Bridging the gap:Nursing faculty’s perceptions and challenges in teaching generation Z students

Objective:This study aims to assess nursing faculty’s perceptions and challenges in teaching Generation Z students,providing insights into the barriers and opportunities in bridging the generational learning gap.Material and Methods:A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted among 335 nursing faculty members in the Delhi NCR region.Participants were recruited using a snowball sampling technique,and data were collected via a self-administered structured questionnaire.The questionnaire measured faculty perceptions and challenges using a Likert scale,with reliability assessed using Cronbach’s alpha.Data were analyzed through Descriptive and inferential statistics.Results:Findings revealed that while faculty recognize the need for technology integration and student-centered learning,they face challenges such as academic integrity concerns,psychological stress,and adapting to Gen Z’s expectations for personalized learning.The correlation between faculty perceptions and challenges was negligible(r=0.020,P=0.717),indicating that faculty perceptions remain stable despite these difficulties.Conclusion:Nursing faculty need to adapt pedagogical approaches to meet the evolving needs of Gen Z students.Bridging the gap between traditional teaching methods and the evolving needs of Generation Z requires faculty training,institutional support,and curriculum innovations. 展开更多

China,recognized as the world’s largest developing nation,displays considerably lower per capita consumption of dietary supplements in comparison to Asian nations such as Japan and South Korea.However,in recent years,there has been a substantial surge in health consciousness among the Chinese populace.This trend is not confined to the middle-aged and elderly;even younger consumer demographics are exhibiting increased health awareness.Consequently,the target demographic for dietary supplements is transitioning towards a younger demographic.Within the Chinese dietary supplement industry,vitamin C has consistently held the largest market share,commanding a broad consumer base.This underscores the substantial role of vitamin C in the dietary supplement sector.In response to the trend towards a younger target demographic in the dietary supplement industry,adjustments are required to accommodate the preferences of this younger consumer group.This research,guided by Norman’s emotional design framework,executed a survey of over 200 respondents to investigate the preferences of Generation Z consumers in China.The research encompassed packaging,product forms,and brand imagery,corresponding to the emotional design’s visceral,behavioral,and reflective layers,with a primary focus on optimally meeting the emotional needs of Generation Z.The findings indicated that consumers favor products in capsule form,packaged in zip-lock.The predominant color scheme is clean white,accented by vibrant orange elements,while emphasizing the product’s health and scientific attributes.This study offers valuable insights for the continued evolution of the vitamin C dietary supplement market in China. 展开更多

At the same time, in the face of the impact and challenges of the new era, front-line medical workers have forged valuable spiritual wealth in the practice of fighting against COVID-19, which contains family feelings, dedication, scientific spirit and humanitarian spirit. To integrate this spiritual connotation into the medical ethics education of medical students is the need for the country to cultivate qualified medical talents in the future, and is also the requirement of the fundamental task of establishing morality and cultivating talents. Against the backdrop of the deep integration of digital technology and youth subculture,Artificial Intelligence(AI)tools such as DeepSeek have rapidly gained popularity among Generation Z,giving rise to a new cultural practice known as“AI divination.”This collective behavior reflects deeper cultural anxieties,as young people in the AI era constructed by algorithms are gradually losing their ability to engage with complex realities.How does AI divination reshape Generation Z’s decisionmaking patterns?Does prolonged reliance on AI divination lead to a preference for simplistic attributions of complex realities,thereby eroding their capacity for deep thinking?Existing research has revealed the emotional motivations behind young people’s online divination practices,but lacks in-depth exploration of how AI technology influences their decision-making.This study focuses on Gen Z’s use of DeepSeek for AI divination,employing text analysis and in-depth interviews to investigate the mechanisms through which AI divination impacts young people’s daily decision-making and the evolution of their cognitive patterns.The findings reveal that Generation Z’s decision-making patterns exhibit a restructuring trend from deep thinking to algorithmic dependency.Through sustained interaction,young people’s cognition undergoes a dynamic process of“cognitive domestication”.This study reveals the interactive relationship between technology and young people’s cognition in the digital age,providing empirical evidence for understanding the digital transformation of Generation Z’s subculture and the patterns of technology adoption. 展开更多

