In the process of writing, the writer, in order to deepen the meaning, will often use a variety of writing techniques and different forms of language features which is the treasure of the English Language, and the crystallization of the wisdom of English nations. So in this paper, the author will introduce in detail The Gulag Archipelago full of all kinds of language characteristics. These language features can be mainly divided into narrative language, dialogue-typed language, descriptive language and argumentative language. The in-depth discussion is based on these four points. This paper is divided into three parts. The first part discusses the author's life, and the formation process of the work to clarify the origin of the writer's thoughts. The second part focuses on language features from the angle of narrative language,dialogue-typed language, descriptive language, and argumentative language illustrated by numerous examples and several kinds of style so as to help us to understand more easily the profound meaning fully conveyed in the novel.
