METHODS: Gradations accurate to 1 mm were assessed with the wire of disposable graduated biopsy forceps. When a polyp was noted, endoscopists determined the width of the polyp; then, the graduated biopsy forceps was inserted and the largest diameter of the tumor was measured. After excision, during surgery or endoscopy, the polyp was measured using the vernier caliper.RESULTS: One hundred and thirty-three colorectal polyps from 119 patients were studied. The mean diameter, by post-polypectomy measurement, was 0.92 ± 0.69 cm; 83 were < 1 cm, 36 were between 1 and 2 cm, and 14 were > 2 cm. The mean diameter, by visual estimation, was 1.15 ± 0.88 cm; compared to the actual size measured using vernier calipers, the difference was statistically significant. The mean diameter measured using the DGBF was 0.93 ± 0.68 cm; compared to the actual size measured using vernier calipers, this difference was not statistically significant. The ratio between the mean size estimated by visual estimation and the actual size was significantly different from that between the mean size estimated using the DGBF and the actual size(1.26 ± 0.30 vs 1.02 ± 0.11).CONCLUSION: The accuracy of polyp size estimation was low by visual assessment; however, it improved when the DGBF was used.展开更多
Objectives:Newly graduated nurses commence night shifts during a phase of heightened vulnerability to reality shock,exacerbating the challenges faced by these graduates.Therefore,this study aimed to identify the chall...Objectives:Newly graduated nurses commence night shifts during a phase of heightened vulnerability to reality shock,exacerbating the challenges faced by these graduates.Therefore,this study aimed to identify the challenges experienced by newly graduated nurses when undertaking night shifts in order to help identify a strategy for supporting their adaptation to these shifts.Methods:Semi-structured personal interviews were used to collect data.Fifteen newly graduated nurses were selected to participate in the study by purposive sampling method from November 2021 to March 2022 in one of four general hospitals situated in the southwestern region of Japan.Semi-structured interviews were analyzed by using thematic analysis.Results:The analysis revealedfive central themes and nine subthemes:challenges in task efficiency(task organization challenges,challenges in time-constrained task performance),challenges in responding to patients’changing conditions(challenges in responding to patients’irregular conditions,challenges in responding to nighttime changes in patients’behaviors),challenges in independent practice(challenges in engaging in independent nursing practice,challenges in dealing with unexpected events),challenges in establishing collaborative relationships(challenges in working closely with other staff,challenges in establishing collaborative relationships during night shifts with limited resources),challenges in adapting to shift work(challenges in managing physical conditions for shift work).Conclusions:Newly graduated nurses often encounter challenges in performing their tasks during the transition period.When working night shifts,they face additional hurdles unique to nocturnal duties.Thefindings underscore the necessity for these graduates to develop night shift-specific readiness to effectively navigate the demands inherent in such work schedules.展开更多

The aim was to evaluate the transversal competences developed by graduates, specialists in nursing with the accompaniment of clinic tutorship. Methods: Qualitative, phenomenological, and interpretative research. The informants were seven graduates from the Unique Program of Nursing Specialties (UPNS), from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), one participant from each knowledge field: Nursing in the Elderly, Public Health, Neurology, Physical and Sports Culture, Oncology, and two participants from Adult in Critical Condition. Information collection was through a focal group, and data analysis according to the principles of Souza Minayo. Signed informed consent was obtained previously. Results: Five categories with 24 sub-categories emerged. Category 1, Student’s perception on clinic tutorship specialty. Category 2, Competences promoted by clinic tutorship according to student’s experience. Category 3, Experiences about clinic tutorship planning. Category 4, Challenges faced by the student in the evaluation of clinic tutorship. Category 5, Opportunity fields in clinic tutorship from students’ experiences. Conclusion: Graduate students from the specialties describe transversal competences related with decision taking, collaborative work, and increase of population welfare, as well as generic disciplinary competences. The analogy of a social hinge between the clinic tutor and the student is highlighted, which allows to identify mobile and fixed components while the bolt that binds mentor with mentee is learning, by means of the accompaniment by an expert. .展开更多

