However, we find that BitTorrent’s incentive mechanism can prevent free-riding effectively in a system with a relatively low number of seeds, but may fail in producing a disincentive for free-riding in a system with a high number of seeds. The reason is that BitTorrent does not provide effective mechanisms for seeds to guard against free-riding. Therefore, we propose a seed bandwidth allocation strategy for the BitTorrent system to reduce the effect of seeds on free-riding. Our target is that a downloader which provides more service to the system will be granted a higher benefit than downloaders which provide lower service when some downloaders ask for downloading file from a seed. Finally, simulation results are given, which validate the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.展开更多

All seven ALUS programs across the country were examined...Alternative Land Use Services (ALUS) is an incentive-based program established in Canada to pay farmers for their voluntary delivery of ecosystem services (ES). All seven ALUS programs across the country were examined using a standardized case-study approach based on site visits, reading internal documents, attending program meetings, and engaging in semi-structured interviews with program administrators, participating farmers, and advisory board members. Direct content analysis was used to highlight recurrent themes and emerging lessons in relation to the salient particulars of program physical location, administration framework, delivery of ES, and development and receipt by communities. Our three major findings are: 1) Overall, ALUS has been judged by participants to be a very successful program, whose strength is that it is completely voluntary, non-permanent, and readily adaptable to each location’s environmental conditions, economic funding base, and cultural milieu. 2) One serious shortcoming of all ALUS programs is a general lack of quantifiable data on their ability to increase ES. Instead, environmental benefits are either assumed or based on the idea that the areal extent of enrolled land is the sole measure of its environmental worth. 3) It may be that the social impact of ALUS is its greatest success. In this regard, for farmers, it is the process of engaging in land-use decision making and the recognition of their role as environmental stewards that is a bigger motivation for participating in an ALUS program than the modest financial incentives which they receive.展开更多

Despite the increase...The role played by Payments for ecosystem services (PES) in promoting land use interventions is increasingly being recognized as an important instrument for changing land use management worldwide. Despite the increase, adoption of land use interventions promoted by PES and factors influencing it are not well understood. This study was carried out to assess the adoption of land use interventions promoted by PES scheme four years after its implementation in the Uluguru Mountains, Tanzania. The specific objectives of this study were to assess the adoption and factors that influenced it. The study employed questionnaire survey method to collect data from 219 households selected randomly. Focus group discussions and key informant interviews were also conducted to complement information obtained through questionnaire surveys. Descriptive and inferential statistical analyses were employed. Binary logistic regression was used to analyse quantitative data obtained, while content analysis was applied to qualitative data. Results revealed that during the project implementation, 40% of the households did not adopt any of the promoted interventions. Unexpectedly, four years after the project ended, every household sampled had adopted the interventions. Households headed by younger heads and those with land ownership, households which received PES incentives and lived for a long time in the same area and those with more labour force and access to extension services were found to have adopted more interventions (p ≤ 0.05). Thus, the study concludes that socioeconomic characteristics, agricultural extension services and incentives initially provided to farmers are key factors influencing the adoption of land use interventions. Therefore, it is recommended to the government that it should support farmers to get land tenure and to provide them with more incentives to improve their farms through adopting technologies.展开更多

