Fuzzy analysis method for orthogonal test was used to study the effect of different sowing depth, seed soaking time, illumination intensity and culture soil on the seed germination rate of Eurya chinensis. The results showed that the effect of seed soaking time on the sowing and seedling of Eurya chinensis was the biggest, and the ethers were illumination intensity, sowing depth and culture soil. The germi- nation rate was the highest when composite soil was used as culture soil and seeds were soaked for 48 h and sowed in topsoil, and a layer of sunshade net was used. 展开更多

Cycle slip detection and repair is one of the key technologies for GNSS high-precision positioning. We introduce an enhanced methodology for detecting and repairing BDS four-frequency cycle slips, utilizing fuzzy clustering analysis.Firstly, based on fuzzy clustering analysis, the optimal combinations for the BDS four-frequency,including extra-wide lane(EWL),wide lane(WL),and narrow lane(NL),were selected.Secondly, the feasibility of this method was verified using actual static and dynamic observation data, and different types of cycle slips were simulated for further validation.Meanwhile, the proposed method was compared with the classical Turbo-Edit method through experiments. Finally, cycle slips were repaired using the least squares method.According to the experimental results, the optimal geometry-free phase combinations(-2,2,1,-1),(1,-1,1,-1),(3,2,-2,-3),and the pseudo-range phase combination(-1,1,1,-1),selected based on fuzzy clustering analysis, were used for cycle slip detection. The proposed method accurately detected small, large, and specific cycle slips simulated in the actual data.Compared with the Turbo-Edit method, the proposed methodwas able to detect specific cycle slips that Turbo-Edit could not.It is worth noting that during the repair process, the coefficients of the combined observation values are integers, preserving the integer cycle characteristic of the observation values, which allows cycle slips to be fixed directly, eliminating the need for complex searching procedures.Consequently,by enhancing the precision and reliability of the detection of BDS four-frequency cycle slips, our proposed method provides the support for the high-precision localization of BDS multi-frequency observations. 展开更多

Based on the perception of flood risk factors derived from the lessons learned by the main stakeholders, namely the members of the National Emergency Response Plan (ORSEC) and the people affected by floods in the study area (Thies, Senegal), this work consists of modelling the flood risk using Hierarchical Process Analysis (HPA). This modelling made it possible to determine the coherence index (CI) and the coherence ratio, which were evaluated respectively at 0.27% and 5% according to the perception of the members of the ORSEC Plan, and at 0.28% and 5% according to the perception of the disaster victims. These results show that the working approach is coherent and acceptable. We then carried out Hierarchical Fuzzy Process Analysis (HFPA), an extension of HFPA, which seeks to minimize the margins of error. FPHA uses fuzzification of perception contributions, interference rules and defuzzification to determine the Net Flood Risk Index (NFRI). Integrated with ArcGIS software, the NFRI is used to generate flood risk maps that reveal a high risk of vulnerability of the main outlets occupied by human settlements. 展开更多

The conventional data envelopment analysis (DEA) measures the relative efficiencies of a set of decision making units with exact values of inputs and outputs. In real-world prob- lems, however, inputs and outputs typically have some levels of fuzziness. To analyze a decision making unit (DMU) with fuzzy input/output data, previous studies provided the fuzzy DEA model and proposed an associated evaluating approach. Nonetheless, numerous deficiencies must still be improved, including the α- cut approaches, types of fuzzy numbers, and ranking techniques. Moreover, a fuzzy sample DMU still cannot be evaluated for the Fuzzy DEA model. Therefore, this paper proposes a fuzzy DEA model based on sample decision making unit (FSDEA). Five eval- uation approaches and the related algorithm and ranking methods are provided to test the fuzzy sample DMU of the FSDEA model. A numerical experiment is used to demonstrate and compare the results with those obtained using alternative approaches. 展开更多

The influence of major cultural practices including different nitrogen application rates, population densities, transplanting leaf ages of seedling, and water regimes on rice canopy spectral reflectance was investigated. Results showed that increased nitrogen rates, water regimes and population densities and decreased seedling ages could enhance reflectance at NIR (near infrared) bands and reduce reflectance at visible bands. The stability of slope is affected by a number of factors, some of which have not only random property but also fuzzy characteristic. Therefore, the analysis of slope stability is really an uncertain problem. The customary safety factor does not in reality reflect stability scientifically, quantitatively and practically. In order to obtain more practical results, the slope stability is treated as a fuzzy random event for the evaluation of its fuzzy probability. Finally, the seismic stability of an existing coastal embankment is analyzed by means of the suggested fuzzy probabilistic method. It may be seen that the results of analysis can more fully represent the numerical assessment of the degree of slope seismic stability. 展开更多

