<b>Objective:</b> The objective is to<span "=""> compare a regular ovitrap versus an innovated larvitrap for monitoring <i>Aedes</i> spp. populations. <b>Materials an...<b>Objective:</b> The objective is to<span "=""> compare a regular ovitrap versus an innovated larvitrap for monitoring <i>Aedes</i> spp. populations. <b>Materials and Methods</b></span><b>:</b><span "=""> A total of 20 regular ovitraps and 20 innovated larvitraps were placed in pairs in 20 houses from the 5 de Febrero neighborhood in Tapachula, Chiapas, Mexico. The innovation consisted in the incorporation of a valve in the lower part of a half tire to drain the contents in a 2 L collection container. The evaluation was carried out during five weeks, collecting eggs and larvae from the ovitraps and innovated larvitraps, respectively. Positivity indexes and insectary production of adult <i>Aedes</i> spp. mosquitoes were compared by collection type. <b>Results</b></span><b>:</b><span "=""> Average positivity index for the five weeks period were 60% for ovitraps and 91.25% for innovated larvitraps. Ecological conservation is at a crossroad as environmental stresses around the world intensify and traditional models of conservation exhibit intrinsic weaknesses in their response to present and future problems.In th...Ecological conservation is at a crossroad as environmental stresses around the world intensify and traditional models of conservation exhibit intrinsic weaknesses in their response to present and future problems.In the project,we evaluated novel approaches integrating adaptive management,technological innovations,and community-based action towards more efficient sustainable conservation results and ecosystem resilience.The multi-site experimental design was based on comparison between conventional reserve management and novel integrative models implemented in diverse ecological zones.Data were collected over a period of three years employing remote sensing technologies,in situ biodiversity assessments,and large socioeconomic surveys.These instruments enabled a robust and multi-dimensional measurement of variables such as species diversity,ecological resilience,community engagement,and stakeholder engagement.The results indicate that adaptive strategies significantly enhance real-time decision-making abilities and enhance long-term ecosystem resilience.Further,technology-driven monitoring greatly enhances data accuracy,responsiveness,and early warning capabilities.Besides that,community-based conservation initiatives were found to be pivotal in facilitating local stewardship,enhancing participatory governance,and enabling more adaptive and adaptive policy systems.This research rejects mainstream conservation paradigms by placing importance on flexibility,interdisciplinarity,and inclusivity of governance systems in effectively mitigating the impacts of climate change and loss of biodiversity.Our findings offer strong evidence that emerging paradigms of conservation can provide greater ecological and social sustainability than traditional methods.These results support the need for a paradigm shift towards conservation strategies that are dynamic,collaborative,and technologically integrated,with significant implications for policy formulation as well as operational environmental management.展开更多

As urbanization accelerates globally,air pollution-particularly PM_(2.5)-is becoming an increasingly significant threat,not only to public health but also the environment.In-depth research on the impact of China’s Ze...As urbanization accelerates globally,air pollution-particularly PM_(2.5)-is becoming an increasingly significant threat,not only to public health but also the environment.In-depth research on the impact of China’s Zero Waste City pilot policy on PM_(2.5)concentration offers valuable insights into the policy’s effectiveness and provides a potential model for environmental governance worldwide.This study employs panel data from 293 Chinese cities from 2014 to 2022 to systematically analyze the impact of the Zero-Waste City policy on PM_(2.5)concentration using a difference-in-differences model.The findings indicate that the policy not only directly reduces PM_(2.5)concentration but also indirectly curbs PM_(2.5)emissions by enhancing green innovation and green economic efficiency.Moreover,the policy’s effects are found to be positively moderated by urban energy dependence and digital financial inclusion,while they are negatively moderated by the government debt ratio.Based on these findings,this study suggests that cities should actively develop their digital economy,reduce government debt,promote green innovation,and improve green economic efficiency,as doing so will enhance their implementation of environmental policies and promote sustainable urban development.展开更多

Employees’innovative performance determines an organization’s innovation,which critically impacts its structural optimization and sustainability.Applying expectancy theory,we examined how and when the Pygmalion effe...Employees’innovative performance determines an organization’s innovation,which critically impacts its structural optimization and sustainability.Applying expectancy theory,we examined how and when the Pygmalion effect occurs in the relationship between leaders’expectations of innovation and employee innovative behavior.Our sample comprised 201 frontline employees(female=31.84%;mean age=41.48 years,SD=7.97 years)in a Chinese coal enterprise,who completed surveys on innovation expectations of leaders,expected positive performance outcomes,innovative self-efficacy and innovative behavior.The results revealed that employees’expected positive performance outcomes mediated the positive relationship between leaders’innovation expectations and their innovative behavior.Employees’innovative self-efficacy positively moderated the relationship between their expected positive performance outcomes and innovative behavior,with this relationship being stronger for employees with high innovative self-efficacy.Moreover,we validated the moderated mediation model.Findings suggest that leaders can stimulate employee innovative behavior through expressing expectations and they also need to consider the boundary conditions.展开更多

