The paper particularly tackles the question of the visibility of Islamic women in the translational narrative sphere and its implication with respect to both the co-optation of "Muslim Sisterhood" within the dominant Islamist gender politics and selling political Islam to international politics. Utilizing Baker's thesis of translation as re-narration, especially narrative flaming strategies, the paper reads Mokrane Guezzou's translation of Zainab al-Ghazali's autobiography Return of the Pharaoh: Memoir in Nasir's Prison (2006) to examine the framing of al-Ghazali's personal narrative and its implications for furthering the Middle Eastern democratization march (in response to Bush's "Freedom Agenda"), while keeping the Muslim Brothers' gender politics intact. The paper's argument is the gendered politics of Guezzou's translation and their influence on the transnational and international spheres. Firstly, in tune with the expectation of the transnational constituency of Muslim Brothers' readership, al-Ghazali's personal and self-aggrandizing narrative is packaged and re-framed within the public narrative of the Muslim Brothers' gender/gendered ethos to co-opt her politicized inscription of "Muslim Sisterhood" within the Muslim Brothers' male-ranked organizational structure and thereby reproduce the mould of a "moderate" Muslim sister. The individualistic leaning of the narrative is transposed onto the meta-narratives of the Exodus in ancient times and Holocaust in modem times. The female imprint of the narrative is suppressed onto the conflict between militant masculinities with Nasir centerstaged in the title, referenced as the pharaoh, and semantically associated with Hitler and fascism in the translator's note. Her gender agency is de-framed and her visibility and access to organizational rank is harnessed to her social identity in marriage and her subscription to and fulfillment of the masculine constructed and assessed criteria of "virtue, piety and modesty" (Guezzou, 2006, p. ix). Secondly, in line with the changing dynamics of geo-strategic realities, the translational renarration contributes to configuring the race-based underpinning of Arab exceptionalism onto the compatibility of (the "purely political" and hence "moderate") Islamism with democracy through projecting the Muslim Brotherhood's anti-fascist, democratic, modern/moderate and gender inclusive image. After all, Islamic women's visibility is a testament of feminism capable of redeeming Islamism and selling "moderate" political Islam to international politics/readership.展开更多

This paper explores the integration of Hui medicine into postoperative care, focusing on herbal remedies, physical therapies, and dietary adjustments. It uses a variety of methods, such as pasting, Tazi, acupuncture, diet therapy, medicine therapy, etc., to provide comprehensive treatment for various bone diseases. In the field of Hui medicine, through in-depth research and clinical verification, more therapies and drugs with unique curative effects have been discovered. Orthopedic rehabilitation and fumigation therapy play an important role in the rehabilitation stage of the disease, helping patients recover limb function, reduce pain, and improve quality of life. This paper elaborates on the spread and influence of Islamic Arab medical civilization in China and introduces the outstanding achievements of Hui medicine department and Hui medicine as important branches of this medical system. Through the in-depth study of relevant literature and historical data, the brilliant achievements of Hui medicine in inheritance and innovation are further revealed. In addition, the article also discusses the combination of modern science, technology, and traditional medicine--which has injected new vitality into the development of traditional medicine. Hui medicine, with its unique theoretical system and therapeutic methods, offers promising approaches to enhance the recovery process. Rehabilitation, acupuncture and fumigation treatment are typical representatives of the Sinicization of Islamic Arab medical civilization, and have made important contributions to the development of traditional Chinese medicine. At the same time, the rich experience and unique therapy of Hui medicine provide useful reference and inspiration for modern medicine. This paper overviews the effectiveness of Hui medicine in promoting rapid rehabilitation after orthopedic surgery.展开更多

These formations and practices, under which identities are produced, are explored within the Diaspora space of West Yorkshire occupied by Sudanese Muslim women. The paper interrogates Sudanese women's identities and questions how the experiences of exile and Diaspora transform women's identities and influence the gender roles to which they relate. This study is an attempt to add to migration, refugee, exile and "race" studies and the studies of Black and religious identity in the Western Diaspora space. The paper maintains that if all identities are thought to operate through exclusion, then identities are constructed through difference. Therefore, the identities of African Muslim women are constructed through the relation to the Other.展开更多

