As a special milestone of reading revolution, Amazon Kindle has had great success in the market since 2010. This paper discusses its educational significance of teaching and learning Chinese based on a case study in some universities in China's Mainland, then analyzes its advantages and disadvantages comparing with not only the traditional reading media including paper-book, PC (Personal Computer), mobile device, and others, but also some popular e-book readers such as Hanvon, Nook, or iBooks (iPad, iPod touch, and Macbook), with especial interests on the compatibility of Chinese characters. Some important issues which comprise the resource, copyright, price, Chinesization, and interaction are discussed in the essay as well. Though it has not been widely accepted by the majority in China's Mainland, even less popular in the field of teaching Chinese, now it is worth paying attention. To catch up with the new technology tendency with its superiority, Amazon Kindle plays a more and more important role in teaching and learning Chinese and is changing the educational custom nowadays. In 2019,the United Arab Emirates(UAE)became the first Arab country to integrate Chinese language education into its national basic education system,employing 172 Chinese language teachers and educating over 54,000 Emirati students by 2022.In response to the global pandemic,the UAE also became the first Arab nation to implement distance learning on a national scale,transitioning public schools to this mode of instruction in March 2020.However,existing research on distance Chinese learning primarily focuses on international students in Chinese universities or countries where Chinese language education is more established,and mainly targets older age groups such as university and high school students.There is currently no research dedicated to distance Chinese learning in the UAE.This paper addresses this research gap by exploring three key aspects.The first section reviews current literature on the key stakeholders and influencing factors in distance learning.The second section examines the development of distance Chinese language education and proposes an initial evaluation framework for this field.The third section analyzes the current state of distance Chinese learning in the UAE,highlighting specific issues that warrant further scholarly attention.This study serves as a valuable reference for researchers interested in advancing research on both distance learning and Chinese language education in the UAE. 展开更多

This research paper investigates the interface design and functional optimization of Chinese learning apps through the lens of user experience.With the increasing popularity of Chinese language learning apps in the era of rapid mobile internet development,users'demands for enhanced interface design and interaction experience have grown significantly.The study aims to explore the influence of user feedback on the design and functionality of Chinese learning apps,proposing optimization strategies to improve user experience and learning outcomes.By conducting a comprehensive literature review,utilizing methods such as surveys and user interviews for data collection,and analyzing user feedback,this research identifies existing issues in the interface design and interaction experience of Chinese learning apps.The results present user opinions,feedback analysis,identified problems,improvement directions,and specific optimization strategies.The study discusses the potential impact of these optimization strategies on enhancing user experience and learning outcomes,compares findings with previous research,addresses limitations,and suggests future research directions.In conclusion,this research contributes to enriching the design theory of Chinese learning apps,offering practical optimization recommendations for developers,and supporting the continuous advancement of Chinese language learning apps. 展开更多

OBJECTIVE:To assess the effect of case-based learning(CBL)in the education of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM).METHODS:The studies concerning TCM courses designed with CBL were included by searching the databases of ... OBJECTIVE:To assess the effect of case-based learning(CBL)in the education of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM).METHODS:The studies concerning TCM courses designed with CBL were included by searching the databases of EBSCO,Pubmed,Science Citation Index,China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Chongqing VIP database.The valid data was extracted in accordance with the included criteria.The quality of the studies was assessed with Gemma Flores-Masteo.RESULTS:A total of 22 articles were retrieved that met the selection criteria:one was of high quality;two were of low quality;the rest were categorized as moderate quality.The majority of the studiesdemonstrated the better effect produced by CBL,while a few studies showed no difference,compared with the didactic format.All included studies confirmed the favorable effect on learners'attitude,skills and ability.CONCLUSION:CBL showed the desirable results in achieving the goal of learning.Compared to didactic approach,it played a more active role in promoting students'competency.Since the quality of the articles on which the study was based was not so high,the findings still need further research to become substantiated. 展开更多
