Efficient and secure refueling within the vehicle refueling systems exhibits a close correlation with the issues concerning fuel backflow and gasoline evaporation.This paper investigates the transient flow behavior in...Efficient and secure refueling within the vehicle refueling systems exhibits a close correlation with the issues concerning fuel backflow and gasoline evaporation.This paper investigates the transient flow behavior in fuel hose refilling and simplified tank fuel replenishment using the volume of fluid method.The numerical simulation is validated with the simplified hose refilling experiment and the evaporation simulation of Stefan tube.The effects of injection flow rate and injection directions have been discussed in the fuel hose refilling part.For both the experiment and simulation,the pressure at the end of the refueling pipe in the lower located nozzle case is 30%higher than that in the upper located nozzle case at a high flow rate,and the backflow phenomenon occurs at the lower filling mode.The fluid will directly flush into the first pipe elbow,changing the flow pattern from bubble flow to slug flow,which results in low-frequency and high-amplitude flowpressure fluctuations.Ahexane refueling system,consisting of a refueling pipe,fuel tank and a vapor return line,is analyzed,in which hexane evaporation is considered.At the early refueling period,a higher refueling rate will lead to more obvious splashing,which leads to a higher average mass of hexane vapor and pressure in the tank.Two optimized fuel tank designs are examined.The lower fuel tank filling port exhibits significantly lower vapor hexane in the fuel tank compared to the other design,resulting in a reduction of 200 Pa in the peak pressure in the tank,which contributes to a substantial reduction of gasoline loss during tank filling.展开更多
Modern aircraft tend to use fuel thermal management systems to cool onboard heat sources.However,the design of heat transfer architectures for fuel thermal management systems relies on the experience of the engineers ...Modern aircraft tend to use fuel thermal management systems to cool onboard heat sources.However,the design of heat transfer architectures for fuel thermal management systems relies on the experience of the engineers and lacks theoretical guidance.This paper proposes a concise graph representation method based on graph theory for fuel thermal management systems,which can represent all possible connections between subsystems.A generalized optimization algorithm is proposed for fuel thermal management system architecture to minimize the heat sink.This algorithm can autonomously arrange subsystems with heat production differences and efficiently utilize the architecture of the fuel heat sink.At the same time,two evaluation indices are proposed from the perspective of subsystems.These indices intuitively and clearly show that the reason for the high efficiency of heat sink utilization is the balanced and moderate cooling of each subsystem and verify the rationality of the architecture optimization method.A set of simulations are also conducted,which demonstrate that the fuel tank temperature has no effect on the performance of the architecture.This paper provides a reference for the architectural design of aircraft fuel thermal management systems.The metrics used in this paper can also be utilized to evaluate the existing architecture.展开更多

