This study employed integrated multi-omics approaches to elucidate,from the perspective of amino acid metabolism,the adaptive mechanism of Penicillium digitatum under modified atmosphere packaging(MAP)conditions.Comparative analysis of natural air(Air),controlled atmosphere(CA),and MAP treatments revealed that MAP upregulated the expression of the hercynylcysteine S-oxide synthase(HCSOS),aldehyde dehydrogenase(ALDH),and monoamine oxidase(MAO)genes,thereby enhancing histidine-derived ergothioneine and methionine levels,and subsequently boosting glutathione-mediated redox homeostasis.Meanwhile,MAP induced the expression of the dihydroxyacid dehydratase(DHAD),saccharopine dehydrogenase(SDH),and arginosuccinate lyase(ASL)genes,redirecting valine,lysine,and arginine into the tricarboxylic acid(TCA)cycle to fuel ATP production.MAP also enhanced ASL-mediated arginine degradation and urea cycle activity,reducing arginine accumulation when compared to CA treatment.In contrast,while MAP induced upregulated expression of the pyrroline-5-carboxylate dehydrogenase(P5CDH)and D-amino acid oxidase(DAAO)genes,CA treatment promoted proline accumulation,reflecting stress-specific metabolic flexibility.Collectively,these findings demonstrate that MAP triggers transcriptional reprogramming of amino acid metabolism to coordinate oxidative defense,energy generation,and osmotic balance.By modulating these metabolic pathways and regulatory genes under MAP conditions,fungal adaptability can be disrupted.Hence,this study provides a promising strategy for suppressing green mold development,extending the postharvest shelf life,and improving the quality of fruits and vegetables. 展开更多

Biobased Biodegradable Plastics for Food Packaging:Recent Progress,Feasibility and Limitations

Biobased biodegradable plastics have gained increasing attention as sustainable alternatives to petroleum-based materials in food packaging,offering biodegradability,renewability,and reduced environmental impact.This review adopts a narrative review approach,integrating studies published between 2015 and 2025 from major databases to critically evaluate the recent advances,feasibility,and limitations of biobased biodegradable plastics in food packaging.Literature was thematically analyzed by material type and functional enhancement to assess their feasibility and limitations for sustainable packaging applications.Recent advances have focused on enhancing their mechanical,barrier,and functional properties through polymer blending,nanoparticle reinforcement,and incorporation of natural bioactive agents.Starch-based bioplastics,derived from renewable sources such as corn and cassava,have been improved by blending with polylactic acid(PLA)or polybutylene succinate(PBS)and reinforcing with nanocellulose or silica to enhance flexibility,strength,and thermal stability.Incorporating plant extracts and polyphenols has added antioxidant and antimicrobial functions.PLA-based films have benefited from nanoparticle fillers like zinc oxide and lignin nanoparticles,and the integration of bioactive compounds such as tea polyphenols and hop extract has enabled multifunctional,intelligent packaging with controlled release and UV protection.Polyhydroxyalkanoates(PHAs),producedmicrobially,have been functionalizedwith tannins,ferulic acid,and other natural agents to achieve high antioxidant,antibacterial,and UV-blocking performance,while multilayer coatings have improved moisture and gas resistance.PBS composites have been enhanced using nanofillers like silver or magnesium oxide and natural additives such as quercetin and essential oils,thereby improving durability and bioactivity.Emerging materials,including chitosan-,protein-,and polysaccharide-based films,show excellent film-forming ability and compatibility with natural antimicrobials;smart systems with pH-sensing and UV-shielding functions further extend food shelf life.Despite remaining challenges such as cost,moisture sensitivity,limited scalability,and potential competition with food resources,recent progress demonstrates that biobased biodegradable plastics hold strong potential to advance sustainable,high-performance food packaging,particularly when waste is valorized.Future research should focus on improving the cost-effectiveness,scalability,and moisture resistance of biobased biodegradable plastics,while advancing waste-derived feedstocks,multifunctional smart packaging,and comprehensive life cycle assessments to ensure sustainable and practical food packaging solutions. 展开更多

