Peripheral nerve injuries result in the rapid degeneration of distal nerve segments and immediate loss of motor and sensory functions;behavioral recovery is typically poor.We used a plasmalemmal fusogen,polyethylene glycol(PEG),to immediately fuse closely apposed open ends of severed proximal and distal axons in rat sciatic nerves.We have previously reported that sciatic nerve axons repaired by PEG-fusion do not undergo Wallerian degeneration,and PEG-fused animals exhibit rapid(within 2–6 weeks)and extensive locomotor recovery.Furthermore,our previous report showed that PEG-fusion of severed sciatic motor axons was non-specific,i.e.,spinal motoneurons in PEG-fused animals were found to project to appropriate as well as inappropriate target muscles.In this study,we examined the consequences of PEG-fusion for sensory axons of the sciatic nerve.Young adult male and female rats(Sprague–Dawley)received either a unilateral single cut or ablation injury to the sciatic nerve and subsequent repair with or without(Negative Control)the application of PEG.Compound action potentials recorded immediately after PEG-fusion repair confirmed conduction across the injury site.The success of PEG-fusion was confirmed through Sciatic Functional Index testing with PEG-fused animals showing improvement in locomotor function beginning at 35 days postoperatively.At 2–42 days postoperatively,we anterogradely labeled sensory afferents from the dorsal aspect of the hindpaw following bilateral intradermal injection of wheat germ agglutinin conjugated horseradish peroxidase.PEG-fusion repair reestablished axonal continuity.Compared to unoperated animals,labeled sensory afferents ipsilateral to the injury in PEG-fused animals were found in the appropriate area of the dorsal horn,as well as inappropriate mediolateral and rostrocaudal areas.Unexpectedly,despite having intact peripheral nerves,similar reorganizations of labeled sensory afferents were also observed contralateral to the injury and repair.This central reorganization may contribute to the improved behavioral recovery seen after PEG-fusion repair,supporting the use of this novel repair methodology over currently available treatments. 展开更多

Behavioral recovery using(viable)peripheral nerve allografts to repair ablation-type(segmental-loss)peripheral nerve injuries is delayed or poor due to slow and inaccurate axonal regeneration.Furthermore,such peripheral nerve allografts undergo immunological rejection by the host immune system.In contrast,peripheral nerve injuries repaired by polyethylene glycol fusion of peripheral nerve allografts exhibit excellent behavioral recovery within weeks,reduced immune responses,and many axons do not undergo Wallerian degeneration.The relative contribution of neurorrhaphy and polyethylene glycol-fusion of axons versus the effects of polyethylene glycol per se was unknown prior to this study.We hypothesized that polyethylene glycol might have some immune-protective effects,but polyethylene glycol-fusion was necessary to prevent Wallerian degeneration and functional/behavioral recovery.We examined how polyethylene glycol solutions per se affect functional and behavioral recovery and peripheral nerve allograft morphological and immunological responses in the absence of polyethylene glycol-induced axonal fusion.Ablation-type sciatic nerve injuries in outbred Sprague–Dawley rats were repaired according to a modified protocol using the same solutions as polyethylene glycol-fused peripheral nerve allografts,but peripheral nerve allografts were loose-sutured(loose-sutured polyethylene glycol)with an intentional gap of 1–2 mm to prevent fusion by polyethylene glycol of peripheral nerve allograft axons with host axons.Similar to negative control peripheral nerve allografts not treated by polyethylene glycol and in contrast to polyethylene glycol-fused peripheral nerve allografts,animals with loose-sutured polyethylene glycol peripheral nerve allografts exhibited Wallerian degeneration for all axons and myelin degeneration by 7 days postoperatively and did not recover sciatic-mediated behavioral functions by 42 days postoperatively.Other morphological signs of rejection,such as collapsed Schwann cell basal lamina tubes,were absent in polyethylene glycol-fused peripheral nerve allografts but commonly observed in negative control and loose-sutured polyethylene glycol peripheral nerve allografts at 21 days postoperatively.Loose-sutured polyethylene glycol peripheral nerve allografts had more pro-inflammatory and less anti-inflammatory macrophages than negative control peripheral nerve allografts.While T cell counts were similarly high in loose-sutured-polyethylene glycol and negative control peripheral nerve allografts,loose-sutured polyethylene glycol peripheral nerve allografts expressed some cytokines/chemokines important for T cell activation at much lower levels at 14 days postoperatively.MHCI expression was elevated in loose-sutured polyethylene glycol peripheral nerve allografts,but MHCII expression was modestly lower compared to negative control at 21 days postoperatively.We conclude that,while polyethylene glycol per se reduces some immune responses of peripheral nerve allografts,successful polyethylene glycol-fusion repair of some axons is necessary to prevent Wallerian degeneration of those axons and immune rejection of peripheral nerve allografts,and produce recovery of sensory/motor functions and voluntary behaviors.Translation of polyethylene glycol-fusion technologies would produce a paradigm shift from the current clinical practice of waiting days to months to repair ablation peripheral nerve injuries. 展开更多

