Objectives Primary prevention targeting modifiable risk factors would reduce the global burden of colorectal cancer,but the quantitative results are uncertain.We aimed to assess the global burden of colorectal cancer ...Objectives Primary prevention targeting modifiable risk factors would reduce the global burden of colorectal cancer,but the quantitative results are uncertain.We aimed to assess the global burden of colorectal cancer attributed to modifiable lifestyle factors and quantify the potential increase in life expectancy resulting from the elimination of these risk factors.Methods Based on the Global Burden of Disease Study 2021,we examined colorectal cancer deaths and disability-adjusted life years attributed to modifiable risk factors(including smoking,diet low in whole grains,diet low in milk,diet high in red meat,diet low in calcium,diet high in processed meat,and diet low in fiber)at the global,regional,and national levels from 1990 to 2021.The abridged period life table method was utilized to quantify the potential gain in life expectancy from eliminating these risk factors.Results Globally in 2021,57.1%of colorectal cancer deaths and 56.4%of disability-adjusted life years were preventable,with rates of 7.55(4.94–9.64)and 174.67(114.54–222.24)per 100,000 population,respectively.The modifiable burden has diminished in the high,high-middle,and low socio-demographic index quintiles and remained steady in the middle one.However,there is a concerning increase in the low-middle one.In 2021,the elimination of global colorectal cancer attributed to modifiable factors would increase the life expectancy for males and females by 0.107 and 0.109 years,respectively.Conclusion Our results quantitatively demonstrate the substantial burden reduction in colorectal cancer and the significant gain in life expectancy that can be achieved by eliminating modifiable lifestyle factors.展开更多
This study directs the discussion of HIV disease with a novel kind of complex dynamical generalized and piecewise operator in the sense of classical and Atangana Baleanu(AB)derivatives having arbitrary order.The HIV i...This study directs the discussion of HIV disease with a novel kind of complex dynamical generalized and piecewise operator in the sense of classical and Atangana Baleanu(AB)derivatives having arbitrary order.The HIV infection model has a susceptible class,a recovered class,along with a case of infection divided into three sub-different levels or categories and the recovered class.The total time interval is converted into two,which are further investigated for ordinary and fractional order operators of the AB derivative,respectively.The proposed model is tested separately for unique solutions and existence on bi intervals.The numerical solution of the proposed model is treated by the piece-wise numerical iterative scheme of Newtons Polynomial.The proposed method is established for piece-wise derivatives under natural order and non-singular Mittag-Leffler Law.The cross-over or bending characteristics in the dynamical system of HIV are easily examined by the aspect of this research having a memory effect for controlling the said disease.This study uses the neural network(NN)technique to obtain a better set of weights with low residual errors,and the epochs number is considered 1000.The obtained figures represent the approximate solution and absolute error which are tested with NN to train the data accurately.展开更多

Continuous improvements in the accuracy of surface mass loading products, performance of Earth models, and precise data-processing technologies have significantly advanced research on the effects of environmental loading on nonlinear variations in GNSS coordinate time series. However, owing to theoretical limitations, the lack of high spatiotemporal resolution surface mass observations, and the coupling of GNSS technology-related systematic errors, environmental loading and nonlinear GNSS reference station displacements remain inconsistent. The applicability and capability of these loading products across different regions also require further evaluation. This paper outlines methods for modeling environmental loading, surface mass loading products, and service organizations. In addition, it summarizes recent advances in applying environmental loading to address nonlinear variations in global and regional GNSS coordinate time series. Moreover, the scientific questions of existing studies are summarized, and insights into future research directions are provided. The complex nonlinear motion of reference stations is a major factor limiting the accuracy of the current terrestrial reference frame. Further refining the environmental load modeling method, establishing a surface mass distribution model with high spatiotemporal resolution and reliability, exploring other environmental load factors such as ice sheet and artificial mass-change effects, and developing an optimal data-processing model and strategy for reprocessing global reference station data consistently could contribute to the development of a millimeter-level nonlinear motion model for GNSS reference stations with actual physical significance and provide theoretical support for establishing a terrestrial reference frame with 1 mm accuracy by 2050.展开更多