The demand response(DR)market,as a vital complement to the electricity spot market,plays a key role in evoking user-side regulation capability to mitigate system-level supply‒demand imbalances during extreme events.Wh...The demand response(DR)market,as a vital complement to the electricity spot market,plays a key role in evoking user-side regulation capability to mitigate system-level supply‒demand imbalances during extreme events.While the DR market offers the load aggregator(LA)additional profitable opportunities beyond the electricity spot market,it also introduces new trading risks due to the significant uncertainty in users’behaviors.Dispatching energy storage systems(ESSs)is an effective means to enhance the risk management capabilities of LAs;however,coordinating ESS operations with dual-market trading strategies remains an urgent challenge.To this end,this paper proposes a novel systematic risk-aware coordinated trading model for the LA in concurrently participating in the day-ahead electricity spot market and DR market,which incorporates the capacity allocation mechanism of ESS based on market clearing rules to jointly formulate bidding and pricing decisions for the dual market.First,the intrinsic coupling characteristics of the LA participating in the dual market are analyzed,and a joint optimization framework for formulating bidding and pricing strategies that integrates ESS facilities is proposed.Second,an uncertain user response model is developed based on price‒response mechanisms,and actual market settlement rules accounting for under-and over-responses are employed to calculate trading revenues,where possible revenue losses are quantified via conditional value at risk.Third,by imposing these terms and the capacity allocation mechanism of ESS,the risk-aware stochastic coordinated trading model of the LA is built,where the bidding and pricing strategies in the dual model that trade off risk and profit are derived.The simulation results of a case study validate the effectiveness of the proposed trading strategy in controlling trading risk and improving the trading income of the LA.展开更多
BACKGROUND Patients undergoing rectal cancer surgery frequently encounter challenges in their self-care abilities,disease knowledge,and emotional well-being postoperatively.Effective nursing interventions are critical...BACKGROUND Patients undergoing rectal cancer surgery frequently encounter challenges in their self-care abilities,disease knowledge,and emotional well-being postoperatively.Effective nursing interventions are critical for improving the quality of life and minimizing complications.This study explored the clinical implications of integrating health education guided by problem management with positive incentive nursing to address these challenges.AIM To evaluate the effect of this combined nursing model on postoperative self-care ability,disease knowledge,mood state,and complication rates in patients undergoing rectal cancer surgery.METHODS Eighty patients who underwent rectal cancer surgery between October 2021 and August 2024 were allocated into reference(routine care)and experimental(problem management-guided health education combined with positive incentive nursing)groups.The outcomes included exercise of self-care agency scale,disease knowledge(hospital-specific questionnaire),mood state(profile of mood states),and complication rates.RESULTS The experimental group demonstrated significant improvements in self-care ability(P<0.05),with higher scores for health knowledge,self-concept,self-care skills,and self-care responsibility than the reference group.Disease knowledge scores also improved markedly in the experimental group(P<0.05).Mood state scores showed a significant decrease in the negative dimensions(e.g.,anxiety and depression)and an increase in energy vitality(P<0.05).Additionally,the experimental group exhibited a lower complication rate than the reference group(7.5%vs 27.5%,P<0.05).CONCLUSION The integration of problem management-guided health education with positive incentive nursing significantly enhanced postoperative self-care abilities,disease knowledge,and emotional well-being while reducing complication rates.This model demonstrated potential for widespread adoption in clinical practice by offering a structured approach to improve patient outcomes and quality of life.展开更多

Objective:To explore the effect of implementing a time-sensitive incentive model combined with specialized rehabilitation nursing in patients with severe pneumonia and respiratory failure.Methods:Seventy-eight patient...Objective:To explore the effect of implementing a time-sensitive incentive model combined with specialized rehabilitation nursing in patients with severe pneumonia and respiratory failure.Methods:Seventy-eight patients with severe pneumonia and respiratory failure admitted from January 2024 to February 2025 were selected and randomly divided into two groups using a computer-based random drawing method.The control group(39 patients)received routine nursing,while the observation group(39 patients)received a time-sensitive incentive model combined with specialized rehabilitation nursing.Lung function and adverse emotional states were compared between the two groups.Results:After 2 weeks of nursing,the lung function of the observation group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05),and the adverse emotional states of the observation group were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Implementing a time-sensitive incentive model combined with specialized rehabilitation nursing in patients with severe pneumonia and respiratory failure can improve lung function and emotional state.展开更多

Yet, due to the various resource consumption, the crowds ma...The ubiquity of mobile devices have promoted the prosperity of mobile crowd systems, which recruit crowds to contribute their resources for performing tasks. Yet, due to the various resource consumption, the crowds may be reluctant to join and contribute information. Thus, the low participation level of crowds will be a hurdle that prevents the adoption of crowdsourcing. A critical challenge for these systems is how to design a proper mechanism such that the crowds spontaneously act as suppliers to contribute accurate information. Most of existing mechanisms ignore either the honesty of crowds or requesters respectively. In this paper, considering the honesty of both, we propose a game-based incentive mechanism, namely RTRC, to stimulate the crowds to contribute accurate information and to motivate the requesters to return accurate feedbacks. In addition, an evolutionary game is designed to model the dynamic of user-strategy selection. Specially, the replicator dynamic is applied to model the adaptation of strategy interactions taking into account the dynamic nature in time dependence and we also derive the evolutionarily stable strategies(ESSs) for users. Finally, empirical results over the simulations show that all the requesters and suppliers will select honest strategy to maximize their profit.展开更多

Specifically speaking, in the distribution of basic rations, the proportion for children (aged 1-3 and 4-7 years) was often beyond their nutrition demand, resulting the dissatisfaction of other families with more laborers and less children, thus these households will reduce their labor supply gradually. At the same time, the existence of outstanding accounts makes it a failure to use work points to buy distributions, which is the mechanism of the distribution system and insufficient labor incentive. All the results have been accepted by the robustness tests. The study will help to understand the distribution system and labor incentive, as well as the failure of the Chinese collective agriculture.展开更多

