A 43 cm long E271 sediment core collected near the East Pacific Rise(EPR) at 13°N were studied to investigate the origin of smectite for understanding better the geochemical behavior of hydrothermal material after deposition.E271 sediments are typical metalliferous sediments. After removal of organic matter, carbonate, biogenic opal,and Fe-Mn oxide by a series of chemical procedures, clay minerals(〈2 μm) were investigated by X-ray diffraction,chemical analysis and Si isotope analysis. Due to the influence of seafloor hydrothermal activity and close to continent, the sources of clay minerals are complex. Illite, chlorite and kaolinite are suggested to be transported from either North or Central America by rivers or winds, but smectite is authigenic. It is enriched in iron, and its contents are highest in clay minerals. Data show that smectite is most likely formed by the reaction of hydrothermal Fe-oxyhydroxide with silica and seawater in metalliferous sediments. The Si that participates in this reaction may be derived from siliceous microfossils(diatoms or radiolarians), hydrothermal fluids, or detrital mineral phases. And their δ30 Si values are higher than those of authigenic smectites, which implies that a Si isotope fractionation occurs during the formation because of the selective absorption of light Si isotopes onto Feoxyhydroxides. Sm/Fe mass ratios(a proxy for overall REE/Fe ratio) in E271 clay minerals are lower than those in metalliferous sediments, as well as distal hydrothermal plume particles and terrigenous clay minerals. This result suggests that some REE are lost during the smectite formation, perhaps because their large ionic radii of REE scavenged by Fe-oxyhydroxides preclude substitution in either tetrahedral or octahedral lattice sites of this mineral structure, which decreases the value of metalliferous sediments as a potential resource for REE. 展开更多

Two groups of 32 pigs (initial BW: 6.9 ± 1.0 kg) were distributed in a 2 x 4 factorial arrangement of a randomized complete block design (2 challenge treatments: sham or E. coil, and 4 dietary treatments: control, 0.3% smectite A, 0.3% smectite B and 0.3% zeolite), with 8 replicates total. Diarrhea score, growth performance, goblet cell size and number, bacterial translocation from intestinal lumen to lymph nodes, intestinal morphology, and relative amounts of sulfo and sialo mucins were measured. The E. coli challenge reduced performance, increased goblet cell size and number in the ileum, increased bacterial translocation from the intestinal lumen to the lymph nodes, and increased ileal crypt depth. One of the clays (smectite A) tended to increase goblet cell size in ileum, which may indicate enhanced protection. In conclusion, E. coli infection degrades intestinal barrier integrity but smectite A may enhance it. 展开更多

A series of mesoporous silicate adsorbents with superior adsorption performance for hazardous chlortetracycline(CTC) were sucessfully prepared via a facile one-pot hydrothermal reaction using low-cost illite/smectite(IS) clay,sodium silicate and magnesium sulfate as the starting materials.In this process,IS clay was "teared up" and then "rebuilt" as new porous silicate adsorbent with high specific surface area of 363.52 m^2/g(about 8.7 folds higher than that of IS clay) and very negative Zeta potential(- 34.5 mV).The inert Si- O- Si(Mg,Al) bonds in crystal framework of IS were broken to form Si(Al)- O^- groups with good adsorption activity,which greatly increased the adsorption sites served for holding much CTC molecules.Systematic evaluation on adsorption properties reveals the optimal silicate adsorbent can adsorb 408.81 mg/g of CTC(only 159.7 mg/g for raw IS clay) and remove 99.3%(only 46.5%for raw IS clay) of CTC from 100 mg/L initial solution(pH 3.51;adsorption temperature 30℃;adsorbent dosage,3 g/L).The adsorption behaviors of CTC onto the adsorbent follows the Langmuir isotherm model,Temkin equation and pseudo second-order kinetic model.The mesopore adsorption,electrostatic attraction and chemical association mainly contribute to the enhanced adsorption properties.As a whole,the high-efficient silicate adsorbent could be candidates to remove CTC from the wastewater with high amounts of CTC. 展开更多