The compact torus injector(CTI)for the central fueling of the EAST tokamak has undergone significant upgrades to enhance its injection capability.During the initial phase of the platform testing phase,EAST-CTI demonst...The compact torus injector(CTI)for the central fueling of the EAST tokamak has undergone significant upgrades to enhance its injection capability.During the initial phase of the platform testing phase,EAST-CTI demonstrated relatively low performance,with a maximum velocity of 150 km s^(−1) and a single compact torus(CT)plasma mass of 90μg[Kong D et al 2023 Plasma Sci.Technol.25065601].These parameters were insufficient for conducting central fueling experiments on the EAST tokamak.Consequently,extensive upgrades were carried out to improve the performance of the EAST-CTI system.The compression region was extended from 280 mm to 700 mm to prevent rapid compression and deceleration of the CT plasma,along with an extension of the acceleration region to further increase the plasma acceleration.The power supply system has also been upgraded.These improvements elevated the operating voltage from 8 kV to 15 kV,increased the discharge current from 120 kA to 300 kA and enabled repetitive operation at a maximum rate of 2 Hz.As a result,significant advances in EAST-CTI performance were achieved,with the maximum velocity increasing to 330 km s^(−1) and the CT plasma density reaching 1.5×10^(22) m^(−3),thereby enhancing the system capability for future fueling experiments on EAST.This study offers valuable insights into CTI modification and the improvement of central fueling systems for prospective fusion reactors.展开更多
Proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) provide an appealing sustainable energy system,with the solid-electrolyte membrane playing a crucial role in its overall performance.Currently,sulfonated poly(1,4-phenylene...Proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) provide an appealing sustainable energy system,with the solid-electrolyte membrane playing a crucial role in its overall performance.Currently,sulfonated poly(1,4-phenylene ether-ether sulfone)(SPEES),an aromatic hydrocarbon polymer,has garnered considerable attention as an alternative to Nafion polymers.However,the long-term durability and stability of SPEES present a significant challenge.In this context,we introduce a potential solution in the form of an additive,specifically a core–shell-based amine-functionalized iron titanate (A–Fe_(2)TiO_(5)),which holds promise for improving the lifetime,proton conductivity,and power density of SPEES in PEMFCs.The modified SPEES/A–Fe_(2)TiO_(5)composite membranes exhibited notable characteristics,including high water uptake,enhanced thermomechanical stability,and oxidative stability.Notably,the SPEES membrane loaded with 1.2 wt%of A–Fe_(2)TiO_(5)demonstrates a maximum proton conductivity of 155 mS ccm^(-1),a twofold increase compared to the SPEES membrane,at 80°C under 100%relative humidity (RH).Furthermore,the 1.2 wt%of A–Fe_(2)TiO_(5)/SPEES composite membranes exhibited a maximum power density of 397.37 mW cm^(-2)and a current density of 1148 mA cm^(-2)at 60°C under 100%RH,with an opencircuit voltage decay of 0.05 m V/h during 103 h of continuous operation.This study offers significant insights into the development and understanding of innovative SPEES nanocomposite membranes for PEMFC applications.展开更多
The growing presence of emerging pollutants in the environment has led to a focus on developing new treatment technologies to address the limitations of traditional methods.Recent advancements in combining photocataly...The growing presence of emerging pollutants in the environment has led to a focus on developing new treatment technologies to address the limitations of traditional methods.Recent advancements in combining photocatalysis with biodegradation for pollutant treatment have garnered significant attention.This is due to the rapid and uncontrolled chemical reactions in single photocatalytic processes,which often result in the buildup of harmful by-products and over-oxidation residues.Additionally,relying solely on biodegradation is challenging for breaking down emerging pollutants that possess high concentrations and intricate structures.Therefore,the intimately coupled photocatalysis and biodegradation(ICPB)systems,along with the photocatalytic microbial fuel cells(PMFCs),as a new approach to treat pollutants.These systems combine the benefits of biodegradation and photocatalytic reactions,providing cost-effective,eco-friendly,and sustainable solutions with significant promise.In order to demonstrate the ICPB system and the PMFCs system as rational options for pollutant removal,the mechanisms of pollutant degradation by the two systems have been analyzed in depth,and recent advances in photocatalysts,biofilms,and carriers/configurations in the two systems have been summarized.Furthermore,the practical applications of the ICPB system versus the PMFCs system for pollutant removal are also summarized and highlighted.This review further points out the current limitations,such as photocatalytic materials that are still challenging in terms of commercial viability for practical applications,and looks forward to the prospects of the ICPB system versus the PMFCs system for the treatment of pollutants to promote practical applications.展开更多
Natural gas hydrate(NGH),as a widely recognized clean energy,has shown a significant resource potential.However,due to the lack of a unified evaluation methodology and the difficult determination of key parameters,the...Natural gas hydrate(NGH),as a widely recognized clean energy,has shown a significant resource potential.However,due to the lack of a unified evaluation methodology and the difficult determination of key parameters,the evaluation results of global NGH resource are greatly different.This paper establishes a quantitative relationship between NGH resource potential and conventional oil and gas resource and a NGH resource evaluation model based on the whole petroleum system(WPS)and through the analysis of dynamic field controlling hydrocarbon accumulation.The global NGH initially in-place and recoverable resources are inverted through the Monte Carlo simulation,and verified by using the volume analogy method based on drilling results and the trend analysis method of previous evaluation results.The proposed evaluation model considers two genetic mechanisms of natural gas(biological degradation and thermal degradation),surface volume conversion factor difference between conventional natural gas and NGH,and the impacts of differences in favorable distribution area and thickness and in other aspects on the results of NGH resource evaluation.The study shows that the global NGH initially in-place and recoverable resources are 99×10^(12) m^(3) and 30×10^(12) m3,with averages of 214×10^(12) m^(3) and 68×10^(12) m^(3),respectively,less than 5% of the total conventional oil and gas resources,and they can be used as a supplement for the future energy of the world.The proposed NGH resource evaluation model creates a new option of evaluation method and technology,and generates reliable data of NGH resource according to the reliability comprehensive analysis and test,providing a parameter basis for subsequent NGH exploration and development.展开更多
As the demands for environmental sustainability and the requirements to lower carbon emissions have escalated,New Energy Vehicles(NEVs)have emerged as a compelling substitute for fossil-fuel-run automobiles.Hence,a sm...As the demands for environmental sustainability and the requirements to lower carbon emissions have escalated,New Energy Vehicles(NEVs)have emerged as a compelling substitute for fossil-fuel-run automobiles.Hence,a smart energy management strategy has been developed to enhance the performance of NEVs,maximizing the sustainability of transportation systems and minimizing environmental impacts.The system combines different power reserves,includ-ing a photovoltaic(PV)generator,fuel cell(FC),and battery system,to provide a continuous energy supply,even when the vehicle is running.The Multi-Directional Power Transfer converter for the battery provides the required energy ad-aptation between the input and output.The FC and PV systems are all connected through a direct current/direct current converter to effectively charge the battery whenever excess energy is present.The new energy management technique called Optimized Ant Colony Algorithm is proposed to dynamically allocate power among the different power sources,improving system efficiency.Unlike traditional methods,the suggested approach actively optimizes energy flow accord-ing to actual demand and availability,minimizing energy losses and enhancing sustainability.The MATLAB/Simulink tool was used to simulate the energetic performance of an electric car utilizing the suggested approach.The performance of this multi-source power system is assessed by contrasting the energy the PV and FC generating devices offer,and the energy generation of each recharge system.Additionally,the battery power comparison validates the cost-effectiveness and sustainability of the proposed model in NEVs.Results designate a significant improvement in energy efficiency and overall NEV environmental sustainability within contemporary transportation networks.展开更多

