Progress measurement is cardinal for effective project delivery. It assesses the physical amount of completed work within budgeted cost and manpower performance at a specified stage of the project. It assesses the physical amount of completed work within budgeted cost and manpower performance at a specified stage of the project. Effective progress measurement facilitates progress monitoring, an inevitability for identifying early warning?signs and confirmation of structured work proceeding. Different progress measuring methods are available and used for construction projects. They range from the traditional to the contemporary ones like three-dimensional and four-dimensional models. This paper examines current progress measurement methods used in the Ghanaian construction industry. Eight commonly employed methods were identified from the literature?and?rated by sixty-two construction professionals, practicing with tier one construction firms and construction consultancy services. Relative Important Index ranking and Mann-Whitney?U?test statistics were used to rank and check the consistency of survey responses. Cost Ratio ranked?the?highest, followed by Supervisor’s Opinion and Units?Completed. Being a survey research, questionnaires containing information relating to factors/challenges affecting construction practices were randomly administered to selected construction practitioners in South-Eastern States of Nigeria. Accordingly, a total of 240 questionnaires were administered to the selected respondents while 160 copies were completed, returned and found useful. Thus, giving a response rate of 66.67%. Data collected were analysed and presented using percentages, mean scores, principal and factor analysis, z-test and tables. The study found that the core factors that constrain present-day construction in the study area are issues related to inadequate/dearth of technical and managerial expertise, corruption and poor project planning and control;which significantly affect operational effectiveness of the construction industry in the study area. Therefore, the study concluded by recommending that thorough capacity building through training or retraining programme which should centre on areas of the issues identified should be religiously pursued in the study area.展开更多

Besides guarantying smooth work progress, it affords project managers the chance to identify early warning signs for peremptory remedial actions to keep the project on schedule and to budget. However, pertinent barriers can suppress the realization of the benefits of an accurate assessment of construction progress. This study aims to identify, examine and prioritize the critical barriers militating against accurate project progress measurement in the Ghanaian construction industry. Sixteen barriers identified from the literature were administered in a questionnaire survey to professionals with tier one construction firms and consultants. Sixty experienced construction professionals practising with tier-one construction firms and consultancy services took part in the survey. The relative importance index technique was used to rank the factors and correlation in responses of the two parties tested by the Mann-Whitney <em>U</em> statistics. The most critical barriers perceived by the professionals were 1) Reliance on Supervisor’s Judgement, 2) Generic and Non-Systematic Approach, 3) Variable Quality of Data and 4) Intricate Measurement Reports. Other highly ranked barriers include 5) Lack of Timely Information, 6) Laborious Data Gathering and 7) Quality Integration Constraint. The findings underpin the need to minimize dependence on subjective opinions and mere experiences of supervisors for assessment of project progress in this age of information technology. Incorporation of a level of automation into traditional progress methods will not only reduce human errors introduced into manually collected data but facilitate visualization of progress reports. Contiguous to a clear specification of the method of progress measurement in the contract document, a system that conveniently integrates cost, time and scope of work into progress measurement must be pursued. This research proposes a conceptual framework that helps PSFs in the selection of one or more suitable PDSs for their construction operations. The framework uses SWOT （strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats） analysis as a tool for assessing each PDS considered in this research. The PDSs included in the framework are design-bid-build, design-build, construction management agency, public-private partnerships and integrated project delivery. Hence,problems to coordinate the professional construction management (PCM) and the supervising architectural company often occur for the lack of long-term experience to work together. The various factors that affect the implementation of turn-key projects currently practiced in Taiwan are analyzed using the analytic network process (ANP). The objective is to study how the twelve key factors in the four layers of "Role assignment","Signing contract","Operational procedures" and "Losing capital investment" affect the progress of implementing the turn-key project in Taiwan. The results reveal that "Delay in payment" has the most negative influence with 15.62% weighing factor; "Latent risk" comes next with 11.14% weighing factor,and "Responsibility of construction company for project quality" is the third with 10.79% weighing factor.展开更多

Contiguous to a clear specification of the method of progress measurement in the contract document, a system that conveniently integrates cost, time and scope of work into progress measurement must be pursued. Addressing these identified critical barriers will consolidate current construction progress management practices.
文摘There is a variety of PDSs （project delivery systems） in today＇s construction industry. This leads to confusion when it comes to selecting the most suitable PDS for a specific project. The wrong selection decision might lead eventually to reduced profit margins or perhaps financial losses to PSFs （professional service firms）. This research proposes a conceptual framework that helps PSFs in the selection of one or more suitable PDSs for their construction operations. The framework uses SWOT （strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats） analysis as a tool for assessing each PDS considered in this research. The PDSs included in the framework are design-bid-build, design-build, construction management agency, public-private partnerships and integrated project delivery. The main aim of this research framework is to enhance decision-making efficiency in PDS selection for PSF operations.

