Computer algebra system (CAS) optimization is the set of best practices and techniques to keep the CAS running optimally. Best practices are related to how to carry out a mathematical task or configure your system. In this paper, we are going to examine these techniques. The documentation sheets of CASs are the source of data that we used to compare them and examine their characteristics. Neuromorphic devices have shown great potential in simulating the function of biological neurons due to their efficient parallel information processing and low energy consumption.MXene-Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x),an emerging twodimensional material,stands out as an ideal candidate for fabricating neuromorphic devices.Its exceptional electrical performance and robust mechanical properties make it an ideal choice for this purpose.This review aims to uncover the advantages and properties of MXene-Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)in neuromorphic devices and to promote its further development.Firstly,we categorize several core physical mechanisms present in MXene-Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)neuromorphic devices and summarize in detail the reasons for their formation.Then,this work systematically summarizes and classifies advanced techniques for the three main optimization pathways of MXene-Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x),such as doping engineering,interface engineering,and structural engineering.Significantly,this work highlights innovative applications of MXene-Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)neuromorphic devices in cutting-edge computing paradigms,particularly near-sensor computing and in-sensor computing.Finally,this review carefully compiles a table that integrates almost all research results involving MXene-Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)neuromorphic devices and discusses the challenges,development prospects,and feasibility of MXene-Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)-based neuromorphic devices in practical applications,aiming to lay a solid theoretical foundation and provide technical support for further exploration and application of MXene-Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)in the field of neuromorphic devices. 展开更多

Boron is an ambitious fuel in energetic materials since its high heat release values,but its application is prohibited by low combustion efficiency and oxidization during storage.The polydopamine(PDA)was introduced into boron particles,investigating the impact of PDA content on the energetic behavior of boron.The results indicated that the PDA coating formed a fishing net structure on the surface of boron particles.The heat release results showed that the combustion calorific value of B@PDA was higher than that of the raw boron.Specifically,the actual combustion heat of boron powder in B@10%PDA increased by 38.08%.Meanwhile,the DSC peak temperature decreased by 100.65℃under similar oxidation rate compared to raw boron.Simultaneously,the B@PDA@AP and B@AP composites were prepared,and their combustion properties were evaluated.It was demonstrated that B@10%PDA@AP exhibited superior performance in terms of peak pressure and burning time,respectively.The peak pressure is 12.43 kPa more than B@AP and burning time is 2.22 times higher than B@AP.Therefore,the coating of PDA effectively inhibits the oxidization of boron during storage and enhances the energetic behavior of boron and corresponding composites. 展开更多

This paper discusses an optimization of operating a p ermutation circulation-type vehicle routing system (PCVRS, for short), in w hich several stages are located along by a single loop, and a fleet of vehicles travels on the loop unidirectionally and repeatedly. Traveling on the loop, each vehicle receives an object from the loading stage and then carries it to a cert ain processing stage, or receives an object from a certain processing stage and then carries it to the unloading stage per a turnaround. No passing is allowed f or the vehicles on the loop (from which the system is called permutation, and th is restriction may cause interferences between vehicles). Material handling systems such as PCVRS are actually encountered in flexible man ufacturing systems and in automated storage/retrieval systems. In this paper, we propose a heuristic algorithm for operating the PCVRS, which i ncorporates a new scheduling method for the vehicles with the SPT (shortest proc essing time) numbering of jobs and a round-robin manner of allocating jobs to t he stages, aiming to reduce interferences between the vehicles. We also give num erical results with respect to system performances attained by the heuristic. Description of the system The PCVRS consists of a set of n v vehicles V={V 1,V 2,...,V n v}, a set of n s, processing stages S p={S 1,S 2,...,S n s}, a loading stage S 0 and an unloading stage S n s +1. We denote by S=S p∪{S 0,S n s+l} the set of all the stages. The vehicles travel on a single loop unidirectionany and repeated ly. The system layout is depicted in Fig.1. There is a set of n jobs J={J 1,J 2,...,J n} to be processed b y the vehicles. Each job consists of two tasks: That is, each vehicle receives a n object from S 0 and then carries it to S l with a certain l∈{1,2, ...,n s} (a throw-in job), or receives an object from S l with a certain l∈{1,2,...,n s} and then carries it to S n s+1 (a throw-out job ) per a turnaround. The loop consists of buffer zones BZ(l) and travel zones TZ(l) (see Fig. 1). Each buffer zone BZ(l) is placed in front of stage S l, l=0,1,..., n s, n s+1, in order to avoid a collision between vehicles (i.e., the syste m adopts the so-called zone control strategy). A heuristic algorithm We develop a heuristic algorithm to obtain a good performance for the PCVRS. An operation π={A/B/C} for the PCVRS consists of three decision factors: (A) Numbering jobs Jobs are loaded into S 0 according to an assending order of job numbers. In this paper, we use the following rules to number jobs: SPT: Order jobs in the shortest processing time rule, i.e., P 1≤P 2≤...≤P n for the set of jobs J={J 1,J 2,...,J n}, rather than the FCFS numbering (i.e., number jobs in first-come-first-served order). The SPT rule intends to reduce interferences between two adjacent vehicles at stages. (B) Allocating jobs to stages For the purpose of balancing loads of processing stages, we adopt the following to allocate jobs to the stages: ORDER: Allocate n jobs to n s, processing stages by an in-order manner , i.e., let l(i) be the index of processing stage allocated job J i by ORDER, it holds that l(i)=n s+1-(i-[(i-1)/n s]n s).(1) The ORDER rule intends to process jobs parallel at stages as many as possible. Probabilistic Automata-Based Method for Enhancing Performance of Deep Reinforcement Learning Systems