The intelligent driver model was first modified to simulate the ACC system and it was calibrated by using empirical traffic data. Then, a five-step procedure based on the vehicle-specific power was introduced to calculate fuel efficiency. Five scenarios with different ACC ratios were tested in simulation experiments, and sensitivity analyses of two key ACC factors affecting the perception-reaction time and time headway were also conducted. The simulation results indicate that all the scenarios with ACC vehicles have positive impacts on reducing fuel consumption. Furthermore, from the perspective of fuel efficiency, the extremely small value of the perception-reaction time of the ACC system is not necessary due to the fact that the value of 0.5 and 0.1 s can almost lead to the same reduction in fuel consumption. Finally, the designed time headway of the ACC system is also proposed to be large enough for fuel efficiency, although its small value can increase capacity. The findings of this study provide useful information for connected vehicles and autonomous vehicle manufacturers to improve fuel efficiency on roadways.展开更多

Ship operations are crucial to global trade,and their decarbonization is essential to mitigate climate change.This study evaluates the economic viability of existing and emerging decarbonization technologies in mariti...Ship operations are crucial to global trade,and their decarbonization is essential to mitigate climate change.This study evaluates the economic viability of existing and emerging decarbonization technologies in maritime shipping using the levelized cost of energy methodology.It includes a detailed comparative analysis based on essential criteria and sensitivity assessments to highlight the economic impacts of technological advancements.Key factors influencing total costs include fuel costs,carbon pricing,and energy demands for carbon capture.The findings reveal that methanol is more cost-effective than heavy fuel oil(HFO)when priced below 3000 CNY/t,assuming HFO costs 4400 CNY/t.Additionally,methanol with post-combustion carbon capture is less expensive than pre-combustion carbon capture.When carbon prices rise above 480 CNY/t,carbon capture technologies prove more economical than purchasing carbon emission allowances for HFO and liquefied natural gas.Enhanc-ing the use of exhaust gas waste heat is recommended for cost savings.Post-combustion carbon capture also shows greater efficiency,requiring about 1.1 GJ/t less energy than pre-combustion methods,leading to lower overall costs.Future research should focus on market mechanisms to stabilize fuel prices and develop less energy-intensive carbon capture technologies.This study offers critical insights into effective decarbonization strategies for advancing global maritime trade in the present and future.展开更多
The development of Pt-free catalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)is a great issue for meeting the cost challenges of proton exchange membrane fuel cells(PEMFCs)in commercial applications.In this work,a serie...The development of Pt-free catalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)is a great issue for meeting the cost challenges of proton exchange membrane fuel cells(PEMFCs)in commercial applications.In this work,a series of RuCo/C catalysts were synthesized by NaBH4 reduction method under the premise that the total metal mass percentage was 20%.X-ray diffraction(XRD)patterns and scanning electron microscopy(SEM)confirmed the formation of single-phase nanoparticles with an average size of 33 nm.Cyclic voltammograms(CV)and linear sweep voltammograms(LSV)tests indicated that RuCo(2:1)/C catalyst had the optimal ORR properties.Additionally,the RuCo(2:1)/C catalyst remarkably sustained 98.1% of its activity even after 3000 cycles,surpassing the performance of Pt/C(84.8%).Analysis of the elemental state of the catalyst surface after cycling using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)revealed that the Ru^(0) percentage of RuCo(2:1)/C decreased by 2.2%(from 66.3% to 64.1%),while the Pt^(0) percentage of Pt/C decreased by 7.1%(from 53.3% to 46.2%).It is suggested that the synergy between Ru and Co holds the potential to pave the way for future low-cost and highly stable ORR catalysts,offering significant promise in the context of PEMFCs.展开更多

