Concurrent pulmonary complications, such as pneumonia and pneumothorax, significantly contribute to increased morbidity in this population. Case Presentation: We report the case of a 28-year-old female who injects drugs, and presents with fever, bilateral hand edema, and respiratory symptoms. Clinical evaluation revealed erythema and edema of both hands, elevated inflammatory markers, and a left lower lobe infiltration that progressed to pneumothorax. A diagnosis of PHS and left lower lobe pneumonia complicated by pneumothorax was established. Management and Outcomes: The patient was treated with broad-spectrum antibiotics, including ceftriaxone, levofloxacin, dexamethasone, and oxygen supplementation, as well as antipyretics. She demonstrated partial clinical improvement and was referred to another hospital’s thoracic surgery department for specialized care. Conclusions: This case underscores the importance of early recognition and multidisciplinary management of rare but serious complications in IVDU patients. Further research is necessary to elucidate the interplay between lymphatic dysfunction and pulmonary pathophysiology in this demographic.展开更多

Method: The observational study was conducted at a public tertiary hospital in Zhejiang, China, from September 2018 to March 2021. A total of 58 HH observers were trained to conduct a direct observation on the HH behaviors of personnel in the hospital amongst the health care workers. We have observed over 9000 hand hygiene opportunities. The collected data were classified according to time factors, department parameters, and profession conduct of the observed. Hand hygiene (HH) compliance rates were calculated for each category, and a chi-square test was used to analyze differences of the HH compliance rates. Furthermore, binary logistic regression was used for multivariate analysis in each of the hand hygiene moments. Results: The HH compliance rates of HCWs were statistically different before and after the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, in the morning and the afternoon, this was observed per parameters stated into objectives on weekdays vs non weekdays. And we found that HH compliance rates drop off a cliff from weekdays to non-weekdays. Conclusions: COVID-19, departments, professions, and weekdays were all factors that influence HH compliance amongst HCWs. However, the influencing factors were not all present in every HH behavior, and had different intensities of influence on HH compliance amongst the HCWs. These findings provide some reference for us to propose improvement measures.展开更多

A multi-city random-effects metaanalysis was performed to study the relationship between temperature and HFMD transmission, and health equity was assessed with respect to socio-economic impact. Results Over the study period, 919,458 HFMD cases were reported, with Shanghai(162,303) having the highest incidence and Tongling(5,513) having the lowest. Males were more commonly affected(male-to-female ratio, 1.49:1). The exposure-response relationship had an M-shaped curve, with two HFMD peaks occurring at 4 ℃ and 26 ℃. The relative risk had two peaks at 1.30 ℃(1.834, 95% CI:1.204–2.794) and 31.4 ℃(1.143, 95% CI: 0.901–1.451), forming an M shape, with the first peak higher than the second. The most significant impact of temperature on HFMD was observed between –2 ℃ and18.1 ℃. The concentration index(0.2463) indicated moderate concentration differences, whereas the Theil index(0.0418) showed low inequality in distribution. Conclusion The incidence of HFMD varied across cities, particularly with changes in temperature.Economically prosperous areas showed higher risks, indicating disparities. Targeted interventions in these areas are crucial for mitigating the risk of HFMD.展开更多

The “Rubber Hand Illusion” (RHI) is one of the most popular experimental paradigms to investigate this phenomenon. During this illusion, ownership of a rubber hand is temporarily induced. It was shown that external and continuous cooling of the palm enhanced the RHI, suggesting an association between altered the autonomic nervous system regulation and altered the sense of ownership of a specific limb. Purpose: To investigate whether artificially cooling the entire hand for a short period affects the magnitude of the illusion. Methods: Participants immersed their entire hand in cool, cold, or warm water for 1 min before the RHI procedure. Results: We found that cooling the entire hand enhanced the proprioceptive drift during the RHI but not the subjective feeling of ownership. In contrast, warming and intense cooling of the entire hand did not affect the RHI strength. Conclusion: Our results suggest that transient and moderate cooling of the entire hand was sufficient in enhancing the illusory disembodiment of one’s own hand.展开更多

