The polymerization process was traced by...Acrylate modified polyurethane resin was first synthesized, and interpenetrated with unsaturated polyester resin to form IPNs and gradient IPNs which cured at room temperature. The polymerization process was traced by an IR spectroscopy technique and the simultaneous interpenetrating techniques were determined. The morphology of these IPNs were estimated by TMA and TEM methods. The results indicated that large amount of interpenetrating and entanglement make T g linked up effectively, and domains between two phases can be in nanometre ranges, which changed with composition ratios. The mechanical properties results showed that IPNs varied from elastomeric to plastic materials. It was noteworthy that, with the introduction of modified groups and the formation of graft construction in IPNs, the miscibility in the systems was improved a lot. These further led to the improved mechanical properties of IPNs with elastomer reinforced and plasticizer toughened as well. The reinforced miscibility between the networks can apparently change mechanical property especially for the gradient ones when the materials are elongated.展开更多

The kinetics of the thermal decomposition of polysiloxane/ polymethylacrylate IPNs in N2 and air was studied at different heating rates. It was observed that there were two decomposition peaks both in N2 and air, which showed that thermal decomposition process obeyed two-step pyrolysis mechanism and accorded with the two compositions of IPN. Kinetic parameters were determined during simultaneous integration of the Doyle equation and the IPN/ s kinetics equation was one-order equation in N2 and Air. The decomposition activation energy in N2 and air were 147. 405 kJ· monl^-1 and 192.656 kJ·monl^-1 respectively.展开更多

Comparing the effect of the two synthesis methods on the morphology and mechanical properties of three-component IPNs, it was found that the compatibility of three-component IPNs depends on the component ratios and interpenetrating formation , the different synthesis methods make the entanglement and interpenetrating between networks changed. The tensile strength of SIPNs is bigger than that of SINs, while the elongation at break of SINs is bigger than that of SIPNs. The compatibility and dynamics of latex bidirectional/nterpenetrating polymer networks (LBIPNs) and latex IPN(LIPN) of poly(vinyl acetate)(PVAc) and poly (butyl acrylate )(PBA) are investigated by means of dynamic mec...The compatibility and dynamics of latex bidirectional/nterpenetrating polymer networks (LBIPNs) and latex IPN(LIPN) of poly(vinyl acetate)(PVAc) and poly (butyl acrylate )(PBA) are investigated by means of dynamic mechanical spectroscopy (DMS) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) techniques. The results of DMS show that the compatibility of the LBIPNs is much better than that of the corresponding LIPN and depends to, a large extent on the distribution of PVAc both in the core and in the shell. The results of NMR measurements indicate that the rotational correlation times of the side- groups of PBA in the LBIPN are longer than those in the LIPN. The relation between the ^(13)C linewidths of PBA and temperature is also discussed.展开更多