This study aims to synthesise,characterise and evaluate the performance characteristics of packaging films based on biodegradable natural resources incorporated with nanoparticles.Particularly,it is focused on the valorisation of the fibers from the underexploited Lonchocarpus cyanescens plant fromWest Africa as raw renewable lignocellulosebiomassmaterial source for the productionof carboxymethylcellulose(CMC).To this end,biodegradable films were prepared from CMC derived from the fibers of the Lonchocarpus cyanescens plant,and collagen.In order to improve the properties of these films,in particular their mechanical and humidity resistance and their ability to fight microbes,silver nanoparticles(Ag NPs),titanium dioxide nanoparticles(TiO2 NPs),as well as heterostructure Ag@TiO2 nanocomposite were incorporated.The different products obtained were characterised by differentmethods,including DLS,UV-VIS,SEM,contact angle,UTM,absorption and antimicrobial activity tests.The results show that the hybrid biocomposite films exhibit good mechanical properties,improved moisture resistance,and a significant antimicrobial effect against certain pathogenic bacteria.In particular,the synergy between Ag and TiO_(2) nanoparticles in the heterostructure Ag@TiO_(2) nanocomposite optimized the performance characteristics of the packaging films,particularly in terms of mechanical properties with a maximum stress of 38.77 MPa and a strain of 9%,low water absorption reaching 50% at 48 h,improved hydrophobic behaviorwith contact angle of 87°,and antimicrobial resistance compared with the control film without nanoparticles.This work highlights the valorisation of an underexploitedWest African local plant and contributes to the search for sustainable solutions for food packaging. 展开更多

Layered Feature Engineering for E-Commerce Purchase Prediction:A Hierarchical Evaluation on Taobao User Behavior Datasets

Accurate purchase prediction in e-commerce critically depends on the quality of behavioral features.This paper proposes a layered and interpretable feature engineering framework that organizes user signals into three layers:Basic,Conversion&Stability(efficiency and volatility across actions),and Advanced Interactions&Activity(crossbehavior synergies and intensity).Using real Taobao(Alibaba’s primary e-commerce platform)logs(57,976 records for 10,203 users;25 November–03 December 2017),we conducted a hierarchical,layer-wise evaluation that holds data splits and hyperparameters fixed while varying only the feature set to quantify each layer’s marginal contribution.Across logistic regression(LR),decision tree,random forest,XGBoost,and CatBoost models with stratified 5-fold cross-validation,the performance improvedmonotonically fromBasic to Conversion&Stability to Advanced features.With LR,F1 increased from 0.613(Basic)to 0.962(Advanced);boosted models achieved high discrimination(0.995 AUC Score)and an F1 score up to 0.983.Calibration and precision–recall analyses indicated strong ranking quality and acknowledged potential dataset and period biases given the short(9-day)window.By making feature contributions measurable and reproducible,the framework complements model-centric advances and offers a transparent blueprint for production-grade behavioralmodeling.The code and processed artifacts are publicly available,and future work will extend the validation to longer,seasonal datasets and hybrid approaches that combine automated feature learning with domain-driven design. 展开更多

Cross-border e-commerce pilot zones and corporate carbon emissions reduction:A quasi-natural experiment from China

Against the backdrop of accelerated development of new forms of trade,the question of whether rapid expansion of cross-border e-commerce(CBEC)can help to reduce carbon emissions among Chinese enterprises is of great significance for seizing new opportunities in foreign trade,and advancing firms’green and low-carbon transformation.This study treats the creation of CBEC pilot zones as a quasi-natural experiment,employing panel data from Chinese A-share listed companies matched with city-level information from 2006 to 2021.We construct a multi-period difference-in-differences model to identify the impact of CBEC pilot zone policy on corporate carbon emissions.Our findings indicate the construction of these pilot zones significantly reduces firms’carbon emissions intensity,and the results are robust across multiple tests.We show the pilot zone initiative contributes to emission reductions by enhancing the adoption of digital infrastructure,promoting green technological innovation,and increasing environmental awareness among enterprises.Quantile regressions reveal pilot zones exert a more pronounced carbon-reduction effect on firms characterized by high carbon emissions intensity and advanced levels of digital transformation.Moreover,the policy effect is especially significant in heavily polluting industries,and regions with weaker governmental environmental regulations or lower public environmental concerns.This study makes an innovative contribution to the literature by empirically verifying the environmental governance effect of establishing CBEC pilot zones,and offers practical guidance for governments in formulating cross-border e-commerce policies and for enterprises pursuing low carbon development. 展开更多

