The E3 ubiquitin ligase, carboxyl terminus of heat shock protein 70(Hsp70)interacting protein(CHIP),also functions as a co-chaperone and plays a crucial role in the protein quality control system. In this study,we aimed to investigate the neuroprotective effect of overexpressed CHIP on Alzheimer’s disease. We used an adeno-associated virus vector that can cross the blood-brain barrier to mediate CHIP overexpression in APP/PS1 mouse brain.CHIP overexpression significantly ameliorated the performance of APP/PS1 mice in the Morris water maze and nest building tests, reduced amyloid-βplaques,and decreased the expression of both amyloid-βand phosphorylated tau.CHIP also alleviated the concentration of microglia and astrocytes around plaques. In APP/PS1 mice of a younger age,CHIP overexpression promoted an increase in ADAM10 expression and inhibitedβ-site APP cleaving enzyme 1,insulin degrading enzyme, and neprilysin expression.Levels of HSP70 and HSP40,which have functional relevance to CHIP,were also increased.Single nuclei transcriptome sequencing in the hippocampus of CHIP overexpressed mice showed that the lysosomal pathway and oligodendrocyte-related biological processes were up-regulated,which may also reflect a potential mechanism for the neuroprotective effect of CHIP.Our research shows that CHIP effectively reduces the behavior and pathological manifestations of APP/PS1 mice.Indeed, overexpression of CHIP could be a beneficial approach for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. 展开更多

We conduct a dynamical Gutzwiller mean-field study of interacting bosons on a four-leg ladder, subject to a uniform flux. The ground states dependent on the magnetic flux and kinetic tunneling strength are explored.Consequently,we identify the super-vortical lattice,as well as the inner-Meissner phase, which presents Meissner currents just along the intimal legs within the flux ladder. The staggered-current phase is also allowed, with its formation condition altered because of the four-leg construction. The number of legs on the flux ladder can make an effect. 展开更多

FCS-like zinc finger(FLZ)gene family members are C2-C2 zinc finger proteins that take part in seed dormancy, resistance to Myzus persicae 1,sucrose signaling and abiotic stresse tolerance. However, their functions, especially the molecular mechanism through which FLZs function, are not well understood. In this study,we characterized 120FLZs in wheat and revealed the function and mechanism of TaFLZ54D increasing salt stress tolerance in transgenic wheat.Expression analysis demonstrated that TaFLZ54D can be induced by NaCl treatment and it had the highest expression level under NaCl treatment among the 120 FLZs.Over-expression of TaFLZ54D increased wheat salt stress tolerance and the transgenic plants had higher levels of superoxide dismutase(SOD)and peroxidase(POD)activities and soluble sugar content, but a lower Na^(+)/K^(+)ratio and malondialdehyde(MDA)content than the wild type(WT)plants.Potassium ion transmembrane transporters and serine/threonine kinase inhibitor proteins showed differential expression between Ta FLZ54D transgenic wheat and the WT.Yeast two hybrid and luciferase complementation assays revealed that TaSGT1 and TaPP2C are the proteins that interact directly with TaFLZ54D.In summary,TaFLZ54D enhances salt stress tolerance through interaction with TaSGT1 and TaPP2C to reduce Na^(+)absorption and mitigate oxidative stress. The interaction between TaFLZ54D and TaSGT1,as well as TaPP2C indicated a link between salt stress tolerance of TaFLZ54D and the ubiquitin-mediated degradation of negative regulatory proteins. 展开更多

Recently,large-scale trapped ion systems have been realized in experiments for quantum simulation and quantum computation. They are the simplest systems for dynamical stability and parametric resonance. In this model, the Mathieu equation plays the most fundamental role for us to understand the stability and instability of a single ion.In this work,we investigate the dynamics of trapped ions with the Coulomb interaction based on the Hamiltonian equation. We show that the many-body interaction will not influence the phase diagram for instability. Then, the dynamics of this model in the large damping limit will also be analytically calculated using few trapped ions.Furthermore,we find that in the presence of modulation, synchronization dynamics can be observed, showing an exchange of velocities between distant ions on the left side and on the right side of the trap. These dynamics resemble that of the exchange of velocities in Newton's cradle for the collision of balls at the same time. These dynamics are independent of their initial conditions and the number of ions.As a unique feature of the interacting Mathieu equation,we hope this behavior, which leads to a quasi-periodic solution, can be measured in current experimental systems. Finally,we have also discussed the effect of anharmonic trapping potential, showing the desynchronization during the collision process. It is hoped that the dynamics in this many-body Mathieu equation with damping may find applications in quantum simulations. This model may also find interesting applications in dynamics systems as a pure mathematical problem, which may be beyond the results in the Floquet theorem. 展开更多