In the 5th generation(5G)wireless communication networks,network slicing emerges where network operators(NPs)form isolated logical slices by the same cellular network infrastructure and spectrum resource.In coverage r...In the 5th generation(5G)wireless communication networks,network slicing emerges where network operators(NPs)form isolated logical slices by the same cellular network infrastructure and spectrum resource.In coverage regions of access points(APs)shared by slices,device to device(D2D)communication can occur among different slices,i.e.,one device acts as D2D relay for another device serving by a different slice,which is defined as slice cooperation in this paper.Since selfish slices will not help other slices by cooperation voluntarily and unconditionally,this paper designs a novel resource allocation scheme to stimulate slice cooperation.The main idea is to encourage slice to perform cooperation for other slices by rewarding it with higher throughput.The proposed incentive scheme for slice cooperation is formulated by an optimal problem,where cooperative activities are introduced to the objective function.Since optimal solutions of the formulated problem are long term statistics,though can be obtained,a practical online slice scheduling algorithm is designed,which can obtain optimal solutions of the formulated maximal problem.Lastly,the throughput isolation indexes are defined to evaluate isolation performance of slice.According to simulation results,the proposed incentive scheme for slice cooperation can stimulate slice cooperation effectively,and the isolation of slice is also simulated and discussed.展开更多

文摘The demand response(DR)market,as a vital complement to the electricity spot market,plays a key role in evoking user-side regulation capability to mitigate system-level supply‒demand imbalances during extreme events.While the DR market offers the load aggregator(LA)additional profitable opportunities beyond the electricity spot market,it also introduces new trading risks due to the significant uncertainty in users’behaviors.Dispatching energy storage systems(ESSs)is an effective means to enhance the risk management capabilities of LAs;however,coordinating ESS operations with dual-market trading strategies remains an urgent challenge.To this end,this paper proposes a novel systematic risk-aware coordinated trading model for the LA in concurrently participating in the day-ahead electricity spot market and DR market,which incorporates the capacity allocation mechanism of ESS based on market clearing rules to jointly formulate bidding and pricing decisions for the dual market.First,the intrinsic coupling characteristics of the LA participating in the dual market are analyzed,and a joint optimization framework for formulating bidding and pricing strategies that integrates ESS facilities is proposed.Second,an uncertain user response model is developed based on price‒response mechanisms,and actual market settlement rules accounting for under-and over-responses are employed to calculate trading revenues,where possible revenue losses are quantified via conditional value at risk.Third,by imposing these terms and the capacity allocation mechanism of ESS,the risk-aware stochastic coordinated trading model of the LA is built,where the bidding and pricing strategies in the dual model that trade off risk and profit are derived.The simulation results of a case study validate the effectiveness of the proposed trading strategy in controlling trading risk and improving the trading income of the LA.
文摘BACKGROUND Patients undergoing rectal cancer surgery frequently encounter challenges in their self-care abilities,disease knowledge,and emotional well-being postoperatively.Effective nursing interventions are critical for improving the quality of life and minimizing complications.This study explored the clinical implications of integrating health education guided by problem management with positive incentive nursing to address these challenges.AIM To evaluate the effect of this combined nursing model on postoperative self-care ability,disease knowledge,mood state,and complication rates in patients undergoing rectal cancer surgery.METHODS Eighty patients who underwent rectal cancer surgery between October 2021 and August 2024 were allocated into reference(routine care)and experimental(problem management-guided health education combined with positive incentive nursing)groups.The outcomes included exercise of self-care agency scale,disease knowledge(hospital-specific questionnaire),mood state(profile of mood states),and complication rates.RESULTS The experimental group demonstrated significant improvements in self-care ability(P<0.05),with higher scores for health knowledge,self-concept,self-care skills,and self-care responsibility than the reference group.Disease knowledge scores also improved markedly in the experimental group(P<0.05).Mood state scores showed a significant decrease in the negative dimensions(e.g.,anxiety and depression)and an increase in energy vitality(P<0.05).Additionally,the experimental group exhibited a lower complication rate than the reference group(7.5%vs 27.5%,P<0.05).CONCLUSION The integration of problem management-guided health education with positive incentive nursing significantly enhanced postoperative self-care abilities,disease knowledge,and emotional well-being while reducing complication rates.This model demonstrated potential for widespread adoption in clinical practice by offering a structured approach to improve patient outcomes and quality of life.
文摘Objective To improve the system of accelerated review and approval,and to speed up the development and marketing of repurposing drugs for rare diseases in China.Methods The relevant concepts of rare diseases and the definition of drug repurposing were introduced so as to sort out the advantages and disadvantages of the research and development of drug repurposing for rare diseases.Then,the incentive mechanisms of the research and development of drug repurposing for rare diseases in China and abroad were compared.Results and Conclusion Some suggestions on improving the incentive mechanism of repurposing drugs for rare diseases such as policy support for talents introduction,capital investment,and innovation capabilities are proposed.Besides,the government should further improve policies for the research and development of repurposing drugs for rare diseases,which can gradually narrow the gap between the research and innovation of drug repurposing in developed countries,thus benefiting the patients of rare diseases.
文摘Overviewing the air pollution situation in Hong Kong,energy generation and transportation are part of the contribution to the carbon emissions.Electric vehicles do not have engines and no air pollutants emissions.The promotion of electric vehicles serves as an important strategy to Hong Kong's goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.This paper illustrated the financial incentives the Hong Kong Government has launched,including First Registration Tax concessions,profits tax deduction,One-for-One Scheme,lower license fee,subsidy support for e-buses and e-taxis,free charging services at government car parks,EV-charging at home Subsidy Scheme,etc.By comparing the cost of purchasing and owning vehicles with the cost of purchasing and owning electric vehicles as well as the market performance of electric vehicles to examine whether the financial incentives in Hong Kong can promote electric vehicles and serve as a prerequisite to low carbon transition.The results show that under government support and promotion associated with preferential policy,electric vehicles will become the future trend in Hong Kong with the advantage of lower emissions,energy saving,and environmental protection.

