The method based on quantitative feedback theory, acquires system uncertainty under different working conditions through closed-loop identification with power spectrum estimation. Then in controller designing, it makes a trade, off between the strict requirements for magnitude-frequency characteristics and those for phase-frequency characteristics of flight simulators, by converting the indices of magnitude-frequency characteristics of flight simulators into quantitative feedback theory-based tracking specification bounds and using feedforward controller to attain the required phase-flequency characteristics. Simulation and experimental results indicate that, when used to design inner flame controller of flight simulator, the proposed method can fulfill the requirements for wide frequency bandwidth indices. Compared with other controller design methods, it has the property of model-free and transparency.展开更多

The algorithm improves the traditional flight conflict detection method in two aspects:(i) New observation data are integrated into system state transition probability, and Gauss-Hermite Filter(GHF) is used for generating the importance density function.(ii) GHPF is used for flight trajectory prediction and flight conflict probability calculation. The experimental results show that the accuracy of conflict detection and tracing with GHPF is better than that with standard particle filter. The detected conflict probability is more precise with GHPF, and GHPF is suitable for early free flight conflict detection.展开更多

A projected comb-fringe (PCF) method has been developed for measuring spanwise camber changes on free-flying dragonflies and on beating-flying dragonflies through the course of a wingbeat, which bases on projecting a fringe pattern over the whole measurement area and then measuring the wing deformation from the distorted fringe pattern. Experimental results demonstrate substantial camber changes both along the wingspan and through the course of a wingbeat. The ratio of camber deformation to chord length for hind wing is up to 0.11 at 75% spanwise with a flapping angle of -0.66 degree for a free-flying dragonfly.展开更多

In this controller, the switching gain is estimated by fuzzy logic system based on the reachable conditions of sliding mode controller(SMC), and genetic algorithm (GA) is used to optimize scaling factor of the switching gain, thus the switch chattering of SMC can be alleviated. Moreover, global sliding mode is realized by designing an exponential dynamic sliding surface. Simulation and real-time application for flight simulator servo system with Lugre friction are given to indicate that the proposed controller can guarantee high robust performance all the time and can alleviate chattering phenomenon effectively.展开更多

Using the proposed formulation, it is shown that we can significantly improve the performance of the control through the reshaping properties of the IDA-PBC technique. Moreover, the control robustness level is increased via a compensation of the time-varying disturbances and the unmodeled system dynamics. This on-line compensation capability is provided by the MFC principle. The problem is studied in the case of Multi-Input Multi-Output(MIMO) mechanical systems with an explicit application to a small Vertical Take-Off and Landing(VTOL) Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV) where a stability analysis is also provided. Numerical simulations have shown satisfactory results, in comparison with some other control strategies, where an in-depth discussion with respect to the control performance is highlighted by considering several scenarios and using several metrics.展开更多