The generation of nonclassical photons via quantum light–matter interactions is of fundamental importance in quantum optics. Here we investigate steady-state two-photon correlation function and photon squeezing in an open anisotropic Rabi lattice by applying quantum dressed master equation embedded with the mean-field approximation. The expanded antibunching effect of photons due to anisotropic qubit–photon interaction,is strongly suppressed by including inter-site photon tunneling, whereas the giant photon bunching keeps robust with weak inter-site photon tunneling strength. The microscopic processes for photon antibunching and bunching effects are presented based on incoherent transitions between eigenstates. The photon squeezing is also analyzed under the influences of qubit–photon coupling and anisotropic factor. The quadrature squeezing shows persistency by tuning on the inter-site photon tunneling, and becomes dramatically pronounced at the small anisotropic factor. Moreover, the increasing number of qubits significantly enhances quadrature squeezing with strong qubit–photon interaction. We hope such results may provide physical insights into efficient generation and manipulation of nonclassical features of photons in quantum light–matter interacting lattice systems. 展开更多

We have examined an isotropic and homogeneous cosmological model in f(R,T^(φ))gravity, where R represents the Ricci scalar and T^(φ)exhibits the energy momentum tensor's trace. We examine the stability criteria by performing the dynamical system analysis for our model f(R,T^(φ))=R+2(a T^(φ)+b),where a and b are the constants. We derive a set of autonomous equations and find their solutions by assuming a flat potential V0.We assess the equilibrium points from these equations and find the eigenvalues. We analyze the physical interpretation of the phase space for this system. We obtain three stable equilibrium points. We also examine the interaction between the scalar field and dark energy, represented by Q=ψH_(ρde)and determine the equilibrium points for this interaction. We identify four stable equilibrium points for this interaction. We calculate the values of the physical parameters for both scenarios at each equilibrium point, indicating the Universe's accelerated expansion. 展开更多

Surfactants are widely used in the fracturing fluid to enhance the imbibition and thus the oil recovery rate. However, current numerical models cannot capture the physics behind capillary imbibition during the wettability alteration by surfactants. Although the interacting capillary bundle(ICB) model shows potential in characterizing imbibition rates in different pores during wettability alteration, the existing ICB models neglect the influence of wettability and viscosity ratio on the imbibition behavior, making it difficult to accurately describe the oil-water imbibition behavior within the porous media. In this work,a new ICB mathematical model is established by introducing pressure balance without assuming the position of the leading front to comprehensively describe the imbibition behavior in a porous medium under different conditions, including gas-liquid spontaneous imbibition and oil-water imbibition. When the pore size distribution of a tight rock is known, this new model can predict the changes of water saturation during the displacement process in the tight rock, and also determine the imbibition rate in pores of different sizes. The water saturation profiles obtained from the new model are validated against the waterflooding simulation results from the CMG, while the imbibition rates calculated by the model are validated against the experimental observations of gas-liquid spontaneous imbibition. The good match above indicates the newly proposed model can show the water saturation profile at a macroscopic scale while capture the underlying physics of the multiphase flow in a porous medium at a microscopic scale. Simulation results obtained from this model indicate that both wettability and viscosity ratio can affect the sequence of fluid imbibition into pores of different sizes during the multiphase flow, where less-viscous wetting fluid is preferentially imbibed into larger pores while more-viscous wetting fluid tends to be imbibed into smaller pores. Furthermore, this model provides an avenue to calculate the imbibition rate in pores of different sizes during wettability alteration and capture the non-Darcy effect in micro-and nano-scale pores. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Colorectal cancer(CRC)causes many deaths worldwide.Synaptotagmin binding cytoplasmic RNA interacting protein(SYNCRIP)is an RNA-binding protein that plays an important role in multiple cancers by epigenetically targeting some genes. Our study will examine the expression, potential effect, biological function and clinical value of SYNCRIP in CRC.AIM To examine the expression, potential effect, biological function and clinical value METHODS The expression of SYNCRIP was examined by immunohistochemistry arrays and high-throughput data. The effect of SYNCRIP gene in CRC cell growth was evaluated by CRISPR-Cas9 technology. The target genes of SYNCRIP were calculated using various algorithms, and the molecular mechanism of SYNCRIP in CRC was explored by mutation analysis and pathway analysis. The clinical value of SYNCRIP in prognosis and radiotherapy was revealed via evidence-based medicine methods.RESULTS The protein and mRNA levels of SYNCRIP were both highly expressed in CRC samples compared to nontumorous tissue based on 330 immunohistochemistry arrays and 3640 CRC samples.Cells grew more slowly in eleven CRC cell lines after knocking out the SYNCRIP gene.SYNCRIP could epigenetically target genes to promote the occurrence and development of CRC by boosting the cell cycle and affecting the tumor microenvironment. In addition,CRC patients with high SYNCRIP expression are more sensitive to radiotherapy.CONCLUSION SYNCRIP is upregulated in CRC,and highly expressed SYNCRIP can accelerate CRC cell division by exerting its epigenetic regulatory effects. In addition,SYNCRIP is expected to become a potential biomarker to predict the effect of radiotherapy. 展开更多

