The article highlights the guiding principles which make the Conciliar Declaration Dignitatis Humanae so outstanding and prophetic in character. Initially, the article focuses on the development of the Church's doctrine from a position of "error has no rights" to one where elements of truth are recognised in other religions. The questions addressed include the foundational principles of religious freedom, its limitations, as well as the positive attitudes embraced in its exercise. The article touches upon the role of the initially ~'disinvited" John Courtney Murray (1904-1967) and the unique contribution of Pietro Pavan (1903-1994) to the Declaration, as well as the evaluation made upon it by Ladislas 0rsy (b.1921) and Robert Drinan (1920-2007). With the publication of Dignitatis Humanae, the Church took a quantum leap which allowed it to gain a degree of credibility in the context of its new commitment to religious tolerance. This leap has to be seen in connection to Lumen Gentium 16 and Nostra Aetate 2. Finally, the lasting relevance of Dignitatis Humanae is understood in the light of the Council's focused and authentic attention to human needs within a socio-political context which continues to evolve from day to day. 展开更多

There is the question--can we hope that humanism and erudition can redevelop nowadays? In the long history of humanistic inheritance, from ancient times till the end of the 18th century, there was obvious decadence of essential humanistic points. As the historial period, humanism means revival of classical culture, and as a specific culturological phenomenon, it means erudite education created by Hellens and developed by Romans, who recovered "humanitas" as global education. Italy was the first who helped humanists to contemplate on classical culture; and in post-medieval age, Italian humanists achieved a supreme measure of humanism through their "humanistic studies." We will try to point out good achievements of humanism erudite education in European culture in later epochs. Humanism leads man to turn over to world--after medieval stricture--and it becomes self-conscious revolution, what we can see in Latin literature till the 18th century. Rise of individualism, development of libraries and humanistic academies give chance to latin tradition in European literature as universal discipline, including erudite education in international corpus (Ragusa also). High-intellectual and latinized elites with humanistic state of mind develop complex spiritual inteligency with science requests in later epochs too. We will try to explain in which degree humanism, with its synthetic point of view, influences on later corpus of European literary themes and how great its actuallity is nowdays. 展开更多

To better understand the epidemiological characteristics of human adenovirus(HAdv)infections in China during and after the coronavirus disease 2019(COvVID-19)pandemic,respiratory specimens were collected from 17,562 enrolled patients with acute respiratory infections(ARIs)in 14 sentinel surveillance provinces during 2020-2023.Eight common respiratory viruses were detected using commercially available nucleic acid detection kits.HAdV-positive cases were statistically analyzed for detection rates, geographic distribution, seasonal patterns, demographic characteristics, and co-infection status. The results of this study showed that the overall HAdV detection rate was 5.09%(894/17,562)during 2020-2023,with a gradual decrease in the annual detection rate from 6.66%in 2020 to 3.89%in 2022 and a rebound in 2023(5.19%).The overall HAdV detection rate was significantly higher in the southern region(6.15%)than in the northern region(4.76%)(P<0.001).The median age of patients with HAdv infection was 3 years, with infants aged 0-2 years accounting for the majority(41.39%).HAdV-positive cases were detected throughout the year, with no clear seasonal pattern, and the HAdV epidemic in China during 2020-2023 may have been driven primarily by the virus infection in the southern region.Co-infections were frequent in HAdV-positive cases(overall rate:36.01%),primarily consisting of dual infections(79.28%),with human rhinovirus and human respiratory syncytial virus being the most common coinfecting pathogens. In conclusion, this study suggested the significant regional and temporal variation in HAdV detection rate in China during 2020-2023,and thus ongoing surveillance should be conducted to elucidate the epidemiological dynamics of HAdV infections. 展开更多
