This method results in inaccuracy, which is a serious problem in Geoga Grand Bridge construction work that tried to link the mainland and the islands. The Geoga Grand Bridge (Pusan-Geoje fixed link project) was selected as the study area, a huge construction work in Korea that will connect the mainland (Pnsan) and an island (Gecje island). However, the orthometric heights issued at benchmarks (JINH and GOFJ) were not consistent, because they did not refer to the same zero point, which would make the linking of the sections problematic. This paper introduces the precise local geoidas a vertical datum for the construction area in order to establish a consistent height system. To determine the precise local geoid for the construction area, we firstly developed a precise gravimetric geoid for Korea and its adjoining seas as a whole. This gravimetric geoid was developed by use of all available gravity data, including surface and satellite data on land and on the ocean. The gravimetrie gecid was computed by spherical fast fourier transform with modified Stokes' kernels. The remove-restore technique was used to eliminate the terrain effects by use of the RTM reduction and to determine the residual geoid by combining the GGM02S/EGM96 geopotential model, free-air gravity anomalies and high-resolutinn DEM data. Finally, the gravimetric model was fitted to the geoid heights obtained from GPS and tide observations (Ncps/Tiae) by least square coUocatian, to provide the final GPS-consistent local precise geoid model. The post-fit error (std. dev. ) of the final geoid to the NetS/Tide derived from GPS and tide observations was ± 2.2 cm for the construction area. We solved the height inconsistency problem by calculating the orthometric height of the benchmarks and the cnntrol points using the final geoid model. Also, the highly accurate orthometric height was estimated through the GPS/leveling technique by applying the developed local precise geoid. Therefore, the precise local geoid is expected to improve the quality of the construction procedure of the Geoga Grand Bridge.展开更多

In fact, electronically controlled air suspension (ECAS) has excellent performance in flexible height adjustment during different driving conditions. However, the nonlinearity of the ride height adjusting system and the uneven distribution of payload affect the control accuracy of ride height and the body attitude. Firstly, the three-point measurement system of three height sensors is used to establish the mathematical model of the ride height adjusting system. The decentralized control of ride height and the centralized control of body attitude are presented to design the ride height control system for ECAS. The exact feedback linearization method is adopted for the nonlinear mathematical model of the ride height system. Secondly, according to the hierarchical control theory, the variable structure control (VSC) technique is used to design a controller that is able to adjust the ride height for the quarter-vehicle anywhere, and each quarter-vehicle height control system is independent. Meanwhile, the three-point height signals obtained by three height sensors are tracked to calculate the body pitch and roll attitude over time, and then by calculating the deviation of pitch and roll and its rates, the height control correction is reassigned based on the fuzzy algorithm. Finally, to verify the effectiveness and performance of the proposed combined control strategy, a validating test of ride height control system with and without road disturbance is carried out. Testing results show that the height adjusting time of both lifting and lowering is over 5 s, and the pitch angle and the roll angle of body attitude are less than 0.15°. This research proposes a hierarchical control method that can guarantee the attitude stability, as well as satisfy the ride height tracking system.展开更多

Along two different routes, with a length of about 5 kilometers, precise leveling and gravity measurements are done. One of the routes is in an even field while the other is in a rough field. The magnitudes of orthometric, normal and dynamic corrections are calculated for each route. Orthometric, dynamic, and normal height differences are acquired by adding the corrections to the height differences obtained from geometric leveling. The magnitudes of the corrections between the two routes are compared. In addition, by subtracting orthometric, dynamic, and normal heights from geometric leveling, deviations of these heights from geometric leveling are counted.展开更多

The National Geodetic Services of many countries are trying to establish a new system that can provide the customers and decision-makers with high accuracy basic geodetic data obtained by modern satellite measurements. Although, Mongolia has a long tradition with geodesy and land surveying, the country still lacks a refined height system that can be effectively used for mapping and other purposes. In the present study, we tried to solve the problem related to the Mongolian height system using of a modern satellite technology. The research had some very important results: 1) evaluation of the main height network and height system of Mongolia, 2) development of a new method for calculating the normal height system in Mongolia, and 3) creation of the height unified system by considering surface potential of the global ellipsoidal level as normal.展开更多

