As erosion has become one of the serious oral health problems, some fluoride-releasing dental materials have been developed to protect enamel from demineralization. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the antidemineralization effect of PRG Barrier Coat<sup>®</sup> and FujiVII<sup>®</sup> (fluoride-releasing dental materials). Four square windows measuring 1 mm<sup>2</sup> were prepared on the labial enamel surface of each bovine tooth using masking tape and nail varnish. The first and second windows were half covered by fluoride-releasing material and control material, respectively, whereas the third and fourth windows were left untreated. All windows were immersed into 0.1 M lactic acid and 6wt% CM-cellulose (pH 4.5) at 38℃ for 21 days. Subsequently, the first and second windows were covered with nail varnish after removal of the materials, and the third and fourth windows were immersed into ultrapure water at 38℃ for 28 days after being half covered with fluoride-releasing and control materials, respectively. The following procedure was performed separately during evaluations of the fluoride-releasing materials, PRG Barrier Coat, and FujiVII<sup>®</sup>, using eight and six bovine teeth, respectively. The first, second, third, and fourth windows were classified into DM-PRG;Demineralized-PRG or DM-FujiVII;Demineralized-FujiVII, DM-TCM;Demineralized-traditional cement or DM-TGIC;De-mineralized-traditional glass ionomer cement, RM-PRG;Remineralized-PRG or RM-FujiVII;Re-mineralized-FujiVII, and RM-TCM;Remineralized- traditional cement or RM-TGIC;Remineral-ized-traditional glass ionomer cement, respectively. After nail varnish was removed, △Q values (mean ± SD) of the windows were measured using QLF-D and were compared between DM-PRG and DM-TCM, RM-PRG and RM-TCM, DM-FujiVII and DM-TGIC, and RM-FujiVII and RM-TGIC groups. △Q values of RM-PRG (-60 ± 44) and RM-FujiVII (-5.0 ± 10) were significantly higher than that of RM-TCM (-315 ± 193) and RM-TGIC (-56 ± 43), respectively. The fluoride releasing materials provided remineralization effects to bovine enamel. 展开更多

Fluorescence of Ce 3+ (aq) is very strong and thoroughly quenched when Ce 3+ forms complexes with ligands containing carboxylate or phosphate groups. This property is employed to develop a new simple method to determine formation constants of Ce 3+ complex system. Fluorescence intensity is used to determine concentration of Ce 3+ (aq) in complex solution, as it is proportional to the concentration of Ce 3+ (aq). In this paper, two examples, Ce 3+ malonic acid and Ce 3+ AMP(adenosine 5′ monophosphate), of fluorescence titration were made and association constants and association numbers of the two systems were deduced for the titration with Scatchard plot. The results are similar to those obtained by others. It is suggested that this Ce 3+ method is a promising fluorescence probe, as it is not only simple but also superior to other lanthanide fluorescence probe in being able to study a large amount of organic ligands and biomolecules. 展开更多

[Objectives]To establish a new method for indirect determination of bisoprolol fumarate based on fluorescence quenching technology.[Methods]In ammonia water and ammonium chloride buffer solution at pH=9.2,whenλexcitation=277 nm andλemission=596 nm,with the increase of CCu2+,the fluorescence signal intensity of bisoprolol fumarate weakened,and the difference between the fluorescence intensity of bisoprolol fumarate itself and the fluorescence intensity of the test solution after the quencher Cu2+was added(ΔF)and Cbisoprolol fumarate showed a good linear relationship.[Results]In the range of 15.39-76.93μg/mL,ΔF=146.7 Cbisoprolol fumarate+482.1,r=0.9988,and the detection limit is 0.1391μg/mL.[Conclusions]The fluorescence quenching method has been applied to the determination of actual samples with a recovery rate of 99.9%and an RSD of 2.7%.The results are satisfactory. 展开更多

