It is found that the measured photolumineseence (PL) intensity is very sensitive to the size of metMlic disk, showing an enhancement factor of 11 when the optimal disk diameter is 2μm and the numerical aperture of microscope objective NA=0.5. It is found that for large metal disks, the Purcell effect is dominant for enhanced PL intensity, whereas for small size disks the main contribution comes from plasmon scattering at the disk edge within the light cone collected by the microscope objective.展开更多

Although the world has undergone different pandemics and disasters, the literature has shown that the new nurses still face uncertainty in dealing with health emergencies and disasters that impose significant stress on their performance at work. The situation in Oman is not different and little is known about the newly employed nurses’ experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic. Method: The qualitative study was designed to include face to face interviews of the newly employed nurses between May and December 2020 at the biggest tertiary hospital in Muscat, the capital of Oman to explore their experiences and how they confronted the COVID-19 pandemic challenges during their internship period. Result: The data was analyzed through qualitative manifest content analysis and disclosed different experiences which were framed into four contexts: Introductory Nurses Plan, Hospital Environment, Nurses Characters and Nurses Families & Relatives. The negative experiences were mainly related to the intense internship requirements, non-availability of the preceptors, hospital environment and COVID-19 circumstances. On the other hand, the positive experiences were mainly related to their self-motivation, recruitment satisfaction, and family encouragement and support. Conclusion: Clear nurses’ lack of knowledge towards COVID-19 pandemic was disclosed and associated with mixed emotional insights towards themselves, their families and relatives, their preceptors and towards the hospital environment including their preparatory plan. The study identified the nurses’ stressors and motivators that could be addressed with a clear need for preparatory adjustments to support newly employed nurses in future appointments with a lot of involvements shared responsibilities and implications.展开更多

Using purposive sampling, 34 property, real estate, and building construction firms listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2011 were selected. Empirical findings could not provide a significant relationship between audit committee characteristics and the overall value creation efficiency as well as capital employed efficiency. This implies that currently, the number of members, number of meetings, number of independent commissioners, and accounting or finance expertise in audit committee cannot be expected as drivers of business value creation in Indonesian context, more specifically for property, real estate, and building construction industry. The overall lack of significant relationships may potentially result from limited human capacity, lack of financial expertise, and inadequate knowledge about the role of audit committee to add value to the business.展开更多

Design and Setting: Longitudinal data were obtained from the Socio-economic Liewen zu Lëtzebuerg/European Union Survey on Income and Living Conditions, which has been conducted each year since 2003 in Luxembourg. Participants: Participants comprised 727 Luxembourg residents (58% men), aged between 21 and 55 years in 2003, who were employed between 2003 and 2012. Primary and Secondary Outcomes Measured: The variable of interest was self-reported health. We used transition indicators on work-related factors to consider changes that individuals may have experienced in their job over this period. Results: People who moved from a part-time to a full-time contract (odds ratio (OR): 5.52, confidence interval (CI): 1.55 - 19.73), and those who moved from the 3rd or 4th quartile of earnings to the 1st or 2nd quartile (OR: 2.48, CI: 1.02 - 6.05) between 2003 and 2012, had a higher risk of being in poor health in 2012. The risk of deterioration in self-reported health in 2012 among people who were healthy in 2003 was associated with the type of contract, economic activity, and occupation. Conclusion: Health inequalities occur among employed people in Luxembourg. Their importance varies according to work-related characteristics and economic activity. Our findings showed that declined health status was associated with contract type, profession, and economic activity. This suggests that measures should be taken to maintain good health for people working in these specific occupations or economic sectors (e.g. preventive action, reduction of risk exposure, change of occupation in the same company, and so on).展开更多

文摘The rapid advancement of the bioeconomy imposes increasingly stringent demands on bioengineering education.Drawing on data from the 2025 Chinese Undergraduate Employment Report and related sources, this study revealed that while employment placement rates for bioengineering graduates remain stable, starting salaries exhibit limited growth and career trajectories lack clarity. These challenges originate from a curriculum lagging behind technological progress, inadequate practical training, and a mismatch between student competencies and industry expectations. To address these issues, this paper proposed a strategic framework grounded in"demand-driven design,industry-education integration, and competence-centered development".Key strategies include dynamic curriculum renewal, collaborative university-industry training, holistic competency development, and personalized student support, which collectively aim at enhancing graduates employment competitiveness and long-term professional sustainability.

文摘In recent years,a new generation of robots integrated with artificial intelligence has rapidly proliferated across China.Drawing on firm-level tax survey data(2010-2016),city-level data(1999-2019),and micro-data from the China Labor-force Dynamics Survey(2012-2018),this paper constructs an instrumental variable based on city-level robot penetration to investigate the regional employment effects of robot adoption from multiple perspectives. The main findings are as follows:(1)Widespread robot adoption significantly strengthens the market position of incumbent firms, supports overall employment growth within these firms, and facilitates labor reallocation across sectors, with labor tending to shift toward industries characterized by larger average firm size.(2)Evidence at both the aggregated level and the individual level shows that while robot adoption markedly improves firm productivity,it slows the pace of job creation while simultaneously reducing job displacement. As a result, labor mobility at the regional level shows a declining trend.(3)Robot adoption generates significant market spillover effects. It fosters employment growth among incumbent firms but tends to slow the pace of entry of new firms,an important mechanism behind the observed deceleration in regional employment growth.(4)Heterogeneity analysis reveals that robots have a greater impact on job transitions for highly educated and middle-aged workers, increasing their preference for stable employment. No significant differences are found across occupational types or between genders in terms of job mobility impacts.
文摘As an old Chinese saying goes, knowledge changes fate.An ordinary college student carries expectations of several generations of his or her family.Consequently,a vast majority of high school graduates applying for college prefer to choose colleges and majors with good employment prospects. Two years ago, facing hundreds of majors,I was caught in a dilemma.Law seemed appealing,as it could offer a high income and a worry-free life.