The aim of this work was to test the adsorption efficiency of copper (II) ions in an aqueous solution on Natural Smectite (NS) and Activated Carbon (AC). The experiments carried out in batch mode made it possible to determine the stirring time, the adsorbent mass, the pH, the initial concentration of copper (II) ions, the isotherms and the adsorption kinetics. It appears that the stirring time was 15 minutes for the AC and 20 minutes for the NS. The adsorption was at maximum for the two adsorbents at optimum pH of 3.5 for a mass of 0.05 g each. The quantity of copper (II) ions adsorbed was 26.6 mg/L for NS and 36.6 mg/g for AC of a concentration of 600 mg/L each. The Langmuir isotherm was the one that best described the adsorption process for the two adsorbents. The adsorption kinetics obtained was that of the pseudo second-order for our two adsorbents. The results obtained showed that these two adsorbents were effective for the adsorption of copper (II) ions in an aqueous solution. 展开更多

Lath-shaped and highly crystalline trioctahedral smectites were synthesized under hydrothermal conditions. The quenched glasses with stoichiometrically dehydrated Na-smectite compositions were treated at (a) 500℃ and 100 MPa for 1 and 11 days; and (b) 300℃ and 100 MPa for 7 days. The crystallinity and particle size of products were dependent on the chemical composition of the starting glass, synthetic temperature and duration of hydrothermal treatment. The high structural ordering and large dimensions of the products were confirmed from the sharpness of XRD peaks; and hydration behavior under controlled relative humidity. Transmission electron microscopy was also performed for the characterization of the particle size of product. Particle sizes vary from ca. 10 nm to a few pm by changing the chemical compositions of the starting materials. The product with the highest structural ordering and largest dimension was obtained from Nao.33(Mg1.83Al0.67)Si4O11 glass treated at 500℃ and 100 MPa for 1 day. The obtained results also confirmed the metastability and compositional dependency in the formation of highly crystalline trioctahedral smectite at hydrothermal conditions. 展开更多

There are two aspects in the study of irregular mixed-layer clay minerals: one is the kinds and ratios of their basic structural unit layers and the other is the junction probabilities of the unit layers. Irregular mixed-layer illite/smectite clay minerals (I/S) are widespread in nature. While studying the clay minerals from the Permian-Triassic (P/T) boundary bed, the authors found that I/S clay minerals are developed in all P/T boundary clay layers in areas from the northwest to southeast of China. Systematic mineralogical studies of the I/S clay minerals from Hunan, Hubei, Sichuan and Zhejiang were made by means of X-ray, infrared spectroscopic, electron microscopic and chemical analyses and a deepened study of the stacking sequences of their structural unit layers was conducted by the MacEwan one—dimentional direct Fourier transform. It was found that the stacking of the illite and smectite crystal layers along the c axis can be derived from Fibonacci sequences. Hence, the authors propose that such I/S clay minerals are possessed of two—dimentional crystal lattice and one—dimentional quasicrystal lattice. 展开更多

The values of acidity for Central Uganda were low ranging from 0.07 mol/g to 0.32 mol/g yet those for clays from Eastern Uganda were high ranging from 0.1 mol/g to 1.85 mol/g. Based on acidity, pH, elemental and mineral compositions, the clays from Central Uganda were found to be kaolinites or halloysites, yet Eastern Uganda clays were resolved to contain nontronite and kaolinite. 展开更多

