However, still efforts are required to design and improve the biocompatibility of contrast agents for early detection of cancer. Herein, we synthesized splat shape Fe_3O_4/Au nanocomposites for multimode biomedical applications. Transmission electron microscopy(TEM) results showed that the splat-like Fe_3O_4/Au structure was in the range of 130 nm and homogeneously distributed in the aqueous medium. The nanocomposites were incubated with MCF-7 cells to investigate the magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) and surface-enhanced Raman scattering(SERS) activities. The excellent T_2 MRI and enhanced SERS properties were obtained without any cytotoxicity. These results demonstrated that assynthesized splat-shaped Fe_3O_4/Au nanocomposites may be a promising MRI/SERS dual probe for the tumor detection.展开更多

In this paper, the geological setting, mineral associations, chemical composition, some physical properties, X-ray powder diffraction data and infrared spectroscopy of magnesioferrite and magnesiomagnetite are discussed. Magnesioferrite contains 17.66%–13.48% of MgO. Its main associated minerals are clinohumite, chondrodite, serpentine, calcite and magnesiomagnetite. The density of magnesioferrite is 4.537–4.720, reflectances in percent are: 17.8–18.1, hardness is 838–900 kg/mm2, and the cell parameter ao = 8.371–8.379 ?. A systematic study of the magnesioferrite-magnesiomagnetite-magnetite series suggests that along with the increase of magnesioferrite molecules in the mineral, the density, reflectances and cell parameters decrease correspondingly, the hardness heightens, and the infrared absorption spectral band becomes wider. The authors consider that magnesioferrite is a product of contact metasomatism between hypabyssal intermediate-acid intrusions and dolomitic marble. It was formed in shallow exocontact zones under relatively oxidized conditions.展开更多

Methods: Two crucial conditions (sodium chloride concentration and amount of the magnetic particles) were optimized and 8 different human whole blood samples were used to purify genomic DNA under the optimal condition. Then agarose gel electrophoresis and polymerase cbain reaction (PCR) were performed. Results: The optimal binding condition was 1.5 mol/L NaC1/10% PEG, and the optimal amount of Fe3O4/Au composite particles was 600μg. The yields of the genomic DNA from 100μl of different whole blood samples were 2-5 μg, and the ratio of A260/A280 was in the range of 1.70-1.90. The size of genomic DNA was about 23 kb and the PCR was valid. Conclusion: The purification system using Fe3O4/Au composite microparticles has advantages in high yield, high purity, ease of operating, time saving and avoiding centrifugation. The purified sample was found to function satisfactorily in PCR amplification.展开更多