This paper proposes a new adaptive controller to control the vehicle height and to adjust the roll and pitch angles of the vehicle body(leveling control) during the vehicle height adjustment procedures by an EAS system. A nonlinear mechanism model of the full?car vehicle height adjustment system is established to reflect the system dynamic behaviors and to derive the system optimal control law. To deal with the nonlinear characters in the vehicle height and leveling adjustment processes, the nonlinear system model is globally linearized through the state feedback method. On this basis, a fuzzy sliding mode controller(FSMC) is designed to improve the control accuracy of the vehicle height adjustment and to reduce the peak values of the roll and pitch angles of the vehicle body. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed control method more accurately, the full?car EAS system model programmed using AMESim is also given. Then, the co?simulation study of the FSMC performance can be conducted. Finally, actual vehicle tests are performed with a city bus, and the test results illustrate that the vehicle height adjustment performance is effectively guaranteed by the FSMC, and the peak values of the roll and pitch angles of the vehicle body during the vehicle height adjustment procedures are also reduced significantly. This research proposes an effective control methodology for the vehicle height and leveling adjustment system of an EAS, which provides a favorable control performance for the system.展开更多

A control strategy for a shearer height adjusting system based on a mathematical model of the height adjusting mechanism is proposed. It considers the non-linearity and time variations in the control process and uses Dynamic Fuzzy Neural Networks (D-FNN). The inverse characteristics of the system are studied. An adaptive on-line learning and error compensation mechanism guarantees sys- tem real-time performance and reliability. Parameters from a German Eickhoff SL500 shearer were used with Maflab/Simulink to simulate a height adjusting control system. Simulation shows that the trace error of a D-FNN controller is smaller than that of a PID controller. Also, the D-FNN control scheme has good generalization and tracking performance, which allow it to satisfy the needs of a shearer height adjusting system.展开更多

However, the measurement accuracy and error sources have not been systematically explored for this system.Method: In this study, we used the LiBackpack D-50 system to measure the diameter at breast height(DBH) for a Pinus sylvestris tree population in the Saihanba National Forest Park of China, and estimated the accuracy of LiBackpack measurements of DBH based on comparisons with manually measured DBH values in the field. We determined the optimal vertical slice thickness of the point cloud sample for achieving the most stable and accurate LiBackpack measurements of DBH for this tree species, and explored the effects of different factors on the measurement error.Result: 1) A vertical thickness of 30 cm for the point cloud sample slice provided the highest fitting accuracy(adjusted R2= 0.89, Root Mean Squared Error(RMSE) = 20.85 mm);2) the point cloud density had a significant negative, logarithmic relationship with measurement error of DBH and it explained 35.1% of the measurement error;3) the LiBackpack measurements of DBH were generally smaller than the manually measured values, and the corresponding measurement errors increased for larger trees;and 4) by considering the effect of the point cloud density correction, a transitional model can be fitted to approximate field measured DBH using LiBackpackscanned value with satisfactory accuracy(adjusted R2= 0.920;RMSE = 14.77 mm), and decrease the predicting error by 29.2%. Our study confirmed the reliability of the novel LiBackpack system in accurate forestry inventory, set up a useful transitional model between scanning data and the traditional manual-measured data specifically for P.sylvestris, and implied the applicable substitution of this new approach for more species, with necessary parameter calibration.展开更多

The main detrainment height determines the level to which the air parcel is lifted. We analyzed the main detrainment height over the Tibetan Plateau and its southern slope based on the CloudSat Cloud Profiling Radar 2B_GEOPROF dataset and the Aura Microwave Limb Sounder Level 2 cloud ice product onboard the Atrain constellation of Earth-observing satellites. It was found that the DCSs over the Tibetan Plateau and its southern slope have a higher main detrainment height (about 10-16 km) than other regions in the same latitude. The mean main detrainment heights are 12.9 and 13.3 km over the Tibetan Plateau and its southern slope, respectively. The cloud ice water path decreases by 16.8% after excluding the influences of DCSs, and the height with the maximum increase in cloud ice water content is located at 178 hPa (about 13 km). The main detrainment height and outflow horizontal range are higher and larger over the central and eastern Tibetan Plateau, the west of the southern slope, and the southeastern edge of the Tibetan Plateau than that over the northwestern Tibetan Plateau. The main detrainment height and outflow horizontal range are lower and broader at nighttime than during daytime.展开更多