Objectives:To assess job satisfaction among anesthesia graduates working in various medical institutions across China.Methods:A cross-sectional survey was conducted,collecting demographic information,Minnesota Satisfa...Objectives:To assess job satisfaction among anesthesia graduates working in various medical institutions across China.Methods:A cross-sectional survey was conducted,collecting demographic information,Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire scores,work pressure,and turnover intentions.Multiple linear regression analysis was used to examine factors influencing job satisfaction.The electronic survey was distributed to Chinese anesthesia graduates from December 2021 to January 2022.Results:A total of 595 questionnaires were distributed,with 318 valid responses,resulting in a response rate of 53.4%.The participants’overall job satisfaction score on the Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire was 75.85±12.57.Multiple linear regression analysis identified the following variables as significantly associated with job satisfaction:age,daily working hours,income,current position,and work pressure.Conclusions:Anesthesia graduates in China reported slightly higher-than-average overall job satisfaction.However,several issues remain.Attention should be given to the impact of factors such as youth,long working hours,low income,current position,and high work pressure on job satisfaction.The government should support anesthesiologists with improved training,job security,and benefits to enhance job satisfaction.展开更多
With the intensification of climate change and ecological environmental degradation,the role of postgraduate landscape design disciplines in achieving sustainable development goals has become increasingly prominent.Na...With the intensification of climate change and ecological environmental degradation,the role of postgraduate landscape design disciplines in achieving sustainable development goals has become increasingly prominent.Nature-based Solutions(NbS),as an emerging concept,emphasize addressing social and environmental challenges through natural processes,offering a new direction for landscape design education.This study explored the reform of and reflections on landscape design courses for postgraduates guided by Nature-based Solutions.In response to the issues of disconnection between theory and practice and insufficient interdisciplinary integration in current graduate education in landscape design,this paper proposed a curriculum reform pathway oriented towards nature-based solutions.A new model for cultivating postgraduates in landscape design was explored by reconstructing the curriculum system,innovating teaching methods,and improving evaluation mechanisms.Moreover,drawing on the practical case of graduate teaching at Zhongyuan University of Technology,specific implementation strategies and outcomes of the curriculum reform were analyzed.This paper also reflected on the challenges encountered during the reform process and proposed corresponding optimization suggestions,aiming to provide a reference for the innovative development of graduate education in landscape design in China.展开更多

Against the backdrop of employment pressure,pursuing graduate studies has become a crucial pathway for undergraduate students to enhance employment competitiveness and alleviate employment challenges.However,the recen...Against the backdrop of employment pressure,pursuing graduate studies has become a crucial pathway for undergraduate students to enhance employment competitiveness and alleviate employment challenges.However,the recent downward trend in graduate school applicants has rendered the improvement of undergraduates’willingness to pursue advanced degrees an urgent practical issue.This study employs a questionnaire survey method to empirically investigate the influencing factors of undergraduates’intention to pursue graduate studies.The findings reveal that at the individual level,preparation difficulty,preparation pressure,clarity of goals,and academic planning significantly affect students’willingness to pursue graduate studies.At the family level,preparation costs and family atmosphere exert substantial influence on this decision-making process.Accordingly,this paper proposes enhancement strategies from both individual and family perspectives to improve enrollment rates.Students should establish clear academic objectives and strengthen psychological adjustment,while families ought to provide robust financial support and foster harmonious environments.These recommendations aim to effectively boost undergraduates’motivation for graduate education.展开更多
Practical jurisprudence is a completely new proposition in legal education and research.The introduction of the concept of“practical jurisprudence”in the teaching of the Civil Procedure Law of the People’s Republic...Practical jurisprudence is a completely new proposition in legal education and research.The introduction of the concept of“practical jurisprudence”in the teaching of the Civil Procedure Law of the People’s Republic of China(the“Civil Procedure Law”)is a major innovation in terms of values and methodology.Practical jurisprudence focuses more on practical issues,Chinese characteristics,and major needs,while strengthening the practical nature of the Civil Procedure Law.China’s traditional education system for juris masters(for non-law graduates)(“non-law JMs”)emphasizes the development of foundational legal theoretical knowledge.However,it has not fully achieved its goal of cultivating interdisciplinary and practical legal professionals.Therefore,the traditional education system for the Civil Procedure Law needs reconstruction and supplementation through the practical jurisprudence teaching system in the following areas:(a)System composition:The focus should be on the eight tertiary subsystems under the two secondary subsystems—“the knowledge teaching system and the practical teaching system”of practical jurisprudence in the Civil Procedure Law,as well as the management of their interrelationships.(b)Credit structure:The proportion of credits for“practical teaching and training”should be increased.(c)Practical ability requirements:Legal professionals should be cultivated according to the standards for juris masters(for law graduates)as stipulated by the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Academic Degrees.(d)Practice evaluation:“Formalization of the evaluations,”“homogeneity of the evaluators,”and“reliance on written formats”should be avoided.展开更多