Deep reinforcement learning(DRL) has demonstrated significant potential in industrial manufacturing domains such as workshop scheduling and energy system management.However, due to the model's inherent uncertainty, rigorous validation is requisite for its application in real-world tasks. Specific tests may reveal inadequacies in the performance of pre-trained DRL models, while the “black-box” nature of DRL poses a challenge for testing model behavior. We propose a novel performance improvement framework based on probabilistic automata,which aims to proactively identify and correct critical vulnerabilities of DRL systems, so that the performance of DRL models in real tasks can be improved with minimal model modifications.First, a probabilistic automaton is constructed from the historical trajectory of the DRL system by abstracting the state to generate probabilistic decision-making units(PDMUs), and a reverse breadth-first search(BFS) method is used to identify the key PDMU-action pairs that have the greatest impact on adverse outcomes. This process relies only on the state-action sequence and final result of each trajectory. Then, under the key PDMU, we search for the new action that has the greatest impact on favorable results. Finally, the key PDMU, undesirable action and new action are encapsulated as monitors to guide the DRL system to obtain more favorable results through real-time monitoring and correction mechanisms. Evaluations in two standard reinforcement learning environments and three actual job scheduling scenarios confirmed the effectiveness of the method, providing certain guarantees for the deployment of DRL models in real-world applications. 展开更多

Modification and Experimental Verification of the Performance Improvement of Domestic Dehumidifiers

After optimizing the compressor design,condenser tube diameter,and tube row arrangement,air supply volumetric flow rate,and refrigerant charge of the domestic dehumidifier.The optimized design schemes were obtained from the original combinations by non-dominated sorting,and the optimized design schemes were experimentally verified under three environmental conditions according to the test method of T/CAS 342-2020 to obtain a complete idea of dehumidifier multi-component improvement.The results show that the dehumidifying capacity of Scheme 5 is slightly increased by 2.5%at 27℃/60%RH,and its energy factor is significantly increased by 24.6%.When the air supply volumetric flow rate was increased from 210 to 268 m^(3)·h^(-1),the air supply temperature was reduced by 1.7℃,improving comfort.Under environmental conditions with higher dehumidification demand,i.e.,at 35℃/90%RH,the energy factor of Scheme 4 can reach 4.3 L·kW^(-1)·h^(-1),which is 34.4%higher than the original scheme,and the gap is further widened.The application of the 5 mm tube diameter condenser in dehumidifiers reduces the amount of refrigerant charge by 25.9%,reduces the cost by 7.5%,and strengthens the heat transfer effect and the homogeneity of the two-phase mixing,which shows the great application potential. 展开更多

Title:Seismic fragility of unreinforced masonry buildings with bonded scrap tire rubber isolators under far-field and near-field earthquakes Authors:WANG Mingyang;GAO Wenjun;LU Xilin;SHI Weixing A bstract:To improve the seismic performance of unreinforced masonry(URM)buildings in the Himalayan regions,including Western China,India,Nepal,and Pakistan,a low-cost bonded scrap tire rubber isolator(BSTRI)is proposed,and a series of vertical compression and horizontal shear tests are conducted.Incremental dynamic analyses are conducted for five types of BSTRI-supported URM buildings subjected to 22 far-field and 28 near-field earthquake ground motions.The resulting fragility curves and probability of damage curves are presented and utilized to evaluate the damage states of these buildings.The results show that in the base-isolated(BI)URM buildings under seismic ground motion at a peak ground acceleration(PGA)of 1.102 g,the probability of exceeding the collapse prevention threshold is less than 25%under far-field earthquake ground motions and 31%under near-field earthquake ground motions.Furthermore,the maximum average vulnerability index for the BI-URM buildings,which are designed to withstand rare earthquakes with 9°(PGA=0.632 g),is 40.87%for far-field earthquake ground motions and 41.83%for near-field earthquake ground motions.Therefore,the adoption of BSTRIs can significantly reduce the collapse probability of URM buildings. 展开更多