This study focused on improving the cathode performance of Ba_(0.6)Sr_(0.4)Co_(0.85)Nb_(0.15)O_(3-δ)(BSCN)-based perovskite materials through molybdenum(Mo)doping.Pure BSCN and Mo-modified-BSCN—Ea_(0.6)Sr_(0.4)Co_(0...This study focused on improving the cathode performance of Ba_(0.6)Sr_(0.4)Co_(0.85)Nb_(0.15)O_(3-δ)(BSCN)-based perovskite materials through molybdenum(Mo)doping.Pure BSCN and Mo-modified-BSCN—Ea_(0.6)Sr_(0.4)Co_(0.85)Nb_(0.1)Mo_(0.05)O_(3-δ)(B S CNM_(0.05)),Ba_(0.6)Sr_(0.4)Co_(0.85)Nb_(0.05)Mo_(0.1)O_(3-δ)(BSCNM_(0.1)),and Ba_(0.6)Sr_(0.4)Co_(0.85)Mo_(0.15)O_(3-δ)(BSCM)—with Mo doping contents of 5mol%,10mol%,and15mol%,respectively,were successfully prepared using the sol-gel method.The effects of Mo doping on the crystal structure,conductivity,thermal expansion coefficient,oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)activity,and electrochemical performance were systematically evaluated using X-ray diffraction analysis,thermally induced characterization,electrochemical impedance spectroscopy,and single-cell performance tests.The results revealed that Mo doping could improve the conductivity of the materials,suppress their thermal expansion effects,and significantly improve the electrochemical performance.Surface chemical state analysis using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy revealed that 5mol%Mo doping could facilitate a high adsorbed oxygen concentration leading to enhanced ORR activity in the materials.Density functional theory calculations confirmed that Mo doping promoted the ORR activity in the materials.At an operating temperature of 600℃,the BSCNM_(0.05)cathode material exhibited significantly enhanced electrochemical impedance characteristics,with a reduced area specific resistance of 0.048Ω·cm~2,which was lower than that of the undoped BSCN matrix material by 32.39%.At the same operating temperature,an anode-supported single cell using a BSCNM_(0.05)cathode achieved a peak power density of 1477 mW·cm^(-2),which was 30.71%,56.30%,and 171.50%higher than those of BSCN,BSCNM_(0.1),and B SCM,respectively.The improved ORR activity and electrochemical performance of BSCNM_(0.05)indicate that it can be used as a cathode material in low-temperature solid oxide fuel cells.展开更多
Subcritical reactors(SCRs)or subcritical assemblies(SCAs)are the main infrastructure for designing power reactors.These reactors are widely used for training and research because of their high level of inherent safety...Subcritical reactors(SCRs)or subcritical assemblies(SCAs)are the main infrastructure for designing power reactors.These reactors are widely used for training and research because of their high level of inherent safety.The objective of this study is to design a subcritical reactor using a pressurized water reactor(PWR)conventional fuel following two safety points.In the first approach,deeply placed SCR cores with an infinite multiplication factor(k_(∞))of less than unity were identified using the DRAGON lattice code.In the second approach,subcritical reactor cores with an effective multiplication factor(k_(eff))of less than unity were determined by coupling the cell calculations of the DRAGON lattice code and core calculations of the DONJON code.For the deeply subcritical reactor design,it was found that the reactor would remain inherently subcritical while using fuel rods with ^(235)U enrichment of up to 0.9%,regardless of the pitch of the fuel rods.In the second approach,the optimal pitches(1.3 to 2.3 cm)were determined for different fuel enrichment values from 1 to 5%.Subsequently,the k_(eff) was obtained for a fuel rod arrangement of 8×8 to 80×80,and the states in which the reactor would be subcritical were determined for different fuel enrichments at the corresponding optimal pitch.To validate the models used in the DRAGON and DONJON codes,the k_(eff) of the Isfahan Light Water Subcritical Reactor(LWSCR)was experimentally measured and compared with the results of the calculations.Finally,the effects of fuel and moderator temperature changes were investigated to ensure that the designed assemblies remained in the subcritical state at all operational temperatures.展开更多

Experiments were conducted to investigate the influences of different operating parameters on the inerting effectiveness of the system, including flow rate of the inert gas (nitrogen-enriched air), inert gas concentration, fuel load of the tank and different inerting approaches. The experimental results show that under the same operating conditions, the time span of a complete inerting process decreased as the flow rate of inert gas was increased; the time span using the inert gas with 5% oxygen concentration was much longer than that using pure nitrogen; when the fuel tank was inerted using the ullage washing approach, the time span increased as the fuel load was decreased; the ullage washing approach showed the best inerting performance when the time span of a complete inerting process was the evaluation criterion, but when the decrease of dissolved oxygen concentration in the fuel was also considered to characterize the inerting effective- ness, the approach of ullage washing and fuel scrubbing at the same time was the most effective.展开更多
文摘In the ever fusion experiments in SWIP, pellet forming process was carried out through adjusting relative devices by staff member in site, which will make every pellet-forming process slight distinction and will result in pellet difference in shape, size and intensity. In the intervals of HL-2A discharges, staff member have to go site to accomplish the pellet-forming process, this wastes human power and increase the potential danger. So it is necessary to develop a remote control system to perform the pellet-forming process. The control system needs have the features of real-time, reliability and be easy to operate and maintain.