Successful polyethylene glycol fusion(PEG-fusion)of severed axons following peripheral nerve injuries for PEG-fused axons has been reported to:(1)rapidly restore electrophysiological continuity;(2)prevent distal Wallerian Degeneration and maintain their myelin sheaths;(3)promote primarily motor,voluntary behavioral recoveries as assessed by the Sciatic Functional Index;and,(4)rapidly produce correct and incorrect connections in many possible combinations that produce rapid and extensive recovery of functional peripheral nervous system/central nervous system connections and reflex(e.g.,toe twitch)or voluntary behaviors.The preceding companion paper describes sensory terminal field reo rganization following PEG-fusion repair of sciatic nerve transections or ablations;howeve r,sensory behavioral recovery has not been explicitly explored following PEG-fusion repair.In the current study,we confirmed the success of PEG-fusion surgeries according to criteria(1-3)above and more extensively investigated whether PEG-fusion enhanced mechanical nociceptive recovery following sciatic transection in male and female outbred Sprague-Dawley and inbred Lewis rats.Mechanical nociceptive responses were assessed by measuring withdrawal thresholds using von Frey filaments on the dorsal and midplantar regions of the hindpaws.Dorsal von Frey filament tests were a more reliable method than plantar von Frey filament tests to assess mechanical nociceptive sensitivity following sciatic nerve transections.Baseline withdrawal thresholds of the sciatic-mediated lateral dorsal region differed significantly across strain but not sex.Withdrawal thresholds did not change significantly from baseline in chronic Unoperated and Sham-operated rats.Following sciatic transection,all rats exhibited severe hyposensitivity to stimuli at the lateral dorsal region of the hindpaw ipsilateral to the injury.However,PEG-fused rats exhibited significantly earlier return to baseline withdrawal thresholds than Negative Control rats.Furthermore,PEG-fused rats with significantly improved Sciatic Functional Index scores at or after 4 weeks postoperatively exhibited yet-earlier von Frey filament recove ry compared with those without Sciatic Functional Index recovery,suggesting a correlation between successful PEG-fusion and both motor-dominant and sensory-dominant behavioral recoveries.This correlation was independent of the sex or strain of the rat.Furthermore,our data showed that the acceleration of von Frey filament sensory recovery to baseline was solely due to the PEG-fused sciatic nerve and not saphenous nerve collateral outgrowths.No chronic hypersensitivity developed in any rat up to 12 weeks.All these data suggest that PEG-fusion repair of transection peripheral nerve injuries co uld have important clinical benefits. 展开更多

