It was assumed that th...A simulation model was proposed to investigate the relationship between train delays and passenger delays and to predict the dynamic passenger distribution in a large-scale rail transit network. It was assumed that the time varying original-destination demand and passenger path choice probability were given. Passengers were assumed not to change their destinations and travel paths after delay occurs. CapaciW constraints of train and queue rules of alighting and boarding were taken into account. By using the time-driven simulation, the states of passengers, trains and other facilities in the network were updated every time step. The proposed methodology was also tested in a real network, for demonstration. The results reveal that short train delay does not necessarily result in passenger delays, while, on the contrary, some passengers may get benefits from the short delay. However, large initial train delay may result in not only knock-on train and passenger delays along the same line, but also the passenger delays across the entire rail transit network.展开更多

Quantification of the effect of these tmcertainties would enable researchers to estimate the variances of structural responses observed from experiments. This poses challenges for real-time hybrid simulation (RTHS) due to the existence of actuator delay. Polynomial chaos expansion (PCE) projects the model outputs on a basis of orthogonal stochastic polynomials to account for influences of model uncertainties. In this paper, PCE is utilized to evaluate effect of actuator delay on the maximum displacement from real-time hybrid simulation of a single degree of freedom (SDOF) structure when accounting for uncertainties in structural properties. The PCE is first applied for RTHS without delay to determine the order of PCE, the number of sample points as well as the method for coefficients calculation. The PCE is then applied to RTHS with actuator delay. The mean, variance and Sobol indices are compared and discussed to evaluate the effects of actuator delay on uncertainty quantification for RTHS. Results show that the mean and the variance of the maximum displacement increase linearly and exponentially with respect to actuator delay, respectively. Sensitivity analysis through Sobol indices also indicates the influence of the single random variable decreases while the coupling effect increases with the increase of actuator delay.展开更多

Asides fro...In the present study, the subcritical flow past a generic side mirror on a base plane is investigated at the Reynolds number of 5.2 × 10~5 using delayed detached eddy simulation(DDES) turbulence model. Asides from the capability of capturing main features of the large recirculation vortex in the wake of the side mirror and the front horseshoe vortex, the accuracy of DDES estimation of recirculation length is significantly increased by over20%, compared to the detached eddy simulation(DES) estimation using the same grid. And DDES prediction of pressure coefficient at the trailing edge of the mirror is in good agreement with the experiments, which is more accurate than both DES and large eddy simulation(LES) results. The results verify the capacity of DDES turbulence model to solve the turbulent flow around the side mirror. This is a key foundation for possible future study of full simulation of external flow field of vehicle.展开更多

The effectiveness of various compensation methods in different test scenarios, however, needs to be quantitatively evaluated. In this study, four compensation methods (i.e., the polynomial extrapolation, the linear acceleration extrapolation, the inverse compensation and the adaptive inverse compensation) are selected and compared experimentally using a frequency evaluation index (FEI) method. The effectiveness of the FEI method is first verified through comparison with the discrete transfer fimction approach for compensation methods assuming constant delay. Incomparable advantage is further demonstrated for the FEI method when applied to adaptive compensation methods, where the discrete transfer function approach is difficult to implement. Both numerical simulation and laboratory tests with predefined displacements are conducted using sinusoidal signals and random signals as inputs. Findings from numerical simulation and experimental results demonstrate that the FEI method is an efficient and effective approach to compare the performance of different compensation methods, especially for those requiring adaptation of compensation parameters.展开更多

This paper aims to investigate the critical stability of a multi-degree-of-freedom(multi-DOF)real-time hybrid simulation(RTHS).First,the critical time-delay analysis models are developed using the continuous-and discr...This paper aims to investigate the critical stability of a multi-degree-of-freedom(multi-DOF)real-time hybrid simulation(RTHS).First,the critical time-delay analysis models are developed using the continuous-and discrete-time root locus(RL)techniques,respectively.A bilinear transform is introduced into the first-order Padéapproximation while conducting the discrete RL analysis.Based on this technique,the time delay can be explicitly used as the gain factor and thus the instability mechanism of the multi-DOF RTHS system can be analyzed.Subsequently,the critical time delays calculated by the continuous-and discrete-time RL techniques,respectively,are compared for a 2-DOF RTHS system.It is shown that assuming the RTHS system to be a continuous-time system will result in overestimating the critical time delay.Finally,theoretically calculated critical delays are demonstrated and validated by numerical simulation and a set of RTHS experiments.Parametric analysis provides a glimpse of the effects of time step,frequency and damping ratio in a performing partitioning scheme.The constructed analysis model proves to be useful for evaluating the critical time delay to predict stability and performance,therefore facilitating successful RTHS.展开更多

