We use the independence ...In this paper, we propose an impact finite element (FE) model for an airbag landing buf- fer system. First, an impact FE model has been formulated for a typical airbag landing buffer system. We use the independence of the structure FE model from the full impact FE model to develop a hierarchical updating scheme for the recovery module FE model and the airbag system FE model. Second, we define impact responses at key points to compare the computational and experimental results to resolve the inconsistency between the experimental data sampling frequency and experi- mental triggering. To determine the typical characteristics of the impact dynamics response of the airbag landing buffer system, we present the impact response confidence factors (IRCFs) to evalu- ate how consistent the computational and experiment results are. An error function is defined between the experimental and computational results at key points of the impact response (KPIR) to serve as a modified objective function. A radial basis function (RBF) is introduced to construct updating variables for a surrogate model for updating the objective function, thereby converting the FE model updating problem to a soluble optimization problem. Finally, the developed method has been validated using an experimental and computational study on the impact dynamics of a classic airbag landing buffer system.展开更多
Traumatic brain injury(TBI) is a major contributor of long-term disability and a leading cause of death worldwide. A series of secondary injury cascades can contribute to cell death, tissue loss, and ultimately to the...Traumatic brain injury(TBI) is a major contributor of long-term disability and a leading cause of death worldwide. A series of secondary injury cascades can contribute to cell death, tissue loss, and ultimately to the development of functional impairments. However, there are currently no effective therapeutic interventions that improve brain outcomes following TBI. As a result, a number of experimental TBI models have been developed to recapitulate TBI injury mechanisms and to test the efficacy of potential therapeutics. The pig model has recently come to the forefront as the pig brain is closer in size, structure, and composition to the human brain compared to traditional rodent models, making it an ideal large animal model to study TBI pathophysiology and functional outcomes. This review will focus on the shared characteristics between humans and pigs that make them ideal for modeling TBI and will review the three most common pig TBI models–the diffuse axonal injury, the controlled cortical impact, and the fluid percussion models. It will also review current advances in functional outcome assessment measures and other non-invasive, translational TBI detection and measurement tools like biomarker analysis and magnetic resonance imaging. The use of pigs as TBI models and the continued development and improvement of translational assessment modalities have made significant contributions to unraveling the complex cascade of TBI sequela and provide an important means to study potential clinically relevant therapeutic interventions.展开更多

It simplifies evaluation function into linear function, and makes the determination of weighting factor complicated. Therefore the valuation of LCIA profile is the most critical and controversial step in life cycle assessment(LCA). Development on valuation models, which are understood easily and accepted widely, is urgently needed in the field of LCA. The modeling approaches for the linear evaluation function were summed up. The modeling approaches for the nonlinear evaluation function were set up by function approximation theory, which include choosing preference products, forming preference data, establishing artificial neural network(ANN) and training ANN by preference data. By selecting 7 material products as preference product, experience was done with modeling approaches of the nonlinear evaluation function. The results show that the modeling approaches and valuation model of the nonlinear evaluation function are more practical than the weighting model.展开更多
在2010年植被碳密度空间分布结果的基础上,通过13个环境因子的1377个样点数据,建立径向基函数网络(Radial Basis Function Network,RBFN)模型,对桂西北喀斯特区植被碳密度空间分布的影响因素进行了初步探讨。研究结果显示:对该区植被碳...在2010年植被碳密度空间分布结果的基础上,通过13个环境因子的1377个样点数据,建立径向基函数网络(Radial Basis Function Network,RBFN)模型,对桂西北喀斯特区植被碳密度空间分布的影响因素进行了初步探讨。研究结果显示:对该区植被碳密度空间分布影响最为重要的前4位为地类、森林类型、林种和植被类型4个因子,其标准化重要性分别在50%以上;其次为石漠化程度、腐殖层厚度、面积等级、植被总覆盖度和土层厚度5个因子,其标准化的重要性分别在15%—30%;影响最小的是坡位、坡度、坡向和海拔4个地形因子,其标准化重要性仅2%—11%。研究表明地形因子对植被碳密度空间分布影响有限,更为重要的是土地类型、森林类型、林种和植被类型等可通过人为活动改变的因素,因此生态环境移民、退耕还林等石漠化治理措施对植被碳密度空间分布具有重要影响。展开更多