Ethylene glycol(EG)is a biomass derivative of polyethylene terephthalate(PET),and its electrocatalytic conversion into high-value chemicals has sparked widespread interest.This study reviews the most recent research development in electrocatalysis-based EG to glycolic acid(GA)conversion.Firstly,the strategies and research results of modulating the electronic structure of catalysts for efficient selective GA production from EG are reviewed.Second,by reviewing the data of in-situ Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and in-situ electrochemically attenuated total reflection surface enhanced infrared absorption spectroscopy,the reaction pathway and catalytic mechanism of EG partial oxidation to GA were clarified.Finally,the design and regulation of catalysts for selective oxidation of EG by electrocatalysis in the future are prospected. 展开更多

Electrocatalytic oxidation of surplus ethylene glycol(EG)to high-value glycolic acid(GA)represents a promising approach for sustainable resource utilization,though critical challenges persist in developing durable electrocatalysts and achieving effective recovery of the free acid product from its salt derivatives in alkaline electrolytes.In this work,a PdNi/NF catalyst was rationally synthesized via a one-step electrodeposition method.Systematic characterization revealed that the electron transfer from Ni to Pd modulates *OH adsorption to accelerate EG oxidation reaction(EGOR)while preventing Pd deactivation through oxidation.The optimized system demonstrated exceptional alkaline performance with a glycolic acid Faraday efficiencyof 95%and a current density of 666 mA·cm^(-2).When implemented in an asymmetric EGOR||HER flowcell configuration where only the cathodic electrolyte contains alkaline,the system demonstrated exceptional operational stability by sustaining 70 mA·cm^(-2) current density at a low cell voltage of 0.9 V in neutral media for over 100 h,with product glycolic acid requiring no further acidification.This investigation provides a practical framework for designing efficientelectrocatalytic systems that simplifiesproduct separation steps. 展开更多

Efficacy and palatability of the developed polyethylene glycol-based formula for the treatment of children with functional constipation

BACKGROUND Excipients may improve the palatability of polyethylene glycol(PEG),the firstline treatment for childhood functional constipation(FC),leading to good compliance and improved treatment outcomes.AIM To compare the developed PEG-based formula(PEG-Chula)to the commercial formula for treating childhood FC.METHODS In this randomized controlled trial,we enrolled children aged<18 years with FC diagnosed by the Rome Ⅳ criteria to receive PEG-Chula[four flavors:(1)Strawberry;(2)Lychee;(3)Apple;and(4)Lychee-rose]or Forlax(orange-grapefruit flavor)for eight weeks.The primary outcomes included changes in stool frequency and consistency measured by the Bristol Stool scale.The secondary outcomes were constipation-related symptom improvement,adverse events,and palatability measured by the facial hedonic scale.RESULTS Fifty-two children diagnosed with FC[median age:4.21(2.33,7.88)years;35(67.31%)females]were enrolled.After the 8-week treatment,the mean weekly stool frequency increased in both groups,the mean change was 4.02(95%CI:3.09-4.95)in PEG-Chula and 3.78(95%CI:2.79-4.78)in commercial PEG compared to baseline(P<0.001).The extent of stool consistency improvement did not differ significantly.The most preferred PEG-Chula flavor was rated more palatable than the commercial PEG.Treatment compliance correlated with medication palatability(r=0.34,P=0.013).No significant differences in adverse events were found.CONCLUSION Both PEG-based formulas are effective and safe for managing pediatric FC. 展开更多

The electrochemical upgrading of polyethylene terephthalate(PET)plastics represents a highly promising strategy for achieving high-value utilization of waste resources,and its efficiency is highly related to identify active electrocatalysts for PET-derived ethylene glycol oxidation reaction(EGOR).In this work,atomically thin high-entropy PdPtRhFeCuMo metallene nanoribbons(PdPtRhFeCuMo HMRs)have been synthesized and served as high-performance catalysts for electro-reforming PET plastic,which possess a high current density of 180 mA cm^(-2) at a low potential of 0.9 V for EGOR,with excellent Faraday efficiency(FE)of 96.81%for highly efficient and selective conversion of EG into high-value-added glycolic acid(GA).Experimental and theoretical results reveal that the multi-metallic synergistic effect of PdPtRhFeCuMo HMRs effectively modulates adsorption behavior of intermediates and reduce the EGOR energy barrier,thus promoting the selective EG-to-GA conversion.This study proposes the reasonable design of high-entropy metallene nanoribbons for the electrochemical upgrading of PET plastics to high-value C2 products. 展开更多

