Enhancing cathode design by considering complex motion and variations of electric field distribution in counter-rotating electrochemical machining

The counter-rotating electrochemical machining(CRECM) shows unique potential in the machining of thin-walled rotating parts with complex convex structures. CREM realizes the shaping of complex convex structures through the relative rotation of the cathode and anode.The complex motion pattern and electric field distribution make it difficult to apply the existing cathode design methods to CRECM. To solve this problem, the matrix equations of cathode motion based on the kinematics and the electric field simulation model are established. The motion trajectories and edge contours at different angles are analyzed. The rotational overlap theory of motion trajectories under the windows at different angles is proved. Besides, the relationship between electric field distribution and the convex structure forming under different angle windows is studied, and the fundamental reason for deviations occurs when the convex profile is rotated to coincide is revealed. Therefore, a prediction model of the sidewall dissolution is established to correct this deviation, thereby deriving a high-precision design formula for the cathode windows of the high convex structures. By designing a cathode with oval-like windows to curry out CRECM experiments, the array-arranged(30 × 5) circular high convex structure with a maximum roundness error of 0.065 mm is successfully fabricated. 展开更多

Seismic isolation design and resilience improvement of railway station considering the influence of near-fault pulse-like ground motions

To improve the resilience of railway stations,a typical station was selected as the research object,and an isolation design was introduced.Twenty-four groups of near-fault pulse-like ground motions were selected.The seismic resilience of the no-isolation railway stations(NIRS)and the isolation railway stations(IRS)were compared to provide a numerical result of the improvement in resilience.The results show that in the station isolation design,the station's functional requirements and structural characteristics should be considered and the appropriate placement of isolation bearings is under the waiting room.Under the action of a rare earthquake,the repair cost,repair time,rate of harm and death of the IRS were decreased by 8.04 million,18.30 days,6.93×10^(-3)and 1.21×10^(-3),respectively,when compared to the NIRS.The IRS received a seismic resilience grade of three-stars and the NIRS only one-star,indicating that rational isolation design improves the seismic resilience of stations.Thus,for the design of stations close to earthquake faults,it is suggested to utilize appropriate isolation techniques to improve their seismic resilience. 展开更多

Underwater jet propulsion bio-inspired robots have typically been designed based on soft-bodied organisms, exhibiting relatively limited forms of locomotion. Scallop, a bivalve organism capable of jet propulsion, holds significant importance in the study of underwater motion mechanisms. In this study, we present theoretical fluid mechanics analysis and modeling of the three distinct motion stages of scallops, providing parameterized descriptions of scallop locomotion mechanisms. Accordingly, three-stage adaptive motion control for the scallop robot and model-based robot configuration optimization design were achieved. An experimental platform and a robot prototype were built to validate the accuracy of the motion model and the effectiveness of the control strategy. Additionally, based on the models, future optimization directions for the robot are proposed. 展开更多

With rising consumer spending power and growing demand for personalization,the role of jewelry designers in product innovation and brand building has become increasingly prominent,and the realization of their commercial value has emerged as a key competitive driver in the industry.This paper employs a combination of literature review and case analysis to first define the connotation and evaluation dimensions of jewelry designers’commercial value.Next,it examines successful practices of representative designers at home and abroad,analyzing their core strategies in brand development,market positioning,channel collaboration,and innovation models.Finally,based on these findings,it proposes a systematic path for building personal brands,deepening value‐chain collaboration,and exploring cross-field innovation.The study demonstrates that effective brand building and differentiated positioning can significantly enhance a designer’s bargaining power,while coordinated upstream–downstream value-chain efforts and diverse innovation models—spanning technology and culture—provide vital support for sustained growth in commercial value.This paper aims to offer actionable strategic frameworks for industry practitioners and decision makers and to outline directions for future research. 展开更多

Objectives:Emotional stress is a significant public health challenge.Virtual reality(VR)offers the potential for aiding emotional recovery.This study explores the impact of VR environment design factors on emotional recovery,examining underlying mechanisms through physiological indicators and behavioral responses.Methods:Two experimentswere conducted.Experiment 1 employed a 4[Scene Type:real environment(RE),virtual scenes that restore the RE(VR),virtual scenes that incorporate natural window view design(VR-W),and a no-scene control condition(CTL)]×3(Experimental Phase:baseline,emotion arousal,recovery)mixed design(N=33).Participants viewed a 4-min anxiety-inducing video followed by a 3-min scene exposure.State-Trait Anxiety Inventory-State Form(STAIS),galvanic skin response(GSR),and blood-volume pulse(BVP)frequency were analyzed with linear mixed-effects models.Experiment 2 used a 3(Motion-control mode:Unnatural,Semi-natural,Natural)×2(Sound form:Spatial positioning,Surround)×3(Experimental Phase:baseline,emotion arousal,recovery)mixed design(N=42).Presence was analyzed with the Scheirer–Ray–Hare test;phase efficacy was verified with Friedman tests.Results:Experiment 1 showed significant Scene Type×Experimental Phase interactions for GSR(F=8.006,p<0.001,η^(2)_(p)=0.624)and BVP frequency(F=11.491,p<0.001,η^(2)_(p)=0.704).VR-Wproduced the largest recovery(ΔGSR=–1.26;ΔBVP=–5.80;Hedges g≥0.83)vs.RE and VR.STAI-S returned to baseline across all Scene Types.Experiment 2 revealedmain effects of Motion-control mode(F=8.55,p=0.001,η^(2)_(p)=0.32)and Sound form(F=4.35,p=0.044,η^(2)_(p)=0.11)on Presence(Semi-natural+Spatial positioning highest).The greatest physiological recovery occurred with the UnnaturalMotioncontrolmode(GSRH=20.17,p<0.001,ε^(2)=0.49;BVPH=7.92,p=0.019),amplified by Spatial positioning Sound form only in this mode.Design factors did not influence STAI-S change.Conclusions:VR scenes are as restorative as RE;embedding VR-W accelerates recovery.Maximal Presence is not essential:Unnatural Motion-control mode induced the largest physiological recovery,especially combined with Spatial positioning Sound form. 展开更多