文摘Efficient and secure refueling within the vehicle refueling systems exhibits a close correlation with the issues concerning fuel backflow and gasoline evaporation.This paper investigates the transient flow behavior in fuel hose refilling and simplified tank fuel replenishment using the volume of fluid method.The numerical simulation is validated with the simplified hose refilling experiment and the evaporation simulation of Stefan tube.The effects of injection flow rate and injection directions have been discussed in the fuel hose refilling part.For both the experiment and simulation,the pressure at the end of the refueling pipe in the lower located nozzle case is 30%higher than that in the upper located nozzle case at a high flow rate,and the backflow phenomenon occurs at the lower filling mode.The fluid will directly flush into the first pipe elbow,changing the flow pattern from bubble flow to slug flow,which results in low-frequency and high-amplitude flowpressure fluctuations.Ahexane refueling system,consisting of a refueling pipe,fuel tank and a vapor return line,is analyzed,in which hexane evaporation is considered.At the early refueling period,a higher refueling rate will lead to more obvious splashing,which leads to a higher average mass of hexane vapor and pressure in the tank.Two optimized fuel tank designs are examined.The lower fuel tank filling port exhibits significantly lower vapor hexane in the fuel tank compared to the other design,resulting in a reduction of 200 Pa in the peak pressure in the tank,which contributes to a substantial reduction of gasoline loss during tank filling.
文摘Modern aircraft tend to use fuel thermal management systems to cool onboard heat sources.However,the design of heat transfer architectures for fuel thermal management systems relies on the experience of the engineers and lacks theoretical guidance.This paper proposes a concise graph representation method based on graph theory for fuel thermal management systems,which can represent all possible connections between subsystems.A generalized optimization algorithm is proposed for fuel thermal management system architecture to minimize the heat sink.This algorithm can autonomously arrange subsystems with heat production differences and efficiently utilize the architecture of the fuel heat sink.At the same time,two evaluation indices are proposed from the perspective of subsystems.These indices intuitively and clearly show that the reason for the high efficiency of heat sink utilization is the balanced and moderate cooling of each subsystem and verify the rationality of the architecture optimization method.A set of simulations are also conducted,which demonstrate that the fuel tank temperature has no effect on the performance of the architecture.This paper provides a reference for the architectural design of aircraft fuel thermal management systems.The metrics used in this paper can also be utilized to evaluate the existing architecture.

文摘When the proton exchange membrane fuel cell(PEMFC)system is running,there will be a condition that does not require power output for a short time.In order to achieve zero power output under low power consumption,it is necessary to consider the diversity of control targets and the complexity of dynamic models,which brings the challenge of high-precision tracking control of the stack output power and cathode intake flow.For system idle speed control,a modelbased nonlinear control framework is constructed in this paper.Firstly,the nonlinear dynamic model of output power and cathode intake flow is derived.Secondly,a control scheme combining nonlinear extended Kalman filter observer and state feedback controller is designed.Finally,the control scheme is verified on the PEMFC experimental platform and compared with the proportion-integration-differentiation(PID)controller.The experimental results show that the control strategy proposed in this paper can realize the idle speed control of the fuel cell system and achieve the purpose of zero power output.Compared with PID controller,it has faster response speed and better system dynamics.

文摘The compact torus injector(CTI)for the central fueling of the EAST tokamak has undergone significant upgrades to enhance its injection capability.During the initial phase of the platform testing phase,EAST-CTI demonstrated relatively low performance,with a maximum velocity of 150 km s^(−1) and a single compact torus(CT)plasma mass of 90μg[Kong D et al 2023 Plasma Sci.Technol.25065601].These parameters were insufficient for conducting central fueling experiments on the EAST tokamak.Consequently,extensive upgrades were carried out to improve the performance of the EAST-CTI system.The compression region was extended from 280 mm to 700 mm to prevent rapid compression and deceleration of the CT plasma,along with an extension of the acceleration region to further increase the plasma acceleration.The power supply system has also been upgraded.These improvements elevated the operating voltage from 8 kV to 15 kV,increased the discharge current from 120 kA to 300 kA and enabled repetitive operation at a maximum rate of 2 Hz.As a result,significant advances in EAST-CTI performance were achieved,with the maximum velocity increasing to 330 km s^(−1) and the CT plasma density reaching 1.5×10^(22) m^(−3),thereby enhancing the system capability for future fueling experiments on EAST.This study offers valuable insights into CTI modification and the improvement of central fueling systems for prospective fusion reactors.

文摘Proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) provide an appealing sustainable energy system,with the solid-electrolyte membrane playing a crucial role in its overall performance.Currently,sulfonated poly(1,4-phenylene ether-ether sulfone)(SPEES),an aromatic hydrocarbon polymer,has garnered considerable attention as an alternative to Nafion polymers.However,the long-term durability and stability of SPEES present a significant challenge.In this context,we introduce a potential solution in the form of an additive,specifically a core–shell-based amine-functionalized iron titanate (A–Fe_(2)TiO_(5)),which holds promise for improving the lifetime,proton conductivity,and power density of SPEES in PEMFCs.The modified SPEES/A–Fe_(2)TiO_(5)composite membranes exhibited notable characteristics,including high water uptake,enhanced thermomechanical stability,and oxidative stability.Notably,the SPEES membrane loaded with 1.2 wt%of A–Fe_(2)TiO_(5)demonstrates a maximum proton conductivity of 155 mS ccm^(-1),a twofold increase compared to the SPEES membrane,at 80°C under 100%relative humidity (RH).Furthermore,the 1.2 wt%of A–Fe_(2)TiO_(5)/SPEES composite membranes exhibited a maximum power density of 397.37 mW cm^(-2)and a current density of 1148 mA cm^(-2)at 60°C under 100%RH,with an opencircuit voltage decay of 0.05 m V/h during 103 h of continuous operation.This study offers significant insights into the development and understanding of innovative SPEES nanocomposite membranes for PEMFC applications.
文摘The growing presence of emerging pollutants in the environment has led to a focus on developing new treatment technologies to address the limitations of traditional methods.Recent advancements in combining photocatalysis with biodegradation for pollutant treatment have garnered significant attention.This is due to the rapid and uncontrolled chemical reactions in single photocatalytic processes,which often result in the buildup of harmful by-products and over-oxidation residues.Additionally,relying solely on biodegradation is challenging for breaking down emerging pollutants that possess high concentrations and intricate structures.Therefore,the intimately coupled photocatalysis and biodegradation(ICPB)systems,along with the photocatalytic microbial fuel cells(PMFCs),as a new approach to treat pollutants.These systems combine the benefits of biodegradation and photocatalytic reactions,providing cost-effective,eco-friendly,and sustainable solutions with significant promise.In order to demonstrate the ICPB system and the PMFCs system as rational options for pollutant removal,the mechanisms of pollutant degradation by the two systems have been analyzed in depth,and recent advances in photocatalysts,biofilms,and carriers/configurations in the two systems have been summarized.Furthermore,the practical applications of the ICPB system versus the PMFCs system for pollutant removal are also summarized and highlighted.This review further points out the current limitations,such as photocatalytic materials that are still challenging in terms of commercial viability for practical applications,and looks forward to the prospects of the ICPB system versus the PMFCs system for the treatment of pollutants to promote practical applications.