文摘Artificial intelligence is a frontier science for simulating,extending and expanding human intelligence,theoretical methods,technologies and application systems.Through the survey and analysis of the current situation of the integration of artificial intelligence into the construction of the teacher team,the corresponding research plan and path are formulated,and the artificial intelligence is fully integrated with the construction of the professional teacher team of acupuncture and tuina,and specific practices are carried out.The practical research path includes the construction of the corresponding artificial intelligence education analysis system and platform for the teaching staff,the formulation and practice of artificial intelligence training and training plans for the teaching staff,the daily intelligent education of the teaching staff and the sustainable improvement of lifelong intelligent education literacy.Through this study,it is hoped that the teaching ability and level of acupuncture and tuina teachers will be improved,and more new ideas and methods will be provided for the training and education of acupuncture and tuina professionals.
文摘With the increasing of aging, community pension is becoming the choice of the majority of elderly people, and the quality of community care service is closely related to the professional level of nursing staff. Through the questionnaire survey, the nursing staff＇ s high age and low education, lack of related legal basis, lack of assessment standard, the public do not understand professional construction and lack of corresponding incentive mechanism is the main bottleneck of the professional development of the nursing staff.We can through some countermeasures,such as improve the mechanism of personnel protection for community nursing staff, improve management mechanism and legal mechanism, strengthen the ideological understanding understanding of the professional construction of community nursing staffand so on ,to improve the professional level of community nursing staff, in order to better improve the service quality of nurse.

文摘Data services,knowledge services,and information services are the core service elements of university libraries in the context of the Double First-Class Initiative.Combined with the current situation of insufficient overall service capacity of libraries,this paper proposed strategies and implementation paths for optimizing the service system from three aspects:the construction of the professional qualification system for librarians,the establishment of post institutions,and the construction of library culture.Long-term path:putting library human resource management into the legal track,taking the lead in local legislation,and promoting the construction of library legislation and professional qualification certification system;optimizing the personnel system,implementing hierarchical management and classified assessment for professional librarians and auxiliary librarians.Short-term path:intensive post allocation,namely,assigning the core strength in the core post,and tackling the temporary major work combining multiple forces in the form of a"working group";building an open knowledge service ecosystem,accelerate the cross-border integration of libraries and other organizations,and striving to build the core competitiveness of libraries.

文摘In September 2017,the Ministry of Education,Ministry of Finance,and the National Development and Reform Commission jointly announced the first batch of“double first-class”construction universities,aiming to improve China’s education level and strengthen the country’s core competitiveness.In addition to first-class teaching and first-class scientific research,first-class universities should also have first-class campuses.The campus of a first-class university should have a complete range of infrastructure,scale,and function to meet the requirements of school-running and scientific research;it should also advocate sustainable development,which includes the concept of energy-saving,smart,and green.The traditional production methods and management models of the construction industry are far from being able to meet the needs of the construction and development of first-class campuses.Digital,intelligent,and informatized construction models are the only way for current campus construction.
文摘The turn-key construction project is implemented in Taiwan not by a single company but by a make-shift group of several companies. Hence,problems to coordinate the professional construction management (PCM) and the supervising architectural company often occur for the lack of long-term experience to work together. The various factors that affect the implementation of turn-key projects currently practiced in Taiwan are analyzed using the analytic network process (ANP). The objective is to study how the twelve key factors in the four layers of "Role assignment","Signing contract","Operational procedures" and "Losing capital investment" affect the progress of implementing the turn-key project in Taiwan. The results reveal that "Delay in payment" has the most negative influence with 15.62% weighing factor; "Latent risk" comes next with 11.14% weighing factor,and "Responsibility of construction company for project quality" is the third with 10.79% weighing factor.