文摘Dear Editor,Infertility refers to the inability to conceive after one year of regular unprotected intercourse, and as per the available estimates, close to 50 million couples are being affected worldwide[1].In many communities, infertility is regarded as a sign of personal failure, where individuals are blamed for their inability to conceive[2].It is not an unusual practice that people with infertility are excluded from social rituals like baby showers or functions related to parenthood[2].Women are generally considered solely responsible for the condition, while in reality,it can equally affect men[2].On the other hand, men experiencing infertility are subjected to mockery for a reduced sense of masculinity[3].In many communities and cultures, infertility is viewed as a genuine reason for relationship strain and eventually divorce[2].Amid the fear that people will judge them, many couples hide their infertility struggles, and this further plays an important role in increasing stigma[2,3].Further,in some organizations, employers might not consider infertile persons for promotion under the assumption that they do not have many financial responsibilities[3].

文摘Objective:To explore the associations between income levels, employment risk, lifestyles, occupational stress, and male fertility. Methods:This cross-sectional study analyzed 294 men seeking fertility treatment at fertility clinics in Terengganu,Pahang, and Kuala Lumpur from November 2021 to June 2023.Data were collected through structured questionnaires covering income levels, lifestyles, employment risks, occupational stress, and semen quality.Multinomial logistic regression was employed to assess predictors of semen quality, with crude and adjusted odds ratios(OR)reported. Results:The lower-income group exhibited higher odds of having abnormal semen quality compared to normal semen quality.Specifically, these participants were more likely to experience azoospermia[crude OR 6.68,95%confidence interval(CI)1.84-52.63;adjusted OR 6.26,95%CI 1.76-51.38],indicating a link between low income and infertility issues.Lifestyle factors did not show significant associations with semen abnormalities after adjustment.High employment risks had significant associations with oligozoospermia after adjustment(crude OR 5.50,95%CI 2.14-14.11;adjusted OR 5.15,95%CI 1.93-13.71),while high occupational stress was linked to asthenozoospermia(crude OR 2.26,95%CI 1.09-4.68;adjusted OR 2.25,95%CI 1.07-4.69).Conclusions:The findings underscore the influence of socioeconomic and occupational factors on male fertility, showing associations between lower income levels,high-risk occupations, and semen abnormalities. In contrast, lifestyle factors did not show significant associations with semen abnormalities after adjustment.Nevertheless, the current findings should be further confirmed through more extensive studies focusing on abnormal semen and lifestyle factors.
文摘Background:Employment can support the recovery of individuals with Severe Mental Disorders by promoting autonomy, reducing hospital admissions and associated costs, fostering social connections, and providing structure to their daily lives. The objective of this pilot study was to analyse job satisfaction and perceived social support in people with severe mental disorders who are users of an Employment Guidance and Support Service in southern Spain. Methods:A descriptive cross-sectional pilot study was carried out with a sample of 39 workers with mental disorders from the province of Huelva(southern Spain)who were users of the Employment Guidance and Support Service of the Regional Government of Andalusia(Spain).Perceived Organisational Support was assessed with the Spanish short version of the Survey of Perceived Organizational Support and the S10/12 Job Satisfaction Questionnaire. Results:As findings,87.2%of the sample reported high levels of job satisfaction, and 61.5%of the subjects surveyed perceived high levels of support.Regarding the variable Perceived Support,84%of workers from ordinary companies and 50%of those from Special Employment Centres(SECs)considered that they had sufficient support. There was a positive correlation between support and satisfaction(Spearman’s Rho=0.423).Conclusion:The results suggest a positive relationship between support and satisfaction, warranting further longitudinal research with larger samples. This pilot study provides preliminary insights into the relationship between perceived organizational support and job satisfaction among workers with severe mental disorders.

文摘This study explored the relationship between perceived social support and employment anxiety among Chinese college students,as well as the mediating and moderating effects of psychological resilience and career adaptability on this relationship.A total of 1928 college students(females=1371,mean age=20.42,SD=1.05)completed the Perceived Social Support Scale,Employment Anxiety Questionnaire,Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale and Career Adapt-Abilities Scale.Mediation analysis results showed that psychological resilience mediated the relationship between perceived social support and employment anxiety for lower employment anxiety.Career adaptability moderated the mediating effect of psychological resilience for lower employment anxiety than with either of the variables alone.Thefindings are consistent with cognitive diathesis-stress theory and career construction theory which propose that individuals’cognitive structures and psychological predispositions interact with environmental stressors to shape their career development and psychological well-being.Essentially,students who have a robust social support system, high career adaptability, and are psychologically resilient are less likely to experience employment anxiety.
