The effect of homogenization time on quench sensitivity of a cast 7085 aluminum alloy was investigated by means of end-quenching test, optical microscope (OM), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and transmission electron microscope (TEM). The results show that with the increase of homogenization time from 48 h to 384 h, quench sensitivity increased slightly as the largest difference in the hardness was increased from 5.2% to 6.9% in the end-quenched and aged specimens. Prolonging homogenization had little effect on the grain structure, but improved the dissolution of soluble T phase and resulted in larger Al3Zr dispersoids with a low number density. Some small quench-induced η phase particles on Al3Zr dispersoids were observed inside grains during slow quenching, which decreased hardness after subsequent aging. The change in the character of Al3Zr dispersoids exerted slight influence on quench sensitivity. 展开更多

Semi-quantitative electron probe microanalysis (EPMA) mapping, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) were employed to study the effect of one-step and two-step treatments on the Zr distribution and Al3Zr dispersoid characteristics in as-cast commercial AA7150 aluminum alloy. It is shown that the Zr concentration in the dendrite centre regions is higher than that near the dendrite edges in the as-cast condition, and that homogenization at 460 °C for 20 h is insufficient to remove these concentration gradients. After homogenizing at 460-480 °C, a high number density of larger dispersoids can be observed in dendrite centre regions but not near dendrite edges. Furthermore, the dispersoid size increases with increasing the temperature during both one-step and two-step homogenization treatments. 展开更多

Y2O3: Er^3+, Yb^3+ nanoparticles were synthesized by a homogeneous precipitation method without and with different concentrations of EDTA 2Na. Upconversion luminescence spectra of the samples were studied under 980 nm laser excitation. The results of XRD showed that the obtained Y2O3:Er^3+,Yb^3+ nanoparticles were of a cubic structure. The average crystallite sizes calculated were in the range of 28-40 nm. Green and red upconversion emission were observed, and attributed to ^2H11/2,^4S3/2→^4I15/2 and ^4F9/2→^4I15/2 transitions of the ion, respectively. The ratio of the intensity of green emission to that of red emission drastically changed with a change in the EDTA 2Na concentration. In the sample synthesized without EDTA, the relative intensity of the green emission was weaker than that of the red emission. The relative intensities of green emission increased with the increased amount of EDTA 2Na used. The possible upconversion luminescence mechanisms were discussed. 展开更多

Laser 3D printing based on melt growth has great potential in rapid preparation of Al_(2)O_(3)-based eutectic ce ramics.In this work,la rge-scale Al_(2)O_(3)/GdAlO_(3)/ZrO_(2)ternary eutectic ceramic rod with diameter of 4-5 mm and height higher than 250 mm was additively manufactured by laser directed energy deposition.Especially,heat treatment was applied to eliminate the microstructure heterogeneity in the as-deposited eutectic ceramic,and the microstructure homogenization mechanism was studied in depth.The results indicate that colonies and banded structures completely disappear after the heat treatment,producing a homogeneous network eutectic structure.The microstructure homogenization is revealed to experience three stages of discontinuous coarsening,continuous coarsening and microstructure coalescence.Additionally,it is found that the eutectic spacing linearly increases with the heat treatment time,meaning that the coarsening behavior of the laser 3D-printed Al_(2)O_(3)/GdAlO_(3)/ZrO_(2)eutectic ceramic satisfies well with the Graham-Kraft model. 展开更多

A comprehensive study on the microstructural evolution of a new type Al-Zn-Mg-Cu-Er-Zr alloy duringhomogenization was conducted by optical microscope,scanning electron microscope,transmission electron microscopy and X-raydiffraction analysis.The results show that serious segregation exists in as-cast alloy,and the primary phases are T(AlZnMgCu),S(Al2CuMg)and Al8Cu4Er,which preferentially locate in the grain boundary regions.The soluble T(AlZnMgCu)and S(Al2CuMg)phases dissolve into the matrix gradually during single-stage homogenized at465°C with prolonging holding time,but the residualAl8Cu4Er phase cannot dissolve completely.Compared with the single-stage homogenization,both a finer particle size and a highervolume fraction of L12-structured Al3(Er,Zr)dispersoids can be obtained in the two-stage homogenization process.A suitablehomogenization scheme for the present alloy is(400°C,10h)+(465°C,24h),which is consistent with the results of homogenizationkinetic analysis. 展开更多