Improving the accuracy of the evaluation of the performance of wind farms in large wind power bases located in complex terrain under the actual atmosphere is crucial to the sustainable development of wind power.To this end,this study combined the Weather Research and Forecasting(WRF)model with the Wind Farm Parameterization(WFP)method to investigate the wake characteristics and operational performance of large onshore wind farms in the complex terrain of Jiuquan City,Gansu Province,China.The research results showed that after verification,the systematic error of the WRF simulations was less than 3%.The WRF model and the WFP scheme simulated a significant warming phenomenon within the wind power base area,while a cooling effect was observed outside.The analysis of the wake effects indicated that the impact of PhaseⅠconstruction on PhaseⅡconstruction of the wind power base was minimal.During the operation of the entire wind power base,the wind speed within the wind farm decreased by approximately 10%,and the influence range of the predominant wind direction extended over a hundred kilometers downwind.The research conclusions provide a powerful scientific basis for optimizing design and operation,improving efficiency,minimizing the negative impacts on adjacent wind turbines,and ensuring the sustainable development of wind energy through dynamic planning and scientific assessment. 展开更多

However, most of the existing SLAM methods assume that the environment of the robot is static, which results in the performance of the system being greatly reduced in the dynamic environment. To solve this problem, a new dynamic object detection method based on point cloud motion analysis is proposed and incorporated into ORB-SLAM2. First, the method is regarded as a preprocessing stage, detecting moving objects in the scene, and then removing the moving objects to enhance the performance of the SLAM system. Experiments performed on a public RGB-D dataset show that the motion cancellation method proposed in this paper can effectively improve the performance of ORB-SLAM2 in a highly dynamic environment. 展开更多

For a distributed drive electric vehicle(DDEV) driven by four in-wheel motors, advanced vehicle dynamic control methods can be realized easily because motors can be controlled independently, quickly and precisely. And direct yaw-moment control(DYC) has been widely studied and applied to vehicle stability control. Good vehicle handling performance: quick yaw rate transient response, small overshoot, high steady yaw rate gain, etc, is required by drivers under normal conditions, which is less concerned, however. Based on the hierarchical control methodology, a novel control system using direct yaw moment control for improving handling performance of a distributed drive electric vehicle especially under normal driving conditions has been proposed. The upper-loop control system consists of two parts: a state feedback controller, which aims to realize the ideal transient response of yaw rate, with a vehicle sideslip angle observer; and a steering wheel angle feedforward controller designed to achieve a desired yaw rate steady gain. Under the restriction of the effect of poles and zeros in the closed-loop transfer function on the system response and the capacity of in-wheel motors, the integrated time and absolute error(ITAE) function is utilized as the cost function in the optimal control to calculate the ideal eigen frequency and damper coefficient of the system and obtain optimal feedback matrix and feedforward matrix. Simulations and experiments with a DDEV under multiple maneuvers are carried out and show the effectiveness of the proposed method: yaw rate rising time is reduced, steady yaw rate gain is increased, vehicle steering characteristic is close to neutral steer and drivers burdens are also reduced. The control system improves vehicle handling performance under normal conditions in both transient and steady response. State feedback control instead of model following control is introduced in the control system so that the sense of control intervention to drivers is relieved. 展开更多