Corn starch(CS)is a renewable,biodegradable polysaccharide valued for its film-forming ability,yet native CS films exhibit lowmechanical strength,highwater sensitivity,and limited thermal stability.This study improves CS-based films by blending with poly(vinyl alcohol)(PVA)or glycerol(GLY)and using citric acid(CA)as a green,non-toxic cross-linker.Composite films were prepared by casting CS–PVA or CS-GLY with CA at 0%-0.20%(w/w of starch).The influence of CA on physicochemical,mechanical,optical,thermal,and water barrier properties was evaluated.CA crosslinking markedly enhanced the tensile strength,water resistance,and thermal stability of CS-PVA films while increasing transparency in CS–GLY films.At 0.20%CA,the composite achieved 34.99MPa tensile strength,reducedwater vapor permeability,andminimized water uptake.FTIR confirmed ester bond formation between CAand hydroxyl groups of CS,PVA,and GLY,whereas thermal analysis showed higher decomposition temperatures and lower weight loss in crosslinked films.Increasing CA levels also decreased opacity and improved light transmittance,indicating greater homogeneity and reduced crystallinity.This dual-polymer matrix combined with a natural crosslinking strategy provides a sustainable route to high-performance,biodegradable CS-based packaging materials. 展开更多

Owing to superior breakdown voltage and excellent robustness,the betagallium oxide(β-Ga_(2)O_(3))power device has emerged as a pivotal research frontier in power electronics.Although advanced packaging strategies,including nanosilver paste sintering,alumina direct bond copper(DBC)substrates,and flipchip structures,have been adopted to mitigate the intrinsic low thermal conductivity ofβ-Ga_(2)O_(3).However,a further reduction in the thermal resistance while maintaining high reliability remains a challenge.This study introduces a novel packaging methodology that synergistically integrates nano-silver films with aluminum nitride active metal brazing(AMB-AlN)substrates,achieving an ultra-low junction-to-case thermal resistance.By comprehensive reliability assessments onβ-Ga_(2)O_(3) Schottky barrier diodes(SBDs)and hetero-junction diodes(HJDs),the results demonstrate that the SBDs and HJDs exhibit surge current densities of 0.876 kA/cm^(2) and 0.778 kA/cm^(2),respectively,which represents a significant advancement in device performance benchmarks.These advancements provide critical insights into packaging design for highreliability ultrawide bandgap semiconductor systems. 展开更多

The integration of the digital economy with the traditional sales industry has prompted the robust growth of e-commerce.Live-streaming e-commerce,as a novel business model,has gained immense popularity.However,is⁃sues of regulatory loopholes and inefficacy continue to surface.In live-streaming e-commerce,the head anchor,as host of the live-streaming rooms,wields significant influence in determining the goods to be showcased and marketed.Such influence expands risks such as infringement of intellectual property rights.Yet the uncertainty in law concerning the identity of head anchors results in a lack of accountability.Current norms are inadequate in constraining the group of head anchors.Drawing on the principles of risk control,the alignment between benefit and risk,and the theory of so⁃cial cost control,this paper argues that it is both justifiable and feasible to impose a duty to exercise reasonable care on head anchors.To effectively enshrine this duty in law,it is of great importance to redefine the mechanism of identifying the duty of care of head anchors in live-streaming e-commerce.In particular,the contents of the duty of care under⁃taken by head anchors and the consequences of breaching such a duty of care should be clarified. 展开更多