Considering the resolution and space coverage of different remote sensing data, two types of sea surface height(SSH) product are employed in the assimilation, including the gridded products from AVISO and the original along-track observations used in the generation. To explore their impact on the assimilation results, an experiment focus on the South China Sea(SCS) is conducted based on the Regional Ocean Modeling System(ROMS) and the four-dimensional variational data assimilation(4 DVAR) technology. The comparison with EN4 data set and Argo profile indicates that, the along-track SSH assimilation result presents to be more accurate than the gridded SSH assimilation, because some noises may have been introduced in the merging process. Moreover, the mesoscale eddy detection capability of the assimilation results is analyzed by a vector geometry–based algorithm. It is verified that, the assimilation of the gridded SSH shows superiority in describing the eddy's characteristics, since the complete structure of the ocean surface has been reconstructed by the original data merging.展开更多

The advantage of using sUAS technology is the ability to acquire a high-resolution orthophoto and a 3D Model which is highly suitable for plant height monitoring. Plant height estimation has a big impact in the growth and development of wheat because it is essential for obtaining biomass, which is a factor for higher crop yield. Plant height is an indicator of high yield estimation and it correlates to biomass, nitrogen content, and other plant growth parameters. The study is aimed to determine an accurate height of wheat using the sUAS generated Digital Surface Model (DSM). A high-resolution imagery between 1.0 - 1.2 cm/pixel was obtained from a 35 m altitude with area coverage of 1.01 hectares. The DSM and orthophoto were generated from the sUAS, and the computed wheat heights were derived from the difference of Digital Elevation Model (DEM) and DSM data. Field measurement using steel tape was done for ground truth. The sUAS-based wheat height data were evaluated using the ground truth of 66 wheat-rows by applying correlation and linear regression analysis. Datasets were collected from three different flight campaigns (March 2018-May 2018). The sUAS-based wheat height data were significantly correlated, obtaining the result of R2 = 0.988, R2 = 0.996 and R2 = 0.944 for the month of March, April and May 2018 respectively. The significance of linear regression results was also validated by computing for the p-value. The p-value results were 0.00064, 0.0000824 and 0.0058 respectively. The main concern is the lodging of winter wheat, especially during the month of April which affects the recording of the plant’s height. Because some of the wheat plants are now lying on the ground, so measurements are done vertically. Nonetheless, the results showed that sUAS technology is highly suitable for many agricultural applications.展开更多

It is found that the largest levitation force can be obtained in the system with the width of the middle magnet of the PMG equal to the size of the YBCO bulk when the gap between the YBCO bulk and PMG is small. Both larger levitation force and higher levitation height can be obtained in the system with the width of the middle magnet of the PMG larger than the size of the YBCO bulk. The stiffness of the levitation force between the PMG and the YBCO bulk is higher in the system with a smaller width of the middle magnet in the PMG. These results provide an effective way to control the levitation force and the levitation height for the superconducting maglev design and applications.展开更多

Testing results show that the height adjusting time of both lifting and lowering is over 5 s, and the pitch angle and the roll angle of body attitude are less than 0.15°. This research proposes a hierarchical control method that can guarantee the attitude stability, as well as satisfy the ride height tracking system.
文摘Geopotential, dynamic, orthometric and normal height systems and the corrections related to these systems are evaluated in this paper. In addition, by subtracting orthometric, dynamic, and normal heights from geometric leveling, deviations of these heights from geometric leveling are counted.
文摘In recent years, development of a proper country-specific height system has become a major challenge for the scholars and specialists working in the field of geodesy. The research had some very important results: 1) evaluation of the main height network and height system of Mongolia, 2) development of a new method for calculating the normal height system in Mongolia, and 3) creation of the height unified system by considering surface potential of the global ellipsoidal level as normal.
文摘The article presents a methodology for transitioning to the Amsterdam height system based on utilizing global and regional geoid/quasi-geoid models. The study was conducted for the Polish-Ukrainian cross-border sector and expanded to the entire territory of Poland and Ukraine. The input data comprised two regional and five global geoid/quasi-geoid models. The initial data analysis was conducted for all models relative to GNSS/leveling data in the Baltic height system. The secondary analysis was performed relative to the combined PL-quasi-geoid2021 model and the gravimetric EGG2015 model.Based on the analysis results,a methodology for optimizing heights between regional and global geoid/quasi-geoid models was developed, including the following stages:calculation of conditional global and regional geoid/quasi-geoid heights, calculation of approximately predicted height differences between the conditional regional and global geoid/quasi-geoid,implementation of the refinement(correction)of approximate heights at the regional model, optimization of approximate heights at the regional model, and calculation of a regional combined model in the Amsterdam height system. The developed methodology enables the integration of regional and global geoid/quasi-geoid models into the Amsterdam height system with an accuracy of 1-2 cm by optimizing their heights. The advantage of this methodology is that it requires only a minimal amount of GNSS/leveling data to establish connections between different height systems.

