Wide color gamut(WCG) backlight for liquid crystal display(LCD) utilizing white light-emitting diodes(LED) has attracted considerable attention for their high efficiency and color reduction.In this review,recent developments in crystal structure,luminescence and applications of phosphors for wide color gamut LED backlight are introduced.As novel red phosphors,Mn4+activate fluoride and aluminate phosphors are advanced in quantum efficiency,thermal quenching and color saturation for their characteristic spectrum with broad excitation band and linear emission.The crystal structure and fluorescence properties of Mn4+doped fluosilicate,fluorogermanate,fluotitanate,as well as Sr4 Al14O25,CaAl12O19 and BaMgAl10O17 phosphors are discussed in detail.A serial of narrow-band red-emitting Eu2+,Eu3+and Pr3+-doped nitride silicates and molybdate phosphors are also introduced.Rare-earth-doped oxynitride and silicate green-emitting phosphors have attracted more and more attention because of the wide excitation,narrow emission,high quenching temperature,high quantum efficiency,such as β-sialon:Eu2+,Ba3Si6O12N2:Eu2+,MSi2O2N2:Eu2+(M=Ca,Sr,Ba),y-AlON:Mn2+and Ca3Sc2Si3O12:Ce3+.All above phosphors demonstrate their adaptability in wide color gamut LCD display.Especially for Mn4+doped fluosilicate red phosphor and β-sialon:Eu2+green phosphor.To achieve an ultra-high color gamut in white LED backlight and against the OLED,innovative narrow-band-emission red and green phosphor materials with independent intellectual property rights are continuously pursed. 展开更多

A switchable autostereoscopic 3-dimensional(3D) display device with wide color gamut is introduced in this paper. In conjunction with a novel directional quantum-dot(QD) backlight, the precise scanning control strategy, and the eye-tracking system, this spatial-sequential solution enables our autostereoscopic display to combine all the advantages of full resolution,wide color gamut, low crosstalk, and switchable 2D/3D. And also, we fabricated an autostereoscopic display prototype and demonstrated its performances effectively. The results indicate that our system can both break the limitation of viewing position and provide high-quality 3D images. We present two working modes in this system. In the spatial-sequential mode,the crosstalk is about 6%. In the time-multiplexed mode, the viewer should wear auxiliary and the crosstalk is about 1%,just next to that of a commercial 3D display(BENQ XL2707-B and View Sonic VX2268 WM). Additionally, our system is also completely compatible with active shutter glasses and its 3D resolution is same as its 2D resolution. Because of the excellent properties of the QD material, the color gamut can be widely extended to 77.98% according to the ITU-R recommendation BT.2020(Rec.2020). 展开更多

We propose a narrow-band birefringent filter and its application in wide color gamut.The birefringent filter consists of five phase retarders and two polarizers,and it has both narrow band and high transmittance.In the experiment,we fabricate the birefringent filter using quartz phase retarders and polarizers,and apply it in serval different displays.The color gamuts of displays are enhanced more than 30%NTSC(National Television System Committee),and the widest color gamuts that have been obtained are 126%NTSC in liquid crystal displays and 138%NTSC in organic light-emitting devices.Moreover,the deep blue light in spectrum of display can be reduced using the birefringent filter.The birefringent filter can be an efficient element to achieve wide color gamut display. 展开更多

Structural color has been developed based on different nanostructures.However,it still faces strong limitations in color saturation and gamut.Herein,a TiO_(2)quasi-bound state in the continuum(q-BIC) metasurface enables full-hue(0-360°),ultra-saturated(80%-100%) structural colors by tuning nanoblock geometry and spacing,covering 229% standard RGB(sRGB) and 170% Adobe RGB gamut.We further develop an LSTM-VAE-Net model by integrating the long short-term memory(LSTM) and variational autoencoders(VAEs) to facilitate forward prediction and inverse design with high accuracy(99.83%and 99.34%,respectively).Finally,painting reproduction verifies the model's capability for photorealistic multicolor design,demonstrating its potential in high-resolution color printing. 展开更多

The limitations of traditional phosphors,including low quantum efficiency,poor thermal stability,and limited adaptability to multimodal applications,hinder the advancement of multifunctional materials.Here,an excellent multifunctional BaMg_(1.072)Al_(9.928)O_(17):Mn^(2+)(BMAO:Mn^(2+))green phosphor has been synthesized.The far distance between adjacent Mn emission centers(10.27Å)effectively suppresses the concentration quenching effect and achieves a highly Mn^(2+)-rich activated phosphor.BMAO:0.6Mn^(2+)exhibits a remarkably narrow full width at half maximum of only 26 nm and a high photoluminescence quantum yield of 94.9%.Furthermore,the highly rigid structure of the Mn^(2+)sites in the phosphor confers excellent thermal stability,and it retains 90% of its emission intensity when heated from 303 to 423 K.Notably,BMAO:0.6Mn^(2+)exhibits a color gamut covering 125.3% of the National Television System Committee(NTSC)standard and demonstrates advanced X-ray imaging capabilities,with a low detection limit of 35.8 nGy s^(-1) and a high spatial resolution of 18.0 lp mm^(-1).This work not only advances the application prospects of BMAO:Mn^(2+),but also provides valuable insights for designing future multifunctional materials. 展开更多