文摘Addressing the core weaknesses in the innovation and entrepreneurship capabilities of vocational college graduates,such as market insight and risk tolerance,as well as issues with the existing training model,including courses that are disconnected from industry,a lack of systematic practical training,and superficial school-enterprise cooperation,this paper constructs a“three-dimensional,four-dimensional”training system.The“three-dimensional”foundational framework encompasses three pillars:curriculum,general education layer,professional integration layer,practical application layer,practice as in three stages:introductory,simulated,and practical,and support including dual mentors,policies,and platforms.The“four-dimensional”differentiated strategies include four implementation pathways:professional differentiation,stage differentiation,addressing capability shortcomings,and school-government-industry collaboration.This system is grounded in theories such as multiple intelligences theory and systems theory,forming a closed-loop process of“theoretical input—practical application—support mechanisms”.Based on the practices of Guangdong Vocational Institute of Public Administration,the paper proposes a competency development pathway tailored by major and stage,which can effectively enhance the innovative and entrepreneurial core competencies of vocational college graduates.This provides a replicable systematic solution for vocational college innovative and entrepreneurial education,supporting vocational education reform and regional economic development.

文摘Against the backdrop of employment pressure,pursuing graduate studies has become a crucial pathway for undergraduate students to enhance employment competitiveness and alleviate employment challenges.However,the recent downward trend in graduate school applicants has rendered the improvement of undergraduates’willingness to pursue advanced degrees an urgent practical issue.This study employs a questionnaire survey method to empirically investigate the influencing factors of undergraduates’intention to pursue graduate studies.The findings reveal that at the individual level,preparation difficulty,preparation pressure,clarity of goals,and academic planning significantly affect students’willingness to pursue graduate studies.At the family level,preparation costs and family atmosphere exert substantial influence on this decision-making process.Accordingly,this paper proposes enhancement strategies from both individual and family perspectives to improve enrollment rates.Students should establish clear academic objectives and strengthen psychological adjustment,while families ought to provide robust financial support and foster harmonious environments.These recommendations aim to effectively boost undergraduates’motivation for graduate education.
文摘Practical jurisprudence is a completely new proposition in legal education and research.The introduction of the concept of“practical jurisprudence”in the teaching of the Civil Procedure Law of the People’s Republic of China(the“Civil Procedure Law”)is a major innovation in terms of values and methodology.Practical jurisprudence focuses more on practical issues,Chinese characteristics,and major needs,while strengthening the practical nature of the Civil Procedure Law.China’s traditional education system for juris masters(for non-law graduates)(“non-law JMs”)emphasizes the development of foundational legal theoretical knowledge.However,it has not fully achieved its goal of cultivating interdisciplinary and practical legal professionals.Therefore,the traditional education system for the Civil Procedure Law needs reconstruction and supplementation through the practical jurisprudence teaching system in the following areas:(a)System composition:The focus should be on the eight tertiary subsystems under the two secondary subsystems—“the knowledge teaching system and the practical teaching system”of practical jurisprudence in the Civil Procedure Law,as well as the management of their interrelationships.(b)Credit structure:The proportion of credits for“practical teaching and training”should be increased.(c)Practical ability requirements:Legal professionals should be cultivated according to the standards for juris masters(for law graduates)as stipulated by the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Academic Degrees.(d)Practice evaluation:“Formalization of the evaluations,”“homogeneity of the evaluators,”and“reliance on written formats”should be avoided.
文摘On the basis of research evaluation of Chinese universities,Golden Apple Ranking(GAR)was initiated by Research Center of Chinese Science Evaluation(RCCSE)at Wuhan University in 2003.The GAR consists of four major rankings:Chinese University Ranking,Chinese Graduate School Ranking,World University Ranking and Scholarly Journal Ranking.The annual reports of all these four rankings are published bythe Science Press,which have been recognized by the academia and China's government.
文摘案例为基础的教学(case based learning,CBL)是一种以病例为核心,以问题为基础、以学生为主体、以教师为主导的讨论式教学方法,不仅具有PBL(problem based learning)的优点,又符合临床医学教育的特点。CBL教学方法在培养专业硕士及住院医师的临床诊疗思维,继而转化为临床科研思维上具有重要作用,对于培养住院医师开展临床研究具有重要意义。目前,CBL教学法已成为医学教育教学的最实用、高效的方法之一。作者结合自身临床实践和带教的经历,浅谈CBL教学法在耳鼻咽喉头颈外科住院医师培训中的应用。
