为探明泥石流与多级拦挡结构间的相互作用机制,该文建立了耦合的光滑粒子流体动力学(SPH)和有限元方法(FEM)的数值模型,模拟泥石流浆体与块石的相互耦合过程,分析了格栅-重力坝、格栅-格栅坝和重力-重力坝三种组合坝在泥石流作用下动力... 为探明泥石流与多级拦挡结构间的相互作用机制,该文建立了耦合的光滑粒子流体动力学(SPH)和有限元方法(FEM)的数值模型,模拟泥石流浆体与块石的相互耦合过程,分析了格栅-重力坝、格栅-格栅坝和重力-重力坝三种组合坝在泥石流作用下动力响应,包括泥石流速度、冲击力、坝体支反力和Von Mises应力。结果表明:多级拦挡坝承泥石流冲击力与坝体结构密切相关,格栅坝透水性强、整体荷载小但局部应力集中;重力坝借浆体缓冲层降低局部应力。此外,一级坝支反力普遍高于二级坝,当一级为重力坝时应力剧增,为格栅坝则使荷载分配合理、减小应力差。因此坝体结构特性对荷载分配具有调控作用,为工程实践中优选坝型组合可提供设计参考。 展开更多

The coupling iteration (CI) of the finite element method(FEM) is used to simulate the magnetic and mechanical characteristics for a GMM actuator. The convergent ability under different prestress and different load types is investigated. Then the calculated deformations are compared with the experimental values. The results convince that the CI of FEM is suitable for the simulation of energy coupling and transformation mechanism of the GMM. At last, the output deformation properties are studied under different input currents, showing that there is a good compromise between good linearity and large strain under the prestress 6 MPa. 展开更多

FEM analyses for influences of pressure solution on thermo-hydro-mechanical coupling in porous rock mass

The model of pressure solution for granular aggregate was introduced into the FEM code for analysis of thermo-hydro- mechanical (T-H-M) coupling in porous medium. Aiming at a hypothetical nuclear waste repository in an unsaturated quartz rock mass, two computation conditions were designed: 1) the porosity and the permeability of rock mass are fimctions of pressure solution; 2) the porosity and the permeability are constants. Then the corresponding numerical simulations for a disposal period of 4 a were carried out, and the states of temperatures, porosities and permeabilities, pore pressures, flow velocities and stresses in the rock mass were investigated. The results show that at the end of the calculation in Case 1, pressure solution makes the porosities and the permeabilities decrease to 10%-45% and 0.05%-1.4% of their initial values, respectively. Under the action of the release heat of nuclear waste, the negative pore pressures both in Case 1 and Case 2 are 1.2-1.4 and 1.01-l.06 times of the initial values, respectively. So, the former represents an obvious effect of pressure solution. The magnitudes and distributions of stresses within the rock mass in the two calculation cases are the same. 展开更多

In this study, the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow through a circular pipe under the influence of a transverse mag- netic field when the outside medium is also electrically conducting is solved numerically by using FEM-BEM coupling approach. The coupled partial differential equations defined for the interior medium are transformed into homogenous modified Helmholtz equations. For the exterior medium on an infinite region, the Laplace equation is considered for the exterior magnetic field. Unknowns in the equations are also related with the corresponding Dirichlet and Neumann type coupled boundary conditions. Unknown values of the magnetic field on the boundary and for the exterior region are obtained by using BEM, and the unknown velocity and magnetic field inside the pipe are obtained by using SUPG type stabilized FEM. Computations are carried for very high values of magnetic Reynolds numbers Rm1, Reynolds number Re and magnetic pressure Rh of the fluid. The results show that using stabilized method enables us to get stable and accurate numerical approximations consistent with the physical configuration of the problem over rough mesh which also results a cheap computational cost. 展开更多

In dealing with abrasive waterjet machining(AWJM) simulation,most literatures apply finite element method(FEM) to build pure waterjet models or single abrasive particle erosion models.To overcome the mesh distortion caused by large deformation using FEM and to consider the effects of both water and abrasive,the smoothed particle hydrodynamics(SPH) coupled FEM modeling for AWJM simulation is presented,in which the abrasive waterjet is modeled by SPH particles and the target material is modeled by FEM.The two parts interact through contact algorithm.Utilizing this model,abrasive waterjet with high velocity penetrating the target materials is simulated and the mechanism of erosion is depicted.The relationships between the depth of penetration and jet parameters,including water pressure and traverse speed,etc,are analyzed based on the simulation.The simulation results agree well with the existed experimental data.The mixing multi-materials SPH particles,which contain abrasive and water,are adopted by means of the randomized algorithm and material model for the abrasive is presented.The study will not only provide a new powerful tool for the simulation of abrasive waterjet machining,but also be beneficial to understand its cutting mechanism and optimize the operating parameters. 展开更多