The modification of NaYF4:Yb,Er(Tm) nanoparticles synthesized in the presence of an ionic surfactant is critical to their application in biological fields for better solubility and biocompatibility. In this work, NaYF4:Yb,Er(Tm) was transformed from insoluble, inactive to hydrophilic, biocompatible via ligand exchange modification with polyacrylic acid (PAA). Ligand exchange was carried out at room temperature when a colloidal solution of NaYF4:Yb,Er(Tm) in tetrahydrofuran (THF) was treated with excess PAA. The PAA modified NaYF4:Yb,Er(Tm) nanoparticles got better surface properties but with declined inner up-conversion fluorescence. Generally, coating an analogous layer of material outside the core nanoparticles can improve the optical properties of the core. Accordingly, NaYF4:Yb,Er(Tm)/NaYF4 nanoparticles were synthesized before PAA modification to avoid the optical intensity decaying. The result of fluorescence test proved that the water soluble NaYF4:Yb,Er(Tm)/NaYF4/PAA nanocomposites had a sound up-conversion property compared with that of NaYF4:Yb,Er(Tm)/PAA. Furthermore, the up-conversion fluorescence property of the nanocomposite varied with the doping ratio of Er(Tm) to Yb and the possible mechanism for this change was also discussed. 展开更多

Fluorescence lifetime imaging(FLI)is a powerful tool for investigating molecular processes,microenvironmental parameters,and molecular interactions across tissue to(sub-)cellular levels.Despite its established value in biomedical applications,conventional FLI techniques suffer from long acquisition times,limiting their utility in real-time scenarios like fast biological processes and rapid clinical image-guided interventions.Here,we introduce a novel FLI approach that achieves real-time capability through single-snapshot acquisitions by combining a large-format time-gated SPAD array with dual-gate acquisition capability and a rapid lifetime determination algorithm,thus eliminating time-consuming temporal data collection.We demonstrate this method’s scalability and versatility across challenging biomedical applications,such as fast neural dynamics(microscale),multimodal 3D volumetric FLI of tumor organoids(mesoscale),and FLI-guided surgical procedures using tissue-mimicking phantoms(macroscale).Overall,this new methodology significantly enhances FLI’s temporal and spatial capabilities,enabling rapid dynamic biomedical signal acquisition and seamless integration into clinical workflows,particularly fluorescence-guided surgery. 展开更多

The system, having the maximum excitation and emission wavelengths at 311.0 nm and 616.3 nm, separately, shows a constant fluorescence intensity in the pH range of 11.0-12.0. The method has high selectivity and sensitivity as well as low effect from foreign ions. The optimum determinate conditions were obtained. The fluorescence intensity is a linear function of Eu3+, concentration in the range of 0.0029-1.5200 mu g center dot mL(-1) and the limit of detection is 2.90 ng center dot mL(-1). 展开更多

A new fluorescence quenching method has been developed for the determination of platinum in nonionic microemulsion medium.This method is based on the fact that platinum can form a stable chelate with dibromohydroxyphenyl-fluorine(DBHPF) when they are in the molar ratio of 1:2 in the nonionic microemulsion medium.Under optimum conditions,the system,having the maximum excitation and emission wavelengths at 468 nm and 532 nm,respectively,shows constant fluorescence intensity in the pH range of 3.5-4.0 and high selectivity and sensitivity as well as low interference from foreign ions.Furthermore,this fluorescence intensity is a linear function of Pt(IV) concentration in the range of 0.002-1.00 μg·mL^-1 and the limit of detection is 2.90 ng·mL^-1. 展开更多

Interferences caused by the matrix are investigated. It is shown that the ashing temperature can be increased to 1 400°C and matrix interferences eliminated, the sensitivity of iron increased in 1. 27 fold by the addition of nickel nitrate. The fluorescence intensity of the europium(Ⅲ) tetracycline (TC)complex can be greatly increased by TOPO,TBP,TTA and surfactans,among which TOPO showed the greatest enhancement.The formation of ternary complex was proposed to be responsible for the fluorescence enhancement .The Eu(Ⅲ) TOPO TC system can be applied to the determination of trace amounts of tetracycline in urinous sample; the maximum fluorescence intensity was obtained in the pH range of 8.2 ̄9.5 with excitation and emission wavelengths at 396 nm and 616 nm,respectively.The linear range for tetracycline is 6.0×10 -9 5.0×10 -7 mol·L -1 .The detection limit is 2.0×10 -9 mol·L -1 (SNR=3). Advanced nanofibrous materials with excellent performance and functional integration is highly desired for developing emerging wearable electronics.In this work,carbon quantum dots/poly(vinylidene fluoride)(CDs/PVDF)based composite nanofibrous material is proposed and acts as a highly negative material to boost output performance for triboelectric nanogenerators(TENGs).The nanometer‐sized and surface‐functionalized CDs acting as nucleating inducers facilitate the polarizedβ‐phase transition of PVDF polymer.The more negative surface charge density of CDs/PVDF nanofibrous membrane is generated through the polarizedβ‐phase PVDF,thereby leading to a larger electrostatic potential difference to enhance charge transfer.Besides the decreased beaded defects,more uniform morphology fibers are yielded to improve the effective contact surface area.Moreover,the CDs/PVDF composite nanofibers demonstrate the unique multicolor fluorescence effect enabling promising applications in visualized displays and sensing.Finally,the fabricated TENG features a short‐circuit current density of~61.8 mA/m^(2) and a maximum peak power density of~11.7 W/m^(2),exceeding that of most state‐of‐the‐art nanofiber‐based TENG reported to date.As a demonstration of application potential,this TENG shows the energy‐harvesting ability to charge capacitors and light up 125 green LEDs and self‐powered sensing capability for human motion monitoring.This work provides insights for exploiting novel tribomaterials for high‐output TENGs with promising potential in biomechanical energy harvesting,self‐powered sensing,and so forth. 展开更多