文摘In Earth system modeling, the land surface is coupled with the atmosphere through surface turbulent fluxes. These fluxes are computed using mean meteorological variables between the surface and a reference height in the atmosphere. However, the dependence of flux computation on the reference height, which is usually set as the lowest level in the atmosphere in Earth system models, has not received much attention.Based on high-resolution large-eddy simulation(LES)data under unstable conditions,we find the setting of reference height is not trivial within the framework of current surface layer theory. With a reasonable prescription of aerodynamic roughness length(following the setting in LESs),reference heights near the top of the surface layer tend to provide the best estimate of surface fluxes, especially for the momentum flux.Furthermore, this conclusion for the sensible heat flux is insensitive to the ratio of roughness length for momentum versus heat. These results are robust, whether using the classical or revised surface layer theory. They provide a potential guide for setting the proper reference heights for Earth system modeling and can be further tested in the near future using observational data from land–atmosphere feedback observatories.
文摘Ultra thin epitaxial CoSi 2 films are fabricated by solid state reaction of a deposited bilayer of Co(3nm)/Ti (1nm) on n Si(100) substrates at different temperatures. The local barrier heights of the CoSi 2/Si contacts are determined by using the ballistic electron emission microscopy (BEEM) and its spectroscopy (BEES) at low temperature. For CoSi 2/Si contact annealed at 800℃,the spatial distribution of barrier heights, which have mean barrier height of 599meV and a standard deviation of 21meV,obeys the Gaussian Function. However, for a sample that is annealed at 700℃,the barrier heights of it are more inhomogenous. Its local barrier heights range from 152meV to 870meV,which implies the large inhomogeneity of the CoSi 2 film.

文摘The accurate control for the vehicle height and leveling adjustment system of an electronic air suspension(EAS) still is a challenging problem that has not been effectively solved in prior researches. This research proposes an effective control methodology for the vehicle height and leveling adjustment system of an EAS, which provides a favorable control performance for the system.

文摘An intelligent shearer height adjusting system is a key technology for mining at a man-less working face. Also, the D-FNN control scheme has good generalization and tracking performance, which allow it to satisfy the needs of a shearer height adjusting system.

文摘Background: The LiBackpack is a recently developed backpack light detection and ranging(LiDAR) system that combines the flexibility of human walking with the nearby measurement in all directions to provide a novel and efficient approach to LiDAR remote sensing, especially useful for forest structure inventory. Our study confirmed the reliability of the novel LiBackpack system in accurate forestry inventory, set up a useful transitional model between scanning data and the traditional manual-measured data specifically for P.sylvestris, and implied the applicable substitution of this new approach for more species, with necessary parameter calibration.

文摘Deep convection systems (DCSs) can rapidly lift water vapor and other pollutants from the lower troposphere to the upper troposphere and lower stratosphere. The main detrainment height and outflow horizontal range are lower and broader at nighttime than during daytime.

文摘According to the characteristic of global positioning system(GPS) reflection signals,a GPS delay mapping receiver system scheme is put forward, which not only satisfies the unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) guidance localization but also realizes height measurement.A code delay algorithm is put forward, which processes the direct and land reflected signal and outputs the navigation data and specular point. The GPS terrain reflected echo signal mathematical equation is inferred. The reflecting signal area, when the GPS signal passes the land,is analyzed. The height survey model reflected land surface characteristic is established.A simulation system which carries guidance localization of the UAV and the height measuring control through the GPS direct signal and the land reflected signal is designed, taken the GPS satellite as the illumination source, the receiver is put on the UAV.Then the UAV guidance signal, the GPS reflection signal and receiver's parallel processing are realized. The parallel processing reduces UAV's payload and raises system's operating efficiency. The simulation results confirms the validity of the model and also provides the basis for the UAV's optimization design.