Purpose: To assess whether a group of people with hand osteoarthritis (hOA) who received different types of treatment improved their function after two years of follow-up. Method: The entire sample (n = 97) underwent three follow-up assessments regarding anthropometric parameters of the upper limbs and ability to perform functional activities. Subsequently, the sample was divided into two groups for the intervention periods, called the First Period (n = 73) and the Second Period (n = 24);the First Period kept the same protocol with orientations, and the Second Period went to an intervention with orientation strength exercises and use of orthosis. Findings: In the separate analysis of the three questions of the DASH pain module, no differences were found between the assessment moments for groups of guidelines, treatment, or symptoms. Significant effects were observed for F(2, 162) = 3.5, p = 0.033, η2 = 0.04, and interaction for moments and intervention F(2, 162) = 4.3, p = 0.016, η2 = 0.05. Implications: It can be concluded that only guidance treatment does not benefit patients with hand osteoarthritis. In contrast, guidance, exercise, and orthosis treatment can significantly improve the disease.展开更多

People are more concerned about theirsecurity due to traditional passwords becoming weaker or leaking in various attacks. In recent decades, fingerprintsand faces have been widely used for person identification, which has the risk of information leakage as a resultof reproducing fingers or faces by taking a snapshot. Recently, people have focused on creating an identifiablepattern, which will not be reproducible falsely by capturing psychological and behavioral information of a personusing vision and sensor-based techniques. In existing studies, most of the researchers used very complex patternsin this direction, which need special training and attention to remember the patterns and failed to capturethe psychological and behavioral information of a person properly. To overcome these problems, this researchdevised a novel dynamic hand gesture-based person identification system using a Leap Motion sensor. Thisstudy developed two hand gesture-based pattern datasets for performing the experiments, which contained morethan 500 samples, collected from 25 subjects. Various static and dynamic features were extracted from the handgeometry. Randomforest was used to measure feature importance using the Gini Index. Finally, the support vectormachinewas implemented for person identification and evaluate its performance using identification accuracy. Theexperimental results showed that the proposed system produced an identification accuracy of 99.8% for arbitraryhand gesture-based patterns and 99.6% for the same dynamic hand gesture-based patterns. This result indicatedthat the proposed system can be used for person identification in the field of security.展开更多

文摘Objective:While albumin and the weight-standardized hand grip strength(HGS/W)serve as valuable prognostic indicators for cancer patients, their correlation with the prognosis in frail cancer patients remains inadequately explored. This study aimed to investigate the prognostic importance of the albumin level and HGS/W in cancer patients with frailty and to further investigate their combined prognostic value. Moreover, this comprehensive evaluation aimed to facilitate timely intervention and treatment for frail patients. Methods:The research enrolled 5,794 cancer patients identified with frailty from a multicenter research database. The diagnosis of frailty was based on the FRAIL scale. An Albumin-HGS/W score was constructed by combining the albumin and HGS/W values.Cox proportional hazard regression was utilized to examine the association between the albumin level and HGS/W and patient outcomes. Results:Among these patients,2,543 were females and 3,251 were males, with a median age of 60.0 years.Optimal stratification based on patient survival revealed the ideal threshold for HGS/W to be 0.48 for males and 0.39 for females, and for albumin to be 38 for both sexes. The fully adjusted model revealed that higher Albumin-HGS/W scores were correlated with a poorer patient prognosis.Notably,an Albumin-HGS/W score of 2 was associated with a higher risk of mortality compared with a score of 0 in the total population(HR:1.813,95%CI:1.580-2.080,P<0.001).Conclusions:Low albumin or HGS/W values are associated with low survival in cancer patients with frailty.Elevated Albumin-HGS/W scores were linked to decreased survival rates in cancer patients with frailty.