Petrochemical plastics are widely used for food protection and preservation;however,they exhibit poor biodegradability,resisting natural degradation through physical,chemical,or enzymatic processes.As a sustainable alternative to conventional plastic packaging,edible films offer effective barriers against moisture,gases,and microbial contamination while being biodegradable,biocompatible,and environmentally friendly.In this study,novel active food packaging materials(in film form)were developed by incorporating starch,carrageenan,nanocellulose(NC),Aloe vera,and hibiscus flower extract.The effects of varying the matrix composition(26.5–73.5 wt.%starch/carrageenan),NC concentration(2.77-17.07 wt.%),and particle type(fibers or crystals)on the film structure and characteristics were analyzed using various methods.Scanning electron microscopy demonstrated good homogeneity and effective dispersion of NC within the blendmatrix.An increased carrageenan content in the filmimproved wettability,moisture absorption,solubility,and water vapor permeability.The mechanical properties of the films were enhanced by NC incorporation and higher carrageenan content.The developed films also exhibited effective UV radiation barriers and biodegradability.Films with low carrageenan content(less than 33.3%)and high NC content(7%,10% crystals or 10%,15% fibers)exhibited optimal properties,including enhanced water resistance,hydrophobicity,and mechanical strength,along with reduced water vapor permeability.However,the high water solubility and moisture absorption(above 55% and 14%,respectively)indicated their unsuitability as packaging materials for food products with wet surfaces and high humidity.The results suggest that these films are well suited for use as edible food packaging for fruits and vegetables. 展开更多

Cross-border e-commerce,as a new form of international trade,has shown great development potential in the context of the“Belt and Road”initiative.Based on the cross-border e-commerce export data from 2015 to 2024,this paper analyzes the influencing factors of China's cross-border e-commerce exports to countries along the“Belt and Road”by constructing an econometric model.The study found that factors such as the perfection of digital infrastructure,the efficiency of logistics and transportation,the convenience of payment and settlement,and the penetration rate of consumers online shopping significantly affect the export scale of cross-border e-commerce.Institutional factors such as the development level of e-commerce platforms in countries along the route,market access thresholds,and tariff policies also play an important role.Based on the research results,suggestions are put forward to strengthen the construction of cross-border payment system,optimize the logistics distribution network,promote customs clearance facilitation,and deepen cooperation in the field of e-commerce,to provide references for promoting the development of China's crossborder e-commerce exports to countries along the“Belt and Road.” 展开更多

The present study monitored bacterial succession,physicochemical properties,and volatile organic compounds(VOCs)changes in smoked chicken legs with modified atmosphere packaging(MAP,60% CO_(2) and 40%N_(2))during a 25-day storage period at 4℃.After 15 days of storage,S erratia proteamaculans and Pseudomonas fragi became the predominant bacteria.Furthermore,physicochemical properties changed significantly,as evidenced by an increase in thiobarbituric acid reactive substances and b*(yellowness)value,and a decrease in hardness.A total of 65 VOCs were identified during storage.Correlation between bacterial succession and quality indicators(including VOCs and physicochemical properties)allowed the identification of 26 core dominant bacteria,including S.proteamaculans,Psychrobacter alimentarius,Pseudomonas putida,and Pseudomonas poae,which were positively related to spoilage VOCs(e.g.,1-octen-3-ol,1-pentanol,and 3-methyl-1-butanol)and could be defined as specific spoilage organisms(SSOs).The results of this study provide a systematic approach to predict SSOs in smoked chicken legs during storage,which can also provide a basis for product safety. 展开更多

Cross-border e-commerce has emerged as a new growth point in foreign trade.While the Dalian comprehensive pilot zone has made some progress,its development is constrained by issues such as the global economic slowdown,the relatively small scale of cross-border e-commerce,a high concentration of export commodities,imperfect information mechanisms,and high overall costs.To address these challenges,this paper explores the importance of the construction of the Dalian comprehensive pilot zone for cross-border e-commerce to the transformation and upgrading of exports.Based on my research project,“Research on Path Optimization of Financial Support for the Development of Advanced Manufacturing Clusters in Dalian,”this paper analyzes the current challenges and limiting factors and proposes corresponding countermeasures and suggestions. 展开更多