Structural colors with high saturation,large gamut,high resolution,and tunable color are expected in practical applications.This work explores the generation of tunable structural color based on transmission metasurfaces.The designed metasurfaces consist of rectangular nanoholes etched in silver film,which is deposited on the stretchable polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)substrate.The smaller separation of adjacent nanoholes makes the resolution of metasurface reach 63,500 dpi.The color gamut of the nanostructures reaches 146.9%sRGB.We also perform a comparison with the case on the glass substrate and analyze the incident polarization condition and the coating film of polymethyl methacrylate(PMMA).The ultra-thin structure,high resolution,highperformance structural colors,and convenient transmission mode provide broad application prospects for metasurfaces in color displaying,color printing,and color holographic imaging. 展开更多

量子点发泡光扩散板的开发与应用评价

为了满足高色域、轻量化等需求,将量子点技术与发泡技术相结合,开发基材为聚苯乙烯(PS)的量子点发泡光扩散板。对量子点发泡光扩散板、发泡PS光扩散板、普通PS光扩散板进行微观形貌观察、光学性能与基础物性测试,比较3种扩散板的性能,... 为了满足高色域、轻量化等需求,将量子点技术与发泡技术相结合,开发基材为聚苯乙烯(PS)的量子点发泡光扩散板。对量子点发泡光扩散板、发泡PS光扩散板、普通PS光扩散板进行微观形貌观察、光学性能与基础物性测试,比较3种扩散板的性能,分析其机理。结果表明,量子点发泡光扩散板的泡孔均匀,吸水率仅为0.09%,雾度达到97.06%,亮度与亮度均匀性分别达到2742.4 nit与60.42%,但其力学性能有所降低,拉伸强度为24.6 MPa,冲击强度为1.4 J/m^(2),弯曲强度为46.1 MPa。另外,对量子点发泡光扩散板的耐破性能、挺性进行了测试,在高温高湿、低温贮存和高温贮存3种应用场景下进行了老化测试,对透光率、雾度、翘曲、尺寸、亮度、X值与Y值7个参数进行检验。检测结果表明,量子点发泡光扩散板均达到管控标准,表现出优异的稳定性,适用于多应用场景。 展开更多

High-performance white light-emitting diodes (WLEDs) hold great potential for the next-generation backlight display applications.However,achieving highly efficient and stable WLEDs with wide-color-gamut has remained a formidable goal.Reported here is the first example of pure red narrow bandwidth emission triangular CQDs (PR-NBE-T-CQDs) with photoluminescence peaking at 610 nm.The PR-NBE-T-CQDs synthesized from resorcinol show high quantum yield (QY) of 72% with small full width at half maximum of 33 nm.By simply controlling the reaction time,pure green (PG-) NBE-T-CQDs with high QY of 75% were also obtained.Highly efficient and stable WLEDs with wide-color-gamut based on PR- and PG-NBE-T-CQDs was achieved.This WLED showed a remarkable wide-color gamut of 110% NTSC and high power efficiency of 86.5 lumens per Watt.Furthermore,such WLEDs demonstrate outstanding stability.This work will set the stage for developing highly efficient,low cost and environment-friendly WLEDs based on CQDs for the next-generation wide-color gamut backlight displays. 展开更多

In this study,we analyze how a backlight’s peak wavelength,full-width at half-maximum(FWHM),and color filters affect the color gamut of a liquid crystal display(LCD)device and establish a theoretical limit,even if the FWHM approaches 1 nm.To overcome this limit,we propose a new backlight system incorporating a functional reflective polarizer and a patterned half-wave plate to decouple the polarization states of the blue light and the green/red lights.As a result,the crosstalk between three primary colors is greatly suppressed,and the color gamut is significantly widened.In the experiment,we prepare a white-light source using a blue light-emitting diode(LED)to pump green perovskite polymer film and red quantum dots and demonstrate an exceedingly large color gamut(95.8%Rec.2020 in Commission internationale de l'éclairage(CIE)1931 color space and 97.3%Rec.2020 in CIE 1976 color space)with commercial high-efficiency color filters.These results are beyond the color gamut limit achievable by a conventional LCD.Our design works equally well for other light sources,such as a 2-phosphorconverted white LED. 展开更多