However, acquiring political legitimacy at home and winning international recognition abroad remain daunting tasks for the Taliban, which will largely hinge on the group's transition away from its previously radical ideology. The ideology of the Taliban can be categorized as a brand of traditional Islamism blended with unique Afghan characteristics, which incorporates a variety of elements ranging from Deobandism, Pashtun rural and tribal cultures, Wahhabism, and Salafism to political Islam and carries a combination of many attributes. For instance, it emphasizes religious legitimacy stemming from the outward display of piety but overlooks the importance of political legitimacy. Moreover, it pursues Pashtun supremacy and practices sectarianism. However, driven by the needs of successive resistance and governance, the ideology of the Taliban has been undergoing a transition in recent years. Notably, pragmatism has begun to emerge, along with pluralism and religious inclusion;the emphasis on outward manifestations of piety has been reduced;efforts have been made to seek integration into the international system;and there appears to be a willingness to follow international norms. Despite all that, the core of the Taliban ideology remains intact, which still falls within the ambit of Islamism, as evidenced by the theocratic regime it has established in Afghanistan and its governing philosophies that advocate mullahs running the country. The Taliban has been shifting its ideology toward modern Islamism, which lacks successful governance practice. As an armed religious group, the Taliban faces tough challenges in governing the country, which include, but are not limited to, conservative mindsets and skill deficits. To tackle the challenges effectively, the Taliban should continue to focus on political legitimacy and advance the transition of its ideology.展开更多

During the Golden Age of Islam (8th to 13th century CE), the herbal drug trade promoted significant commercial and scientific exchange between China and the Muslim world. Chinese herbal drugs have been described by medieval Muslim medical scholars such as Tabari (870 CE), Rhazes (925 CE), Haly Abbas (982 CE), Avicenna (1037 CE) and Jurjani (1137 CE). The term al-sin (the Arabic word for China) is used 46 times in Avicenna's Canon of Medicine in reference to herbal drugs imported from China. Cinnamon (dar sini; "Chinese herb"), wild ginger (asaron), rhubarb (rivand-e sini), nutmeg (basbasa), incense tree wood (ood), cubeb (kababe) and sandalwood (sandal) were the most frequently mentioned Chinese herbs in Islamic medical books. There are also multiple similarities between the clinical uses of these herbs in both medical systems. It appears that Chinese herbal drugs were a major component of the exchange of goods and knowledge between China and the Islamic and later to the Western world amid this era.展开更多

Also, the research has found that financing under the Islamic management of an account has decreased intensely from the methodology created by the early scholars. In reality, these banks have received obligation based on financing techniques and underestimated the routines for financing taking into account benefit and loss sharing. This adjustment in financing technique has perversely influenced the bad name and the desire tied with the monetary part of these banks. The study focused on the reason behind the gap between theory and practice in Islamic finance. So, the study was divided in two parts: the first theoretical part of Islamic economy and Islamic banking system, the second practical part by analysing and evaluating the relative distribution of Islamic financing methods in four famous Islamic banks. The study selected a group of Asian Islamic banks as a model for analysis and evaluation through the period from 2012 to 2014. The study concluded that the gaps result from the misuse of the roles and norms of Maqasid Al-Shariah along with the diversion in the relatively allocation of the financing methods toward debt instruments rather than equity instnunents.展开更多

These principles describe the visual language within which we work. Understanding how a designer realizes things visually will help designers communicate better. Many designers use Gestalt principles to have a structure visual stimulus, so as to create interfaces that are easy for users to understand. Because the understanding of visual perception is a critical item in any designer’s toolkit. Islamic heritage buildings also contain many architectural values, especially the Sultan Hassan Mosque in Cairo. Through this paper, we will verify the use of gestalt principles of visual perception in the building design. Because the psychological organization of the design, achieves the understanding and awareness of the current relationships between the elements, depending on the extent of regularity, accuracy, and consistency of the design elements. This makes us recognize the esthetic values of Sultan Hassan’s building and mosque. The visual delight we get from architecture begins with how we perceive it. So, in order to understand how visual delight arises, we must first understand how we perceive and interpret visual stimuli. Especially since the principles of gestalt confirm that the human brain tends to make tricks and illusions. Therefore, we found the mosque designer had exploited this fact during the design process, to exclude any possibility of the resulting misunderstanding. The designer achieved the psychological preparation of the visitor by using some principles of visual perception of the Gestalt theory, such as growth, continuity, and hierarchy.展开更多

