This paper proposes a matrix-based method to determine the mobility and equilibrium stability of mechanisms according to the effects of the external loads. The first and second variations of the potential energy function of mechanisms under conservative force field are analyzed. Based on the singular value decomposition (SVD) method, a new crite- rion for the mobility and equilibrium stability of mechanisms can be concluded by analyzing the equilibrium matrix. The mobility and stability of mechanisms can be classified by unified matrix formulae. A number of examples are given to demonstrate the proposed criterion. In the end, criteria are summarized in a table.展开更多

The effect of parameter variations on the equilibrium state of the system is analyzed. In order to study the stability of the equilibrium state, the mooring-line length l is chosen as a bifurcation parameter, so that all eigenvalues of the Jacobian matrix under different parameters can be worked out, and then the Hopf-bifurcation point can be found. Finally, the Hopf-bifurcation periodic solution of the system is computed.展开更多

Upon that, the use of the node-voltage equations allows reducing study of a steady-state stability of complex EPS to study of the generator-bus system. The obtained results facilitate studies of a steady-state stability of the complex systems and have practical importance.展开更多