The locus of the isothermal radiative colors is a straight-line segment in the chromaticity diagram. 量子点(Quantum dots)凭借其尺寸可调控、卓越的光致发光量子产率(PLQY)以及宽光谱吸收等特性,展现出了卓越的光学性能,使其成为全彩广色域显示中LED色转换层的理想材料选择。特别是MAPbBr_(3)钙钛矿量子点(PQDs),不仅制备工艺简单,并... 量子点(Quantum dots)凭借其尺寸可调控、卓越的光致发光量子产率(PLQY)以及宽光谱吸收等特性,展现出了卓越的光学性能,使其成为全彩广色域显示中LED色转换层的理想材料选择。特别是MAPbBr_(3)钙钛矿量子点(PQDs),不仅制备工艺简单,并且还拥有优异的光电性能,因而被视为极具商业化潜力的材料。然而,MAPbBr_(3) PQDs在合成后其表面的配体极易脱落,导致表面缺陷态密度增加,这使得它们在水氧等环境因素下稳定性较差,最终导致其PLQY进一步降低。本研究提出了一种高效的一步合成MAPbBr_(3) PQDs策略:通过配体辅助再沉积技术(LARP),并创新性地使用2-己基癸酸(DA)配体替换传统的油酸(OA)配体,在室温条件下成功地合成了具有出色稳定性和高PLQY的MAPbBr_(3) PQDs。与单长碳链的OA配体相比,双短链的DA配体能与MAPbBr_(3) PQDs建立起更强的配位键。配体与PQDs之间的强相互作用有助于全面钝化晶格缺陷,从而减弱非辐射过程并提高材料的环境稳定性。因此,DA修饰后的MAPbBr_(3) PQDs不仅展现出高达87.8%的PLQY,而且在水氧环境中也表现出更高的稳定性。室温环境下,使用DA配体修饰后的MAPbBr_(3) PQDs的PL峰值在放置半个月后仍保持在原来的68.3%,而OA配体修饰的PQDs表现出几乎完全的荧光猝灭。随后,将DA配体修饰后的绿色发射MAPbBr_(3) PQDs、红色发射CsPbBrI2 PQDs以及蓝色发射CsPbCl1.5Br1.5 PQDs置于聚苯乙烯(PS)环境中包覆固化成膜,替代传统荧光粉应用于显示器件发光二极管(LED)的色转换层,测试其色域范围达到了NTSC标准的137.09%。 展开更多

四基色激光显示系统中色温对立体色域、色域覆盖率及光效的影响探究

激光显示以其大色域、高分辨率、高亮度优势,成为第四代大色域显示的代表。为了实现更大色域的显示,需要采用多基色技术与激光显示相结合的方式。然而,显示系统白平衡点色温的不同会导致其复现的颜色范围发生变化。针对此问题,本文理论... 激光显示以其大色域、高分辨率、高亮度优势,成为第四代大色域显示的代表。为了实现更大色域的显示,需要采用多基色技术与激光显示相结合的方式。然而,显示系统白平衡点色温的不同会导致其复现的颜色范围发生变化。针对此问题,本文理论研究了不同色温对四基色激光显示系统的立体色域体积、立体色域覆盖率和光效的影响,并通过实验进行了验证。研究结果表明,在多基色激光显示系统中,采用较高色温的白平衡点可以增加立体色域体积进而提升色彩表现力。与此同时,随着色温的提高,光效值会增加,但立体色域覆盖率会略微下降。如果单纯追求更高的颜色还原度,建议选择色温为6500 K;如果综合考虑立体色域体积、立体色域覆盖率和光效等因素,建议在6500 K到20000 K的范围内选择合适的色温。本研究为实际设计和构建四基色及更多基色的显示系统提供了参考与指导。 展开更多

色域映射是用于在不同设备之间实现彩色图像高保真传输的一种技术。但通过色域映射得到的图像不可避免因颜色信息的损失产生严重的伪影和失真,从而导致纹理结构失真和色彩自然度失真。基于颜色信息损失严重的事实,本文提出了一种基于双... 色域映射是用于在不同设备之间实现彩色图像高保真传输的一种技术。但通过色域映射得到的图像不可避免因颜色信息的损失产生严重的伪影和失真,从而导致纹理结构失真和色彩自然度失真。基于颜色信息损失严重的事实,本文提出了一种基于双阶颜色表示的无参考质量评价方法。传统图像质量评价方法大多基于灰度域提取质量感知特征,少数考虑颜色信息的方法也仅从色调、饱和度等颜色分量中提取特征。色调、饱和度均是通过R、G、B三个颜色分量线性计算而得,忽略了颜色的导数信息。因此本文算法从零阶颜色信息(R、G、B颜色分量)和一阶颜色信息(即导数信息)中进行特征提取,并将所提特征进行回归训练得到质量预测模型。实验证明,该模型对色域映射图像质量的预测性能优于现有的无参考质量评价方法。 展开更多