Randomness and fuzziness are among the attributes of the influential factors for stability assessment of pile foundation. According to these two characteristics, the triangular fuzzy number analysis approach was introduced to determine the probability-distributed function of mechanical parameters. Then the functional function of reliability analysis was constructed based on the study of bearing mechanism of pile foundation, and the way to calculate interval values of the functional function was developed by using improved interval-truncation approach and operation rules of interval numbers. Afterwards, the non-probabilistic fuzzy reliability analysis method was applied to assessing the pile foundation, from which a method was presented for non- probabilistic fuzzy reliability analysis of pile foundation stability by interval theory. Finally, the probability distribution curve of non- probabilistic fuzzy reliability indexes of practical pile foundation was concluded. Its failure possibility is 0.91%, which shows that the pile foundation is stable and reliable. 展开更多

We present a hybrid singular spectrum analysis (SSA) and fuzzy entropy method to filter noisy nonlinear time series. With this approach, SSA decomposes the noisy time series into its constituent components including both the deterministic behavior and noise, while fuzzy entropy automatically differentiates the optimal dominant components from the noise based on the complexity of each component. We demonstrate the effectiveness of the hybrid approach in reconstructing the Lorenz and Mackey--Class attractors, as well as improving the multi-step prediction quality of these two series in noisy environments. 展开更多

An evaluation index is a prerequisite for the scientific evaluation of a public meteorological service. This paper aims to explore a technical method for determining and screening evaluation indicators.Based on public satisfaction survey data obtained in Wafangdian,China in 2010,this study investigates the suitability of fuzzy clustering analysis method in establishing an evaluation index.Through quantitative analysis of multilayer fuzzy clustering of various evaluation indicators, correlation analysis indicates that if the results of clustering were identical for two evaluation indicators in the same sub-evaluation layer, then one indicator could be removed,or the two indicators merged. For evaluation indicators in different sub-evaluation layers, although clustering reveals attribute correlations, these indicators may not be substituted for one another.Analysis of the applicability of the fuzzy clustering method shows that it plays a certain role in the establishment and correction of an evaluation index. 展开更多

AIM:To define the financial and management conditions required to introduce a femtosecond laser system for cataract surgery in a clinic using a fuzzy logic approach.METHODS:In the simulation performed in the current study, the costs associated to the acquisition and use of a commercially available femtosecond laser platform for cataract surgery(VICTUS,TECHNOLAS Perfect Vision GmbH,Bausch & Lomb,Munich,Germany) during a period of 5y were considered.A sensitivity analysis was performed considering such costs and the countable amortization of the system during this 5y period.Furthermore,a fuzzy logic analysis was used to obtain an estimation of the money income associated to each femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery(G). RESULTS:According to the sensitivity analysis, the femtosecond laser system under evaluation can be profitable if 1400 cataract surgeries are performed per year and if each surgery can be invoiced more than $500.In contrast, the fuzzy logic analysis confirmed that the patient had to pay more per surgery, between $661.8 and $667.4 per surgery, without considering the cost of the intraocular lens(IOL).CONCLUSION:A profitability of femtosecond laser systems for cataract surgery can be obtained after a detailed financial analysis, especially in those centers with large volumes of patients. The cost of the surgery for patients should be adapted to the real flow of patients with the ability of paying a reasonable range of cost. 展开更多

The classification of the springtime water mass has an important influence on the hydrography, regional climate change and fishery in the Taiwan Strait.Based on 58 stations of CTD profiling data collected in the western and southwestern Taiwan Strait during the spring cruise of 2019,we analyze the spatial distributions of temperature(T)and salinity(S)in the investigation area. Then by using the fuzzy cluster method combined with the T-S similarity number,we classify the investigation area into 5 water masses:the Minzhe Coastal Water(MZCW),the Taiwan Strait Mixed Water(TSMW),the South China Sea Surface Water(SCSSW),the South China Sea Subsurface Water(SCSUW)and the Kuroshio Branch Water(KBW).The MZCW appears in the near surface layer along the western coast of Taiwan Strait, showing low-salinity(<32.0)tongues near the Minjiang River Estuary and the Xiamen Bay mouth. The TSMW covers most upper layer of the investigation area. The SCSSW is mainly distributed in the upper layer of the southwestern Taiwan Strait, beneath which is the SCSUW.The KBW is a high temperature(core value of 26.36℃)and high salinity(core value of 34.62)water mass located southeast of the Taiwan Bank and partially in the central Taiwan Strait. 展开更多