Packaging materials are indispensable in modern industries but also significantly contribute to environmental degradation,resource consumption,and waste generation.This systematic review critically assesses the integration of artificial intelligence(AI),life cycle sustainability assessment(LCSA)following ISO 14040 standards,and circularity mapping to overcome sustainability barriers in packaging.The study identifies environmental,economic,and social hotspots across the life cycle stages of packaging materials by examining real-worldcase studies such as Coca-Cola’s adoption of recycled PET bottles andUnilever’s commitment to 100% recyclable plastic.AI technologies highlight transformative tools for optimising resource allocation,enhancing waste management,and supporting predictive maintenance in packaging systems.To maximise their impact,circular economy(CE)strategies,including material substitution,reusable packaging,and recycling,are discussed with AI-driven approaches.Policy frameworks like mandatory life cycle reporting and AI-focused capacity-building initiatives drive systemic change.The packaging industry achieves significant sustainability improvements by combining LCSA,CE principles,and AI while fostering economic benefits and social equity.This paper provides a comprehensive foundation for future research and practical applications to transform the packaging sector into a more sustainable and circular system.This review is the first to integrate LCSA,circular economy mapping,and AI applications in sustainable packaging.It highlights practical strategies and identifies research gaps to guide academia,industry,and policymakers toward scalable and intelligent sustainability solutions.Moreover,the review bridges methodological rigour with practical implementation by aligning digital intelligence with material sustainability frameworks,thus forming a multidisciplinary blueprint for a circular future in packaging. 展开更多

Mapping Research Trends in Green Packaging:A Bibliometric Review(2000–2023)

With over 141 million tons of packaging waste generated globally each year and limited recycling efficiency,packaging pollution has become a pressing environmental issue,driving increased scholarly interest in green packaging.However,existing studies have primarily focused on individual domains,lacking a systematic and comprehensive review,which restricts interdisciplinary integration and obscures overarching trends and gaps.To address this,we conducted a bibliometric analysis of green packaging research using CiteSpace and VOSviewer,drawing on peer-reviewed English-language articles published between 2000 and 2023 in the Web of Science Core Collection.The analysis examined collaboration networks,co-citation patterns,and keyword co-occurrence trends.Results reveal significant growth in publications since 2018,with research spanning environmental science,food technology,and business,alongside increasing interdisciplinary integration.Collaboration networks are particularly strong within China and Malaysia,though international collaboration remains limited,while co-citation analysis highlights high-impact work on material performance,consumer behavior,and supply chain strategies,with life cycle assessment emerging as the most widely applied analytical tool.This study synthesizes the current knowledge framework,identifies key trends and challenges,and outlines future research directions-including consumer payment behavior,corporate sustainability strategies,and the development of innovative packaging materials-providing strategic guidance for advancing green packaging research. 展开更多

The extensive use of polymeric materials in single-use packaging has driven the need to develop biodegradable alternatives.This study investigates the incorporation of graphene oxide(GO)and Moringa oleifera seed oil(MOSO)into a gelatin matrix to create polymer films and evaluate their potential as active packaging materials.The properties of these films were evaluated using structural,thermal,mechanical,optical,and physicochemical methods to determine their suitability for food packaging applications.The results showed that GO and MOSO were homogeneously dispersed in the gelatin matrix,forming colloidal particles(around 5μm in diameter).The addition of GO increased opacity by approximately 20 times the base value while MOSO affected light transmittance without impacting opacity.Mechanical properties were affected differently,GO acted as a crosslinking agent reducing elongation and increasing tensile strength at break,on the other hand MOSO acted as a plasticizer,making films more plastic increasing elongation a 30%.These effects counteracted each other,and similar behavior was recorded in differential scanning calorimetry.The films exhibited an improved water vapor resistance,which is crucial for food packaging.These findings indicate that the incorporation of GO and MOSO into a gelatin matrix may produce biodegradable polymer films with enhanced properties,suitable for active packaging in the food industry. 展开更多
