LONELY GUY(LOG)is a pivotal cytokinin-activating enzyme that plays an important role in plant growth,development,and stress responses.Walnut(Juglans regia),an important woody oilseed species,has not yet undergone syst...LONELY GUY(LOG)is a pivotal cytokinin-activating enzyme that plays an important role in plant growth,development,and stress responses.Walnut(Juglans regia),an important woody oilseed species,has not yet undergone systematic identification of its LOG gene family.In this study,we identified 17 JrLOG genes in the walnut genome,which are unevenly distributed across 11 chromosomes.JrLOG gene expansion was primarily driven by gene duplication,along with purifying selection.Members of the JrLOG family were categorized into five groups,each exhibiting analogous gene structures,featured motifs,and conserved domains.Transcriptome and quantitative real-time PCR analyses revealed that JrLOG gene expression was tissue-specific,developmentally regulated,and responsive to stress situations.Notably,JrLOG3,which localizes to the cell membrane,exhibited high expression levels in leaves and responded to both cold and pathogen infection treatments.This study represents the first comprehensive identification of the LOG gene family in walnut,offering essential data for further functional studies of this gene family.展开更多

This paper provides an analysis of gender binarism in Carson McCullers’novel,The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter,situated within the socio-cultural milieu of Southern America.It examines the depiction of persisting challeng...This paper provides an analysis of gender binarism in Carson McCullers’novel,The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter,situated within the socio-cultural milieu of Southern America.It examines the depiction of persisting challenges posed by binary gender paradigms and the portrayal of potential emancipation within the narrative.The analysis focuses on two central characters,interpreting them as contrasting cases.One character represents the paradox inherent in the rebellious endeavors,highlighting how these actions,influenced by Phallocentrism and a broader framework of hierarchical structures,might inadvertently reinforce gender binarism.The other character exemplifies a triumphant departure from the binary gender paradigm through striving to attain a state of equilibrium marked by the harmonious coexistence of gender differences.Through this analysis,the paper reveals the author’s dual perspectives in her exploration of gender binarism using these two distinct protagonists.At last,it employs the traditional Chinese philosophical concept of“harmony in diversity”in conjunction with feminist and gender theories to elucidate the encouraged path toward emancipation from gender binarism within McCullers’narrative.展开更多

Birefringent materials possess significant optical anisotropy,making them pivotal in modulating light polarization,particularly in laser technology and scientific applications.In this study,five variants of antimony p...Birefringent materials possess significant optical anisotropy,making them pivotal in modulating light polarization,particularly in laser technology and scientific applications.In this study,five variants of antimony potassium fluoronitrates named SbF_(3)·KNO_(3)(1),SbF_(3)·3KNO_(3)(2),SbF_(3)·3KSbF_(4)·KNO_(3)(3),KSb_(2)F_(7)·3KNO_(3)(4),and KSb_(2)F_(7)·2KNO_(3)(5)were obtained.Remarkably,each compound contains distinct Sb-polyhedra configurations.Compounds 1 and 2 consist of singular[SbF_(3)]units,compound 3 harbors a mixture of[SbF_(3)]and[SbF_(4)]units,while compounds 4 and 5 feature single[SbF_(4)]units.Interestingly,the birefringence escalates progressively from 1 to 5,and notably,compound 5 exhibits the most pronounced birefringence among all reported inorganic antimony oxysalts.Detailed structural and property analyses affirm that the structural variance among the five compounds underpins the observed differences in birefringence.Moreover,the synergistic interplay between planarπ-conjugated NO_(3)^(−)groups and Sb^(3+)ions with lone-pair electrons facilitates the emergence of substantial polarization anisotropy.展开更多
