ediylene glycol,which were partially recovered by 14 d preventive and almost fully recovered by 28 d therapeutic intervention trials with L macrophylla extract(500 mg/kg BW daily).Results:Significant difference on recovery was observed between preventive and dierapeutic interventional trials.Anti-urolithiatic effect of cystone was significantly(P【0.001) higher than extracts.L macrophylla extract was found nontoxic in the acute toxicity test.Conclusions:The results of this study demonstrated very promising antiurolithiatic effect of L.macrophylla extract with preventive and therapeutic treatments in this experimental condition. 展开更多

We aimed at reporting the chemical constituents and antimicrobial activities of Leea aequata L.,a traditional folk medicine used in Myanmar for the treatment of wounds and skin diseases.A new neolignan,(7S,8R)-9′-O-acetylcedrusin(1),a new lactam,(3S,4S)-4-chloro-3-hydroxypiperidin-2-one(2),along with 21 known compounds,including fve lignans(3-7),four favonoid glycosides(8-11),and others(12-23),were isolated from the ethanoic extract of the aerial parts of L.aequata.The structures of the new compounds were determined by NMR,MS,and ECD spectra.For all the antimicrobial tests of the 23 compounds,only 3,4,5-trihydroxybenzoic acid ethyl ester(17)showed weak inhibitory activities against Escherichia coli and Salmonella enterica subsp.enterica. 展开更多

Herbal drug therapy is the most trusted system of medicine in countries like India,where people strongly believe in Ayurveda as herbs are the part of rural Indian lifestyle.Most of the diseases which have no medicine in allopathic system can be cured successfully by using traditional medicines.Leea indica,a traditional Chinese medicinal plant is the sole member of the family Leeaceae,which is closely related to the economically important grape family,Vitaceae.It is widely distributed from Southern Asia to Northern Oceania.The plant parts are enriched with various bioactive compounds such as gallic acid,quercitrin,β-amyrin,β-sitosterol and lupeol,etc.Traditionally,it is used to treat itchy skin,fever,diarrhea,and body aches.The current review attempts to encompass the available literature on Leea indica with respect to its phytochemistry,traditional uses and gist of its various pharmacological activities. 展开更多

采用色谱柱层析及半制备高效液相色谱的分离方法,以及质谱和核磁共振波谱的鉴定方法,从云南省德宏市民间利用的抗肿瘤药用植物单羽火筒树(九节狸)全株中分离、鉴定出了11个化合物,即山柰酚(1)、山萘酚-3-O-α-L-吡喃鼠李糖苷(2)、槲皮素... 采用色谱柱层析及半制备高效液相色谱的分离方法,以及质谱和核磁共振波谱的鉴定方法,从云南省德宏市民间利用的抗肿瘤药用植物单羽火筒树(九节狸)全株中分离、鉴定出了11个化合物,即山柰酚(1)、山萘酚-3-O-α-L-吡喃鼠李糖苷(2)、槲皮素(3)、异槲皮苷(4)、槲皮素-3-O-α-L-吡喃鼠李糖苷(5)、杨梅素(6)、杨梅素-3-O-α-L-吡喃鼠李糖苷(7)、Europetin(8)、Europetin 3-O-α-L-rhamnopyranoside(9)、(-)-儿茶素(10)和山楂酸(11)。采用MTS法测试了乙酸乙酯部位及11个化合物对5种肿瘤细胞株的体外细胞毒活性,结果表明单羽火筒树乙酸乙酯部位对人白血病HL-60细胞(IC_(50)=21.76μg/mL)、人肝癌SMMC-7721细胞(IC_(50)=17.04μg/mL)和人肺癌A-549细胞株(IC_(50)=18.00μg/mL)的生长有抑制活性,从乙酸乙酯部位分离出来的化合物1对肝癌细胞株(SMMC-7721)的生长有抑制活性(IC_(50)=27.61μg/mL)。 展开更多