Following the principle of using only mineral components for skin treatment,?use?of expandable hydrophilic clay minerals should be considered. They sorb?cations and positively charged organic molecules and are impermeable to fluids and gas under low pressure, hence providing oxygen-free micro-environment. The clay mineralogy of the clay intervals interbedded with siliceous mudstones across the Permian-Triassic boundary (PTB) in Pengda, Guiyang, Guizhou province, was investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). The clay mineral assemblages of the sediments are mainly I/S clays and minor smectite, kaolinite, and illite as reveled by XRD analyses. The peak-shape parameters BB1 and BB2 of I/S clays of the representative clay bed PL-01 are 4.7° and 4.4°, and the peak position of the low angle reflection is at 6.8° 2θ (13.6 ), suggesting that the I/S clays has a IS type of ordering. However, the presence of multi-order reflections and their intensities are different from those of completely ordered 1∶1 mixed-layer I/S clay rectorite, indicating that I/S clays of the Pengda section have partially ordered IS structures. HRTEM observations show that most of the I/S clays exhibit an IS stacking ordering. However, in some areas within a IS particle, smectite layer is observed in doublets, triplets, and quartets, which are interstratified by various amounts of illite layers, suggesting the presence of other irregular stacking in addition to the major 1∶1 IS ordered stacking. Transformation of smectite layer into illite layers is also observed in the I/S clays, suggesting that the Pengda I/S clays are derived from smectite illitization, in good agreement with the clay mineral assemblage. The I/S clays of the Pengda section contain up to 45% to 95% smectite layer, the notably higher contents of smectite layer relative to those of other PTB stratigraphic sets in south China can be attributed to difference in alteration and smectite illitization processes due to different sedimentary environments. 展开更多

Effect of a High Silver Stress on the Element Transfers from a Smectite-Type Clay Substrate to Plants

Two species of radishes, Raphanus sativus and Raphanus raphanistrum, were grown in the laboratory in the same substrate consisting of a smectite-type clay, which was watered at the beginning of the experience with 50 ml of a solution containing either none or 1000, 2000 or 4000 mg/L of AgNO3, respectively. Occurrence of the toxic metal in the substrate outlines higher element uptakes by the cultivated species Raphanus sativus than by the wild species Raphanus raphanistrum, except for the highest degree of Ag pollution. After a one-month growth in the Ag-polluted substrate, Raphanus sativus was depleted in most of the major, trace and rare-earth elements, except for Al, Fe, Th, Ag and U that increased in the radishes from substrate polluted by 2000 mg/L of AgNO3, and Sr, Co, Ni, U and Ag that increased in the radishes from substrate polluted by 4000 mg/L of AgNO3. Raphanus raphanistrum was enriched in all elements except Si, Na, Rb and K in the polluted substrate. The uptake was monitored by a cation-exchange process in the rhy-zosphere between mineral particles and the watering solution in the presence of various enzymes with specific activities that induced a variable uptake with the REEs being even fractionated. These activities most probably depend on combined factors, such as the plant species, and the chemical and physical properties of the substrate. The results obtained here reveal also that accumulation of nutrient elements and others in the plants is not uniform at a given Ag pollution of the substrate and therefore at a given Ag contamination in the same plant species. 展开更多

致密砂岩气作为非常规油气资源的重要组成部分,对其储层矿物学特征的研究一直以来都是非常规油气领域研究热点。黏土矿物作为致密砂岩储层的主要组成矿物之一,目前对其形貌特征的研究主要依赖于电子显微术,但受其表面电荷吸附性及样品... 致密砂岩气作为非常规油气资源的重要组成部分,对其储层矿物学特征的研究一直以来都是非常规油气领域研究热点。黏土矿物作为致密砂岩储层的主要组成矿物之一,目前对其形貌特征的研究主要依赖于电子显微术,但受其表面电荷吸附性及样品表面导电膜二次改造的影响,很难对其表面形貌特征进行准确的精细刻画。然而,致密砂岩储层主体孔径在20~500nm,伊蒙混层黏土、绿泥石、伊利石等黏土矿物为纳米孔隙发育的主要矿物之一,随着致密砂岩储层微纳米孔隙系统的研究深入,黏土矿物纳米形貌特征的研究对于致密砂岩储层评价显得愈发重要,因此,对黏土矿物纳米/亚纳米形貌特征的研究对于储层评价具有重要的意义。本文利用原子力显微镜(AFM)观察到川西须家河组致密砂岩晚成岩阶段中伊蒙混层黏土矿物发育平行阶梯条纹,阶梯的两面凹角处形成了大量的纳米孔隙,是无机纳米孔隙的主要组成部分;绿泥石主要呈面平棱直的理想晶体生长终态,生长层在纵向上有规律地无隙叠置,晶体处于一个稳定的状态;伊利石发育平行阶梯条纹或波纹状阶梯,晶体形态不规则,处于亚稳定状态。其次,川西须家河组晚成岩阶段的黏土矿物构造背景相似、经历的成岩演化序列相同,但是通过AFM观察到川西须家河组晚成岩阶段不同种类黏土矿物晶体形态各异、晶面阶梯发育程度不尽相同,表明黏土矿物的形貌特征与成岩作用之间存在着空间耦合关系。 展开更多

