Dyeing Behavior of Yak Hair Fiber Treated with Microwave Low Temperature Plasma 被引量:2

The scales on the surface of yak hair fiber act as barriers during the dyeing process. In order to solve the scale problem and to improve the dyeability of yak hair, yak hair fiber was treated by microwave low temperature plasma (MLTP) in this study. The weight loss and the dyeing properties of the yak hair fiber modified by MLTP were investigated. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) photographs were taken to observe the changes in the surface shape of yak hair fiber before and after treatment. Results showed that after MLTP treatment, the scale structure of yak hair was weakened and damaged greatly and the noticeable changes on the surface shape took place. At the same time, a significant improvement in dyeing properties of yak hair fiber was exhibited. 展开更多

Low Temperature Dyeing and Shrinkage-Resistance Finishing of Wool by Composition of Salt-Ammonia and Enzyme Treatment

Wool top and knitted fabric were treated with ammonia in the presence of sodium chloride (salt-ammonia process). The effectiveness of salt-ammonia process traditionally used as pretreatment for low temperature dyeing has been investigated for conferring shrink-resistance of wool. The pretreatmont of salt-ammonia process followed by enzymatic treatment has been proved that contribute to not only the enhancement of dyeing behavionr but also shrinkage-resistance in the present studies. A novel composition of salt-ammonia pretreatment, oxidized and reduced treatment as well as protease modification was recommended to achieve low temperature dyeing and shrinkage-resistance of wool. At the same time, the process conditions were optimized by orthogonal array and assessed by dye uptake rate, weight loss and area shrinkage. Laboratory experiments showed that the knitted fabric treated according to optimized conditions of the combined process, achieved not only improvement of dye abilities but also the strict requirement of machine-washable, representing a possible alternative to chlorination. 展开更多

Polybutylene succinate(PBS)fiber is a kind of synthetic fibers with excellent properties and biodegradability,which has been produced on a large scale in China.To investigate the application properties of PBS fibers,the structure and properties were systematically studied in this paper.The microstructures and thermal properties of PBS fibers were analyzed by Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)spectroscopy,X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),thermo gravimetric(TG)and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC).The mechanical properties,chemical stability and dyeing properties of PBS fibers were also studied.The results show that PBS fibers areα-crystalline with a crystallinity of 58.56%.PBS fibers have an excellent thermal stability and the initial temperature of thermal degradation is 370℃.The tensile strength,the elongation at break,the elastic recovery rate at a fixed elongation(5%)and the moisture regain rate of PBS fibers are 29.57 cN/tex,90.94%,44.55%and 5.04%,respectively.The chemical stability is as follows:alkali resistance<acid resistance<oxidation resistance.PBS fibers have an excellent dye uptake by carrier dyeing of disperse dyes. 展开更多

Reactive dyes are the main species for cotton dyeing due to their wide range of hue, satisfactory color fastness and facile application method. Aiming at increasing fixation on cotton fibers, benzimidazolone yellow reactive dyes, sulfonamide red reactive dyes and anthraquinone azo blue reactive dyes are designed. The preparation, characterization and application properties of these dyes with high fixation are introduced in detail. In order to achieve dye fixation to near 100%, macromolecular crosslinking reactive dyes are designed, their dyeing and fixing mechanism are discussed. These novel reactive dyes show promising application prospect in dyeing and printing of cotton fibers. 展开更多

The absorption and emission maxima (λabs = 614-739 rim; ,λem = 655-776 nm in CHCI3) of 1-12 covered from the visible to the near- infrared region. Probe I was ratiometric Vis pH probes. Such probe was almost non-fluorescent. Upon the protonation of the tertiary amine function of 1, the strong fluorescence (φf =0.97) was released and the florescence intensity was dramatically increased by one thousand folds. The sharp isosbestic points were discovered at 590 nm, which was a ratiometric pH probe. 展开更多

Three new N-alkylsulfonamide-containing phenylazopyrazolone dyes have been synthesized by reaction of sulfonyl chloride intermediates with different saturated aliphatic amines and their molecular structures were confirmed by FTIR, (1)H NMR and MS. The dyes were applied to unmodified polypropylene fabric. These dyes showed high exhaustion as well as higher levels of fastness to washing, sublimation and rubbing compared with C.I. Disperse Yellow 16. The results showed the N-alkylsulfonamide-containing dyes were suitable for dyeing unmodified PP fiber and exhibited good color depth and fastness properties. 展开更多

A series of phenylazo-β-naphthol-containing sulfonamide disperse dyes were prepared from C.I.Acid Orange 7 by successive reactions of chlorination and amination,and their chemical structures were characterized by FTIR,1H NMR,and mass spectrometry.The dyes were applied to coloring of knitted fabrics from fine denier polypropylene fibers by exhaust dyeing and their optimal dyeing conditions,such as dyebath pH,dyeing temperature,dyeing time,and dye concentration were investigated in detail.Then,dye exhaustion,color strength,and color fastnesses of the dyes on the fibers were assessed and summarized.In view of dye exhaustion and color strength of the sulfonamide dyes on fine denier PP fabrics,90℃ was selected as the best dyeing temperature at dye concentration below or equal to 3.0%owf.For achieving higher color strength,130℃ was the better choice when the dye concentration was above 3.0%owf.The sulfonamide dyes,especially secondary sulfonamide dyes,exhibited superior dye exhaustion and color fastnesses to washing,sublimation,and rubbing on fine denier PP fabrics in comparison to C.I.Solvent Yellow 14 bearing the same chromophore but without sulfonamide group. 展开更多

Synthesis, characterization and assessment thermal properties of clay based nanopigments

Nano-clay based pigments (NCP) are new type of pigments composed of organic dyes and layered silicate- clay nano-particles, and have already been used in polymeric coatings to improve mechanical thermal and stability properties. In this paper, the basic blue 41(BB41) was intercalated into Na+- montmorillonite in an aqueous medium. The dye-intercalated montmorillonite was cen- trifuged, dried, and milled to prepare the nanopigrnent particles. X-ray diffraction showed an increase in the basal spacing, thus confirming intercalation of the BB41 molecules within the nanostructures of the interlayer spaces. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy was used for identifying the functional groups and chemical bounding of Na+-montmorillonite, BB41 and montmor- illonite-BB41. The morphology of NCP was also studied by transmission electron microscopy. Finally, thermo- gravimetric analysis and differential thermograms sug- gested the thermal stability of the intercalated dye was improved. 展开更多