Gas-phase synthesis of glycolide(GL)from methyl glycolate(MG)is of great significance for producing biodegradable polyglycolic acid.Here,we report a detailed thermodynamics study for the gas-phase synthesis of GL from MG,which involves complex reaction pathways,by utilizing the Gibbs free energy minimization method.The results indicate that the decompositions of MG and GL and the polymerization of MG are thermodynamically favorable as compared with the target pathway,i.e.,the cyclization of MG.Effects of the reaction conditions including temperature,pressure and feed composition on the formation of GL and linear polymers have also been addressed,which demonstrate that the higher temperature and lower pressure can effectively inhibit the formation of linear methyl ester dimer and improve the selectivity to GL.In addition,the higher N_(2)/MG ratio is beneficial for the formation of GL in the process promoted by catalysts.These thermodynamics results indicate that the process promoted by catalysts would benefit from the kinetics control by high-performance catalysts and the operation at high temperature,low pressure and high N_(2)/MG ratio to enhance the yield of targeted GL.The insights demonstrated here from thermodynamics are valuable for guiding the design of catalysts and/or optimization of reaction conditions for the gas-phase synthesis of GL from MG. 展开更多

The production of high-purity propylene glycol monomethyl ether acetate(PMA)through the transesterification of propylene glycol monomethyl ether(PM)and methyl acetate(MeOAc)is traditionally catalyzed by sodium methoxide.However,the practical application of this method is significantly hindered by the inherent limitations of sodium methoxide,such as its high sensitivity to moisture and propensity for solid precipitation,which impede its effective use in continuous processes.This work proposed a continuous catalytic distillation(CD)process utilizing Amberlyst 15 cation exchange resin as the catalyst.A comprehensive series of reaction kinetic and CD experiments were conducted to evaluate the performance of the proposed process.The results demonstrate that under the optimal operating conditions,namely an ester-to-ether molar ratio of 6:1,a refluxratio of 5:1,a total feed rate of 0.92 g‧min^(-1),and an evaporation rate of 266.47 m^(3)‧m^(-2)‧h^(-1),the conversion rate of PM achieves 99.95%,and the PMA yield is 97.31%.Based on these findings,a process flowsheet for a continuous CD process tailored for the production of electronic-grade PMA is presented.This design incorporates light and heavy removal steps to ensure the production of PMA with a purity of 99.99%.Additionally,the process utilizes pressure swing distillation to recover MeOAc,thereby enhancing the overall efficiencyand sustainability of the production process.The proposed continuous CD process offers a highly efficient,cost-effective,and environmentally sustainable solution for the production of electronic-grade PMA. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Ethylene glycol(EG)poisoning is often caused by the accidental ingestion of antifreeze.EG is metabolized into glycolate and oxalate and may cause metabolic acidaemia,neurotoxicity,acute kidney injury,and death.A variety of EG poisoning case reports have been published,and we wrote this case report and literature review to summarize the clinical experience of patients who survived EG poisoning.CASE SUMMARY In this case report,a 55-year-old man developed EG poisoning after ingesting antifreeze by accident and experienced acute kidney injury,nervous system dysfunction and inhalation pneumonia.The timely use of ethanol for detoxification,initiation of haemodialysis,and protection of organ function are effective treatment methods for patients with antifreeze poisoning.The patient was discharged in the 3rd week after admission.When discharged,the patient did not report any discomfort,had stable vital signs,did not have fever or diarrhoea,and had improved liver and kidney functions.CONCLUSION A timely diagnosis,haemodialysis,and organ protection are the keys to the successful treatment of poisoned patients. 展开更多