Then, flower opening process is simulated with Logistic function. At last, flowers opening simulations of seven types are carried out with Web GL. The results show that, using this model, the average rendering time of these 7 flowers is 195.84 s, the minimum rendering time is only 12.23 s in gardenia flower opening simulation. T...The delay arming process of initiating explosive ( IE ) brakes for fuse is complex and hard to be verified. A numerical simulation model of IE brakes was established based on the arbitrary La- grange-Euler method. The model included the structure, the air filed, etc. The simulation boundary conditions were defined, including the contacts, blasting parameters of the explosive and the fluid- solid coupling interface. The simulation results show that the shear pin of the chosen IE can be cut off. When the piston needs to move 0.8 cm, the time set to the delay arming of the IE brakes model is about 40μS. The maximum displacement of the piston is 1. 17 cm. The model provides basis for parameters design and further improvement of IE brakes.展开更多
The complex flow characteristics in the tip region of a tandem cascade with tip clearance have been calculated and analyzed using Delayed Detached Eddy Simulation(DDES).The coherent mechanism of the vortex structures ...The complex flow characteristics in the tip region of a tandem cascade with tip clearance have been calculated and analyzed using Delayed Detached Eddy Simulation(DDES).The coherent mechanism of the vortex structures near the blade tip was discussed,and the unsteady behaviors and features in the tip flow field were analyzed.Additionally,the interaction between the tip leakage flow and the gap jet was revealed.The results show that,compared to the datum cascade,the blade tip load of the rear blade increases while that of the front blade decreases.Unsteady fluctuations of the tandem cascade are mainly caused by the interaction between the tip leakage flow and gap jet,and by the mixing of the vortex structures,but there is no essential change in the spectrum feature of the tip leakage flow.Finally,a detailed analysis of the development of vortices in the tip region is conducted by the topological structures of the flow field.Combined with the three-dimensional vortex structures,the schematic diagram of the vortex system of the datum single-row cascade and tandem cascade is summarized.展开更多

In this paper, field measurement of the induced voltage and induced current on a 110 kV crossing line inside Jinhua in Zhejiang province is performed. The electrostatic induced voltage on the measured line is 12.24 kV. The power frequency electromagnetic field simulation model is established, and the calculation results are consistent with the measured. Influence factors analysis shows that the electrostatic induced voltage on the 110 kV line is 12.78 kV, the electromagnetic induced voltage is 12.3 V, the induced current through ground wire is less than 1A when the UHV lines operate at full load. The induced voltage and current decrease while the crossing distance increases. Parallel lines induction is much higher than crossing lines. The electromagnetic induced voltage after ground knife-switch shut down would exceed the human safety voltage 36 V while the crossing angle is less than 30?, so the temporary ground wire must be hanged to ensure safety of the maintenance staff.展开更多