文摘Natural gas hydrate(NGH),as a widely recognized clean energy,has shown a significant resource potential.However,due to the lack of a unified evaluation methodology and the difficult determination of key parameters,the evaluation results of global NGH resource are greatly different.This paper establishes a quantitative relationship between NGH resource potential and conventional oil and gas resource and a NGH resource evaluation model based on the whole petroleum system(WPS)and through the analysis of dynamic field controlling hydrocarbon accumulation.The global NGH initially in-place and recoverable resources are inverted through the Monte Carlo simulation,and verified by using the volume analogy method based on drilling results and the trend analysis method of previous evaluation results.The proposed evaluation model considers two genetic mechanisms of natural gas(biological degradation and thermal degradation),surface volume conversion factor difference between conventional natural gas and NGH,and the impacts of differences in favorable distribution area and thickness and in other aspects on the results of NGH resource evaluation.The study shows that the global NGH initially in-place and recoverable resources are 99×10^(12) m^(3) and 30×10^(12) m3,with averages of 214×10^(12) m^(3) and 68×10^(12) m^(3),respectively,less than 5% of the total conventional oil and gas resources,and they can be used as a supplement for the future energy of the world.The proposed NGH resource evaluation model creates a new option of evaluation method and technology,and generates reliable data of NGH resource according to the reliability comprehensive analysis and test,providing a parameter basis for subsequent NGH exploration and development.
文摘As the demands for environmental sustainability and the requirements to lower carbon emissions have escalated,New Energy Vehicles(NEVs)have emerged as a compelling substitute for fossil-fuel-run automobiles.Hence,a smart energy management strategy has been developed to enhance the performance of NEVs,maximizing the sustainability of transportation systems and minimizing environmental impacts.The system combines different power reserves,includ-ing a photovoltaic(PV)generator,fuel cell(FC),and battery system,to provide a continuous energy supply,even when the vehicle is running.The Multi-Directional Power Transfer converter for the battery provides the required energy ad-aptation between the input and output.The FC and PV systems are all connected through a direct current/direct current converter to effectively charge the battery whenever excess energy is present.The new energy management technique called Optimized Ant Colony Algorithm is proposed to dynamically allocate power among the different power sources,improving system efficiency.Unlike traditional methods,the suggested approach actively optimizes energy flow accord-ing to actual demand and availability,minimizing energy losses and enhancing sustainability.The MATLAB/Simulink tool was used to simulate the energetic performance of an electric car utilizing the suggested approach.The performance of this multi-source power system is assessed by contrasting the energy the PV and FC generating devices offer,and the energy generation of each recharge system.Additionally,the battery power comparison validates the cost-effectiveness and sustainability of the proposed model in NEVs.Results designate a significant improvement in energy efficiency and overall NEV environmental sustainability within contemporary transportation networks.

文摘The impact of the adaptive cruise control( ACC)system on improving fuel efficiency is evaluated based on the vehicle-specific power. The intelligent driver model was first modified to simulate the ACC system and it was calibrated by using empirical traffic data. Then, a five-step procedure based on the vehicle-specific power was introduced to calculate fuel efficiency. Five scenarios with different ACC ratios were tested in simulation experiments, and sensitivity analyses of two key ACC factors affecting the perception-reaction time and time headway were also conducted. The simulation results indicate that all the scenarios with ACC vehicles have positive impacts on reducing fuel consumption. Furthermore, from the perspective of fuel efficiency, the extremely small value of the perception-reaction time of the ACC system is not necessary due to the fact that the value of 0.5 and 0.1 s can almost lead to the same reduction in fuel consumption. Finally, the designed time headway of the ACC system is also proposed to be large enough for fuel efficiency, although its small value can increase capacity. The findings of this study provide useful information for connected vehicles and autonomous vehicle manufacturers to improve fuel efficiency on roadways.
文摘In order to improve the diesel engine emission performance and convert the diesel engine to dual fuel engine, a dual fuel (diesel and compressed natural gas (CNG)) electronic system was developed, in which electromagnetic valves were used to control multi point natural gas injection. The system was designed for type F6L912Q diesel engine and the function of the system was testified on test cell. The test results showed that the system had great advantages in power ability and emission performance. The average CNG substitution at rated load was over 80%. The dual fuel system was practical. To adopt dual fuel system was a good way to improve the engine's emission performance.