With the high speed, the rotor of magnetically suspended permanent magnet synchronous motor(MSPMSM) suffers great thermal stress and mechanical stress resulting from the temperature rise problem caused by rotor losses, which leads to instability and inefficiency.In this paper, the mechanical–temperature field coupling analysis is conducted to analyze the relationship between the temperature field and structure, and multi-objective optimization of a rotor is performed to improve the design reliability and efficiency. Firstly, the temperature field is calculated by the 2 D finite element model of MSPMSM and the method of applying the 2 D temperature result to the 3 D finite element model of the motor rotor equivalently is proposed. Then the thermal–structure coupling analysis is processed through mathematic method and finite element method(FEM),in which the 3 D finite element model is established precisely in a way and approaches the practical operation state further. Moreover, the impact produced by the temperature and structure on the mechanical strength is analyzed in detail. Finally, the optimization mathematical model of the motor rotor is established with Sequential Quadratic Programming-NLPQL selected in the optimization scheme. Through optimization, the strength of the components in the motor rotor increases obviously and satisfies the design requirement, which to a great extend enhances the service life of the MSPMSM rotor. 展开更多

By combining with the process parameters of certain 2 050 mm hot strip rolling, an actual roll- ing process of low carbon steel SS400 was simulated using the FEM model. Based on the simulation results, the distributions of the strain field, the temperature field, and the microstructure were presented. 为了模拟喷丸强化过程,实现喷丸强化效果快速预测,基于Abaqus软件采用离散元法-有限元法(Discrete Element Method-Finite Element Method,DEM-FEM)耦合建立随机多丸粒喷丸强化模型,并以TC4钛合金为研究对象,通过喷丸强化试验来验证耦... 为了模拟喷丸强化过程,实现喷丸强化效果快速预测,基于Abaqus软件采用离散元法-有限元法(Discrete Element Method-Finite Element Method,DEM-FEM)耦合建立随机多丸粒喷丸强化模型,并以TC4钛合金为研究对象,通过喷丸强化试验来验证耦合模型的准确性。采用Box-Behnken设计(Box-Behnken Design,BBD)法,针对弹丸大小、喷丸速度和喷丸覆盖率3个工艺参数设计了三因素三水平的喷丸仿真试验方案,采用仿真分析获得表面残余应力值及表面粗糙度值,并通过Design-Expert软件进行数值拟合,最终得到喷丸工艺参数与表面残余应力和表面粗糙度之间的函数模型,采用响应面法分析弹丸大小、喷丸速度、喷丸覆盖率三因素之间的交互作用以及对喷丸强化效果的影响规律。结果表明,响应面预测模型结果与仿真计算结果误差低于5%,所建立的响应面预测模型具有较高的近似精度和可靠性,利用此模型可实现喷丸强化效果的有效预测。 展开更多

The effects of reduction, deformation temperature, and rolling speed on the deformation parameters and microstructure in plate rolling were investigated using the model. After a typical rolling process of steel plate 16Mn is simulated, the strain, temperature, and microstructure distributions are presented, as well as the ferrite grain transformation during the period of cooling. By comparing the calculated ferrite grain sizes with measured ones, the model is validated. 展开更多

In order to consider the influence of temperature and underground water movement, an elastoplastic model and a 2D FEM stress fields on the migration of radioactive nuclide with code for analysis of coupled thermo-hydro-mechanical (THM) processes in saturated and unsaturated porous media were extended and improved through introducing the percolation and migration equation, so that the code can be used for solving the temperature field, flow field, stress field and nuclide concentration field simultaneously. The states of temperatures, pore pressures and nuclide concentrations in the near field of a hypothetical nuclear waste repository were investigated. The influence of the half life of the radioactive nuclide on the temporal change of nuclide concentration was analyzed considering the thermo-hydro-mechanical-migratory coupling. The results show that, at the boundary of the vitrified waste, the concentration of radioactive nuclide with a half life of 10 a falls after a period of rising, with the maximum value of 0.182 mol/m3 and the minimum value of 0.181 mol/m^3 at the end of computation. For a half life of 1 000 a, the concentration of radioactive nuclide always increases with the increase of the time during the computation period; and the maximum value is 1.686 mol/m^3 at the end of the computation. Therefore, under the condition of THM coupling, the concentration of radioactive nuclide with a shorter half life will decrease more quickly with water flow; but for the radioactive nuclide with a longer half life, its concentration will keep at a higher level for a longer time in the migration process. 展开更多