BACKGROUND In the field of clinical intestinal preparation,compound polyethylene glycol electrolyte solution(SF-PEG)is a commonly used intestinal cleaner.However,practice has shown that using only a single polyethylene glycol formulation often fails to achieve the desired intestinal preparation effect.Linalotide has a unique mechanism of action,which can effectively enhance the secretion of small intestinal fluid and promote intestinal peristalsis.The combination of linaclotide and SF-PEG may provide a better solution for intestinal preparation and improve the quality of intestinal cleaning.Therefore,exploring the application value and clinical efficacy of linaclotide capsules combined with SF-PEG in intestinal preparation is of great clinical significance.AIM To explore the effects of the combination of linaclotide capsules and SF-PEG,including its efficacy in intestinal preparation and patient tolerance.METHODS To investigate the differences in the effectiveness of different bowel preparation plans in colonoscopy,this article conducted a comprehensive and detailed retrospective analysis of the medical records of patients who underwent colonoscopy from January 2023 to December 2023.In this study,116 patients were accurately divided into three groups based on the different intestinal preparation drugs used before colonoscopy.Among them,group A consisted of 29 patients who underwent intestinal preparation using 3 liters of SF-PEG combined with linaclotide;group B consists of 50 patients who underwent intestinal preparation using 3 liters of SF-PEG;group C consisted of 37 patients who underwent intestinal preparation using a combination of 2-liter SF-PEC and linaclotide.Subsequently,this article evaluated the quality of intestinal preparation in these three groups of patients,using the Boston bowel preparation scale(BBPS)as a quantitative indicator,while comparing multiple indicators such as intestinal preparation completion rate and detection of positive lesions,providing a strong basis for optimizing clinical intestinal preparation plans.RESULTS No statistically significant differences were found in BBPS scores(7.75±1.23,7.69±1.14,and 7.66±1.31;P=0.240),bowel preparation completion rates(96.55%,90.00%,and 97.30%;P=0.293),adenoma detection rates(20.69%,38.00%,and 32.43%;P=0.281),polyp detection rates(34.48%,50.00%,37.84%;P=0.326),insertion time(6.03±4.34,6.12±3.60,and 5.33±2.42;P=0.584),and patient satisfaction rates(89.66%,84.00%,and 97.30%;P=0.398)among the three groups.However,statistically significant differences were observed in withdrawal time(7.45±2.91,9.02±3.54,and 6.86±2.66;P=0.027)and adverse reaction rates(6.90%,20.00%,and 2.70%;P=0.029)among the three groups.Multiple comparisons showed that group C had significantly lower withdrawal time and adverse reaction rates than group B(P=0.013,P=0.016).CONCLUSION Linaclotide capsules show a trend in improving bowel preparation quality and reducing the dosage of SF-PEG. 展开更多

Ethylene glycol oxidation reaction(EGOR)is important to address the environmental issues caused by the increased production of polyethylene terephthalate(PET).Metal organic frameworks(MOFs)with superior stability,high specific surface area and excellent catalytic performance can convert PET into valuable products through EGOR and hydrogen evolution reaction(HER).Herein,a microbial template strategy was adopted to prepare carbon sphere-supported orthogonal nanosheet bimetallic MOF catalysts.The prepared catalyst needs only 1.42 V,307 mV,and 1.83 V at a current density of 100 mA cm^(-2) for EGOR,HER,and EGOR//HER,respectively.More importantly,it can stably perform for at least 160 h at a current density of 500 mA cm^(-2).The high specific surface area of bimetallic MOF and the synergistic effect of yeast carbon shell increase the contact area between the intrinsic active sites and*OH and EG,thus improving the EGOR and HER catalytic activity and stability.This work provides a novel strategy to construct bimetallic orthogonal electrocatalysts with efficient HER//EGOR performance,which is of great significance for achieving sustainable energy conversion and environmental purification. 展开更多