文摘Ship operations are crucial to global trade,and their decarbonization is essential to mitigate climate change.This study evaluates the economic viability of existing and emerging decarbonization technologies in maritime shipping using the levelized cost of energy methodology.It includes a detailed comparative analysis based on essential criteria and sensitivity assessments to highlight the economic impacts of technological advancements.Key factors influencing total costs include fuel costs,carbon pricing,and energy demands for carbon capture.The findings reveal that methanol is more cost-effective than heavy fuel oil(HFO)when priced below 3000 CNY/t,assuming HFO costs 4400 CNY/t.Additionally,methanol with post-combustion carbon capture is less expensive than pre-combustion carbon capture.When carbon prices rise above 480 CNY/t,carbon capture technologies prove more economical than purchasing carbon emission allowances for HFO and liquefied natural gas.Enhanc-ing the use of exhaust gas waste heat is recommended for cost savings.Post-combustion carbon capture also shows greater efficiency,requiring about 1.1 GJ/t less energy than pre-combustion methods,leading to lower overall costs.Future research should focus on market mechanisms to stabilize fuel prices and develop less energy-intensive carbon capture technologies.This study offers critical insights into effective decarbonization strategies for advancing global maritime trade in the present and future.

文摘The development of Pt-free catalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)is a great issue for meeting the cost challenges of proton exchange membrane fuel cells(PEMFCs)in commercial applications.In this work,a series of RuCo/C catalysts were synthesized by NaBH4 reduction method under the premise that the total metal mass percentage was 20%.X-ray diffraction(XRD)patterns and scanning electron microscopy(SEM)confirmed the formation of single-phase nanoparticles with an average size of 33 nm.Cyclic voltammograms(CV)and linear sweep voltammograms(LSV)tests indicated that RuCo(2:1)/C catalyst had the optimal ORR properties.Additionally,the RuCo(2:1)/C catalyst remarkably sustained 98.1% of its activity even after 3000 cycles,surpassing the performance of Pt/C(84.8%).Analysis of the elemental state of the catalyst surface after cycling using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)revealed that the Ru^(0) percentage of RuCo(2:1)/C decreased by 2.2%(from 66.3% to 64.1%),while the Pt^(0) percentage of Pt/C decreased by 7.1%(from 53.3% to 46.2%).It is suggested that the synergy between Ru and Co holds the potential to pave the way for future low-cost and highly stable ORR catalysts,offering significant promise in the context of PEMFCs.
文摘To ensure the safe transportation of radioactive materials,numerous countries have established specific standards.For the transfer of fissile materials,it is imperative that the material within the packaging remains in a subcritical state during routine,normal,and accidental transport conditions.In the event of an accident,the rods within the storage tank may become rearranged,introducing uncertainty that must be accounted for to ensure that criticality analysis results are conservative.Historically,this uncertainty was addressed overly conservatively due to limited research on non-uniform arrangement scenarios,which proved unsuitable for criticality safety analysis of spent fuel packages.This paper introduced three distinct methods to non-uniformly rearrange fuel rods—Uniform Arrangement by Blocks,Layer-by-Layer Determination,and Birdcage Deformation—and meticulously evaluates the influences of rod rearrangement on the effective multiplication factor of neutrons,k eff,utilizing the Monte Carlo method.Ultimately,this study presents a holistic method capable of encompassing the entire spectrum of potential effects stemming from the rearrangement of fuel rods during rods mispositioning accident.By augmenting the safety margin,this approach proves to be adeptly suited for the criticality safety analysis of nuclear fuel transport containers.

文摘3D printing,as a versatile additive manufacturing technique,offers high design flexibility,rapid prototyping,minimal material waste,and the capability to fabricate complex,customized geometries.These attributes make it particularly well-suited for low-temperature hydrogen electrochemical conversion devices—specifically,proton exchange membrane fuel cells,proton exchange membrane electrolyzer cells,anion exchange membrane electrolyzer cells,and alkaline electrolyzers—which demand finely structured components such as catalyst layers,gas diffusion layers,electrodes,porous transport layers,and bipolar plates.This review provides a focused and critical summary of the current progress in applying 3D printing technologies to these key components.It begins with a concise introduction to the principles and classifications of mainstream 3D printing methods relevant to the hydrogen energy sector and proceeds to analyze their specific applications and performance impacts across different device architectures.Finally,the review identifies existing technical challenges and outlines future research directions to accelerate the integration of 3D printing in nextgeneration low-temperature hydrogen energy systems.