With the rapid development of aviation industry and its increasing impact on the global climate change,the contributions of carbon emissions frominternational flights are attracting more and more attention worldwide.T...With the rapid development of aviation industry and its increasing impact on the global climate change,the contributions of carbon emissions frominternational flights are attracting more and more attention worldwide.This study,taking Macao as the aviation hub,established the cross-border aviation carbon emission evaluation model to explore dynamic carbon emissions and net-zero path of international flights.The aviation hubmainly covers 58 routes and five types of civil aircraft from 12 countries or regions during 2000-2022.The results show that the aviation transportation in Macao emitted about 1.44 million tons CO_(2)eq in 2019,which is high 3.6 times that of 2000.The COVID-19 has led to a rapid decline in aviation carbon emissions in a short period of time,carbon emissions in 2020 decreased by 80%compared to 2019.In terms of cumulative carbon emissions from 2000 to 2019,the A321 and A320 Airbus contribute to 80%of carbon emissions.And the Chinese mainland(37%)and Taiwan(29%)are the main sources of emissions.In 2000-2019,the proportion of carbon emissions from China(including Taiwan and Hong Kong)decrease from 91%to 53%,while the contribution from Southeast Asia(from 5% to 26%),Japan and South Korea(from 2% to 19%)keep the growth trends.In the optimal scenario(B3C3),net zero emissions of cross-border aviation in Macao can be not achieved,and there is still only by removing 0.3 million tons CO_(2)eq.Emission reduction technology and new energy usage are priorities for the aviation emission reduction.展开更多

China actively fosters practical green cooperation to advance global sustainable development,and strengthens global environmental governance initiatives,including the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goal...China actively fosters practical green cooperation to advance global sustainable development,and strengthens global environmental governance initiatives,including the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs).However,this approach has often positioned China as more of a doer than a talker,leading to insufficient recognition in the international community.Domestic Chinese research has frequently highlighted these issues within the ecological civilization,especially in its global dimension.Building on existing research,this study contends that the disparity in recognition stems from three crucial gaps:a conceptual gap between ecological civilization as a new narrative and established international governance frameworks;a practical gap between how China’s ecological civilization advances sustainable development governance versus international understanding;and a communication gap between its substantial achievements and inadequate communication of these experiences.To address these gaps,this paper recommends that China strengthen its efforts in three key areas:First,maintain strategic resolve by deepening green practices and strengthening corporate environmental standards to advance green norms.Second,promote the global co-construction of ecological civilization and strengthen global governance featuring extensive consultation and joint contributions for shared benefits.Third,enhance fairness,representativeness,and inclusiveness in international sustainable de‐velopment negotiations.Finally,China,along with Global South countries,should continue advancing global ecological civilization.This serves as both a response to current environmental governance challenges and a long-term pathway toward a global community of shared future.展开更多
Urbanization radically alters the climatic environment and landscape patterns of urban areas,but its impact on the carbon sequestration capacity of vegetation remains uncertain.Given the limitations of current small-s...Urbanization radically alters the climatic environment and landscape patterns of urban areas,but its impact on the carbon sequestration capacity of vegetation remains uncertain.Given the limitations of current small-scale ground-based in situ experiments,the response of vegetation carbon sequestration capacity to urbanization and the factors influencing it remain unclear at the global scale.Using multisource remote sensing data,we quanti-fied and differentiated the direct and indirect impacts of urbanization on the carbon sequestration capacity of vegetation in 508 large urban areas globally from 2000 to 2020.The results revealed that the direct impacts of urbanization were generally negative.However,446 cities experienced an indirect enhancement in vegetation carbon sequestration capacity during urbanization,averaging 19.6%globally and offsetting 14.7%of the di-rect loss due to urbanization.These positive indirect effects were most pronounced in environments with limited hydrothermal conditions and increased most in densely populated temperate and cold regions.Furthermore,indi-rect impacts were closely related to urbanization intensity,human footprint,and level of urban development.Our study enhances the understanding of how the carbon sequestration capacity of vegetation dynamically responds to changes in the urban environment,which is crucial for improving future urban vegetation management and building sustainable cities.展开更多