The electrodeposition behaviors of nickel on glassy carbon(GC) and carbon steel(CS) electrodes were investigated in the14.3%-85.7%(mole fraction) betaine.HCl ethylene glycol(EG) ionic liquid using cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry.The results indicated that the reduction of Ni(Ⅱ) on CS electrode via a diffusion-controlled quasi-reversible process was much more facile and easier than that occurred on GC electrode,which followed a diffusion-controlled three-dimensional instantaneous nucleation and growth.Scanning electron microscopy was used to observe that the deposit was dense and contained fine crystallites with average size of(80±4) nm.Energy dispersive spectrometer analysis showed that the obtained deposit was metallic nickel.X-ray diffraction spectroscopy indicated that(111) plane was the most preferred crystal orientation.The nickel deposit was luminous and bright,and had good adhesion with the CS substrate. 展开更多

The results showed that the milk fat and dry matter contents in the dairy cows administered with Ca-P-Mg mixture and compound oral rehydration salts were higher than those in the dairy cows administered with propylene glycol(P 〈0.05). 背景:红景天苷由于抗炎、抗氧化和促血管生成的特性在多种疾病的治疗中显示出潜力,但在糖尿病创面愈合方面的应用仍有待进一步探索。目的:探索含红景天苷的3层纳米纤维膜修复糖尿病皮肤创面的效果。方法:①分别制备聚己内酯-聚乙二醇-... 背景:红景天苷由于抗炎、抗氧化和促血管生成的特性在多种疾病的治疗中显示出潜力,但在糖尿病创面愈合方面的应用仍有待进一步探索。目的:探索含红景天苷的3层纳米纤维膜修复糖尿病皮肤创面的效果。方法:①分别制备聚己内酯-聚乙二醇-聚乙烯醇静电纺丝膜与聚己内酯-聚乙二醇/红景天苷-聚乙烯醇静电纺丝膜,表征膜的形貌、水接触角、拉伸弹性模量及药物缓释特性。将两种膜分别与人脐静脉内皮细胞共培养,通过细胞黏附与活死染色分析膜的生物相容性。②使用1μg/mL脂多糖干预对数期的小鼠单核巨噬细胞白血病细胞系(RAW264.7),24 h后收集细胞上清液,与含体积分数10%胎牛血清的DMEM高糖培养基混合后作为条件培养基。将人脐静脉内皮细胞分3组培养:对照组不加入任何材料,其余两组分别与聚己内酯-聚乙二醇-聚乙烯醇静电纺丝膜与聚己内酯-聚乙二醇/红景天苷-聚乙烯醇静电纺丝膜共培养,同时加入条件培养基诱导炎症反应,检测细胞增殖、迁移与成管能力。③使用1μg/mL脂多糖(诱导炎症反应)干预RAW264.7细胞24 h后分3组培养,对照组不加入任何材料,其余两组分别与聚己内酯-聚乙二醇-聚乙烯醇膜与聚己内酯-聚乙二醇/红景天苷-聚乙烯醇膜共培养,检测细胞内一氧化氮水平与CD206、白细胞介素1βmRNA表达。④取C57小鼠24只,利用高脂高糖喂养+腹腔注射链脲佐菌素的方式建立糖尿病模型,造模3周后在小鼠背部制作1个直径8 mm的圆形全层皮肤缺损,随机分3组干预:空白组(n=8)不植入任何材料,对照组(n=8)、实验组(n=8)分别植入聚己内酯-聚乙二醇-聚乙烯醇静电纺丝膜或聚己内酯-聚乙二醇/红景天苷-聚乙烯醇静电纺丝膜,观察创面愈合情况,并于设定时间点进行创面皮肤组织苏木精-伊红、Masson染色与CD206、血管内皮生长因子免疫组化染色。结果与结论:①扫描电镜下可见聚己内酯-聚乙二醇/红景天苷-聚乙烯醇静电纺丝膜呈3层结构,各层纤维呈随机排列,相互连接,构成多孔结构。聚己内酯-聚乙二醇/红景天苷-聚乙烯醇静电纺丝膜的水接触角小于聚己内酯-聚乙二醇-聚乙烯醇静电纺丝膜(P<0.05),两组膜的拉伸弹性模量相比无明显差异。聚己内酯-聚乙二醇/红景天苷-聚乙烯醇静电纺丝膜具有良好的药物释放性能。两组膜材料均具有优异的生物相容性,能够有效支持细胞的生长与存活。②在炎症反应下,相较于对照组、聚己内酯-聚乙二醇-聚乙烯醇静电纺丝膜,聚己内酯-聚乙二醇/红景天苷-聚乙烯醇静电纺丝膜可促进人脐静脉内皮细胞的增殖、迁移与成管能力。③在炎症反应下,相较于对照组、聚己内酯-聚乙二醇-聚乙烯醇膜,聚己内酯-聚乙二醇/红景天苷-聚乙烯醇静电纺丝膜可降低细胞内一氧化氮水平、白细胞介素1βmRNA表达,提升CD206mRNA表达,表明聚己内酯-聚乙二醇/红景天苷-聚乙烯醇静电纺丝膜能够有效地促进巨噬细胞向M2表型极化,发挥抗炎作用。④动物实验显示,相较于对照组、聚己内酯-聚乙二醇-聚乙烯醇静电纺丝膜,聚己内酯-聚乙二醇/红景天苷-聚乙烯醇静电纺丝膜可促进糖尿病创面的愈合;苏木精-伊红和Masson染色显示,实验组皮肤样本中新生血管生成更为显著,胶原纤维完全成熟。免疫组化染色结果表明,聚己内酯-聚乙二醇/红景天苷-聚乙烯醇静电纺丝膜通过上调CD206和血管内皮生长因子的表达显著促进巨噬细胞向M2型极化和血管生成。 展开更多