文摘History textbooks can and primarily should contribute to the strengthening of students’awareness of universal human values. However, history textbooks can also deepen the divisions, prejudices, and uncritical attitudes, contrary to the goals of education. The youth population, which is still building and creating their point of view towards the world is the main group in the education process. The learning period,in the elementary,as well as in the secondary education is of utmost importance for the development of every human. To that end, history, through the contents of the past largely shapes our perceptions of every individual, ourselves, and the others.Since we are living in a multiethnic and multi-confessional society,I have decided to conduct an analysis of the teaching contents of high school textbooks related to religion.Another reason for the analysis is the role of religion in the formation of Balkan nations, which have made it one of the key elements of their national identities. It is often given the role of raising and strengthening the national awareness, patriotism,as well as the country homogeneity, which most often leads to forming prejudices, divisions, and discrimination towards people of minority religions. The large volume of content related to the religion, and also the mere fact that Muslims are the second largest religion group in the population,I have decided to analyze the contents which are related only to the Islamic religion. The goal is to look for both the positive and negative sides of those contents in history textbooks in secondary schools, which are backed by state institutions that are supposed to take care of the development of competitive, creative, progressive, and ethically formed human potential. The critical review will give an additional impulse to the efforts of eliminating those parts of the teaching contents that create divisions and prejudices, especially in history textbooks,so that its studying can become the key factor in the building of trust between people of different religions.

文摘The study of Islamic philosophy is an interdisciplinary field that involves not only religious studies, but also various fields such as politics and society. Some achievements have been made in the field of Islamic philosophy in China. In terms of research on Islamic philosophy, each research achievement has sorted out and evaluated Islamic philosophy. But as indicated by the subtitle of the latter translated work, there was no breakthrough in the framework from Kundera to Ibn Rushd. The main characteristic of the research is to compare the research results of Western scholars, ancient Chinese philosophical ideas, and the research results of Hui Muslim scholars during the Ming and Qing dynasties in China, and to draw academic nutrition from the works of philosophical masters from ancient and modern times, both at home and abroad,in order to find one's own academic entry point. In the paper, the research achievements on Islamic philosophy in China were summarized from the perspective of academic history.
文摘As the construction of identities is said to be within and not outside discourse, identities are thus produced in specific historical and institutional sites and within specific discursive formations and practices. Therefore, the identities of African Muslim women are constructed through the relation to the Other.

文摘The Afghan Taliban(hereafter termed the Taliban) has returned to power in Afghanistan following the withdrawal of US troops from the country. To tackle the challenges effectively, the Taliban should continue to focus on political legitimacy and advance the transition of its ideology.

文摘This paper investigates some of the ways that Chinese medicine has been transferred to the Western world and to Islamic territories. It appears that Chinese herbal drugs were a major component of the exchange of goods and knowledge between China and the Islamic and later to the Western world amid this era.
文摘Perspectives of the early scholars of Islamic management of an account concurred that the arrangement of organization partnership in general and Murabah (benefit sharing) specifically is the fundamental technique on which Islamic banks must depend on contributing their money to related assets. The study concluded that the gaps result from the misuse of the roles and norms of Maqasid Al-Shariah along with the diversion in the relatively allocation of the financing methods toward debt instruments rather than equity instnunents.

文摘The gestalt principles are perception and what is visually communicated by objects. The designer achieved the psychological preparation of the visitor by using some principles of visual perception of the Gestalt theory, such as growth, continuity, and hierarchy.
