To tackle the problem of inaccurate short-term bus load prediction,especially during holidays,a Transformer-based scheme with tailored architectural enhancements is proposed.First,the input data are clustered to reduc...To tackle the problem of inaccurate short-term bus load prediction,especially during holidays,a Transformer-based scheme with tailored architectural enhancements is proposed.First,the input data are clustered to reduce complexity and capture inherent characteristics more effectively.Gated residual connections are then employed to selectively propagate salient features across layers,while an attention mechanism focuses on identifying prominent patterns in multivariate time-series data.Ultimately,a pre-trained structure is incorporated to reduce computational complexity.Experimental results based on extensive data show that the proposed scheme achieves improved prediction accuracy over comparative algorithms by at least 32.00%consistently across all buses evaluated,and the fitting effect of holiday load curves is outstanding.Meanwhile,the pre-trained structure drastically reduces the training time of the proposed algorithm by more than 65.75%.The proposed scheme can efficiently predict bus load results while enhancing robustness for holiday predictions,making it better adapted to real-world prediction scenarios.展开更多

This study employs a fixed-effects model to investigate the holiday effect in the cryptocurrency market,using trading data for the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization on Coinmarketcap.com from January 1,...This study employs a fixed-effects model to investigate the holiday effect in the cryptocurrency market,using trading data for the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization on Coinmarketcap.com from January 1,2017 to July 1,2022.The results indicate that returns on cryptocurrencies increase significantly during Chinese holiday periods.Additionally,we use textual analysis to construct an investor sentiment indicator and find that positive investor sentiment boosts cryptocurrency market returns.However,when positive investor sentiment prevails in the cryptocurrency market,the holiday effect weakens,implying that positive investor sentiment attenuates the holiday effect.Robustness tests based on the Bitcoin market generate consistent results.Moreover,this study explores the mechanisms underlying the cryptocurrency holiday effect and examines the impact of epidemic transmission risk and heterogeneity characteristics on this phenomenon.These findings offer novel insights into the impact of Chinese statutory holidays on the cryptocurrency market and illuminate the role of investor sentiment in this market.展开更多

However, how modem mass human migration during the CNY holiday affects...Many Chinese people leave big cities for family reunions during the Chinese New Year （CNY）, which is the most important public holiday in China. However, how modem mass human migration during the CNY holiday affects the urban heat island （UHI） is still un- known. Here, the authors investigate the role of modem human migration for the UHI effects during the CNY holiday for the period of 1992-2006 in Harbin City, Northeast China. The results show that during the CNY week, the UHI effects expressed as daily mean, maxi- mum, and minimum temperature differences between urban and rural stations averaged over the period of 1992-2006 are 0.65℃ （43%）, 0.31℃ （48%）, and 1.14℃ （71%） lower than during the background period （four weeks before and four weeks after the CNY week）, re- spectively. Our findings identify previously unknown impacts of modem mass human migration on the UHI effects based on a case study in Harbin City.展开更多

This study sought to investigate t...Background Data regarding the influence of weekends and Chinese national holiday＇s admission on the outcomes of patients with ST-elevated myocardial infarction （STEMI） is lacking. This study sought to investigate the effect of Chinese national holidays and weekend admission on outcomes in patients with STEMI undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention （PPCI）. Methods Patients pre- senting with STEMI within 12 h of symptom onset who underwent PPCI were retrospectively enrolled. The primary outcome of in-hospital mortality and major adverse cardiovascular events in patients presenting Chinese national holiday＇s and weekends versus weekdays was evaluated. Results A total of 441 STEMI patients were enrolled in this study. Of these, 129 （29.3%） patients were admitted during Chinese national holidays and weekends and 312 （70.7%） during weekdays. Patients admitted during holidays and weekends were more likely to present with Killip class Ⅲ-Ⅳ. Patients admitted during holidays and weekends experienced a significantly longer door-to-baUoon time, symptom onset-to-door time as well as symptom onset-to-balloon time. The in-hospital mortality between patients presenting holidays and weekends versus weekdays was comparable. However, patients admitted during holidays and weekends have a signitieantly higher rate of in-hospital major adverse cardiovascular events. Multivariate analysis demonstrated that holidays and weekends admission was independ- ently associated with adverse outcomes. Conclusions In China, STEMI patients undergoing PPCI during national holidays and weekends have worse in-hospital outcomes compared to those admitted during weekdays. These findings suggest that continuous efforts should be undertaken to enhance the Chinese healthcare system and to ensure that comparable outcomes are achieved for all STEMI patients regardless of time of presentation.展开更多

The area ratio of bulk coating holiday to total coating area of steel is 4.91%. The experimental results showed that at free corrosion potential, the corrosion of carbon steel with disbonded coating holiday is heavier than that with broken holiday and disbonded ＆ broken holiday with time; Moreover, the effectiveness of Cathodic Protection （CP） of carbon steel with broken holiday is better than that with disbonded holiday and disbonded ＆ broken holiday on CP potential -850 mV （vs CSE）. Further analysis indicated that the two main reasons for corrosion are electrolyte solution slowly penetrating the coating, and crevice corrosion at steel/coating interface near holidays. The ratio of impedance amplitude （Z） of different frequency to minimum frequency is defined as K value. The change rate of K with frequency is related to the type of coating holiday.展开更多

Northern China's"Capital Holiday Tourism Circle"is one of nine key areas within the Chinese tourism industry under development during the Eleventh Five-Year Plan.In the present article the method of"Distance Decline of The Tourist Flow"was used to define the flow of tourists in the Capital Holiday Tourism Circle and its influence upon Chengde's tourism spatial distribution.3 aspects will be discussed:(1)The transformation from sightseeing to leisure markets makes the change possible in Chengde's tourism spatial pattern.(2)The location advantage(adjacent to Beijing and Tianjin) also leads to the change in Chengde tourism spatial pattern.(3)The establishment of freeways also contributes to a great degrees of change. Taking the current total value of China’s import and export as an example, we expound</span><span style="font-family:""> </span><span style="font-family:Verdana;">a new method for seasonal adjustment of mobile holidays such as Spring Festival, Dragon Boat Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival. Finally, the model is used to predict the total value of China’s import and export in and out of the sample. The prediction results show that the relative error of the out of sample data is less than 5%. The new method has advantages in the processing of macroeconomic data.展开更多
