In this paper, linguistic methodology is suggested for approaching figures of speech formed due to shift of cognitive relations. First, requisite features, possible features and impossible features are proposed on the basis of semantic analysis and their interrelationships and expressions are discussed. Then it is further argued that all figures formed due to shift of cognitive relation are expressed to accept an impossible feature; and there are four semantic forms to accept it: “zero distance/distanced”, “implicit/explicit”, “direct/indirect”, “positive/negative”. Finally, starting from the two approaches to figures we comment on the traditional idea of separating decoration and substance and the new idea of “function as form”. 展开更多

Integrating mobility and security in the network layer has become a key factor for Future Internet Architecture(FIA). This paper proposes a secure mobility support mechanism in e Xpressive Internet Architecture(XIA),a new FIA currently under development as part of the US National Science Foundation's(NSF) program. Utilizing the natural features of ID/locator decoupling and versatile routing in XIA, a general mechanism to support host mobility is proposed. Exploiting the self-certifying identifier, a secure binding update protocol to overcome the potential threats introduced by the proposed mobility support mechanism is also given. We demonstrate that our design in XIA outperforms IP based solutions in terms of efficiency and flexibility. We also outline our initial design to illustrate one derivative benefit of an evolvable architecture:mobility support customizability with no sacrifice of architectural generality. 展开更多

Objective: To identify the moderating effects of cognitive reappraisal(CR) and expressive suppression(ES) on the relationship between posttraumatic stress(PTS) symptoms and posttraumatic growth(PTG) in university students. Methods: The survey included 1 987 Chinese university students who completed questionnaires on PTS symptoms in February 2020, with three follow-up surveys at two-month intervals until August 2020. We assessed CR and ES at February 2020 and PTG at August 2020. Growth mixture modeling was used to classify the PTS symptom trajectories. Multinomial logistic regression was used to recognize the predictors of class membership. The relationships among PTS symptoms, CR, ES, and PTG were examined using multi-group path analysis. Results: Sex, SARS-Co V-2 infection of a family member or friend, number of siblings, CR, and ES were significantly associated with PTS symptoms. Three latent classes were identified: ‘Increasing PTS’(n=205, 10.0%) who had rapid deterioration of PTS symptoms, ‘Moderate PTS’(n=149, 8.0%) who had a high level of PTS symptoms at the beginning and slightly increasing, and ‘Persistent Minimal PTS’(n=1 633, 82.0%), who had slow resolution of PTS symptoms over time. Male, SARS-Co V-2 infection of a family member or friend, and having a lower CR and a higher ES, were more likely to have ‘Increasing PTS’. PTS at February 2020 predicted PTG only in ‘Increasing PTS’ class, and both CR and ES had moderating effects on the conversion between them. Conclusions: Most students recovered from posttraumatic stress of COVID-19 pandemic, but a small proportion expeienced increasing PTS symptoms, and those with this condition may benefit from emotional regulation intervention. 展开更多

How the brain, often seamlessly, selects, controls, and switches between languages is an enigma. Neuroimaging studies offer the unique opportunity to probe the mechanisms underlying bilingual brain function. Non-invasive methods, in particular, functional MRI (fMRI) and event-related potentials (ERPs), have allowed examination in healthy control populations. Whole-head magnetoencephalography (MEG), a relatively new addition to the cadre of neuroimaging tools, offers a combination of the high spatial resolution of fMRI with the high temporal resolution of ERPs. Thus far, MEG has been applied to the studies of bilingual receptive language, or bilingual language comprehension. MEG has not yet been applied to the study of bilingual language production as such studies have faced more challenges (see Salmelin, 2007 for a review), and these have only recently been addressed. Here, we review the literature on MEG expressive language studies and point out a direction for the application of MEG to the study of bilingual language production. 展开更多

Attribute-based encryption with keyword search(ABEKS)is a novel cryptographic paradigm that can be used to implementfine-grained access control and retrieve ciphertexts without disclosing the sensitive information. It is a perfect combination of attribute-based encryption(ABE)and public key encryption with keyword search(PEKS).Nevertheless, most of the existing ABEKS schemes have limited search capabilities and only support single or simple conjunctive keyword search.Due to the weak search capability and inaccurate search results,it is difficult to apply these schemes to practical applications. In this paper,an effi-cient expressive ABEKS(EABEKS)scheme supporting unbounded keyword uni-verse over prime-order groups is designed, which supplies the expressive keyword search function supporting the logical connectives of“AND”and“OR”.The proposed scheme not only leads to low computation and communica-tion costs, but also supports unbounded keyword universe. In the standard model, the scheme is proven to be secure under the chosen keyword attack and the cho-sen plaintext attack. The comparison analysis and experimental results show that it has better performance than the existing EABEKS schemes in the storage,com-putation and communication costs. 展开更多