目的:探究聚乙二醇重组人生长激素对特发性矮小症(ISS)患儿的影响。方法:选取荆州市第三人民医院儿科2019年1月—2024年6月收治的ISS患儿120例,采用随机数字表法分为对照组(n=60,人生长激素注射液治疗)和观察组(n=60,聚乙二醇重组人生... 目的:探究聚乙二醇重组人生长激素对特发性矮小症(ISS)患儿的影响。方法:选取荆州市第三人民医院儿科2019年1月—2024年6月收治的ISS患儿120例,采用随机数字表法分为对照组(n=60,人生长激素注射液治疗)和观察组(n=60,聚乙二醇重组人生长激素治疗),两组均连续治疗6个月。对比两组胰岛素样生长因子-1(IGF-1)水平、身高与体重、甲状腺功能、骨代谢指标[Ⅰ型胶原交联羧基末端肽(ⅠCTP)、Ⅰ型前胶原氨基端前肽(P1NP)、骨钙素(OC)]及不良反应。结果:治疗后,观察组身高为(135.91±10.51)cm、体重为(35.68±2.12)kg、IGF-1为(333.94±14.09)ng/mL,高于对照组(P<0.05);治疗后,两组血清FT3、FT4及促甲状腺激素(TSH)水平比较,差异无统计学意义(P>0.05);治疗后,两组ⅠCTP、P1NP、OC较治疗前升高,且观察组比对照组高(P<0.05);两组不良反应发生率比较,差异无统计学意义(P>0.05)。结论:聚乙二醇重组人生长激素能够有效调节ISS患儿的IGF-1水平,对其骨代谢指标具有改善作用,且不影响患儿的甲状腺功能,且不增加不良反应。 展开更多