Basalt Fiber Reinforced Polymer(BFRP)composites have huge potential application respects for some civil fields due to enough strength/modulus to weight and low cost by replacing carbon fiber composites.Aiming at the issues in the Resin-Rich Region(RRR)and Interfacial Transition Region(ITR)of fiber reinforced polymer composites,the characteristic Aramid Pulp(AP)fibers with micro-fiber trunk and nano-fiber branches were manufactured into multiple non-woven ultra-thin interleaving at the interlayers of BFRP composites via compression molding to reinforce the flexural strengths and elastic moduli.AP fibers were introduced into RRR to form interleaving at the interlayer,the brittle epoxy adhesive layer was improved and enabled to avoid cracking under a low external load.Free fiber branches of AP were also embedded into BF layer to construct quasi-vertical fiber bridging behaviors in ITR,stronger mechanical interlocking was created to prevent crack propagation along the bonding interface of BF/epoxy.Three-point bending testing results showed the interleaving film with 4 g/m^(2)AP exhibited the best effect among various areal densities and yielded average 315.75 MPa in flexural strength and 21.38 GPa in elastic modulus,having a 63.4%increment and a 47.1%increment respectively compared with the bases.Overall,the simple and low-cost AP interleaving is confirmed as an effective method in improving interlayer structure and flexural performance of BFRP composites,which may be considered to manufacture high-performance laminated fiber reinforced polymer composites in civil aviation industry. 展开更多

Design and Performance of an Improved Trapped Vortex Combustor 被引量:8

A trapped vortex combustor (TVC) has been a very promising novel concept for it offers improvements in lean blow out, altitude relight, operating range, as well as a potential to decrease NOx emissions compared to conventional combustors. The present paper discusses the improved designs of the new combustor over the prior ones of our research group, including that:a) the over-all dimensions, both axial and radial, are reduced to those of an actual aero-engine combustor; b) the air flow distribution is optimized, and especially 15% of the air is fed into the liner as cooling air; c) a straight-wall diffuser with divergence angle 9°is added. A series of experiments (cavity-fueled only, under atmospheric pressure) has been conducted to investigate the performance of the improved TVC. Experimental results show that at the inlet temperature of 523 K, the inlet pressure of 0.1 MPa, stable operation of the TVC test rig is observed for the Mach number 0.15-0.34, indicating good flame stability; the combustion efficiency obtained in this paper falls into the range of 60%-96%; as the total excess air ratio increases, the combustion efficiency decreases, while the increase of the inlet temperature is beneficial to high combustion efficiency; besides, the optimal Mach numbers for high combustion efficiency under different inlet conditions are confirmed. The outlet temperature profiles feature a bottom in the midheight of the exit. This paper demonstrates the feasibility for the TVC to be applied to a realistic aero-engine preliminarily and provides reference for TVC design. 展开更多

Numerical simulation is used to investigate the flow field in a model centrifugal fan for steam power stations in order to improve the performance. During testing the model fan, it is found that the efficiency is only 62.5% with inlet box, without it the efficiency is 83%. In addition, the strong vibration of test rig is observed with inlet box. It would be highly desirable if the aerodynamics of the fan could be studied. Therefore, numerical simulation is carried out to investigate the internal flow characteristics of a model fan with inlet box. The results from CFD analysis show that the whole region of the inlet box is occupied by a spiral vortex rotating inversely as the rotor's direction, which significantly affect the most flow'region inside the fan. For this reason, a dummy plate is arranged in the inlet box to impede the generation of the spiral vortex, the results from CFD after the reform demonstrate that the modification is quiet effective, the former large spiral vertex has been destroyed effectively, the large one is superseded in favor of two small vortexes. However, two small vortexes have little effect on the inner flow of the rotor and the following parts. Finally, the efficiency of the model fan is improved by the test and the strong vibration of the test rig disappears. This type of modification has been used in steam power stations, the fan efficiency raises to 84% successfully. 展开更多

The poor film formation of Cd Se/Zn S quantum dots(QDs) during spin-coating makes a substantial impact on the device performance of quantum dot light-emitting diodes(QLEDs). This work proposes a method to improve the morphology of the quantum dot light-emitting layer(EML) by adding small organic molecular 4,4'-Bis(9 H-carbazol-9-yl) biphenyl(CBP) into the layer. Its surface roughness reduces from 6.21 nm to 2.71 nm, which guarantees a good contact between hole transport layer(HTL) and EML. Consequently, the Cd Se/Zn S QDs:CBP based QLED achieves maximum external quantum efficiency(EQE) of 5.86%, and maximum brightness of 10 363 cd/m^(2). It is demonstrated that the additive of small organic molecules could be an effective way to improve the brightness and the efficiency of QLEDs. 展开更多

The influences of InGaN/GaN multiple quantum wells (MQWs) and AlGaN electron-blocking layers (EBL) on the performance of GaN-based violet laser diodes are investigated. Compared with the InGaN/GaN MQWs grown at two different temperatures, the same-temperature growth of InGaN well and GaN barrier layers has a positive effect on the threshold current and slope efficiency of laser diodes, indicating that the quality of MQWs is improved. In addition, the performance of GaN laser diodes could be further improved by increasing Al content in the AlGaN EBL due to the fact that the electron leakage current could be reduced by properly increasing the barrier height of AlGaN EBL. The violet laser diode with a peak output power of 20 W is obtained. 展开更多