The microstructure and corrosion behavior of the as-homogenized and as-extruded Mg-xLi-3Al-2Zn-0.5Y alloys(x=4,8,12,wt.%)were studied.The results show that as the Li content increases from 4%to 12%,the matrix transfers from singleα-Mg phase,(α-Mg+β-Li)dual phase to singleβ-Li phase.A mixed corrosion feature of intergranular corrosion and pitting corrosion occurs in the Mg-4Li-3Al-2Zn-0.5Y and Mg-12Li-3Al-2Zn-0.5Y alloys.The former is related to the precipitated AlLi phase along the grain boundaries,and the latter is related to the high potential difference between the second phase and the matrix.The corrosion resistance of the as-extruded alloys is better than that of the as-homogenized alloys.The superior corrosion resistance of the as-extruded Mg-8Li-3Al-2Zn-0.5Y alloy with the lowest corrosion rate(P_(W)=(0.63±0.26)mm/a)is attributed to the more uniform distribution of second phases,the protectiveα-Mg phase via sacrificing theβ-Li phase and the relatively integrated oxide film. 展开更多

Acid-catalyzed dehydration of alcohols has been widely employed for the synthesis of alkenes. However, activated alcohols when employed as substrates in dehydration reactions are often pla-gued by the lack of alkene selectivity. In this work, the reaction system can be significantly improved through enhancing the performance of Lewis acid catalysts in the dehydration of activated alcohols by combining with a Lewis base. Observations of the reaction mechanism revealed that the Lewis base component might have changed the reaction rate order. Although both the principal and side reaction rates decreased, the effect was markedly more observed on the latter reaction. Therefore, the selectivity of the dehydration reaction was improved. On the basis of this observation, a new route to synthesize 2-cinnamyl-1,3-dicarbonyl compounds was developed by using 2-aryl-3,4- di-hydropyran as a starting substrate in the presence of a Lewis acid/Lewis base combined catalyst system. 展开更多

A superior Ce-Ta-Sb composite oxide catalyst prepared using homogeneous precipitation method exhibited excellent deNOx efficiency and nearly 100% Nselectivity with broad operation temperature window and better resistance to higher space velocity, meanwhile strong resistance to HO and SO. This catalyst was systematically characterized using XRD, Nadsorption, SEM, TEM, XPS, ESR, Raman, H-TPR,NH3-TPD and in situ DRIFTS. There exists a synergistic effect between Ce, Ta and Sb species. It is further indicated that the prominent deNOx performance of the Ce3 Ta3 SbOx catalyst is attributed to the elevated Ce3+ concentrations, abundant active surface oxygen species, as well as surface acidity and reducibility,which is closely linked with the synergistic effect between Ce, Sb and Ta species. Results from DRIFTS reveal that the reaction mechanism of surface-adsorbed NH3 and NOspecies is linked to temperature,the L-H mechanism mainly occurs at low temperature(<300 ℃),while the E-R mechanism occurs at high temperature(>300 ℃). Overall,these findings indicate that Ce3 Ta3 SbOx is promising for NOpractical abatement. 展开更多

Nanocrystalline Gd3Ga5O12:Eu3+ with cubic phase was prepared by a urea homogeneous precipitation method. X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), thermo-gravimetric and differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA) and photoluminescence spectra were used to characterize the samples. The effects of the initial solution pH value and urea content on the structure of the sample were studied. The XRD results show that pure phase Gd3Ga5O12 can be obtained at pH =6 and pH =8 of the initial solution. The average crystallite size can be calculated as in the range of 24~33 nm. The average crystallite size decreases with increasing molar ratio of urea to metal ion. The results of excitation spectra and emission spectra show that the emission peaks are ascribed to 5D0→7FJ transitions of Eu3+, and the magnetic dipole transition originated from 5D0 →7F1 of Eu3+ is the strongest; the broad excitation bands belong to change transfer band of Eu?O and the host absorption of Gd3Ga5O12. An efficient energy transfer occurs from Gd3+ to Eu3+. 展开更多

