Roll motion of ships can be distinguished in two parts:an unavoidable part due to their natural movement while turning and an unwanted and avoidable part that is due to encounter with waves and rough seas in general.F...Roll motion of ships can be distinguished in two parts:an unavoidable part due to their natural movement while turning and an unwanted and avoidable part that is due to encounter with waves and rough seas in general.For the attenuation of the unwanted part of roll motion,ways have been developed such as addition of controllable fins and changes in shape.This paper investigates the effectiveness of augmenting the rudder used for rejecting part of the unwanted roll,while maintaining steering and course changing ability.For this purpose,a controller is designed,which acts through intentional superposition of fast,compared with course change,movements of rudder,in order to attenuate the high-frequency roll effects from encountering rough seas.The results obtained by simulation to exogenous disturbance support the conclusion that the roll stabilization for displacement can be effective at least when displacement hull vessels are considered.Moreover,robust stability and performance is verified for the proposed control scheme over the entire operating range of interest.展开更多
H_(2) is considered an indispensable component of the atmosphere for the growth of high-quality singlewall carbon nanotubes(SWCNTs)by chemical vapor deposition.However,details of the roles H_(2) playing are still uncl...H_(2) is considered an indispensable component of the atmosphere for the growth of high-quality singlewall carbon nanotubes(SWCNTs)by chemical vapor deposition.However,details of the roles H_(2) playing are still unclear due to the complex conditions of SWCNT growth.In this study,we elucidate the functions of H_(2) in the selective growth of semiconducting SWCNTs(s-SWCNTs)by using monodispersed uniform Fe nanoparticles as a catalyst.High-quality s-SWCNTs were synthesized by finely tuning the concentration of H_(2) and the other growth parameters.Experimental data combined with atomistic simulations indicate that H_(2) not only adjusts the concentration of the carbon source,but also serves as a mild etchant that selectively removes small carbon caps grown by a perpendicular mode from the Fe nanoparticles.These results provide useful hints for the controlled growth of SWCNTs with a semiconducting or metallic conductivity,and even a specific chirality.展开更多

The neural network was introduced to adaptively estimate nonlinear uncertainties, improving the system’s performance under parameter uncertainties as well as obtaining the H2/H∞tracking performance. As the greenhouse effect concerns increases,the development of new materials for the efficient capture and separation of CO_(2)gas from gas mixtures has become a matter of urgency.In this study,we performed density fu...As the greenhouse effect concerns increases,the development of new materials for the efficient capture and separation of CO_(2)gas from gas mixtures has become a matter of urgency.In this study,we performed density functional theory(DFT)calculations to investigate the adsorption and separation behavior of CO_(2)/CH_(4)/H_(2)on the surface of two-dimensional(2D)Al_(2)C materials under positive/negative applied electric fields.In the absence of an electric field CO_(2)is weakly physisorbed on the Al_(2)C surface,but with the application of an applied electric field,the adsorption state of CO_(2)gradually changes from physical to chemisorption(adsorption energy changes from-0.29 e V to-3.61 e V),while the negative electric field has little effect on the adsorption of CO_(2).We conclude that the C=O bond in adsorbed CO_(2)can be activated under an external electric field(maximum activation of 15%under an external electric field of 0-0.005 a.u.).Only in the presence of an applied electric field of 0.0033 a.u.and temperatures above525 K/675 K can the adsorption/separation reaction of CO_(2)single adsorption and CO_(2)/CH_(4)/H_(2)mixture be spontaneous.The adsorption/desorption of CO_(2)on Al_(2)C nanosheet in an electric field of 0.003-0.0033 a.u.is all exothermic,which can be easily controlled by switching on/off the electric field without any energy barriers.The capacity of Al_(2)C to capture CO_(2)per unit electric field decreases with increasing CO_(2)concentration,but still has efficient gas separation properties for CO_(2)/CH_(4)/H_(2).Our theoretical results could provide guidance for designing high-capacity and high-selectivity CO_(2)capture materials.展开更多
The two-dimensional(2-D)system has a wide range of applications in different fields,including satellite meteorological maps,process control,and digital filtering.Therefore,the research on the stability of 2-D systems ...The two-dimensional(2-D)system has a wide range of applications in different fields,including satellite meteorological maps,process control,and digital filtering.Therefore,the research on the stability of 2-D systems is of great significance.Considering that multiple systems exist in switching and alternating work in the actual production process,but the system itself often has external perturbation and interference.To solve the above problems,this paper investigates the output feedback robust H_(∞)stabilization for a class of discrete-time 2-D switched systems,which the Roesser model with uncertainties represents.First,sufficient conditions for exponential stability are derived via the average dwell time method,when the system’s interference and external input are zero.Furthermore,in the case of introducing the external interference,the weighted robust H_(∞)disturbance attenuation performance of the underlying system is further analyzed.An output feedback controller is then proposed to guarantee that the resulting closed-loop system is exponentially stable and has a prescribed disturbance attenuation levelγ.All theorems mentioned in the article will also be given in the form of linear matrix inequalities(LMI).Finally,a numerical example is given,which takes two uncertain values respectively and solves the output feedback controller’s parameters by the theorem proposed in the paper.According to the required controller parameter values,the validity of the theorem proposed in the article is compared and verified by simulation.展开更多