文摘Objective To assess health equity in the Yangtze River region to improve understanding of the correlation between hand, foot, and mouth disease(HFMD) and socioeconomic factors. Methods From 2014–2016, data on HFMD incidence, population statistics, economic indicators, and meteorology from 26 cities along the Yangtze River were analyzed. Targeted interventions in these areas are crucial for mitigating the risk of HFMD.
文摘IntuiGrasp is a novel three-fingered dexterous hand that pioneers bio-inspired demonstrations with intuitive priors(BDIP)to bridge the gap between human tactile intuition and robotic execution.Unlike conven-tional programming,BDIP leverages human's innate priors(e.g.,“A pack of tissues requires gentle grasps, cups demand firm contact”)by enabling real-time transfer of gesture and force policies during physical demon-stration.When a human demonstrator wears IntuiGrasp, driven rings provide real-time haptic feedback on contact stress and slip, while inte-grated tactile sensors translate these human policies into image data, offering valuable data for imitation learning. In this study, human teachers use IntuiGrasp to demonstrate how to grasp three types of objects:a cup,a crumpled tissue pack, and a thin playing card.IntuiGrasp translates the policies for grasping these objects into image information that describes tactile sensations in real time.
文摘Background: Scar contractions caused by hand burns seriously impact both the function and appearance of the hand.Consequently,post-burn hand reconstruction is a primary focus of secondary reconstructive surgery performed within the first 10 years after a burn injury. This study aimed to identify developmental trends and research hotspots in post-burn hand reconstruction, providing insights and recommendations for researchers. Methods: Bibliometric and visualization analyses were conducted using Cite Space v6.4.R1(64-bit) and VOS viewer. The Web of Science Core Collection served as the data source.A total of 136 articles between 1997 and2025 were included based on the following keywords: “postburn hand reconstruction” or “postburn hand” or“scar contraction hand deformity.”Results: The field of post-burn hand reconstruction is advancing,as indicated by the overall and annual increase in publications. The United States leads in number of published papers. However, major institutions show low centrality, indicating weak collaboration between countries and regions, with research still dominated by singlecenter studies. The top three most prolific authors were Paul P M van Zuijlen,Fatih Uyghur, and Ersin Uyghur. The keywords “double Z-plasty” and the cluster “flap” not only have high emergence intensity but also appear frequently in recent studies, marking them as current research hotspots. Conclusion: The lack of long-term research and consensus limits further advancements in post-burn hand reconstruction. To address this,multi-center and multi-disciplinary collaborations should be encouraged.Additionally, integrating basic medical research with biomedical engineering could enhance the management and outcomes of post-burn hand reconstruction.

文摘Background: The neural representation of the body is easily altered by integrating multiple sensory signals in the brain. Conclusion: Our results suggest that transient and moderate cooling of the entire hand was sufficient in enhancing the illusory disembodiment of one’s own hand.
文摘Background: Osteoarthritis (OA) is a disabling disease that can affect 6% to 12% of the adult population and more than a third of people over 65 years of age. In contrast, guidance, exercise, and orthosis treatment can significantly improve the disease.

文摘In space operation, flexible manipulators and gripper mechanisms have been widely used because of light weight and flexibility. However, the vibration caused by slender structures in manipulators and the parameter perturbation caused by the uncertainty derived from grasping mass variation cannot be ignored. The existence of vibration and parameter perturbation makes the rotation control of flexible manipulators difficult, which seriously affects the operation accuracy of manipulators. What’s more, the complex dynamic coupling brings great challenges to the dynamics modeling and vibration analysis. To solve this problem, this paper takes the space flexible manipulator with an underactuated hand(SFMUH)as the research object. The dynamics model considering flexibility, multiple nonlinear elements and disturbance torque is established by the assumed modal method(AMM)and Hamilton’s principle.A dynamic modeling simplification method is proposed by analyzing the nonlinear terms. What’s more,a sliding mode control(SMC)method combined with the radial basis function(RBF)neural network compensation is proposed.Besides, the control law is designed using a saturation function in the control method to weaken the chatter phenomenon. With the help of neural networks to identify the uncertainty composition in the SFMUH,the tracking accuracy is improved. The results of ground control experiments verify the advantages of the control method for vibration suppression of the SFMUH.

