The benzyl-type fluorous tags were prepared in 3 steps from a commercially available fluorous alcohol. The glycosylation of the benzyl-type tags with imidate donors proceeded smoothly to provide the corresponding fluorous-tagged carbohydrates in good to excellent yields, which were readily purified by fluorous solid-phase extraction(FSPE). Efficient removal of the tags from tagtethered carbohydrates were conducted under the common catalytic hydrogenation condition and the initial benzyl-type fluorous tags could be regenerated [5_TD$IF]via a 2-step simple procedure in 69%–93% yields.The utility of the new benzyl-fluorous tag was demonstrated [7_TD$IF]via the FSPE-assisted synthesis of oligosaccharides Gb3.展开更多

Thick-film organic solar cells(OSCs)are critical for large-scale manufacturing,yet they face persistent challenges of severe energy loss and complex morphology control.The integration of molecular design and device en...Thick-film organic solar cells(OSCs)are critical for large-scale manufacturing,yet they face persistent challenges of severe energy loss and complex morphology control.The integration of molecular design and device engineering is widely recognized as a promising strategy to address these bottlenecks.Here,we report the synthesis of a fluoropolymer PF8 and its application in combination with fluorous solvent vapor annealing(FSVA)post-treatment to fabricate high-performance thick-film OSCs.The fluorination strategy and FSVA process synergistically enhance the polymer’s crystallinity and induce an intrinsic fibrous morphology.As a result,the FSVA-treated PF8:L8BO device with a thickness of 110 nm achieves a power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 18.89%.Notably,even when the film thickness is increased to 300 and 500 nm,the devices maintain high efficiencies of 17.54%and 15.59%,respectively.More importantly,the 300-nm FSVA-treated blend films exhibit enhanced packing order and well-defined fibrillar morphology,leading to suppressed non-radiative recombination and efficient charge transport along the fiber network.This study demonstrates the potential of combining fluoropolymers with fluorous solvent-based device engineering for advanced thick-film optoelectronic applications,providing a viable pathway for scalable OSC manufacturing.展开更多

We have prepared perfluorodecalin (PFD) emulsions with a positive surface charge provid...We report the development of a small interfering RNA (siRNA) delivery vector based on cationic perfluorocarbon nanoemulsions. We have prepared perfluorodecalin (PFD) emulsions with a positive surface charge provided by a fluorinated poly(ethylenimine) (F-PEI). The fluorinated emulsion (F-PEI@PFD) reduced cytotoxicity of F-PEI and demonstrated effective binding with siRNAs to form nanosized emulsion polyplexes. The prepared emulsion polyplexes enhanced cellular uptake and improved endosomal escape of the siRNA. In addition to increased reporter gene silencing in multiple cancer cell lines, when compared with control F-PEI and PEI polyplexes, the siR_NA emulsion polyplexes showed an excellent resistance to serum deactivation and maintained high activity, even in high-serum conditions. The F-PEI@PFD emulsion polyplexes carrying an siRNA to silence the expression of Bcl2 gene induced apoptosis and inhibited tumor growth in a melanoma mouse model in vivo and showed potential for in vivo ultrasound imaging. This study demonstrates the potential of F-PEI@PFD emulsions as a multifunctional theranostic nanoplatform for safe siRNA delivery, with integrated ultrasound imaging functionality.展开更多