文摘Pre-chamber ignition technology can address the issue of uneven in-cylinder mixture combustion in large-bore marine engines.The impact of various pre-chamber structures on the formation of the mixture and jet flames within the pre-chamber is explored.This study performed numerical simulations on a large-bore marine ammonia/hydrogen pre-chamber engine prototype,considering pre-chamber volume,throat diameter,the distance between the hydrogen injector and the spark plug,and the hydrogen injector angle.Compared with the original engine,when the pre-chamber volume is 73.4 ml,the throat diameter is 14 mm,the distance ratio is 0.92,and the hydrogen injector angle is 80°.Moreover,the peak pressure in the pre-chamber increased by 23.1%,and that in the main chamber increased by 46.3%.The results indicate that the performance of the original engine is greatly enhanced by altering its fuel and pre-chamber structure.

文摘This study focused on improving the cathode performance of Ba_(0.6)Sr_(0.4)Co_(0.85)Nb_(0.15)O_(3-δ)(BSCN)-based perovskite materials through molybdenum(Mo)doping.Pure BSCN and Mo-modified-BSCN—Ea_(0.6)Sr_(0.4)Co_(0.85)Nb_(0.1)Mo_(0.05)O_(3-δ)(B S CNM_(0.05)),Ba_(0.6)Sr_(0.4)Co_(0.85)Nb_(0.05)Mo_(0.1)O_(3-δ)(BSCNM_(0.1)),and Ba_(0.6)Sr_(0.4)Co_(0.85)Mo_(0.15)O_(3-δ)(BSCM)—with Mo doping contents of 5mol%,10mol%,and15mol%,respectively,were successfully prepared using the sol-gel method.The effects of Mo doping on the crystal structure,conductivity,thermal expansion coefficient,oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)activity,and electrochemical performance were systematically evaluated using X-ray diffraction analysis,thermally induced characterization,electrochemical impedance spectroscopy,and single-cell performance tests.The results revealed that Mo doping could improve the conductivity of the materials,suppress their thermal expansion effects,and significantly improve the electrochemical performance.Surface chemical state analysis using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy revealed that 5mol%Mo doping could facilitate a high adsorbed oxygen concentration leading to enhanced ORR activity in the materials.Density functional theory calculations confirmed that Mo doping promoted the ORR activity in the materials.At an operating temperature of 600℃,the BSCNM_(0.05)cathode material exhibited significantly enhanced electrochemical impedance characteristics,with a reduced area specific resistance of 0.048Ω·cm~2,which was lower than that of the undoped BSCN matrix material by 32.39%.At the same operating temperature,an anode-supported single cell using a BSCNM_(0.05)cathode achieved a peak power density of 1477 mW·cm^(-2),which was 30.71%,56.30%,and 171.50%higher than those of BSCN,BSCNM_(0.1),and B SCM,respectively.The improved ORR activity and electrochemical performance of BSCNM_(0.05)indicate that it can be used as a cathode material in low-temperature solid oxide fuel cells.
文摘Subcritical reactors(SCRs)or subcritical assemblies(SCAs)are the main infrastructure for designing power reactors.These reactors are widely used for training and research because of their high level of inherent safety.The objective of this study is to design a subcritical reactor using a pressurized water reactor(PWR)conventional fuel following two safety points.In the first approach,deeply placed SCR cores with an infinite multiplication factor(k_(∞))of less than unity were identified using the DRAGON lattice code.In the second approach,subcritical reactor cores with an effective multiplication factor(k_(eff))of less than unity were determined by coupling the cell calculations of the DRAGON lattice code and core calculations of the DONJON code.For the deeply subcritical reactor design,it was found that the reactor would remain inherently subcritical while using fuel rods with ^(235)U enrichment of up to 0.9%,regardless of the pitch of the fuel rods.In the second approach,the optimal pitches(1.3 to 2.3 cm)were determined for different fuel enrichment values from 1 to 5%.Subsequently,the k_(eff) was obtained for a fuel rod arrangement of 8×8 to 80×80,and the states in which the reactor would be subcritical were determined for different fuel enrichments at the corresponding optimal pitch.To validate the models used in the DRAGON and DONJON codes,the k_(eff) of the Isfahan Light Water Subcritical Reactor(LWSCR)was experimentally measured and compared with the results of the calculations.Finally,the effects of fuel and moderator temperature changes were investigated to ensure that the designed assemblies remained in the subcritical state at all operational temperatures.

文摘In this work, a simulated aircraft fuel tank inerting system has been successfully estab- lished based on a model tank. Experiments were conducted to investigate the influences of different operating parameters on the inerting effectiveness of the system, including flow rate of the inert gas (nitrogen-enriched air), inert gas concentration, fuel load of the tank and different inerting approaches. The experimental results show that under the same operating conditions, the time span of a complete inerting process decreased as the flow rate of inert gas was increased; the time span using the inert gas with 5% oxygen concentration was much longer than that using pure nitrogen; when the fuel tank was inerted using the ullage washing approach, the time span increased as the fuel load was decreased; the ullage washing approach showed the best inerting performance when the time span of a complete inerting process was the evaluation criterion, but when the decrease of dissolved oxygen concentration in the fuel was also considered to characterize the inerting effective- ness, the approach of ullage washing and fuel scrubbing at the same time was the most effective.
