The results indicate that EDTA can promote not only the anodic dissolution of iron. but also the passivation of iron in neutral solution. The possible reason may be attributed to that EDTA can form very stable and soluble complexes with iron. EDTA can also efficiently retard the pitting effect of Cl- ion on iron, this is due to the competitive adsorption of EDTA and Cl- ion and the formation of the complexes: FeY(2-).展开更多
