The present study examined the role of emotional balance and the moderating role of rumination in the relationship between psychological inflexibility and sleep quality among college students.Participants were 837 Chinese college students(females=52%,mean age=18.89,SD=0.93 years). They completed the Multidimensional Psychological Inflexibility Scale(MPIS),Affect Balance Scale(ABS),Ruminative Response Scale(RRS),Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI).We utilized moderated-mediation analysis to explore the mechanism of action among variables.Emotional balance mediated the relationship between psychological inflexibility and sleep quality, and rumination moderated the direct effect of psychological inflexibility on sleep quality and the mediating effect of emotional balance.Specifically, the direct effect of psychological inflexibility on sleep quality and the mediating effect of emotional balance increased with the increase in rumination level.High levels of rumination in individuals exacerbate the negative effects of psychological inflexibility on sleep quality. It also enhances the disruption of psychological inflexibility on the individual’s emotional balance ability, which leads to poorer sleep quality. The results contribute to the evidence of how psychological inflexibility explains the sleep quality of college students and how sleep quality can be improved by psychological inflexibility interventions, rumination interventions, and emotional balance interventions.Student development services should provide targeted students’sleep quality counseling for the promotion and maintenance of college students’physical and mental health. 展开更多

Despite the increasing investigation into misophonia, its classification remains debated due to symptom overlap with audiological and psychological conditions,as well as methodological limitations in existing studies. In the present study,we compared a clinical sample of adults seeking treatment for misophonia with a non-treatment-seeking sample of age-and gender-matched healthy controls. In these two samples,we examined the psychological and audiological features of misophonia by assessing key psychological processes(anger, disgust,OCD symptoms, anxiety, depression, stress, wellbeing, and psychological inflexibility)and audiological features(hearing, hyperacusis, and tinnitus). We found that individuals with misophonia exhibit higher levels of psychological inflexibility and stress compared to healthy controls.Audiological comparisons indicated that hyperacusis is more prevalent in the misophonia group, with significantly more impairment in social and occupational functioning. There were no differences between groups on an objective assessment of hearing, although self-report measures indicated that individuals with misophonia may have greater difficulty with auditory processing. These findings suggest that misophonia is a complex disorder marked by transdiagnostic psychological characteristics and sound sensitivities. Our results underscore the need for interdisciplinary assessment and treatment approaches that incorporate psychosocial and audiological perspectives. 展开更多

OBJECTIVE Cognitive inflexibility plays a critical role in the compulsive drug taking,a central characteristic of drug addictions, yet its underlying neurochemical mechanisms are not well understood. The present study examined the impact of morphine withdrawal on reversal learning.METHODS Reversal learning was tested in a four-choices digging task. Some brain tissues were harvested 2 h after the behavioral experiment for the further measurement.RESULTS We found that after long-term abstinence for a month from chronic morphine exposure, mice exhibited a profound reversal learning deficit. We further found that dopamine D2 receptor(D2R)system in the frontal-striatal circuit is significantly down-regulated,at both receptor and downstream signals levels.Subsequent pharmacological experiments demonstrated that aripiprazole,a D2R partial agonist, prevented the D2R downregulation and rescued the reversal learning deficit.CONCLUSION Together, our findings provide valuable insights into the causal relationship between D2R system in the frontal-striatal circuit and the cognitive inflexibility caused by abused drugs and offer a promising possibility of an effective therapeutic intervention for drug addictions. 展开更多