This study is set against the backdrop of the experience economy,focusing on the offline clothing consumption scenarios of Generation Z(born between 1996 and 2010).It explores the impact mechanism of multi-dimensional consumption experiences in physical stores on the arousal of positive emotions.Through a questionnaire survey,270 valid samples were collected,and structural equation modeling was employed for analysis.The findings reveal that sensory experience(visual and tactile stimuli),Feeling experience(staff service and theme activities),interactive experience(fitting room interaction),and Related experience(sense of community belonging to the brand)significantly stimulate consumers'positive emotions.However,olfactory and auditory experiences(music,fragrance)and Thinking Experiences(reflection on slogans)did not reach a significant level of impact.The study uncovers the"pleasure-arousal-control"Feeling synergy effect in offline consumption,filling the gap in traditional impulse buying theories,which have not adequately addressed multi-sensory integrated experiences and the Feeling uniqueness of Generation Z.In practice,it is recommended that clothing physical retail businesses enhance Feeling value delivery through immersive visual displays,AR fitting technology,community-oriented operations,and personalized service design to meet Generation Z's deep-seated needs for instant gratification,social identity,and self-expression. 展开更多

The audit sector has a problem in recruiting junior staff,which is exacerbated by the changing desires of the youngest generations entering employment,Generations Y and Z,and supposedly by the growth of digitalization.Members of these generations apparently do not find working conditions in the audit sector attractive.This article therefore compares the audit sector’s requirements for potential employees with the expectations of Generations Y and Z of an employer,using the example of the German market.The sector’s requirements are determined with a content structuring qualitative content analysis of selected job advertisements.The expectations of the generations were elicited from the relevant literature,and especially from empirical studies.The analysis reveals the gap between the expectations of members of the youngest generations entering employment and the requirements of the audit sector.Subsequently,potential strategies for attracting sufficiently qualified young staff in the future are outlined. 展开更多

Background With an increasing number of vehicles becoming autonomous,intelligent,and connected,paying attention to the future usage of car human-machine interface with these vehicles should become more relevant.Several studies have addressed car HMI but were less attentive to designing and implementing interactive glazing for every day(autonomous)driving contexts.Methods Reflecting on the literature,we describe an engineering psychology practice and the design of six novel future user scenarios,which envision the application of a specific set of augmented reality(AR)support user interactions.Additionally,we conduct evaluations on specific scenarios and experiential prototypes,which reveal that these AR scenarios aid the target user groups in experiencing a new type of interaction.The overall evaluation is positive with valuable assessment results and suggestions.Conclusions This study can interest applied psychology educators who aspire to teach how AR can be operationalized in a human-centered design process to students with minimal pre-existing expertise or minimal scientific knowledge in engineering psychology. 展开更多

Based on media influence theory and generational difference theory,this study reveals behavioral differences between Generation Z and older groups in their participation in digital protests through a combination of questionnaire surveys and text sentiment analysis.Data analysis shows that Generation Z displays a stronger emotional resonance with content disseminated on social media,is more inclined to trust content generated by users of the same age,and is accustomed to participating in public affairs via visual platforms such as Instagram and TikTok.In contrast,the older group has a cautious attitude towards digital resistance,prefers traditional media channels,and has a lower level of emotional investment.Emotional analysis of over 8,000 social media posts confirms this generational difference:Generation Z frequently uses emotional terms such as“rupture”and“empathy”in their tweets,while the older generation tends to use more rational,argumentative language.The research confirmed that intergenerational media usage habits,shaped by differences in growing-up environments,have a profound impact on the construction of citizenship in the internet age.These findings provide empirical evidence for formulating intergenerational communication strategies and suggest that public issue communication must design differentiated plans based on the characteristics of different generations. 展开更多
