Object detection in Remote Sensing(RS)has achieved tremendous advances in recent years,but it remains challenging for rotated object detection due to cluttered backgrounds,dense object arrangements and the wide range ...Object detection in Remote Sensing(RS)has achieved tremendous advances in recent years,but it remains challenging for rotated object detection due to cluttered backgrounds,dense object arrangements and the wide range of size variations among objects.To tackle this problem,Dense Context Feature Pyramid Network(DCFPN)and a powerα-Gaussian loss are designed for rotated object detection in this paper.The proposed DCFPN can extract multi-scale information densely and accurately by leveraging a dense multi-path dilation layer to cover all sizes of objects in remote sensing scenarios.For more accurate detection while avoiding bottlenecks such as boundary discontinuity in rotated bounding box regression,a-Gaussian loss,a unified power generalization of existing Gaussian modeling losses is proposed.Furthermore,the properties ofα-Gaussian loss are analyzed comprehensively for a wider range of applications.Experimental results on four datasets(UCAS-AOD,HRSC2016,DIOR-R,and DOTA)show the effectiveness of the proposed method using different detectors,and are superior to the existing methods in both feature extraction and bounding box regression。展开更多
In this paper,a novel algorithm is proposed to detect and classify the power quality(PQ)disturbances for distribution networks with distributed generation.First,a distribution system with photovoltaic and wind power g...In this paper,a novel algorithm is proposed to detect and classify the power quality(PQ)disturbances for distribution networks with distributed generation.First,a distribution system with photovoltaic and wind power generation is built as a test platform.Then,nine types of power quality disturbances in the distribution network are decomposed by variational mode decomposition(VMD)and the noise is filtered.Meanwhile,the mode functions containing characteristic information are extracted as input signals of detrended fluctuation analysis(DFA).Power quality disturbances are classified from the view of their distributed energy operational status,and three types of windows are set up to deal with different frequency disturbances.The two-dimensional and three-dimensional scatter plots of each type under three windows are depicted,and the criteria are determined to distinguish the disturbances under the different operating conditions.The simulations show that the algorithm is simpler,more accurate and feasible.It provides an approach for online real-time detection of embedded systems.展开更多
Distribution system analysis(DSA)currently faces several challenges due to inclusion of distributed energy resources(DERs),which have many characteristics,such as inherent variability,uncertainty,possibility of flexib...Distribution system analysis(DSA)currently faces several challenges due to inclusion of distributed energy resources(DERs),which have many characteristics,such as inherent variability,uncertainty,possibility of flexible four quadrant converter operations with distributed generation(DG),and the need for efficient operations to improve reliability of the supply system.This article argues for a high degree of case-specificity and discusses its implications in distribution networks with increasing DG penetration.The research is based on the exhaustive yearly simulation analyses of 132 candidate scenarios and investigates the effects of feeder-specific factors,such as geo-electric size and feeder spread,load density,and phase unbalancing.Nineteen(19)feeder variants—with phase-domain detailed modeling of all feeder components,including DGs,are subjected to increasing penetration of photovoltaic generation without altering the type and location of DGs.The objective is to analyze the role of feederspecific factors on feeder response characteristics in terms of annualized operational parameters,such as energy losses,feeder voltage profile,average power factor,and peak demand at a substation node,as well as tap-changer operations of voltage regulating equipment and their interaction with shunt compensation.Recorded annual load profiles—industrial,commercial,and residential—as well as location specific weather data are used to simulate the candidate scenarios based on three IEEE test feeders and one actual spot network in India.Results signify the consideration of feeder-specific factors in the planning exercise of grouping“similar”feeders for formulating the strategies that can improve daily operations of distribution feeders.The demonstrated case-specificity also implies that optimization algorithms for improved operations with DGs will need to be based on an integrated approach that accounts for feeder-specific factors as well as cyclic variability of DERs.展开更多
In order to overcome the shortages of diagnostic method for distribution networks considering the reliability assessment,this paper proposed a method based on power supply safety standards.It profoundly analyzed the s...In order to overcome the shortages of diagnostic method for distribution networks considering the reliability assessment,this paper proposed a method based on power supply safety standards.It profoundly analyzed the security standard of supply for urban power networks,and established quantitative indicators of load groups based on different fault conditions.Then a method suitable for diagnostic evaluation of urban distribution networks in China was given.In the method,“N-1”calibration analysis of the distribution network was conducted.Then the results are compared with quantitative indicators of load groups on different conditions deriving the diagnostic conclusions and the standard revision is discussed.The feasibility and accuracy of the method is finally verified in the case study.展开更多
