This paper presents employer branding as an approach based on effective strategic organizational resources and a precise employer branding management process. In this paper, the target is to define a possible frame in order to interpret employer branding techniques as control and regulation mechanisms. Control in organizations has long been a topic of interest for researchers and practitioners, alike who generally recognize that control mechanisms are needed to ensure that organizations may achieve their goals. It has been carried out a field work on the Italian Aeronautical Meta district, that generates annual revenues equal to EUR 8.7 billion and employees 36,300 people, of whom approximately 10% are employed in the space sector. Through this field work, the intention aim is to understand if and how employer branding may create, enforce, and set up internal and shared meaning and values. In particular, stemming from the empirical research's evidences, this paper tries to conceptualize employer branding as a factor to persuade and influence the way that organizational actors enact in a socially constructed context. In this effort, the aim is to understand how managers may affect meanings, values goals, and opinions through an effective action on employer branding that can play a crucial role in affecting sense-making processes, meanings, interpretations of the symbolic environment. The paper therefore opens up to new horizons, since it embraces a new application for employer branding, considering it as a modern control system and proposing an innovative approach in managerial control, founded on organizational identity as a key concept in an organizational citizenship's perspective展开更多

It is based on a questionnaire, in which eight criteria of quality and two open-ended questions are listed. The participants were asked to rate the eight criteria. The results suggest that different employer groups share similar expectations on high-quality interpretation, but the value they attach to each criterion varies according to their affiliations. Consequently, their skill development is a key component in ascertaining their abilities to match work requirements to the satisfaction of their employers. Training and education of these professionals requires involvement of the relevant stakeholders to apt their technical skills in preparation of the role to be undertaken. Thus, the universities and other institutions of higher learning, in their efforts to improve graduate output should understand the labor market. Additionally, due to constant transformation and reorganization of strategies and plans by practitioner organizations, employers’ perspective in assessing graduates’ abilities and performance is necessary. Aim: The purpose of this study was to assess the employers’ perspectives on the graduates’ abilities to handle work demands. Methods: A cross sectional descriptive study design involving employers and graduates of environmental health program of Moi University using mixed methods was carried out. Pretested semi structured paper questionnaires were administered to 45 employers, while online survey was carried out on 227 sampled graduates. In-depth interviews were further subjected to the graduates to corroborate issues raised. Quantitative data analysis was done using statistical package for social scientists (SPSS) version 20 where the data was summarized using frequencies and proportions. Qualitative data was thematically analyzed. Results: The overall employer assessment of the graduates’ abilities to handle work demands was satisfactory with 18 (46.1% 7 of the employers rating them as good). On self-assessment, 116 (61.7%) of the graduates reported not to have faced any skills competency challenge at their work place and only 57 (30.3%) reported adequacy in skills acquired during undergraduate training. From the in-depth interviews, the graduates applauded the current curriculum implementation strategy of Problem Based Learning (PBL) but faulted the infrastructural inadequacies for low competencies and inadequate skills. The in-depth interviews further revealed a picture of graduates struggling with skills’ mismatch in their job placement. Conclusion: The study revealed a good rating by employers on the graduates’ competency skills but a high proportion (69.7%) of graduates reported lack of adequate skills to match their work demands. Recommendations: Institutions of higher learning need to invest in infrastructural elements of curriculum implementation to boost more practical sessions for better skills’ acquisition that matches the industrial needs.展开更多

After a summary of central problems concerning the German health sector and its current challenges, the study design behind the systematic content analysis as well as its criteria are presented. Selected results describe characteristics of expert literature for employer attractiveness in general, the attractiveness of German hospitals as employers (“hospital employer attractiveness” for short) as well as employer attractiveness from a medical doctor’s point of view. 文摘Objective:To explore the associations between income levels, employment risk, lifestyles, occupational stress, and male fertility. Methods:This cross-sectional study analyzed 294 men seeking fertility treatment at fertility clinics in Terengganu,Pahang, and Kuala Lumpur from November 2021 to June 2023.Data were collected through structured questionnaires covering income levels, lifestyles, employment risks, occupational stress, and semen quality.Multinomial logistic regression was employed to assess predictors of semen quality, with crude and adjusted odds ratios(OR)reported. Results:The lower-income group exhibited higher odds of having abnormal semen quality compared to normal semen quality.Specifically, these participants were more likely to experience azoospermia[crude OR 6.68,95%confidence interval(CI)1.84-52.63;adjusted OR 6.26,95%CI 1.76-51.38],indicating a link between low income and infertility issues.Lifestyle factors did not show significant associations with semen abnormalities after adjustment.High employment risks had significant associations with oligozoospermia after adjustment(crude OR 5.50,95%CI 2.14-14.11;adjusted OR 5.15,95%CI 1.93-13.71),while high occupational stress was linked to asthenozoospermia(crude OR 2.26,95%CI 1.09-4.68;adjusted OR 2.25,95%CI 1.07-4.69).Conclusions:The findings underscore the influence of socioeconomic and occupational factors on male fertility, showing associations between lower income levels,high-risk occupations, and semen abnormalities. In contrast, lifestyle factors did not show significant associations with semen abnormalities after adjustment.Nevertheless, the current findings should be further confirmed through more extensive studies focusing on abnormal semen and lifestyle factors.
文摘Background:Employment can support the recovery of individuals with Severe Mental Disorders by promoting autonomy, reducing hospital admissions and associated costs, fostering social connections, and providing structure to their daily lives. The objective of this pilot study was to analyse job satisfaction and perceived social support in people with severe mental disorders who are users of an Employment Guidance and Support Service in southern Spain. Methods:A descriptive cross-sectional pilot study was carried out with a sample of 39 workers with mental disorders from the province of Huelva(southern Spain)who were users of the Employment Guidance and Support Service of the Regional Government of Andalusia(Spain).Perceived Organisational Support was assessed with the Spanish short version of the Survey of Perceived Organizational Support and the S10/12 Job Satisfaction Questionnaire. Results:As findings,87.2%of the sample reported high levels of job satisfaction, and 61.5%of the subjects surveyed perceived high levels of support.Regarding the variable Perceived Support,84%of workers from ordinary companies and 50%of those from Special Employment Centres(SECs)considered that they had sufficient support. There was a positive correlation between support and satisfaction(Spearman’s Rho=0.423).Conclusion:The results suggest a positive relationship between support and satisfaction, warranting further longitudinal research with larger samples. This pilot study provides preliminary insights into the relationship between perceived organizational support and job satisfaction among workers with severe mental disorders.

文摘This study explored the relationship between perceived social support and employment anxiety among Chinese college students,as well as the mediating and moderating effects of psychological resilience and career adaptability on this relationship.A total of 1928 college students(females=1371,mean age=20.42,SD=1.05)completed the Perceived Social Support Scale,Employment Anxiety Questionnaire,Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale and Career Adapt-Abilities Scale.Mediation analysis results showed that psychological resilience mediated the relationship between perceived social support and employment anxiety for lower employment anxiety.Career adaptability moderated the mediating effect of psychological resilience for lower employment anxiety than with either of the variables alone.Thefindings are consistent with cognitive diathesis-stress theory and career construction theory which propose that individuals’cognitive structures and psychological predispositions interact with environmental stressors to shape their career development and psychological well-being.Essentially,students who have a robust social support system, high career adaptability, and are psychologically resilient are less likely to experience employment anxiety.