文摘This paper introduces a self-sensing anthropomorphic robot hand driven by Twisted String Actuators(TSAs).The use of TSAs provides several advantages such as muscle-like structures, high transmission ratios, large output forces, high efficiency, compactness, inherent compliance, and the ability to transmit power over distances. However, conventional sensors used in TSA-actuated robotic hands increase stiffness, mass, volume, and complexity, making feedback control challenging. To address this issue,a novel self-sensing approach is proposed using strain-sensing string based on Conductive Polymer Composite(CPC).By measuring the resistance changes in the strain-sensing string, the bending angle of the robot hand's fingers can be estimated, enabling closed-loop control without external sensors. The developed self-sensing anthropomorphic robot hand comprises a 3D-printed structure with five fingers,a palm, five self-sensing TSAs,and a 3D-printed forearm.Experimental studies validate the self-sensing properties of the TSA and the anthropomorphic robot hand.Additionally,a real-time Virtual Reality(VR)monitoring system is implemented for visualizing and monitoring the robot hand's movements using its self-sensing capabilities. This research contributes valuable insights and advancements to the field of intelligent prosthetics and robotic end grippers.

文摘Person identification is one of the most vital tasks for network security. This result indicatedthat the proposed system can be used for person identification in the field of security.
文摘BACKGROUND Increasing data indicated that long noncoding RNAs(lncRNAs)were directly or indirectly involved in the occurrence and development of tumors, including hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Recent studies had found that the expression of lncRNA HAND2-AS1 was downregulated in HCC tissues, but its role in HCC progression is unclear.Ultrasound targeted microbubble destruction mediated gene transfection is a new method to overexpress genes.AIM To study the role of ultrasound microbubbles(UTMBs)mediated HAND2-AS1 in the progression of HCC,in order to provide a new reference for the treatment of HCC.METHODS In vitro,we transfected HAND2-AS1 siRNA into HepG2 cells by UTMBs,and detected cell proliferation, apoptosis, invasion and epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT)by cell counting kit-8 assay, flow cytometry,Transwell invasion assay and Western blotting, respectively. In addition,we transfected miR-837-5p mimic into UTMBs treated cells and observed the changes of cell behavior.Next, the UTMBs treated HepG2 cells were transfected together with miR-837-5p mimic and tissue inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinase-2(TIMP2)overexpression vector, and we detected cell proliferation, apoptosis, invasion and EMT.In vivo,we established a mouse model of subcutaneous transplantation of HepG2 cells and observed the effect of HAND2-AS1 silencing on tumor formation ability.RESULTS We found that UTMBs carrying HAND2-AS1 restricted cell proliferation, invasion, and EMT,encouraged apoptosis, and HAND2-AS1 silencing eliminated the effect of UTMBs.Additionally,miR-873-5p targets the gene HAND2-AS1,which also targets the 3’UTR of TIMP2.And miR-873-5p mimic counteracted the impact of HAND2-AS1.Further,miR-873-5p mimic solely or in combination with pcDNA-TIMP2 had been transformed into HepG2 cells exposed to UTMBs.We discovered that TIMP2 reversed the effect of miR-873-5p mimic caused by the blocked signalling cascade for matrix metalloproteinase(MMP)2/MMP9.In vivo results showed that HAND2-AS1 silencing significantly inhibited tumor formation in mice.CONCLUSION LncRNA HAND2-AS1 promotes TIMP2 expression by targeting miR-873-5p to inhibit HepG2 cell growth and delay HCC progression.

文摘Bionic hands are promising devices for assisting individuals with hand disabilities in rehabilitation robotics.Controlled primarily by bioelectrical signals such as myoelectricity and EEG,these hands can compensate for lost hand functions. However, developing model-based controllers for bionic hands is challenging and time-consuming due to varying control parameters and unknown application environments. To address these challenges,we propose a model-free approach using reinforcement learning(RL)for designing bionic hand controllers. Our method involves mimicking real human hand motion with the bionic hand and employing a human hand motion decomposition technique to learn complex motions from simpler ones. This approach significantly reduces the training time required.By utilizing real human hand motion data,we design a multidimensional sampling proximal policy optimization(PPO)algorithm that enables efficient motion control of the bionic hand.To validate the effectiveness of our approach,we compare it against advanced baseline methods. The results demonstrate the quick learning capabilities and high control success rate of our method.