The effect of homogenization on the hardness,tensile properties,electrical conductivity and microstructure of as-cast Al-6Mg-0.4Mn-0.25Sc-0.12Zr alloy was studied.The results show that during homogenization as-cast studied alloy has obviously hardening effect that is similar to aging hardening behavior in traditional Al alloys.The precipitates are mainly Al3(Sc,Zr)and Al6Mn.When homogenization temperature increases the hardness peak value is declined and the time corresponding to hardness peak value is shortened.The electrical conductivity of the alloy monotonously increases with increasing homogenization temperature and time.The decomposition of the supersaturated solid solution containing Sc and Zr which is formed during direct chilling casting and the precipitation of Al3(Sc,Zr)cause hardness increasing.The depletion of the matrix solid solubility decreases the ability of electron scattering in the alloy,resulting in the electrical conductivity increased.Tensile property result at hot rolling state shows that the optimal homogenization treatment processing is holding at 300-350 ℃ for 6-8 h. 展开更多

We want to explore the analgesic brain effect of the moxibustion at heat-sensitized Yaoyangguan(GV3)in patients with lumbar disc herniation(LDH)and myofascial pain syndrome(MPS).In an assessor-blinded observational study,we will include 15 LDH and 15 MPS.They will accept same treatment of heat-sensitive moxibustion at Yaoyangguan(GV3).The resting-state functionality magnetic resonance imaging image data of brain activities before and after treatment will be analyzed by mean fractional amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation,regional homogeneity analysis and brain functional connection.We select seed of first sensory cortex,second sensory cortex,insula cortex,periaqueductal gray and anterior cingulate cortex as the regions of interest to analyse the relationship between brain functional connectivity of pain-related networks and clinical data.Our study could disclose key brain targets and central response characteristics of the analgesic brain effect and the brain functional connection of heat-sensitive moxibustion. 展开更多

In this work,a technique was proposed to prepare UO_(2)from UO_(3)by the two processes of fluorination reaction of UO_(3)with NH_(4)HF_(2)and electrochemical reduction of UO_(2)^(2+)for the recycle uranium.The feasibility of fluorination reaction was firstly confirmed using thermodynamic calculation;then,the products were analyzed using XRD,Raman and fluorescence to be UO_(2)F_(2).The fluorination mechanism was inferred to be UO_(3)(s)+NH_(4)HF_(2)→(NH_(4))_(3)UO_(2)F_(5)→NH_(4)(UO_(2))_(2)F_(5)→UO_(2)F_(2).The redox behavior of UO_(2)^(2+)on W electrode was investigated by cyclic voltammetry and square wave voltammetry,which indicated that UO_(2)^(2+) was reduced to UO_(2)via a two-step single electron transfer with diffusion-controlled.The diffusion coefficient of UO_(2)^(2+) was calculated to be 6.22×10^(-5)cm/s.The disproportionation reaction of UO_(2)^(+) was observed,and the relationship between the disproportionation reaction and scan rate was discussed.Moreover,the electrochemical fabrication of UO_(2) was conducted by electrolysis at-0.8 V,and the product was analyzed by XRD,SEM and EDS to be UO_(2).ICP-AES results showed that the extraction efficiency of UO_(2) could reach 98.53%. 展开更多

