In this paper, a novel fault tolerant permanent magnet synchronous motor is proposed, which is character- ized by two stators and two rotors on the same shaft with a circumferential displacement of mechanical angle of 4.5°. It helps to reduce the cogging torque. Each segment of the stator and the rotor can be considered as an 8-pole/10-slot five-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor with concentrated, single-layer and alternate teeth wound winding, which enhance the fault isola- tion capacity of the motor. Furthermore, the motor has high phase inductance to restrain the short-circuit current. In addition, an improved optimal torque control strategy is proposed to make the motor work well under the open-circuit fault and short-circuit fault conditions. Simulation and experiment results show that the proposed fault tolerant motor system has excellent fault tolerant capacity, which is able to operate continuously under the third open-circuit fault and second short- circuit fault condition without system performance degradation, which was not available earlier.展开更多

First, the NSP is introduced, and it is used to extend the conventional generic model control (GMC) to nonlinear processes with large input time-delay. Then the STF is adopted to estimate process states and sensor bias, the estimated sensor bias is used to drive a fault detection logic. When a sensor fault is detected, the estimated process states by the STF will be used to construct the process output to form a 'soft sensor', which is then used by the NSP (instead of the real outputs) to provide state predictors. These procedures constitute an active fault tolerant control scheme. Finally, simulation results of a three-tank-system demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.展开更多

The proposed method, taking advantage of reliable control, can maintain the performance of the faulty system during the time delay of fault detection and diagnosis (FDD) and fault accommodation (FA), which can be regarded as the first line of defence against sensor faults. Simulation results of a three-tank system with sensor fault are given to show the efficiency of the method.
文摘This paper investigates the active fault tolerant cooperative control problem for a team of wheeled mobile robots whose actuators are subjected to partial or severe faults during the team mission. The cooperative robots network only requires the interaction between local neighbors over the undirected graph and does not assume the existence of leaders in the network. We assume that the communication exists all the time during the mission. To avoid the system's deterioration in the event of a fault,a set of extended Kalman filters(EKFs)are employed to monitor the actuators'behavior for each robot. Then, based on the online information given by the EKFs,a reconfigurable sliding mode control is proposed to take an appropriate action to accommodate that fault. In this research study, two types of faults are considered. The first type is a partial actuator fault in which the faulty actuator responds to a partial of its control input, but still has the capability to continue the mission when the control law is reconfigured. In addition, the controllers of the remaining healthy robots are reconfigured simultaneously to move within the same capability of the faulty one.The second type is a severe actuator fault in which the faulty actuator is subjected to a large loss of its control input, and that lead the exclusion of that faulty robot from the team formation.Consequently, the remaining healthy robots update their reference trajectories and form a new formation shape to achieve the rest of the team mission.
文摘Modular multilevel converters(MMCs)have been one of the most broadly used multilevel converter topologies in industrial applications, particularly in medium-voltage motor drives and high-voltage dc power conversion systems. However, due to the utilization of large amount of semiconductor devices, the reliability of MMCs becomes one of the severe challenges constraining their further development and applications. In this paper, common electrical faults of the MMC have been summarized and analyzed, including open-circuit switching faults,short-circuit switching faults,dc-bus short-circuit faults, and single line-to-ground faults on the ac side.A thorough and comprehensive review of the existing online fault diagnostic methods has been conducted. In addition,fault-tolerant operation strategies for such various fault scenarios in MMCs have been presented. All the fault diagnosis and fault-tolerant operation strategies are comparatively evaluated, which aims to provide a state-of-the-art reference on the MMC reliability for future research and industrial applications.

文摘The generalized conditional fault-tolerant embedding is investigated, in which the n-dimensional folded hypercube networks (denoted by FQn) acts as the host graph, and the longest fault-free cycle represents the vip graph. Under the conditions looser than that of previous works, it is shown that FQn has a cycle with length at least 2n -21F, I when the number of faulty vertices and non-critical edges is at most 2n-4; where |Fv| is the number of faulty vertices. It provides further theoretical evidence for the fact that FQn has excellent node-fault-tolerance and edge-fault-tolerance when used as a topology of large scale computer networks.