锂元素由于其广泛的用途,尤其是新能源汽车的飞速发展,已成为当今最炙手可热的矿产资源之一。而在各锂资源类型中,黏土型锂矿由于其分布广、沉积环境稳定及开采成本低等特点,已成为锂的重要来源。元素赋存状态的研究对其开发利用具有科... 锂元素由于其广泛的用途,尤其是新能源汽车的飞速发展,已成为当今最炙手可热的矿产资源之一。而在各锂资源类型中,黏土型锂矿由于其分布广、沉积环境稳定及开采成本低等特点,已成为锂的重要来源。元素赋存状态的研究对其开发利用具有科学指导意义,但由于锂元素是最轻的金属元素,在较多检测手段下分析受限,导致了其赋存状态研究难度大。因此对黏土型锂矿中的Li元素赋存状态研究是锂矿开发利用前期工作中的重点及难点所在。本次研究以河北凤山地区黏土岩为研究对象,主要利用LA-ICP-MS原位点、面分析方法,同时结合矿物自动定量分析系统(AMICS)及岩矿鉴定等技术手段,从而探讨样品内锂元素的赋存形式。研究结果表明,该区岩性为砂质黏土岩,主要黏土矿物种类为伊蒙混层(42.11%),同时含有较多碱性长石(15.60%)、石英(13.24%)及斜长石(9.32%)等陆源碎屑物,Li元素含量为0.12%;LA-ICPMS分析结果显示伊蒙混层矿物集合体内锂元素含量平均值为2499.27×10^(−6),占全岩总Li含量的87.70%;在样品焙烧至600℃时,红外结果显示黏土矿物结构发生改变的同时,锂元素的浸出率达82.33%。综合判断,本样品中Li元素主要以阳离子替代的形式赋存于伊蒙混层颗粒内。同时,本次研究建立的锂元素赋存状态的多手段综合研究方法,可为同种类型及相似类型矿产的赋存状态研究提供思路。 展开更多

有机胺改性合成蒙脱石作为稠化剂的流变学行为和摩擦学性能

有机蒙脱石的性质主要取决于蒙脱石交换量、层间有机物的选择以及层间分子排列。为探究有机胺有机改性合成蒙脱石作为稠化剂的流变行为和摩擦性能,通过水热法制备性质稳定、高交换量的合成蒙脱石,使用十二胺、十四胺、十六胺和十八胺对... 有机蒙脱石的性质主要取决于蒙脱石交换量、层间有机物的选择以及层间分子排列。为探究有机胺有机改性合成蒙脱石作为稠化剂的流变行为和摩擦性能,通过水热法制备性质稳定、高交换量的合成蒙脱石,使用十二胺、十四胺、十六胺和十八胺对合成蒙脱石进行有机改性。结果表明,烷基链长度的差异可以有效调控有机蒙脱石的层间距大小、有机物含量和疏水能力,获得具有优良疏水性能的有机合成蒙脱石。以有机蒙脱石为稠化剂制备4种无滴点的高温润滑脂,并进行不同性能表征。理化性能分析结果表明,不同烷基链有机胺改性的蒙脱石润滑脂的机械安定性、胶体安定性、抗水淋能力和铜片腐蚀能力表现出显著的差异,其中十八胺改性的蒙脱石润滑脂展现出优异的性质。流变学分析结果表明,十八胺改性的蒙脱石润滑脂表现出最高的储能模量,并在低温和高温下均能保持良好的润滑脂结构。高温摩擦学实验结果表明,十八胺改性的蒙脱石润滑脂能够保持平稳的动态摩擦运行曲线、较低的摩擦因数和磨损体积。因此,使用有机胺可以制备出性能优异的高温润滑脂,具有潜在的应用价值。 展开更多