The world today is undergoing disruptive,transformative shifts driven by a new wave of technological revolutions and industrial changes.In this context,a central question for China’s innovation-driven development str...The world today is undergoing disruptive,transformative shifts driven by a new wave of technological revolutions and industrial changes.In this context,a central question for China’s innovation-driven development strategy is how to effectively identify and measure high-quality technological innovations.Drawing on the stylized facts and scenario narrative of China’s technological landscape,this paper proposes a framework and measurement system for evaluating high-quality technological innovations.While China’s top-level design for technological innovation is guided by policy documents,the increasing number of enterprises applying for“high-tech enterprise”status has coincided with a decline in the quality of patent filings.In response,this paper first underscores the challenges and necessity of measuring the quality of technological innovations.Second,we introduce the high-quality technological innovation indicators and employ them to assess the quality of tech innovations at the firm level,utilizing an approach that combines analogical narrative,gene coding,text analysis,semantic logic,and a database of granted invention patents in China.Third,we examine the systematic and individual biases inherent in citation counts,a commonly used indicator,under specific contexts,and employ a granular instrumental variable approach to validate the effectiveness of the indicators.Finally,we develop a“family tree”of the indicators and explore their application scenarios through a combination of established and extended indicators.Our findings provide a theoretical foundation for evaluating China’s technological innovation quality,inform policy incentives,and offer insights for academia to apply high-quality technological innovation indicators in different contexts.展开更多

文摘In the era of green logistics,digital transformation has become an effective means for the logistics industry’s high-quality development.Using listed companies in China’s logistics industry from 2010 to 2021 as the research samples,this paper conducts an empirical test on the impact of the digital transformation of logistics enterprises on their green in-novation.Specifically,enterprise digital transformation indicators are constructed through the text analysis method,and the fixed-effects model is applied for analysis.The results indicate that the digital transformation of logistics enterprises has a significant promoting effect on their green innovation;the promoting effect of the digital transformation of logistics enterprises on green innovation is primarily achieved by easing corporate financing constraints and reducing corporate en-vironmental uncertainty;and the impact of digital transformation on green innovation is geographically heterogeneous.

文摘Employees’innovative performance determines an organization’s innovation,which critically impacts its structural optimization and sustainability.Applying expectancy theory,we examined how and when the Pygmalion effect occurs in the relationship between leaders’expectations of innovation and employee innovative behavior.Our sample comprised 201 frontline employees(female=31.84%;mean age=41.48 years,SD=7.97 years)in a Chinese coal enterprise,who completed surveys on innovation expectations of leaders,expected positive performance outcomes,innovative self-efficacy and innovative behavior.The results revealed that employees’expected positive performance outcomes mediated the positive relationship between leaders’innovation expectations and their innovative behavior.Employees’innovative self-efficacy positively moderated the relationship between their expected positive performance outcomes and innovative behavior,with this relationship being stronger for employees with high innovative self-efficacy.Moreover,we validated the moderated mediation model.Findings suggest that leaders can stimulate employee innovative behavior through expressing expectations and they also need to consider the boundary conditions.

文摘Innovation in the period product category has experienced a boost in recent years as part of the growing interest in women’s health products.Disruptive brands,start-ups and the area of Fem Tech are key areas to watch.Collectively they are destigmatizing this category,and we can finally use the word“period”in marketing,as well as talking about the issues women deal with.Simultaneously,there has been an explosion in products in the sexual health category and a move away from outdated,reserved language.

文摘The world today is undergoing disruptive,transformative shifts driven by a new wave of technological revolutions and industrial changes.In this context,a central question for China’s innovation-driven development strategy is how to effectively identify and measure high-quality technological innovations.Drawing on the stylized facts and scenario narrative of China’s technological landscape,this paper proposes a framework and measurement system for evaluating high-quality technological innovations.While China’s top-level design for technological innovation is guided by policy documents,the increasing number of enterprises applying for“high-tech enterprise”status has coincided with a decline in the quality of patent filings.In response,this paper first underscores the challenges and necessity of measuring the quality of technological innovations.Second,we introduce the high-quality technological innovation indicators and employ them to assess the quality of tech innovations at the firm level,utilizing an approach that combines analogical narrative,gene coding,text analysis,semantic logic,and a database of granted invention patents in China.Third,we examine the systematic and individual biases inherent in citation counts,a commonly used indicator,under specific contexts,and employ a granular instrumental variable approach to validate the effectiveness of the indicators.Finally,we develop a“family tree”of the indicators and explore their application scenarios through a combination of established and extended indicators.Our findings provide a theoretical foundation for evaluating China’s technological innovation quality,inform policy incentives,and offer insights for academia to apply high-quality technological innovation indicators in different contexts.