文摘With the rapid development of medical data sharing,issues of privacy and ownership have become prominent,which have limited the scale of data sharing.To address the above challenges,we propose a blockchainbased data-sharing framework to ensure data security and encourage data owners to actively participate in sharing.We introduce a reliable attribute-based searchable encryption scheme that enables fine-grained access control of encrypted data and ensures secure and efficient data sharing.The revenue distribution model is constructed based on Shapley value to motivate participants.Additionally,by integrating the smart contract technology of blockchain,the search operation and incentive mechanism are automatically executed.Through revenue distribution analysis,the incentive effect and rationality of the proposed scheme are verified.Performance evaluation shows that,compared with traditional data-sharing models,our proposed framework not only meets data security requirements but also incentivizes more participants to actively participate in data sharing.

文摘As the information sensing and processing capabilities of IoT devices increase,a large amount of data is being generated at the edge of Industrial IoT(IIoT),which has become a strong foundation for distributed Artificial Intelligence(AI)applications.However,most users are reluctant to disclose their data due to network bandwidth limitations,device energy consumption,and privacy requirements.To address this issue,this paper introduces an Edge-assisted Federated Learning(EFL)framework,along with an incentive mechanism for lightweight industrial data sharing.In order to reduce the information asymmetry between data owners and users,an EFL model-sharing incentive mechanism based on contract theory is designed.In addition,a weight dispersion evaluation scheme based on Wasserstein distance is proposed.This study models an optimization problem of node selection and sharing incentives to maximize the EFL model consumers'profit and ensure the quality of training services.An incentive-based EFL algorithm with individual rationality and incentive compatibility constraints is proposed.Finally,the experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed scheme in terms of positive incentives for contract design and performance analysis of EFL systems.
文摘This essay evaluates the behavioural dynamics generated by profit incentives and compares them with those in government-owned and charitable enterprises.Drawing on neoclassical microeconomics,agency theory,and institutional economics,it shows how the profit motive drives cost minimization,allocative efficiency,innovation,and consumer responsiveness.Profit expectations,formalized in endogenous growth models,act as catalysts for technological progress and dynamic efficiency,while agency-theoretic governance mechanisms align managerial incentives with shareholder interests.In contrast,government-owned enterprises operate under multi-objective welfare functions,often constrained by soft budget expectations,political interference,and X-inefficiencies that dilute efficiency.Charitable organizations,structured by the non-distribution constraint,emphasize social trust,equity,and mission fulfilment,supported by warm-glow altruism but constrained by free-rider problems and underfunding.A comparative evaluation suggests that profit-driven firms outperform in competitive markets producing private goods,whereas government and charitable forms play essential roles in addressing market failures and providing public or credence goods.The analysis affirms the institutionalist principle that ownership and governance structures must be aligned with the nature of the goods or services delivered.
文摘Objective:To explore the effect of implementing a time-sensitive incentive model combined with specialized rehabilitation nursing in patients with severe pneumonia and respiratory failure.Methods:Seventy-eight patients with severe pneumonia and respiratory failure admitted from January 2024 to February 2025 were selected and randomly divided into two groups using a computer-based random drawing method.The control group(39 patients)received routine nursing,while the observation group(39 patients)received a time-sensitive incentive model combined with specialized rehabilitation nursing.Lung function and adverse emotional states were compared between the two groups.Results:After 2 weeks of nursing,the lung function of the observation group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05),and the adverse emotional states of the observation group were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Implementing a time-sensitive incentive model combined with specialized rehabilitation nursing in patients with severe pneumonia and respiratory failure can improve lung function and emotional state.