Objective To describe the clinical application of fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) in preimplantation gender diagnosis.Methods Preimplantation gender diagnosis was performed in 2 female hemophilia A carriers, 1 male patient with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G-6-PD) deficiency and 2 male patients with Y chromosome abnormality. Embryo sex was identified by FISH in total of 6 treatment cycles.Results A total of 123 cumulus-oocytes were retrieved in 6 treatment cycles. Sixty-one embryos were available for embryo biopsy. The success rate of biopsy was 86.9% (53/61), with a further cleavage rate of 62.3% (33/53). In the FISH procedure, one cell was lost during fixation, leading to a 98.1% (52/53) fixation rate. Totally, 16 female embryos and 3 male embryos were transferred to 5 patients in 6 cycles. Three healthy babies were born. The diagnosis was confirmed by subsequent analysis of amniocytes and embryonic buds after embryo reduction.Conclusions FISH is an efficient and reliable technique for determining the sex of human preimplantation embryos. Selective abortion and births of affected children can be avoided by preimplantation gender diagnosis. 展开更多

从低品位含钒页岩中高效提取钒是钒资源可持续利用面临的重大挑战,引入氟化物作为助浸剂可以破坏含钒矿物的硅酸盐结构,提高钒提取率。生物浸出利用嗜酸铁氧化细菌的代谢活性促进金属的溶解,然而,通常与钒页岩资源相关的高氟化物含量会... 从低品位含钒页岩中高效提取钒是钒资源可持续利用面临的重大挑战,引入氟化物作为助浸剂可以破坏含钒矿物的硅酸盐结构,提高钒提取率。生物浸出利用嗜酸铁氧化细菌的代谢活性促进金属的溶解,然而,通常与钒页岩资源相关的高氟化物含量会严重抑制细菌活性,从而限制浸出效率。为了解决这一问题,本研究使用NaF驯化获得了耐氟嗜酸性氧化亚铁硫杆菌和嗜铁钩端螺旋菌,分析了驯化菌的生长活性,并探究了不同种类和浓度的氟化物对驯化菌提钒能力的影响,最后利用三维荧光光谱-平行因子法分析了氟对细菌浸出钒页岩过程中胞外聚合物成分变化的影响。结果表明:氟驯化后的嗜酸性氧化亚铁硫杆菌和嗜铁钩端螺旋菌的F-耐受能力均达到0.19 mol/L,并且都能在10 d内将98%的Fe^(2+)氧化,具有较好的活性,可用于钒页岩浸出试验;添加0.18 mol/L的KF·2H_(2)O后,耐氟混菌浸出钒页岩30 d,钒浸出率达到76.4%,相比无菌空白对照组增加22.8%;吸脱附平衡试验表明,耐氟细菌对钒页岩的吸附性能相较原菌提升19.2%;三维荧光光谱-平行因子分析法解析出4种大分子溶解性有机物,在氟胁迫下,细菌分泌更多酪氨酸类蛋白质和腐殖酸类物质,增强了细菌的矿物附着能力和提钒能力。本研究旨在为低品位钒页岩资源的可持续高效利用提供新策略。 展开更多