Continuous CNT fibers have been directly fabricated in a speed of 50 m/h-400 m/h,based on an improved chemical vapor deposition method.As-prepared fibers are further post-treated by acid.According to the SEM images and Raman spectra,the acid treatment results in the compaction and surface modification of the CNTs in fibers,which are beneficial for the electron and load transfer.Compared to the HNO3 treatment,HClSO_3 or H_2SO_4 treatment is more effective for the improvement of the fibers' properties.After HCISO_3 treatment for 2 h,the fibers' strength and electrical conductivity reach up to-2 GPa and-4.3 MS/m,which are promoted by-200%and almost one order of magnitude than those without acid treatment,respectively.The load-bearing status of the CNT fibers are analyzed based on the downshifts of the G' band and the strain transfer factor of the fibers under tension.The results reveal that acid treatment could greatly enhance the load transfer and inter-bundle strength.With the HCISO3 treatment,the strain transfer factor is enhanced from-3.9%to-53.6%. 展开更多

The dehydroaramatization of methane over W-supported ZSM-5 with varying degrees of Li+ ion-exchanged catalysts was studied with and without oxygen at 1073 K and atmospheric pressure. Catalyst activity and stability were found to be influenced by the catalyst acidity related to Bronsted acid sites and by the presence of oxygen in the feed. The NH3-TPD and FTIR-pyridine results demonstrated that partially exchanged of H+ ions by Li+ into the W/HZSM-5 catalysts could be used to control the amount of strong acid sites on the catalyst surface. Without oxygen, the 3WHLi-Z (5:1) catalyst that has strong acid sites equal to nearly 74% of the original strong acid sites in the parent HZSM-5 exhibited the highest methane conversion and selectivity towards aromatics. However, the catalyst deactivated in a five hour period. In the presence of oxygen, the catalyst activity and stability could be improved further. The results of this study revealed that a suitable amount of strong Bronsted acid sites as well as oxygen addition in the feed increased the catalyst activity and stability. The 3WHLi-Z(5:1) catalyst exhibited improved performance in the dehydroaromatization of methane. 展开更多

Simulation,experimental evaluation and performance improvement of a cone dielectric elastomer actuator

Dielectric elastomer actuators (DEAs) are an emerging class of polymer actuation devices and have extensive application prospect in the field of robotics because of their light weight, high efficiency and large deformation. A cone DEA is manufactured and its working principle is analyzed. To obtain the deformation of elastomer and movement of DEA in advance, a finite element method (FEM) simulation is performed first. According to the working principle, two working equilibrium points of DEA, corresponding to the displacements of DEA with voltage off and on, are obtained and validated by experiments, thus work output in a workcycle is computed. Experiments show that the actuator can respond quickly when voltage is applied and can return to its original position rapidly when voltage is released. Simulation results agree well with experimental ones and the feasibility of DEA simulation is proved, and causes for the small difference between them in displacement output are analyzed. The performance of the actuator is improved from the aspects of both displacement and force output. A diamond four-bar linkage mechanism is used as the preload part and a displacement output of 17 mm is obtained. The force output of one actuating unit is about 1.77 N, so three actuating units are assembled in parallel and the force output is heightened to as high as 5.07 N. 展开更多

Up to now,so much casting analysis software has been continuing to develop the new access way to real casting processes. Those include the melt flow analysis,heat transfer analysis for solidification calculation,mechanical property predictions and microstructure predictions. These trials were successful to obtain the ideal results comparing with real situations,so that CAE technologies became inevitable to design or develop new casting processes. But for manufacturing fields,CAE technologies are not so frequently being used because of their difficulties in using the software or insufficient computing performances. To introduce CAE technologies to manufacturing field,the high performance analysis is essential to shorten the gap between product designing time and prototyping time. The software code optimization can be helpful,but it is not enough,because the codes developed by software experts are already optimized enough. As an alternative proposal for high performance computations,the parallel computation technologies are eagerly being applied to CAE technologies to make the analysis time shorter. In this research,SMP (Shared Memory Processing) and MPI (Message Passing Interface) (1) methods for parallelization were applied to commercial software "Z-Cast" to calculate the casting processes. In the code parallelizing processes,the network stabilization,core optimization were also carried out under Microsoft Windows platform and their performances and results were compared with those of normal linear analysis codes. 展开更多