Ultrafine alumina power was obtained by calcining the precursor at 1 200 ℃ for 2 h, which was prepared by homogeneous precipitation method using aluminium salts and urea as raw materials. The effects of anions on the morphology, particle size, surface area and configuration of the precursors were studied. The results show that the reactions of urea with aluminium nitrate and aluminium chloride result in agglomerates gels with bad filtering performance, the morphology is fibrillar. Aluminium sulphate-urea reactions result in the direct formation of amorphous powders with good filtering performance, of which morphology are regular spherical particles with larger granularity and smaller surface area. The reaction of mutual compound of aluminium sulphate and aluminium nitrate with molar ratio of 40:60 with urea can produce precursor with good filtering performance, spherical morphology, and uniform granularity distribution in the particle size range of 2-3 μm. 展开更多

SmOHCO3micro/nano particles were prepared in water/oil (W/O) reverse microemulsion composed of cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB), n-octane, n-butanol, Sm(NO3)3·6H2O and urea aqueous solution by the coupling route of homogeneous precipitation with microemulsion. The nanoparticles were characterized and analyzed by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), thermal gravimetric and differential thermal gravimetric analysis (TG-DTG), Fourier transform infrared absorption spectra (FT-IR) and scan-ning electron microscope (SEM). The results showed that the phase SmOHCO3 micro/nano particles was in agreement with pure or-thorhombic phase. The different morphologies of SmOHCO3 micro/nano particles with good monodispersity and size were obtained by regulating the reaction temperature and reaction time. Possible formation mechanisms of the morphological structure of SmO-HCO3 were proposed and discussed. 展开更多

The precursor was obtained by homogeneous precipitation of yttrium and europium with oxalic acid when using EDTA, citric acid or starch as complexant. The structure and morphology of the phosphors were characterized by XRD and SEM, respectively. The influence of complexing environment, firing temperature and molten salts on formation of the phosphor Y2O3:Eu3+ was discussed. The result show that the prepared Y2O3:Eu3+ phosphor is of quasi-spherical structure with size of 2-3 μm. Its luminescent intensity is 30% higher than that of the same phosphor prepared by the same procedure but without molten salts, and is 5% higher than that of commercial Y2O3:Eu3+ red phosphor. 展开更多

This article proposes a modeling method for C/C-ZrC composite materials.According to the superposition of Gaussian random field,the original gray model is obtained,and the threshold segmentation method is used to generate the C-ZrC inclusion model.Finally,the fiber structure is added to construct the microstructure of the three-phase plain weave composite.The reconstructed inclusions can meet the randomness of the shape and have a uniform distribution.Using an algorithm based on asymptotic homogenization and finite element method,the equivalent thermal conductivity prediction of the microstructure finite element model was carried out,and the influence of component volume fraction on material thermal properties was explored.The sensitivity of model parameters was studied,including the size,mesh sensitivity,Gaussian complexity,and correlation length of the RVE model,and the optimal calculation model was selected.The results indicate that the volume fraction of the inclusion phase has a significant impact on the equivalent thermal conductivity of the material.As the volume fraction of carbon fiber and ZrC increases,the equivalent thermal conductivity tensor gradually decreases.This model can be used to explore the impact of materialmicrostructure on the results,and numerical simulations have studied the relationship between structure and performance,providing the possibility of designing microstructure based on performance. 展开更多

Synthesis and Luminescence Properties of Gd_2O_3∶Eu^(3+) Phosphors

Gd 2O 3∶Eu 3+ phosphors were prepared by urea homogeneous precipitation with different surfactant and sol-gel method. XRD patterns show that all the obtained samples are in cubic Gd 2O 3, and the results of FTIR and fluorescent spectra conformed that OP is a good surfactant for preparing the Gd 2O 3∶Eu 3+ phosphors. The SEM photographs show that the particles prepared by urea homogeneous precipitation method are all spherical and well-dispersed, and grain morphology can be controlled by different surfactant. XRD and SEM indicate that the particle sizes prepared by sol-gel method are in the range of 5~30 nm, and the grain sizes increase with increasing of heated temperatures. Luminescence spectra indicat that the main emission peaks of all samples are at 610 nm, the intensities are different from samples prepared with different surfactant and the luminescence intensities increase with increasing of annealed temperatures. 展开更多