Fuzziness or uncertainties arise due to insufficient knowledge, experimental errors, operating conditions and parameters that provide inaccurate information. The concepts of susceptible, infectious and recovered are uncertain due to the different degrees in susceptibility, infectivity and recovery among the individuals of the population. The differences can arise, when the population groups under the consideration having distinct habits, customs and different age groups have different degrees of resistance, etc.More realistic models are needed which consider these different degrees of susceptibility infectivity and recovery of the individuals. In this paper,a Susceptible,Infected and Recovered(SIR)epidemic model with fuzzy parameters is discussed. The infection, recovery and death rates due to the disease are considered as fuzzy numbers.Fuzzy basic reproduction number and fuzzy equilibrium points have been derived for the studied model.Themodel is then solved numerically with three different techniques, forward Euler,Runge-Kutta fourth order method(RK-4)and the nonstandard finite difference(NSFD)methods respectively. The NSFD technique becomes more efficient and reliable among the others and preserves all the essential features of a continuous dynamical system. 展开更多

A frequency-domain-based sufficient condition is derived to guarantee the globally asymptotic stability of the simplest Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy control system by using the circle criterion. The analysis is performed in the frequency domain, and hence the condition is of great significance when the frequency-response method, which is widely used in the linear control theory and practice, is employed to synthesize the simplest T-S fuzzy controller. Besides, this sufficient condition is featured by a graphical interpretation, which makes the condition straightforward to be used. Comparisons are drawn between the performance of the simplest T-S fuzzy controller and that of the linear compensator. Two numerical examples are presented to demonstrate how this sufficient condition can be applied to both stable and unstable plants. 展开更多

A new approach of glacier classification is suggested on the basis of fuzzy cluster analysis of cations in ice cores. Cations in an ice core act as a synthetic index to refelect both the local and the global climate. Fuzzy cluster analysis of long time series data of cations in ice cores from five representative glacial ice cores (from south to north) has been used to create a similarity scale matrix R among these glaciers. Accordingly, any change in R represents a change in environment and climate. This type of analysis can determine the relativity of samples (glaciers) according to a cluster level ( λ ). Fuzzy cluster analysis of cations in ice cores collected from Antarctica and the Qinghai Tibetan Plateau indicates drastic difference between glaciers of these two regions. 展开更多

Turbulent motion could be regarded as the superposition of fluctuations with different scales. It's of great theoretical and practical importance to determine the classification of turbulent scales quantitatively to the better description of vortex motions with different scales, and to the research of the interaction among different sclaes of vortex and the construction of better turbulent models. The mathematical method, which carries out the classification on a certain requirement, is called cluster analysis. In this paper, fuzzy cluster analysis method is used to study the classification of turbulent scales quantitatively in smooth and rough wall boundary conditions. Furthermore, the properties and interactions among all kinds of flow structures are also studied. The results are helpful to gain some insight into the properties and interactions of all kinds of turbulent scales in wall turbulent shear flow. 展开更多

The thermal-induced error is a very important sour ce of machining errors of machine tools. To compensate the thermal-induced machin ing errors, a relationship model between the thermal field and deformations was needed. The relationship can be deduced by virtual of FEM (Finite Element Method ), ANN (Artificial Neural Network) or MRA (Multiple Regression Analysis). MR A is on the basis of a total understanding of the temperature distribution of th e machine tool. Although the more the temperatures measured are, the more accura te the MRA is, too more temperatures will hinder the analysis calculation. So it is necessary to identify the key temperatures of the machine tool. The selectio n of key temperatures decides the efficiency and precision of MRA. Because of th e complexities and multi-input and multi-output structure of the relationships , the exact quantitative portions as well as the unclear portions must be taken into consideration together to improve the identification of key temperatures. I n this paper, a fuzzy cluster analysis was used to select the key temperatures. The substance of identifying the key temperatures is to group all temperatures b y their relativity, and then to select a temperature from each group as the repr esentation. A fuzzy cluster analysis can uncover the relationships between t he thermal field and deformations more truly and thoroughly. A fuzzy cluster ana lysis is the cluster analysis based on fuzzy sets. Given U={u i|i=0,...,N}, in which u i is the temperature measured, a fuzzy matrix R can be obta ined. The transfer close package t(R) can be deduced from R. A fuzzy clu ster of U then conducts on the basis of t(R). Based on the fuzzy cluster analysis discussed above, this paper identified the k ey temperatures of a horizontal machining center. The number of the temperatures measured was reduced to 4 from 32, and then the multiple regression relationshi p models between the 4 temperatures and the thermal deformations of the spindle were drawn. The remnant errors between the regression models and measured deform ations reached a satisfying low level. At the same time, the decreasing of tempe rature variable number improved the efficiency of measure and analysis greatly. 展开更多
