Psychometric properties are critical to making decisions about choosing a screening instrument. The purpose of the present study was to examine the psychometric properties of the student risk screening scale for internalizing and externalizing behaviors (SRSS-IE). Participants included 3145 students and their teachers. Item-level analyses of the current sample supported the retention of all items. The internal consistency of the SRSS items ranged from 0.83 to 0.85. Convergent validity between the SRSS-IE and a well-established screening tool, the strength and difficulties questionnaire (SDQ), was found for the total score (r = 0.70). Additionally, the results of this study demonstrate strong social validity, suggesting the SRSS-IE to be a useful and functional screening tool. We conclude that the SRSS-IE is a valid and reliable instrument for assessing the level of emotional and behavioral difficulties among elementary students.展开更多

文摘Background:Given the heightened risk of developmental challenges associated with preterm birth,it is crucial to explore interventions that may ameliorate potential adverse outcomes. This study aimed to examine whether meeting the 24-h movement behavior(24-HMB)guidelines,which include recommendations on physical activity(PA),screen time(ST),and sleep(SL),is related to indicators of cognitive difficulties, internalizing problems(e.g.,depression and anxiety),and externalizing problems(e.g.,difficulties in making friends and arguing)in a sample of preterm youth(children and adolescents born preterm). Methods:In this cross-sectional study, data from 3410 preterm youth(aged 6 to 17 years)were included for data analyses.Multivariable logistic regression was used to investigate associations between meeting the 24-HMB guidelines and the above-mentioned health outcomes, while controlling for sociodemographic and health-related factors. Results:The prevalence of meeting 24-HMB guidelines varied across independent and integrated components of the 24-HMB guidelines.Meeting the ST guideline alone(p<0.05)and integrated guidelines(i.e.,ST+SL and ST+SL+PA)were associated with fewer cognitive difficulties and reduced internalizing and externalizing problems(p<0.05).Specifically,meeting the SL guideline alone and integrated guidelines(i.e.,SL+ST)were associated with lower odds of depression and anxiety(p<0.01).Additionally,meeting independent, and integrated(PA and/or ST)guidelines were associated with less pronounced difficulties in making friends and arguing(p<0.05).Meeting 24-HMB guidelines in an isolated and integrated manner are linked to better cognitive performance and fewer internalizing and externalizing problems in preterm youth. Conclusion:Results suggest that advocating for the implementation of the 24-HMB guidelines may reduce cognitive challenges and behavioral issues, which is of high relevance for improving public health.Future longitudinal studies in preterm youth should investigate how modifying specific 24-HMB behaviors, especially ST,influence cognitive difficulties, internalizing and externalizing problems in this vulnerable population.

文摘Background:Pediatric cardiology patients often experience decreased quality of life(QoL)and higher rates of mental illness, particularly with severe disease, but the relationship between them and comparisons across diagnostic groups are limited. This mixed-methods cross-sectional study assessed the association between QoL anxiety and behavior problems among children with structural heart disease, arrhythmia,or other cardiac diagnoses.Methods:Children(6–14 years,n=76,50%female)and their parents completed measures of QoL(PedsQL),behavior(BASC-2,subset of 19 children)and anxiety(MASC-2,children 8+years).Pearson correlations/regression models examined associations between QoL,behavior and anxiety, controlling for age, sex, diagnosis and condition severity.Student t-tests compared results to published normative values.Semi-structured interviews(15 children,13 parents)examined self-and parent-reported perceptions of the patient’s emotional health. Results:Child reported social QoL(95%CI difference:−11.0,−2.1),emotional well-being(95%CI difference:−12.5,−3.8)and adjustment skills(95%CI difference:−13.9,−3.0)were significantly below published norms(p<0.05).Neither age, sex, nor diagnosis were significantly related to questionnaire responses.Compared to children with mild conditions, child and parent-reported QoL was significantly lower in children with complex conditions(np2≥0.14,p<0.05).Lower QoL was strongly associated with more internalizing problems based on both child(r=−0.78,p<0.001)and parent(r=−0.67,p<0.001)reports.Interview responses suggested emotional distress was attributed to“normal”child problems rather than the child’s cardiac problem. Conclusion:Children with complex cardiac conditions, regardless of diagnosis, had diminished QoL.Using the PedsQL in clinical settings may help identify pediatric cardiology patients experiencing emotional distress(i.e.,anxiety and depression).

文摘China Standardization:Can you please briefly introduce ISO,its international standards as well as your scope of work?Rachel Miller Prada:ISO is an independent non-governmental organization dedicated to developing international standards.Currently,ISO has 175 member bodies, representing 175 countries that participate in its standard development work.We have a portfolio of over 24,000 international standards, with around 100 new standards issued or existing ones revised every month. The ultimate goal of our standardization work is to support the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs).Every standard we develop and every task I undertake in my role contributes to these global objectives.

文摘This paper investigates the reliability of internal marine combustion engines using an integrated approach that combines Fault Tree Analysis(FTA)and Bayesian Networks(BN).FTA provides a structured,top-down method for identifying critical failure modes and their root causes, while BN introduces flexibility in probabilistic reasoning, enabling dynamic updates based on new evidence. This dual methodology overcomes the limitations of static FTA models, offering a comprehensive framework for system reliability analysis.Critical failures, including External Leakage(ELU),Failure to Start(FTS),and Overheating(OHE),were identified as key risks.By incorporating redundancy into high-risk components such as pumps and batteries, the likelihood of these failures was significantly reduced. For instance, redundant pumps reduced the probability of ELU by 31.88%,while additional batteries decreased the occurrence of FTS by 36.45%.The results underscore the practical benefits of combining FTA and BN for enhancing system reliability, particularly in maritime applications where operational safety and efficiency are critical. This research provides valuable insights for maintenance planning and highlights the importance of redundancy in critical systems, especially as the industry transitions toward more autonomous vessels.
文摘The editors of International Journal of Ophthalmology gratefully acknowledge the members of IJO Editorial Board and reviewers from 51 countries and regions who participated in the peer-reviews and provided their valuable comments between Nov.1st,2024 and Oct.31st,2025.They volunteer their valuable time and expertise, and without them we would not maintain the necessary quality expected of the journal. We apologize if we have inadvertently missed a reviewer’s name off this list.
文摘Many reviewers contributed their insights and advice to the International Journal of Nursing Sciences in 2025,along with suggestions for improving manuscripts that were submitted for publication. These peer reviewers, listed below, have generously given their time and wisdom. The editorial team is grateful to all colleagues who have participated in this worthwhile endeavour.