文摘Ports,the core hub of global supply chains,serve as vital links in the economic and trade exchanges among countries.Efficient,safe,green and smart ports are essential for the smooth operation of global trade.Recently,ISO established ISO/TC 8/SC 27,Ports and terminals,the secretariat of which is held by China.This is a big breakthrough of China’s participation in the international standardization activities in the area of transportation.
文摘Although national transplant organizations share common visions and goals,the creation of a unified global organization remains impractical.Differences in ethnicity,culture,religion,and education shape local practices and infrastructure,making the establishment of a single global entity unfeasible.Even with these social disparities aside,logistical factors such as time and distance between organ procurement and transplantation sites pose significant challenges.While technological advancements have extended organ preservation times,they have yet to support the demands of transcontinental transplantations effectively.This review presents a comparative analysis of the structures,operational frameworks,policies,and legislation governing various transplant organizations around the world.Key differences pertain to the administration of these organizations,trends in organ donation,and organ allocation policies,which reflect the financial,cultural,and religious diversity across different regions.While a global transplant organization may be out of reach,agreeing on best practices for the benefit of patients is essential.

文摘China actively fosters practical green cooperation to advance global sustainable development,and strengthens global environmental governance initiatives,including the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs).However,this approach has often positioned China as more of a doer than a talker,leading to insufficient recognition in the international community.Domestic Chinese research has frequently highlighted these issues within the ecological civilization,especially in its global dimension.Building on existing research,this study contends that the disparity in recognition stems from three crucial gaps:a conceptual gap between ecological civilization as a new narrative and established international governance frameworks;a practical gap between how China’s ecological civilization advances sustainable development governance versus international understanding;and a communication gap between its substantial achievements and inadequate communication of these experiences.To address these gaps,this paper recommends that China strengthen its efforts in three key areas:First,maintain strategic resolve by deepening green practices and strengthening corporate environmental standards to advance green norms.Second,promote the global co-construction of ecological civilization and strengthen global governance featuring extensive consultation and joint contributions for shared benefits.Third,enhance fairness,representativeness,and inclusiveness in international sustainable de‐velopment negotiations.Finally,China,along with Global South countries,should continue advancing global ecological civilization.This serves as both a response to current environmental governance challenges and a long-term pathway toward a global community of shared future.

文摘Urbanization radically alters the climatic environment and landscape patterns of urban areas,but its impact on the carbon sequestration capacity of vegetation remains uncertain.Given the limitations of current small-scale ground-based in situ experiments,the response of vegetation carbon sequestration capacity to urbanization and the factors influencing it remain unclear at the global scale.Using multisource remote sensing data,we quanti-fied and differentiated the direct and indirect impacts of urbanization on the carbon sequestration capacity of vegetation in 508 large urban areas globally from 2000 to 2020.The results revealed that the direct impacts of urbanization were generally negative.However,446 cities experienced an indirect enhancement in vegetation carbon sequestration capacity during urbanization,averaging 19.6%globally and offsetting 14.7%of the di-rect loss due to urbanization.These positive indirect effects were most pronounced in environments with limited hydrothermal conditions and increased most in densely populated temperate and cold regions.Furthermore,indi-rect impacts were closely related to urbanization intensity,human footprint,and level of urban development.Our study enhances the understanding of how the carbon sequestration capacity of vegetation dynamically responds to changes in the urban environment,which is crucial for improving future urban vegetation management and building sustainable cities.

文摘On November 24,2024,the 29th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change(COP29)concluded in Baku,Azerbaijan.After two weeks of negotiations and a delay of more than 30 hours,the conference finally set the goal for developed countries to mobilize at least US$300 billion per year for developing countries to adapt to climate change by 2035.It was no easy job to get 200 countries on the same page of a complex climate finance agreement.Two days before the conclusion of the conference,the Global South rejected a US$250 billion package offered by developed countries,which nearly derailed the final agreement.
