Using factor analysis,we derive that the model includes three factors: skill literacy, relationship literacy and basic literacy. The weights of each factor are 0. 580,0. 244 and 0. 174 8,respectively. Skill literacy is affected by skill level, learning ability, career aspiration, ability to analyze problems, physical health status and other factors. Relationship literacy is affected by the sense of teamwork, interpersonal skills, social support and other factors. Basic literacy is affected by educational level, hardworking spirit and other factors. According to the results,we put forth the following recommendations to improve the new generation migrant workers' employability: strengthening the vocational skill training; coordinating the vocational education resources.展开更多

The term of non-technical skills is also called as employability skills. The research with topic analysis and development ofemployability skills of polytechnic students aims to: describe supervisors' perceptions of the importance of the employability skills needed in the workplace; describe supervisors' perceptions of the students' level of competence at performing the employability skills; and find the attributes of employability skills that are need to prioritize for development. Research sample has been selected by using a stratified random sampling from the supervisor of last year students when they are on the job training in industry. Total 146 supervisors participated in this research. The Employability Skills Questionnaire with a five-point Liken scale was used to assess perceptions level of importance of identified employability skills and students' level of competence. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, means and standard deviations, and priority development analysis. Three main groups of the employability skills with highest important level are: workplace health and safety, self-management, and team working. Students have a high level of competence in occupational health and safety, self-management and learning skills. There are three attributes of employability skills in high priority category for developed: knowing the benefits of computer application programs are needed in the work, taking the initiative in organizing activities, and participating in learning activities to gain new experience.展开更多

At the beginning (2 months in) and the end (9 months) of the academic year, 973 newly registered students participated in this study involving two cross-university surveys. Students who redoubled or who had studied at other universities were excluded. Data were collected with an online questionnaire comprising the psychological Whoqol-bref subscale, AES scale, and questions about other related factors. The AES score decreased from 74.2 to 65.6. At both time points, the psychological Whoqol-bref was positively correlated with environmental and social relations QoL and perceived general health. Multiple regression models including interaction terms showed that a higher psychological QoL was associated with better general health (difference satisfied-dissatisfied 9.44), AES (slope 0.099), social relationships QoL (0.321), and environmental QoL (0.298). No interaction with time effects was significant, which indicates that the effects remain stable with time. If the university could maintain the QoL indicators at appropriate levels or manage decreases as they occur, it would have implications for health promotion and the creation of new student support systems. The SQA- LES project provides valuable information for universities aiming to develop a European Higher Educational Area.展开更多

Purposive sampling technique was used to select graduates, institutions and industries within Takoradi, Cape Coast, Kumasi and Accra metropolis all in Ghana. Three different questionnaires inter-spaced with interviews were designed and used to collect data from the field according to a pre-determined stratified scheme. A total of 200 informants including 68 industries, 120 graduates and 12 institutions were used. The data was coded and keyed into SPSS version 20. Tables and Charts were used to explore the data. Principal component (PC) analysis was employed to extract hidden factors industries consider in graduate employability decisions. The PC method identified and extracted six hidden factors: ability to set SMART goals and structure actions;ability to demonstrate a willingness to embrace new systems, processes, technology and ideas;a determined, committed, resilient, and focused person;a person with passion for driving profit;ability to deconstruct a problem or situation;and clear and unprompted ability to present information to a group. These six hidden factors could explain 68.8% of the variances in graduate employability decisions. We recommend that internships be properly planned and executed with the involvement of industry players, facilitators of learning, and the ministry of trade and industries. In addition, facilitators should inculcate into students’ important traits and attributes identified in this study.展开更多

文摘The rapid advancement of the bioeconomy imposes increasingly stringent demands on bioengineering education.Drawing on data from the 2025 Chinese Undergraduate Employment Report and related sources, this study revealed that while employment placement rates for bioengineering graduates remain stable, starting salaries exhibit limited growth and career trajectories lack clarity. These challenges originate from a curriculum lagging behind technological progress, inadequate practical training, and a mismatch between student competencies and industry expectations. To address these issues, this paper proposed a strategic framework grounded in"demand-driven design,industry-education integration, and competence-centered development".Key strategies include dynamic curriculum renewal, collaborative university-industry training, holistic competency development, and personalized student support, which collectively aim at enhancing graduates employment competitiveness and long-term professional sustainability.

文摘In recent years,a new generation of robots integrated with artificial intelligence has rapidly proliferated across China.Drawing on firm-level tax survey data(2010-2016),city-level data(1999-2019),and micro-data from the China Labor-force Dynamics Survey(2012-2018),this paper constructs an instrumental variable based on city-level robot penetration to investigate the regional employment effects of robot adoption from multiple perspectives. The main findings are as follows:(1)Widespread robot adoption significantly strengthens the market position of incumbent firms, supports overall employment growth within these firms, and facilitates labor reallocation across sectors, with labor tending to shift toward industries characterized by larger average firm size.(2)Evidence at both the aggregated level and the individual level shows that while robot adoption markedly improves firm productivity,it slows the pace of job creation while simultaneously reducing job displacement. As a result, labor mobility at the regional level shows a declining trend.(3)Robot adoption generates significant market spillover effects. It fosters employment growth among incumbent firms but tends to slow the pace of entry of new firms,an important mechanism behind the observed deceleration in regional employment growth.(4)Heterogeneity analysis reveals that robots have a greater impact on job transitions for highly educated and middle-aged workers, increasing their preference for stable employment. No significant differences are found across occupational types or between genders in terms of job mobility impacts.
文摘As an old Chinese saying goes, knowledge changes fate.An ordinary college student carries expectations of several generations of his or her family.Consequently,a vast majority of high school graduates applying for college prefer to choose colleges and majors with good employment prospects. Two years ago, facing hundreds of majors,I was caught in a dilemma.Law seemed appealing,as it could offer a high income and a worry-free life.