黄萎病是造成棉花产量和品质严重下降的重要病害,生产上至今无法根治。棉花抗黄萎病分子机制不明是阻碍棉花分子育种的主要原因。乙醇酸氧化酶(glycolate oxidase, GOX)是植物中产生ROS主要来源之一,在植物抗病性中起着至关重要的作用... 黄萎病是造成棉花产量和品质严重下降的重要病害,生产上至今无法根治。棉花抗黄萎病分子机制不明是阻碍棉花分子育种的主要原因。乙醇酸氧化酶(glycolate oxidase, GOX)是植物中产生ROS主要来源之一,在植物抗病性中起着至关重要的作用。本研究从棉花基因组中鉴定了11个GOX家族成员,并克隆了其中一个成员GHD01G0345,其开放阅读框(open reading frame, ORF)为1 110 bp,编码369个氨基酸。该基因编码氨基酸序列中包含一个完整的α-羟基酸氧化-FMN域和关键的催化活性氨基酸。结果表明,当陆地棉受到黄萎病菌侵染12 h时,出现活性氧积累和过氧化氢(H2O2)含量升高,同时GHD01G0345基因表达量也达到最大值。启动子顺式作用元件分析发现GHD01G0345启动子中除了大量的光反应元件外,还有参与水杨酸(salicylic acid, SA)反应的顺式作用元件。当SA诱导后,GHD01G0345表达模式与黄萎病菌胁迫后相似,其表达量在6 h达到最大值。由此推测,棉花体内SA水平升高会使GHD01G0345基因表达上调,导致ROS的大量产生,进而介导多种应答反应,最终使棉花获得对黄萎病菌的抗性。 展开更多

Catalytic hydrogenation of dimethyl oxalate (DMO) over copper-silver catalyst supported on silica was studied. The Cu-Ag/SiO2 catalyst supported on silica sol was prepared by homogeneous deposition-precipitation of the mixture of aqueous euprammonia complex and silica sol. The proper active temperature of Cu-Ag/SiO2 catalyst for hydrogenation of DMO was 523-623 K. The most preferable reaction conditions for methyl glycolate (MG) were optimized: temperature at 468-478 K, 40-60 mesh catalyst diameter, H2/DMO ratio 40, and 1.0 h^-1 of LHSV. 展开更多

AIM:To compare the bowel cleansing efficacy,tolerability and acceptability of split 2-L polyethylene glycol(PEG)-citrate-simethicone(PEG-CS)plus bisacodyl(BIS)vs 4-L PEG for fecal occult blood test-positive screening colonoscopy.METHODS:This was a randomised,observer-blind comparative study.Two hundred and sixty-four subjects underwent screening colonoscopy(mean age 62.5±7.4years,male 61.7%).The primary objective of the study was to compare the bowel cleansing efficacy of the two preparations.Interventions:BIS plus PEG-CS:3 tablets of 5-mg BIS at 16:00,PEG-CS 1-L at 19:00 and 1-L at7:00,4-L PEG:3-L at 17:00,and 1-L at 7:00.Colonoscopy was carried out after 11:00,at least 3 h after the completion of bowel preparation.Bowel cleansing was evaluated using the Harefield Cleansing Scale.RESULTS:Bowel preparation was successful for 92.8%of subjects in the PEG-CS group and for 92.1%of subjects in the 4-L PEG(RR=1.01;95%CI:0.94-1.08).BIS+PEG-CS was better tolerated than 4-L PEG.A greater rate of patients in the BIS+PEG-CS group had no difficulty and/or were willing to repeat the same preparation compared to split-dose 4-L PEG group.Subjects in the BIS+PEG-CS group rated the prep as good or satisfactory in 90.6%as compared to 77%in the 4-L PEG(P=0.003).Subjects receiving BIS+PEGCS stated they fully adhered to instructions drinking all the 2-L solution in 97.1%compared with 87.3%in the4-L PEG(P=0.003).CONCLUSION:BIS plus split 2-L PEG-CS was as effective as but better tolerated and accepted than split4-L PEG for screening colonoscopy.This new procedure may increase the positive attitude and participation to colorectal cancer screening colonoscopy. 展开更多