文摘In order to solve principal-agent problems caused by interest inconformity and information asymmetry during information security outsourcing, it is necessary to design a reasonable incentive mechanism to promote client enterprises to complete outsourcing service actively. The incentive mechanism model of information security outsourcing is designed based on the principal-agent theory. Through analyzing the factors such as enterprise information assets value, invasion probability, information security environment, the agent cost coefficient and agency risk preference degree how to impact on the incentive mechanism, conclusions show that an enterprise information assets value and invasion probability have a positive influence on the fixed fee and the compensation coefficient; while information security environment, the agent cost coefficient and agency risk preference degree have a negative influence on the compensation coefficient. Therefore, the principal enterprises should reasonably design the fixed fee and the compensation coefficient to encourage information security outsourcing agency enterprises to the full extent.

文摘The ubiquity of mobile devices have promoted the prosperity of mobile crowd systems, which recruit crowds to contribute their resources for performing tasks. Yet, due to the various resource consumption, the crowds may be reluctant to join and contribute information. Thus, the low participation level of crowds will be a hurdle that prevents the adoption of crowdsourcing. A critical challenge for these systems is how to design a proper mechanism such that the crowds spontaneously act as suppliers to contribute accurate information. Most of existing mechanisms ignore either the honesty of crowds or requesters respectively. In this paper, considering the honesty of both, we propose a game-based incentive mechanism, namely RTRC, to stimulate the crowds to contribute accurate information and to motivate the requesters to return accurate feedbacks. In addition, an evolutionary game is designed to model the dynamic of user-strategy selection. Specially, the replicator dynamic is applied to model the adaptation of strategy interactions taking into account the dynamic nature in time dependence and we also derive the evolutionarily stable strategies(ESSs) for users. Finally, empirical results over the simulations show that all the requesters and suppliers will select honest strategy to maximize their profit.
文摘Distribution system will affect the labor incentive that has been heatedly discussed by recent literatures.Using a unique micro dataset, this paper dem on strates that the equalitaria n distributi on system is one of the reas ons for the in sufficie nt labor incentive during the Chinese Collective Agriculture period. Specifically speaking, in the distribution of basic rations, the proportion for children (aged 1-3 and 4-7 years) was often beyond their nutrition demand, resulting the dissatisfaction of other families with more laborers and less children, thus these households will reduce their labor supply gradually. At the same time, the existence of outstanding accounts makes it a failure to use work points to buy distributions, which is the mechanism of the distribution system and insufficient labor incentive. All the results have been accepted by the robustness tests. The study will help to understand the distribution system and labor incentive, as well as the failure of the Chinese collective agriculture.

文摘This paper took the buyer-biased electronic market as an example, where multiple suppliers selling short-life-cycle products are bidding for an order from a powerful buyer with stochastic customer demand. It used a single period newsvendor model to analyze the decision of supplied and buyers to do or not do business online. The results suggest that lack of Incentive is the key factor of B2B electronic markets failure. At the same time, it designed a revenue sharing contract to coordinate the E-supply chain in order to prevent failure of E-market.

文摘In the 5th generation(5G)wireless communication networks,network slicing emerges where network operators(NPs)form isolated logical slices by the same cellular network infrastructure and spectrum resource.In coverage regions of access points(APs)shared by slices,device to device(D2D)communication can occur among different slices,i.e.,one device acts as D2D relay for another device serving by a different slice,which is defined as slice cooperation in this paper.Since selfish slices will not help other slices by cooperation voluntarily and unconditionally,this paper designs a novel resource allocation scheme to stimulate slice cooperation.The main idea is to encourage slice to perform cooperation for other slices by rewarding it with higher throughput.The proposed incentive scheme for slice cooperation is formulated by an optimal problem,where cooperative activities are introduced to the objective function.Since optimal solutions of the formulated problem are long term statistics,though can be obtained,a practical online slice scheduling algorithm is designed,which can obtain optimal solutions of the formulated maximal problem.Lastly,the throughput isolation indexes are defined to evaluate isolation performance of slice.According to simulation results,the proposed incentive scheme for slice cooperation can stimulate slice cooperation effectively,and the isolation of slice is also simulated and discussed.
