It is bounded by the Xing＇an--Mongolian Orogen to the north, the Qingling Orogen to the south, the Lüliang mountain to the east and the Helanshan--Liupanshan mountain belt to the west. The interpretation of geophysical data reveals a latitudinal （38°） fault belt in the centre of the Ordos Basin, which controls the hydrocarbon generation, migration and accumulation in the basin. This study attempts to investigate this belt from outcrops and indicates a structurally controlled system of migration fairway within the fault belt.展开更多

BACKGROUND Picky eating is a commonly observed behavior among children globally,negatively impacting their physical and mental growth.Although common characteristics distinguish peaky eaters,including food selectivity...BACKGROUND Picky eating is a commonly observed behavior among children globally,negatively impacting their physical and mental growth.Although common characteristics distinguish peaky eaters,including food selectivity,food neophobia,and food avoidance,there is no clear definition to assess this behavior.Due to the unavailability of data regarding picky eating,it wasn’t easy to estimate its prevalence.AIM To develop a regional protocol to help healthcare professionals identify and manage mild and moderate picky eating cases.METHODS A virtual roundtable discussion was held in April 2021 to gather the opinions of seven pediatricians and two pediatric dietitians from eight Middle Eastern countries who had great experience in the management of picky eating.The discussion covered different topics,including clearly defining mild and moderate picky eating,identifying the role of diet fortification in these cases,and the possibility of developing a systematic approach to diet fortification.RESULTS The panel identified picky eating as consuming an inadequate amount and variety of foods by rejecting familiar and unfamiliar food.Most of the time,moderate picky eating cases had micronutrient deficiencies with over-or undernutrition;the mild cases only showed inadequate food consumption and/or poor diet quality.Paying attention to the organic red flags like growth faltering and development delay and behavioral red flags,including food fixation and anticipatory gagging,will help healthcare professionals evaluate the picky eaters and the caregivers to care for their children.Although dietary supplementation and commercial food fortification play an important role in picky eating,they were no benefit in the Middle East.CONCLUSION The panel agreed that food fortification through a food-first approach and oral nutritional supplements would be the best for Middle Eastern children.These recommendations would facilitate identifying and managing picky-eating children in the Middle East.展开更多

We read with great interest the investigations conducted by Pourakbar et al.(2024)on the“Stabilization of clay soil using alkali-activated sewage sludge.”The authors have investigated the feasibility of utilizing al...We read with great interest the investigations conducted by Pourakbar et al.(2024)on the“Stabilization of clay soil using alkali-activated sewage sludge.”The authors have investigated the feasibility of utilizing alkali-activated sewage sludge(AASS)as a binder for stabilizing the clayey soil.Sewage sludge(SS)in varying proportions of 1.5%,2%,2.5%,3.5%,and 4.5%was utilized to prepare geopolymer binders using sodium and potassium-based alkali activators.Furthermore,unconfined compressive strength(UCS)and direct shear tests were conducted to examine the strength development of clayey soil stabilized with AASS.While the study presented some intriguing results,we have identified critical concerns regarding(i)the selection of SS as a precursor for alkali activation,(ii)technical inconsistencies associated with the compaction characteristics and microstructural analysis,and(iii)the feasibility of the proposed methodology for practical applications.Through our discussion,we seek to highlight these issues and provide constructive feedback to advance the understanding of alkali activation processes and their implications for soil stabilization.展开更多

Objective:Patient safety culture is a concern in every healthcare organization,therefore,the healthcare leadership is encountering issues related to patient safety across the globe.In India,there is limited research a...Objective:Patient safety culture is a concern in every healthcare organization,therefore,the healthcare leadership is encountering issues related to patient safety across the globe.In India,there is limited research and information about patient safety culture among healthcare stakeholders and there is relatively little qualitative research available that captures the factors of patient safety culture.Hence,this study aims to explore the perception of healthcare professionals on patient safety culture.Methods:An exploratory qualitative study design was adopted in a tertiary care hospital.Structured focus group discussion(FGD)(n=4)among healthcare professionals and two in-depth interview focus groups were audio-recorded and transcribed.Two coders reviewed transcripts using the editing approach and organized codes into themes.The data were analyzed through MAXQDA 2022(VERBI Software GmbH,Berlin,Germany),qualitative data analysis software,and descriptive analysis technique.The main codes and themes were generated using inductive and deductive method and smart coding was done.Results:Overall,there were 190 unique mentions of codes related to patient safety culture from 4 FGDs.They were categorized into 6 major themes and subcodes were derived via smart coding using the MAXQDA software.“Resources and constraints”was the most prominent code,followed by management support,manpower shortage,burnout,and lack of personnel commitment.Conclusions:The study highlights significant gaps in patient safety culture within the healthcare setting,with resource constraints,management support,and manpower shortages emerging as critical challenges.Burnout and lack of personnel commitment further exacerbate these issues,underscoring the need for targeted interventions.展开更多