[ Objective ] This study aimed to explore the effect of ginsenoside Rbl on expressive proteome of rat neurons by technologies of proteomics, bioinformat- ies and MS peptide fingerprinting. [ Method ] Rat neurons were cultured conventionally and randomly separated into two groups. The experimental group was trea- ted with 5 μg/rnl Rbl for 20 min, while control group was added with the same amount of medium. After cell lysis, the whole-cell protein was extracted. Two-di- mensional electrophoresis (2-DE) was used to separate the extracts. Differential expression of proteome between the two groups was analyzed by using ImageMaster 2D Platinum v5.0 software and the two protein spots expressed differently were selected for differential identification with MALDI-TOF-MS. [ Result] Based on the matching and comparative analysis of the protein spots, 418 protein spots were detected in experimental group, including 226 protein spots with differently expres- sive levels; according to the mass spectrometry, the two ginsenoside Rbl-related and differentially-expressed protein spots were identified as cytochrome P-450 and phosducin-like protein, and both of them were phosphorylated proteins. [ Conclusion ] This study showed that the functions of those identified proteins were in- volved in signal transduction, suggesting that the effect of ginsenoside Rbl on expressive proteome of rat neurons might be related to the corresponding signal trans- duction networks. 展开更多

Adorno suggests that art is an essentially expressive language since it is the imitation of natural language. Adorno's language thought is derived from Benjamin's extensive language theory in which Benjamin claims that all things including human being have languages. The telos of art's expression is expressing what the repressed things and human long for speaking. The authentic art preserves the trace of primordial human's instinct: mimesis. Through the subject miming the object in the expression of art, the real cognition is realized. According to this model, we can ascertain that artist is the real epistemological subject, the "collective subject" is factually the speaker of the expression and the epistemological objet which is primary in the production of art. Since art is a language, the standard of art is truth-false, and therefore, the truth content is the criterion of authentic art. Negativity is the core character of truth content. 展开更多

To improve the performance of human-computer interaction interfaces, emotion is considered to be one of the most important factors. The major objective of expressive speech synthesis is to inject various expressions reflecting different emotions to the synthesized speech. To effectively model and control the emotion, emotion intensity is introduced for expressive speech synthesis model to generate speech conveyed the delicate and complicate emotional states. The system was composed of an emotion analysis module with the goal of extracting control emotion intensity vector and a speech synthesis module responsible for mapping text characters to speech waveform. The proposed continuous variable “perception vector” is a data-driven approach of controlling the model to synthesize speech with different emotion intensities. Compared with the system using a one-hot vector to control emotion intensity, this model using perception vector is able to learn the high-level emotion information from low-level acoustic features. In terms of the model controllability and flexibility, both the objective and subjective evaluations demonstrate perception vector outperforms one-hot vector. 展开更多

AIM: To identify tumor associated genes of rectal cancer and to probe the application possibility of gene expression profiles for the classification of tumors.METHODS: Rectal cancer tissues and their paired normal mucosa were obtained from patients undergoing surgical resection of rectal cancer. Total RNA was extracted using Trizol reagents. First strand cDNA synthesis was indirectly labeled with aminoallyl-dUTP and coupled with Cy3 or Cy5 dye NHS mono-functional ester. After normalization to total spots, the genes which background subtracted intensity did not exceed 2 SD above the mean blank were excluded. The data were then sorted to obtain genes differentially expressed by ≥ 2 fold up or down in at least 5 of the 21 patients.RESULTS: In the 21 rectal cancer patients, 23 genes were up-regulated in at least 5 samples and 15 genes were down-regulated in at least 5 patients. Hierachical cluster analysis classified the patients into two groups according to the clinicopathological stage, with one group being all above stage Ⅱ and one group all below stage Ⅱ.CONCLUSION: The up-regulated genes and downregulated genes may be molecular markers of rectal cancer. The expression profiles can be used for classification of rectal cancer. 展开更多

Dendritic spines are small protrusions along dendrites that contain most of the excitatory synapses in principal neurons, playing a crucial role in neuronal function by creating a compartmentalized environment for signal transduction. The plasticity of spine morphologies provides a tunable handle to regulate calcium signal dynamics, allowing rapid regulation of protein expression necessary to establish and maintain synapses(Cornejo et al.,2022).If excitatory inputs were to be located primarily on dendritic shafts, dendrites would frequently short-circuit,preventing voltage signals from propagating(Cornejo et al.,2022).It is thus not surprising that the structural plasticity of dendritic spines is closely linked to synaptic plasticity and memory formation(Berry and Nedivi,2017).While comprehensive in vitro studies have been conducted,in vivo studies that directly tackle the mechanism of dendritic transport and translation in regulating spine plasticity spatiotemporally are limited. 展开更多

Microglia, the resident immune cells of the central nervous system, exhibit a wide array of functional states, even in their so-called“homeostatic”condition,when they are not actively responding to overt pathological stimuli. These functional states can be visualized using a combination of multi-omics techniques(e.g.,gene and protein expression, posttranslational modifications,mRNA profiling, and metabolomics),and,in the case of homeostatic microglia, are largely defined by the global(e.g.,genetic variations, organism’s age, sex, circadian rhythms, and gut microbiota)as well as local(specific area of the brain, immediate microglial surrounding,neuron-glia interactions and synaptic density/activity)signals(Paolicelli et al.,2022).While phenomics(i.e.,ultrastructural microglial morphology and motility)is also one of the key microglial state-defining parameters,it is known that cells with similar morphology can belong to different functional states. 展开更多