This study analyzed the maintenance stage of th...The “3·31” severe squall line event in eastern China was notable for its exceptional intensity and persistence,posing significant challenges to forecast accuracy. This study analyzed the maintenance stage of this event using highresolution convection-permitting numerical simulations, with a focus on vorticity budgets of the environmental flow, multiscale synoptic diagnostics, and Rotunno-Klemp-Weisman(RKW) theory. These analyses aimed to elucidate the mechanisms governing the morphological transition, the generation of associated convective gales, and the prolonged maintenance of the squall line event. The results show that the numerical simulation accurately reproduced the development and evolution of the squall line, particularly its location, with surface wind errors remaining within a reasonable range. The development of a mesoscale vortex modulated the dynamic and water vapor fields, providing favorable mesoscale environmental conditions for the organization and maintenance of the squall line. Vorticity budget analysis indicates that the divergence and tilting terms were the primary contributors to vorticity tendency. After the squall line entered Jiangxi Province, it exhibited a sharper leading edge and enhanced upward motion. Dry intrusion from the mid-toupper troposphere led to rapid downward momentum transfer at the meso-γ scale, thereby generating convective gales. In addition, the enhancement of the rear-inflow jet(RIJ) was related to the pressure difference between the interior and exterior of system, which resulted from the phase change of condensate within tilted updrafts. The RIJ was orthogonal to the squall line, causing it to transform from a linear into a bowing shape. Diagnosis based on the RKW theory underscore the important roles in both low-level and deep vertical wind shear in maintenaning the squall line. The ratios of the cold pool propagation velocity to the vertical wind shear were close to 1, which balanced with the ambient horizontal vorticity that allowed the convection to remain upright, thus sustaining the squall line's intensity for an extended period. In summary, the squall line event was sustained by a favorable environment created by the environmental vortex. The dry intrusion from the mid-to-upper troposphere and intensified RIJ resulted in the severe convective winds, while the balance between cold pool and ambient vertical wind shear promoted the system's prolonged maintenance. These findings provide an effective reference for the short-range forecasting of squall lines throughout their lifecycle.展开更多

The induced voltage and current decrease while the crossing distance increases. Parallel lines induction is much higher than crossing lines. The electromagnetic induced voltage after ground knife-switch shut down would exceed the human safety voltage 36 V while the crossing angle is less than 30?, so the temporary ground wire must be hanged to ensure safety of the maintenance staff.

文摘Delayed detached eddy simulation(DDES)is performed to investigate an open cavity at Ma0.85.Clean cavity and cavity with leading-edge saw tooth spoiler and flattop spoiler,are modeled.The results obtained from clean cavity prediction are compared with experimental sound pressure level(SPL)data from QinetiQ,UK.DDES results agree well with the experimental data.Furthermore,comparisons are made with the predicted SPL between the three configurations to find out the effect of different passive control methods.Both the spoilers can suppress the over-all SPL up to 8dB.The main focuses of this investigation are to exam the DDES method on cavity aeroacoustic analysis and test the noise suppression effect by saw tooth spoiler and flattop spoiler.

文摘The “3·31” severe squall line event in eastern China was notable for its exceptional intensity and persistence,posing significant challenges to forecast accuracy. This study analyzed the maintenance stage of this event using highresolution convection-permitting numerical simulations, with a focus on vorticity budgets of the environmental flow, multiscale synoptic diagnostics, and Rotunno-Klemp-Weisman(RKW) theory. These analyses aimed to elucidate the mechanisms governing the morphological transition, the generation of associated convective gales, and the prolonged maintenance of the squall line event. The results show that the numerical simulation accurately reproduced the development and evolution of the squall line, particularly its location, with surface wind errors remaining within a reasonable range. The development of a mesoscale vortex modulated the dynamic and water vapor fields, providing favorable mesoscale environmental conditions for the organization and maintenance of the squall line. Vorticity budget analysis indicates that the divergence and tilting terms were the primary contributors to vorticity tendency. After the squall line entered Jiangxi Province, it exhibited a sharper leading edge and enhanced upward motion. Dry intrusion from the mid-toupper troposphere led to rapid downward momentum transfer at the meso-γ scale, thereby generating convective gales. In addition, the enhancement of the rear-inflow jet(RIJ) was related to the pressure difference between the interior and exterior of system, which resulted from the phase change of condensate within tilted updrafts. The RIJ was orthogonal to the squall line, causing it to transform from a linear into a bowing shape. Diagnosis based on the RKW theory underscore the important roles in both low-level and deep vertical wind shear in maintenaning the squall line. The ratios of the cold pool propagation velocity to the vertical wind shear were close to 1, which balanced with the ambient horizontal vorticity that allowed the convection to remain upright, thus sustaining the squall line's intensity for an extended period. In summary, the squall line event was sustained by a favorable environment created by the environmental vortex. The dry intrusion from the mid-to-upper troposphere and intensified RIJ resulted in the severe convective winds, while the balance between cold pool and ambient vertical wind shear promoted the system's prolonged maintenance. These findings provide an effective reference for the short-range forecasting of squall lines throughout their lifecycle.