To avoid missing track caused by the target maneuvers in automatic target tracking system, a new maneuvering target tracking technique called threshold interacting multiple model (TIMM) is proposed. This algorithm is based on the interacting multiple model (IMM) method and applies a threshold controller to improve tracking accuracy. It is also applicable to other advanced algorithms of IMM. In this research, we also compare the position and velocity root mean square (RMS) errors of TIMM and IMM algorithms with two different examples. This work is devoted to studying the magnon-magnon interaction effect in a two-dimensional checkerboard ferromagnet with the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction.Using a first-order Green function method,we analyze the influence of magnon-magnon interaction on the magnon band topology. We find that Chern numbers of two renormalized magnon bands are different above and below the critical temperature, which means that the magnon band gap-closing phenomenon is an indicator for one topological phase transition of the checkerboard ferromagnet. Our results show that the checkerboard ferromagnet possesses two topological phases, and its topological phase can be controlled either via the temperature or the applied magnetic field due to magnon-magnon interactions.Interestingly,it is found that the topological phase transition can occur twice with the increase in the temperature, which is different from the results of the honeycomb ferromagnet. 展开更多

Clubroot disease is a severe threat to Brassica crops globally, particularly in western Canada.Genetic resistance, achieved through pyramiding clubroot resistance(CR)genes with different modes of action,is the most important strategy for managing the disease. However, studies on the CR gene functions are quite limited. In this study,we have conducted investigations into the temporal, structural, and interacting features of a newly cloned CR gene,Rcr1,using CRISPR/Cas9 technology. For temporal functionality,we developed a novel CRISPR/Cas9-based binary vector,pHHIGR-Hsp18.2,to deliver Rcr1 into a susceptible canola line(DH12075)and observed that early expression of Rcr1 is critical for conferring resistance. For structural functionality, several independent mutations in specific domains of Rcr1 resulted in loss-offunction,highlighting their importance for CR phenotype. In the study of the interacting features of Rcr1,a cysteine protease gene and its homologous allele in canola were successfully disrupted via CRISPR/Cas9 as an interacting component with Rcr1 protein, resulting in the conversion from clubroot resistant to susceptible in plants carrying intact Rcr1.These results indicated an indispensable role of these two cysteine proteases in Rcr1-mediated resistance response. This study, the first of its kind, provides valuable insights into the functionality of Rcr1.Further,the new vector p HHIGR-Hsp18.2 demonstrated an inducible feature on the removal of add-on traits, which should be useful for functional genomics and other similar research in brassica crops. 展开更多

Thermalization in many-body systems, especially with strong interactions,is a central question in physics. In this work,we present a novel framework for the thermalization of interacting wave systems, distinguishing between trivial(no momentum exchange)and nontrivial interactions(significant energy redistribution). This distinction leads to a statistically equivalent model with weakened interactions.By applying this to FPUT-like models,we identify a unique double scaling of thermalization times.Crucially, our findings suggest the persistence of prethermalization in strong interactions. 展开更多

Ultrashort and powerful laser interactions with a target generate intense wideband electromagnetic pulses(EMPs).In this study,we report EMPs generated by the interactions between petawatt(30 fs,1.4×10^(20) W/cm^(2))femtosecond(fs)lasers with metal flat, plastic flat, and plastic nanowire-array(NWA)targets.Detailed analyses are conducted on the EMPs in terms of their spatial distribution, time and frequency domains, radiation energy, and protection. The results indicate that EMPs from metal targets exhibit larger amplitudes at varying angles than those generated by other types of targets and are enhanced significantly for NWA targets.Using a plastic target holder and increasing the laser focal spot can significantly decrease the radiation energy of the EMPs.Moreover, the composite shielding materials indicate an effective shielding effect against EMPs.The simulation results show that the NWA targets exert a collimating effect on thermal electrons, which directly affects the distribution of EMPs.This study provides guidance for regulating EMPs by controlling the laser focal spot, target parameters, and target rod material and is beneficial for electromagnetic-shielding design. 展开更多