布拉氏酵母菌联合蒙脱石散治疗小儿轮状病毒腹泻的临床效果

目的观察布拉氏酵母菌联合蒙脱石散治疗小儿轮状病毒腹泻的临床效果。方法选取2023年4月—2025年4月在湛江中心人民医院确诊且接受治疗的轮状病毒腹泻患儿80例,依据入院序号奇偶性随机分为试验组和对照组各40例。对照组接受标准治疗方... 目的观察布拉氏酵母菌联合蒙脱石散治疗小儿轮状病毒腹泻的临床效果。方法选取2023年4月—2025年4月在湛江中心人民医院确诊且接受治疗的轮状病毒腹泻患儿80例,依据入院序号奇偶性随机分为试验组和对照组各40例。对照组接受标准治疗方案联合蒙脱石散治疗,试验组在对照组基础上增加布拉氏酵母菌治疗,2组均治疗1周。比较2组临床疗效、病情改善时间,治疗前后大便频次、血清炎性因子[白介素-6(IL-6)、白介素-10(IL-10)、肿瘤坏死因子-α(TNF-α)]水平及不良反应。结果试验组总有效率为92.50%,高于对照组的75.00%(χ^(2)=4.501,P=0.034);试验组退热、止泻、止吐、病毒转阴时间短于对照组(P<0.01)。治疗1周后,2组大便频次少于治疗前,IL-6、TNF-α水平低于治疗前,IL-10水平高于治疗前,且试验组变化幅度大于对照组(P<0.05或P<0.01)。试验组与对照组不良反应总发生率比较差异无统计学意义(5.00%vs.12.50%,χ^(2)=0.626,P=0.429)。结论布拉氏酵母菌联合蒙脱石散治疗小儿轮状病毒腹泻的效果较好,可快速改善患儿病情,缓解炎性反应,且耐受性较高,不增加不良反应。 展开更多

水热条件下合成了含M2+离子(Mg2+、Co2+、Ni2+和Zn2+)的介孔Smectite材料.经X射线粉末衍射和比表面积与孔隙率测定,确定了其晶体结构和孔性质.以配位体交换法固载金属Pd配合物———Pd(PhCH2CN)2Cl2,制备固载Pd配合物的Smectite介孔材... 水热条件下合成了含M2+离子(Mg2+、Co2+、Ni2+和Zn2+)的介孔Smectite材料.经X射线粉末衍射和比表面积与孔隙率测定,确定了其晶体结构和孔性质.以配位体交换法固载金属Pd配合物———Pd(PhCH2CN)2Cl2,制备固载Pd配合物的Smectite介孔材料催化剂———SM(M)Pd.负载后平均孔径的测定结果表明,SM(M)Pd平均孔径均高于H-Mont-Pd平均孔径(3.70 nm),说明固载的Pd(PhCH2CN)2Cl2能够扩大H-Mont-Pd孔径.不同SM(M)Pd催化Heck偶联反应结果表明,SM(Co)Pd催化剂活性最好,这一方面与SM(Co)Pd具有最大的比表面积和孔容一致,另外也与Co2+电子结构有关.在该催化剂下,碘苯与丙烯酸甲酯的Heck偶联反应的适宜溶剂是N,N-二甲基乙酰胺(NMAC),反应温度为80℃,反应时间1 h,催化剂用量5 mg/mmol碘苯,5次重复使用催化剂活性没有下降,碘苯转化率接近100%. 展开更多