文摘A direct numerical simulation(DNS) method is used to calculate the partitioned convection system with Ra number ranging from 10^7 to 2×10^9.Using the boundary layer thickness to normalize the height of gaps d, we find a strong consistency between the variation of the TD number(the average value of the temperature in each heat transfer channel is averaged after taking the absolute values) with the change of the height of gaps and the variation of the TD number with the change of Ra number in partitioned convection. For a given thickness of partition, heights of gaps are approximately equal to 0.5 or 1 time of the thermal boundary layer thickness λθ at different Ra numbers.TD number representing temperature characteristics is almost the constant value, which means that TD number is a function of d/λθ only.Analysis of local temperature field of area in gaps shows that the temperature distribution in the gaps are basically the same when d/λθ is certain. The heat transfer Nu number of the system at d/λθ≈ 0.5 is larger than that of d/λθ≈ 1, both of them have the same scaling law with Ra number and Nu^Ra^0.25.

文摘Vertical picking method is a predominate method used to harvest cotton crop. However,a vertical picking method may cause spindle bending of the cotton picker if spindles collide with stones on the cotton field. Thus, how to realize a precise height control of the cotton picker is a crucial issue to be solved. The objective of this study is to design a height control system to avoid the collision. To design it,the mathematical models are established first. Then a multi-objective optimization model represented by structure parameters and control parameters is proposed to take the pressure of chamber without piston, response time and displacement error of the height control system as the opti-mization objectives. An integrated optimization approach that combines optimization via simulation, particle swarm optimization and simulated annealing is proposed to solve the model.Simulation and experimental test results show that the proposed integrated optimization approach can not only reduce the pressure of chamber without piston, but also decrease the response time and displacement error of the height control system.

文摘Remote sensing products are significant in the data assimilation of an ocean model. It is verified that, the assimilation of the gridded SSH shows superiority in describing the eddy's characteristics, since the complete structure of the ocean surface has been reconstructed by the original data merging.

文摘To achieve the goal that China and Nepal jointly announce the new height of Mount Qomolangma(MQ),the campaign of Qomolangma Height Survey(QHS)was carried out from 2019 to 2020.A high precision geoid model realizing the common height datum for both sides is necessary for determining the unique height of MQ.However, high altitude and rugged topography make it extremely difficult to conduct terrestrial gravity measurements in this region, the accuracy of geoid model is restricted by terrestrial gravity data gaps.In the campaign of 2020 QHS,the airborne gravity survey was carried out over MQ and its surrounding areas, the airborne gravity data covering an area of 12,700 km^(2) were successfully collected. For the first time, the high precision observations of terrestrial gravity and BeiDou Navigation Satellite System(BDS)at the peak of MQ were collected. These datasets pave the way for the precise determination of the orthometric height of MQ.According to the definition of the International Height Reference System(IHRS),we developed the IHRS-based gravimetric quasigeoid model by combining the airborne and terrestrial gravity data.Validations against highly accurate GNSS leveling data at 61 benchmarks demonstrate that the accuracy of the quasigeoid model is 3.8 cm,and the addition of airborne gravity data improves the accuracy by 51.3%.Based on the IHRS,the final orthometric height of the snow surface of the peak of MQ is determined to be 8848.86 m.
文摘Deploying the small Unmanned Aerial System (sUAS) for data collection of high-resolution images is a big potential in determining crop physiological parameters. Nonetheless, the results showed that sUAS technology is highly suitable for many agricultural applications.

文摘The influence of the width of the middle magnet in the permanent magnet guideways (PMGs) on the levitation force and the levitation height of single-domain yttrium barium copper oxide (YBCO) bulks has been investigated at 77 K under the zero field cooled (ZFC) state. These results provide an effective way to control the levitation force and the levitation height for the superconducting maglev design and applications.
文摘The use of the Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) has attracted scientific attention because of its potential to generate high-throughput phenotyping data. The application of UAS to guar phenotyping remains limited. Guar is multi-purpose legume species. India and Pakistan are the world’s top guar producers. The U.S. is the world guar largest market with an import value of >$1 billion annually. The objective of this study was to test the feasibility of UAS phenotyping of plant height and canopy width in guar. The UAS data were collected from a field plot of 10 guar accessions on July 7, 2021, and September 27, 2021. The study was organized in a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with 3 blocks. A total of 23 Vegetation Indices (VIs) were computed. The analysis of variance showed significant genotypic effects on plant weight (p < 0.05) and canopy width (p on plant height (p most VIs were significant for both flights (p Vegetation Index (NDVI) and Red Edge Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDRE) were significantly and highly correlated with plant height (r = 0.74) and canopy width (r = 0.68). The results will be of interest in developing high throughput phenotyping approach for guar breeding.