Cotton provides the most abundant natural fiber for the textile industry. The mature cotton fiber largely consists of secondary cell walls with the highest proportion of cellulose and a small amount of hemicellulose and lignin. To dissect the roles of hemicellulosic polysaccharides during fiber development, four IRREGULAR XYLEM 15(IRX15)genes,GhIRX15-1/-2/-3/-4,were functionally characterized in cotton. These genes encode DUF579 domain-containing proteins, which are homologs of AtIRX15 involved in xylan biosynthesis. The four GhIRX15 genes were predominantly expressed during fiber secondary wall thickening, and the encoded proteins were localized to the Golgi apparatus. Each GhIRX15 gene could restore the xylan deficient phenotype in the Arabidopsis irx15irx15l double mutant.Silencing of GhIRX15s in cotton resulted in shorter mature fibers with a thinner cell wall and reduced cellulose content as compared to the wild type.Intriguingly,GhIRX15-2 and GhIRX15-4 formed homodimers and heterodimers. In addition, the GhIRX15s showed physical interaction with glycosyltransferases GhGT43C,GhGT47A and GhGT47B,which are responsible for synthesis of the xylan backbone and reducing end sequence. Moreover, the GhIRX15s can form heterocomplexes with enzymes involved in xylan modification and side chain synthesis, such as GhGUX1/2,GhGXM1/2 and GhTBL1.These findings suggest that GhIRX15s participate in fiber xylan biosynthesis and modulate fiber development via forming large multiprotein complexes. 展开更多

The behavior of the quantum correlations, information scrambling and the non-Markovianity of three entangling qubits systems via Rashba is discussed. The results showed that, the three physical quantities oscillate between their upper and lower bounds, where the number of oscillations increases as the Rashba interaction strength increases. The exchanging rate of these three quantities depends on the Rashba strength, and whether the entangled state is generated via direct/indirect interaction. Moreover, the coherence parameter can be used as a control parameter to maximize or minimize the three physical quantities. 展开更多

To address the problem that a general augmented state Kalman filter or a two-stage Kalman filter cannot achieve satisfactory positioning performance when facing uncertain noise of the micro-electro-mechanical system(MEMS) inertial sensors, a novel interacting multiple model-based two-stage Kalman filter(IMM-TSKF) is proposed to adapt to the uncertain inertial sensor noise. Three bias filters are developed based on different noise characteristics to cover a wide range of noise levels. Then, an accurate estimation of biases is calculated by the interacting multiple model algorithm to correct the bias-free filter. Thus, the vehicle positioning system can achieve good performance when suffering from uncertain inertial sensor noise. The experimental results indicate that the average position error of the proposed IMMTSKF is 25% lower than that of the general TSKF. 展开更多

An Extended Kalman Filter(EKF) is commonly used to fuse raw Global Navigation Satellite System(GNSS) measurements and Inertial Navigation System(INS) derived measurements. However, the Conventional EKF(CEKF) suffers the problem for which the uncertainty of the statistical properties to dynamic and measurement models will degrade the performance. In this research, an Adaptive Interacting Multiple Model(AIMM) filter is developed to enhance performance. The soft-switching property of Interacting Multiple Model(IMM) algorithm allows the adaptation between two levels of process noise, namely lower and upper bounds of the process noise. In particular, the Sage adaptive filtering is applied to adapt the measurement covariance on line. In addition, a classified measurement update strategy is utilized, which updates the pseudorange and Doppler observations sequentially. A field experiment was conducted to validate the proposed algorithm, the pseudorange and Doppler observations from Global Positioning System(GPS) and Bei Dou Navigation Satellite System(BDS) were post-processed in differential mode. The results indicate that decimeter-level positioning accuracy is achievable with AIMM for GPS/INS and GPS/BDS/INS configurations, and the position accuracy is improved by 35.8%, 34.3% and 33.9% for north, east and height components, respectively, compared to the CEKF counterpartfor GPS/BDS/INS. Degraded performance for BDS/INS is obtained due to the lower precision of BDS pseudorange observations. 展开更多
